ANNE W. GENOCK

WILLISTON, Vt. - Anne W. Genock, 55, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, with her loving husband, Robert, by her side.

Annie was born in Rochester, N.Y., the daughter of Edwin and Lois (Kittelberger) Williams.

Anne's early childhood was spent in Penfield, N.Y. She attended Penfield schools and graduated from Penfield High School in 1965. She graduated from Lasell Junior College in Auburndale, Mass. in June, 1967.

In the fall of 1967, she married Robert P. Genock and together left for the Dominican Republic, where she worked as the secretary to the agricultural attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo until 1969.

The next year was spent in Nassau, Bahamas.

Anne and Bob then moved to Bogota, Colombia, from 1970 to 1973, where Anne cared for seven babies being adopted by U.S. families. they eventually returned stateside in 1973, settling in Stamford, Conn.

During this period they bought a cabin on Keeler Bay in South Hero, a place to reflect and escape to.

While living in North Stamford, they became members of a small church within a mile of their home, the Long Ridge Congregational Church, where through much soul searching, Anne received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Anne was also a volunteer with the Tres Dias Weekend Community in Connecticut.

In 1989, she and Bob moved to Mexico City, Mexico, where they lived and attended the Union Evangelical Church in Lomas, Mexico City. Anne worked with handicapped children at Mother Theresa's orphanage, taught sewing to women in poor neighborhoods of Mexico City, and served as discussion leader with Bible Study Fellowship at the Union Evangelical Church. During this time, Anne also directed weekly food provisions for the Baptist Orphanage in Mexico City.

Once again, they returned stateside where they settled in Victor, N.Y. For the next two years, she attended Brighton Presbyterian Church in Rochester. During this time, she also audited Bible courses at Elim Bible Institute in Lima, N.Y. At the Bible institute, Anne and Bob were led to missionary work. Anne and Bob traveled to Aalsmeer in the Netherlands, where they were called to work with Abundant Lifestyle Ministries, a mission training pastors from Russia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and China. Anne served as Base Mission housekeeper providing meals and boarding for staff and visiting pastors, missionaries and outreach team members. She also worked as Lay prayer facilitator with Freedom in Christ Ministries, and attended Levende Evangelische Gemmente Aalsmeer in Netherlands and Crossroads International Church in Amsterdam.

They returned to their cabin in South Hero in June of 2001 and settled in Williston the following fall. Since their return to Vermont, they have become members of the Essex Alliance Church in Essex.

Anne is survived by her loving husband, Robert, of Williston, her mother, Lois Williams of Penfield, N.Y., and her brother Edwin Williams Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Webster, N.Y.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at 3 p.m. in the Essex Alliance Church, located at 37 Old Stage Road in Essex, Vt.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Genock family lot in South Hero Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions in Anne's memory may be made to the VNA, Hospice of the Champlain Valley, 1110 Prim Road, Suite 1, Colchester, Vt. 05446. Arrangements were by the Minor Funeral Home of Milton.

SUSAN J. HAMILTON

ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Susan J. (Pelkey) Hamilton, age 58, died Sunday morning, Sept. 1, 2002, in the Fletcher Allen Medical Center, shortly after arrival. She was born in St. Albans Dec. 10, 1942, daughter of the late Walter and Alberta (Sweeney) Pelkey.

She was formerly employed at Holiday House Nursing Home and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Unit 758.

Sue married William Hamilton in 1973. Bill died in 1992.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Hamilton of St. Albans; her brother, Francis and his wife Lucille Pelkey of St. Albans; a sister, Rose and her husband David Miller of Mounds View, N.M.; sisters-in-law Kathy Pelkey of Siera Vista, Ariz., Ellie Pelkey of Montpelier; brother-in-law Alfred Zabaska of St. Albans; two uncles, Arnold Pelkey, and Maynard and his wife Iris Pelkey, all of St. Albans; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, sisters Philomene Zabaska in 1985, Margaret Pelkey in 2001, brothers Edward Pelkey in 1936 and Walter Pelkey Jr. in 2002, and by a sister-in-law, Constance Pelkey in 1984.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, at 9:30 a.m. in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow in the Hamilton family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

ELMENA "CHICKIE" TATRO

BERKSHIRE CENTER/ST. ALBANS TOWN -- Mrs. Elmena Rose "Chickie" Tatro, age 63, died peacefully Monday morning, Sept. 2, 2002, at her home in Berkshire Center, following an extended illness. She was born in St. Albans April 7, 1939, daughter of Rose (St. Pierre) Radzyminski and the late Leon J. Radzyminski.

Most of her working life she was a community care home giver, who really loved people. Chickie enjoyed knitting, crafts, and had a special compassion for animals. She spent most of her life in the St. Albans Town area.

Dec. 31, 1980, she married Abraham Tatro Jr. Besides her husband, Abe of Berkshire Center, she is survived by her mother, Rose Radzyminski of St. Albans Town; three children, Gary Hemingway and William Hemingway, both of Swanton, Sherry and her husband Marty Buzzel of Claremont, N.H.; step-children, Ernest Tatro of Berkshire Center, Jeffrey Tatro of Hyde Park and Bonnie Ploof of Richford; her sister, Barbara Langevin of Highgate Center; three brothers, Leon "Pedr" Radzyminski, Mark and his wife Judy Radzyminski, Steven and his wife Wendy Radzyminski, all of St. Albans; six grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends James Shirlock of Berkshire Center and Audrey and Jack Kimball of St. Johnsbury.

