GRACE E. TUCKER

VERGENNES -- Grace E. Tucker, age 95, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury. She was born in Enosburg Falls, Oct. 9, 1907, the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (LaFountain) Tucker.

Grace has made her home in Vergennes for the past eight months and was a former resident of Connecticut, where she was employed at Pratt & Whitney for several years, retiring in 1965. Prior to living in Connecticut, she was employed as a nanny and housekeeper for Governor Smith.

She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Wilson of Gloversville, N.Y., and Lenore Shewell and her husband Ernie of Middlebury; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Lydia Tucker and Mildred Ritchie; and a brother, Gordon Tucker.

Funeral services will be held next spring at the convenience of the family, with burial taking place in the Missisquoi Cemetery in Enosburg Falls. There will be no visiting hours.

For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 338 River St., Montpelier, Vt. 05602.

Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls is in charge of arrangements.

THOMAS H. BRISSON

WINOOSKI -- Funeral services celebrating the life of Thomas H. Brisson were held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski with Rev. Paul St. James officiating. The music was by Lucille and Bruce Dupont.

Interment followed in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Colchester with Father St. James offering committal prayers.

H. ROSAMOND (ROS) MAYNARD

ST. ALBANS -- A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. H. Rosamond (Ros) Maynard, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in Holy Angels Church. Father Maurice Roy was the celebrant. Assisting Father Roy on the altar was Norman Blouin. Claire Hungerford was the organist and soloist. Scripture readings were read by Sara Chung and Anthony Langevin. Offertory gifts were presented by her grandchildren Sarah and Tyler Blouin and Anthony Langevin.

Bearers were Tyler Blouin, Henri Langevin, Jason Luman, Andre Blouin, Lieut. Joseph Beaudry, and Firefighter Michael Bushey. Honorary bearers were her grandson Anthony Langevin and Firefighter Jeffrey Levesque.

An honor guard was formed at the entrance of church by the Ladies of St. Anne and the firefighters of St. Albans City and Town Fire Departments. The procession was escorted to Holy Cross Cemetery, for interment, by the St. Albans City Fire Dept. Unit 316, driven by Firefighter Vance Picard.

Delegations were in attendance from St. Albans City Fire Dept., St. Albans City Public Works Dept., St. Albans City Officials, St. Albans City Police Dept., St. Albans Central Dispatchers, St. Albans Town Fire Dept., Cioffi Real Estate and Corner Store, Ladies of St. Anne, American Legion Post #1 and Auxiliary Unit #1, VFW Post #758, and Auxiliary Unit #1, Franklin County Clerks Office, Handy Dodge and Toyota, St. Mary's Class of 1951, Baraby Electric, Biggie Advertising, Ed & Rosemarie White Auto Sales, St. Albans City Elementary School, Langevin Construction, St. Albans Town Clerk's Office, Residence of Heritage Lane, Hemond Auto Body, S.B. Collins, the Wednesday Night Dart League, Paul Poquette Real Estate, and Goulette Insurance.

On Friday afternoon, Father Roy conducted a Christian Wake Service with Ros's family. The Ladies of St. Anne also conducted a Prayer Service for the Deceased with Rosalie Jacques presiding.Arrangements were entrusted to her friends at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

VICKI LEE CLARK

RICHFORD -- Vicki Lee Clark, age 49, died Thursday evening, Dec. 12, 2002, at her home with her family at her side, due to complications of cancer.

Vicki was born in St. Albans, Sept. 21, 1953, the daughter of the late Richard and Lucille (Cook) Brown.

Vicki was a life long resident of Richford, a 1971 graduate of Richford High School and a 1979 graduate of Johnson State College. Vicki will be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, artistic talents, singing voice during Hometown Follies, and her free spirit.

She is survived by her partner of 30 years, Jerry Clark of Richford; her son, Atlee Clark of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Carolyn Reilly of Barre and Jaska Sheperd of Richford; niece and nephews.

In keeping with Vicki's wishes, she will be cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held next spring in the Hillside Cemetery in Richford, at the convenience of the family.

PHYLLIS ANN TYLEE

ST. ALBANS -- Phyllis Ann Tylee, 85, a longtime resident of this area, passed away unexpectedly at her home. She was born in Newton, Mass., Aug. 16, 1917, the daughter of the late Frederick G. Schipper and Dorothy (Caldwell) Schipper. She was the widow of Clinton W. Tylee, Jr., who died March 28, 1987. Together, they owned and operated Tylee's Yachting Service and Marina in St. Albans Bay.

Phyllis was a graduate of Newton High School and Hickox Secretarial School in Boston. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Kerbs Memorial Hospital (now NMC), The Women's Fellowship of the First Congregational Church, The Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Franklin County Business and Professional Women.

Phyllis is survived by four nieces, Dorothy Hyde of Miami Fla., Virginia Munson of Demorest, Ga., Carole Norman of Morriston, Fla. and Phyllis Behrens of Cleveland, Ga.; eight grand-nieces and nephews; and one great-grand-nephew. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Dorothy Schipper Barnes.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church.

Gifts in Phyllis' memory may be made to Northwestern Medical Center, P.O. Box 1370, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans.

BERNARD P. WETHERBY

BERKSHIRE -- Bernard P. Wetherby, age 68, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

He was born in Enosburg Falls, April 4, 1934, the son of the late Cecil Wetherby Sr. and Myrtie (Fountaine) Wetherby.

Bernard was a resident of Berkshire most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was employed at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans for 20 years, retiring in 1989. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years, earning every rank possible and served at various state and local levels. He also served as a lister and auditor for the town of Berkshire. Bernard was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby (Levick) Wetherby of Berkshire; two sons, David Wetherby and his wife Kathy of Berkshire, and Peter Wetherby and his friend Tina LeClair of Richford; a daughter, Linda Wetherby of Berkshire; five grandchildren, Jason and Heather Wetherby, and Matt, Dustin and Glen Wetherby; a brother, Cecil Wetherby Jr. and his wife Hilda of Highgate; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Reverend Ben Kiely celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery in Highgate.

Visiting hours will be held today, Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

FRANCES E. RIVERS

SOUTH BURLINGTON/FLETCHER -- Frances E. Rivers, 80, of Airport Parkway, died Thursday morning, Dec. 13, 2002, at the home of her son in South Burlington, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born April 20, 1922, in Fletcher, the daughter of the late Edward H. and Clara E. Sloan Doon. She was educated in the Fletcher school system and attended Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax. On Sept. 3, 1949, she married Edward J. Rivers. They moved to South Burlington in 1955, where they were members of St. John Vianney Church. Mr. Rivers predeceased her in March of 1986.

Mrs. Rivers was employed in retail sales at Sears for over 45 years, retiring in 1987. An active member of St. John Vianney Church, she also belonged to the Catholic Golden Age Society. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and attending Fiddlers contests. A very giving person, she loved to garden and raise flowers for her pleasure and enjoyment. She loved people and life and was always glad when able to visit with her neighbors. A very devoted mother and grandmother, she lived for and loved her children and grandchildren. They were her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Patty Aube and her husband Mark of Charlotte and Michael Rivers and his wife Holly of South Burlington; her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Amanda Aube of Charlotte and Lindsay and Michaela Rivers of South Burlington. Frances also leaves her sister, Agnes Snide of Essex Junction.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 16, at noon in St. John Vianney Church, Route 116, Hinesburg Road, South Burlington, with Father John Hamilton as celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The VNA Hospice program, c/o The Visiting Nurse Association, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, Vt. 05446.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7, in Milton.

BARBARA L. LADUE

HIGHGATE -- Barbara L. Ladue, age 80, widow of Albert Ladue, died Tuesday morning at Redstone Villa in St. Albans, following a long illness.

She was born in St. Albans, Oct. 25, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Emma (Fogg) Draper.

Barbara had been a resident of Sheldon and Highgate most of her life and attended the Catholic Church. She was employed by Fassetts Bakery in their St. Albans store, George Yett Bag Co. and at the Governor Smith Inn, retiring in 1980.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Ladue, and his wife Marcia of East Fairfield; four daughters, Sandra Smith and her husband Albert, and Brenda Trent of Largo, Fla., Gail Shorey and her partner Nancy Manney of Brandon, and Diane Parker and her husband Gary of Hampton, Conn; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Mitchell Ladue.

Friends may call on the family an hour prior to the funeral, which will be at the Spears Funeral Home on Dickinson