She was predeceased by her father, Leon Radzyminski in 1971; and her brother-in-law Leon Langevin in 2001; as well as her beloved canine companion Christy.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Riverside Cemetery in Swanton. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Vermont Diabetes Association, 77 Hedgeman Ave., Colchester, Vt. 05466.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

LUCILLE MARY (ROCQUE) TAYLOR

ST. ALBANS -- Our Lord called Lucille (Rocque) Taylor to her heavenly home on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002. She passed away peacefully at Northwestern Medical Center with her loving family at her side. She was born in St. Albans Town on May 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Lewis and Mabel (Mercier) Rocque.

Lucille was a resident of St. Albans most of her life and a communicant of Holy Angels Church. Her greatest love was her family and she also enjoyed her home and flowers. She was a graduate of Lodi Union High School in California, Class of 1934. During her working years she was a lounge manager for many area hotels.

Survivors include two sons, Alan H. Taylor and his wife, Jean of Pownal, and Harold "Pete" Taylor of East Hampton, Mass.; a daughter, Mary T. Wright and her husband, Richard of Swanton; a sister, Thelma Barker; and a sister-in-law, Kay Rocque, both of St. Albans Town; six grandchildren, Steve Taylor and his wife, Mary, Pamela Taylor-Paris and her husband, Doug, Lori Congdon and her husband, Jaimes, Lisa Cahillane and her husband, David, Marybeth Nichols and her husband, Kevin and Brian Wright and his friend, Stephanie Neal. She also leaves six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Rocque; and her former husband, Hobart Taylor, both in 1992.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002 at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church. Interment will be in the family lot in St. Albans Bay Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.

JAMES W. STEEN

ST. ALBANS -- Mr. James W. Steen, age 70, died Sunday morning, Sept. 1, 2002, in Haven Health Center, after a long illness. He was born in St. Albans on March 3, 1932, son of the late James and Josephine (Perry) Steen.

He was a former carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and later retired as the assistant engineer at the St. Albans Ice Company.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Wall) Steen of St. Albans; a brother-in-law, Larry Wall and his wife Shirley of Swanton; his four cats, Casper, Josephine, Bailey and Nygeleen; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special neighbors, Michael and Sherry Boulerice and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002. Interment will follow in the Steen family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Tuesday).

Memorials may be made in masses, or to the St. Anne's Shrine Building Fund, P.O. Box 280, Isle La Motte, Vt. 05463.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

LLOYD G. "TOONEY" MERCIER

SWANTON -- Lloyd G. "Tooney" Mercier, 79, a lifelong Swanton resident died Saturday evening, Aug. 31, 2002, in his Church Street residence after a long battle with cancer.

Tooney was born in Swanton June 18, 1923, the son of the late William and Etta (Champagne) Mercier. He attended St. Anne's Academy and graduated from Swanton High School.

In earlier years Tooney owned and operated Mercier's Auto Parts located on First Street in Swanton Village. He was also very involved in real estate, owning several properties in the Swanton area. He would be seen on a daily basis throughout the community faithfully attending to his duties as a landlord. He will especially be remembered for the love he had for his summer home on Maquam Shore in St. Albans Town.

Tooney leaves his daughter, Robin Mercier of Milton; his friend and companion of 31 years, Florabelle Brow of Swanton; a sister, Eileen Mercier; and a sister-in-law, Alene Mercier both of Swanton. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kelsey MacArt and Brody Reed, born on August 31, 2002, both of Milton; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Clyde "Zub" Mercier Sr. and Herman "Zenie" Mercier, predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton. The pastor, Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Mercier family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Gifts in Tooney's memory may be made to the, Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

DANNY L. WILLIAMSON

ST. ALBANS/BRATTLEBORO -- Danny L. Williamson, 44, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, in Brattleboro. He was born in Burlington, June 30, 1958, the son of Patricia (Pudvah) Williamson and the late Leslie "John Henry" Williamson.

Danny was a 1976 graduate of Bellows Free Academy. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and will be remembered for his skills with a backhoe and bulldozer.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Williamson of St. Albans; his sister, Lesleigh Jarrett and her husband, Donald of Swanton; a brother, Michael Williamson and Elaine Burrow of St. Albans; nephews, Kristopher Jarrett and Adam Jarrett; a niece, Lynn and her husband, Eric Daudelin, and their daughter, Avery; his aunts, Dareen Belanger, Lois Wright, Nancy Bourgeois and Charlotte Pudvah. He also leaves a special family, Robin and Rick Scott and daughter, Elizabeth; Walter and Kimberly Northam; several cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, John Henry Williamson on June 20, 1997, his maternal grandparents, Leo and Irma Pudvah, and paternal grandparents, Edward and Edith Williamson, four uncles, Francis Pudvah, Stuart Williamson, Lionel Belanger and Reginald Williamson.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans.
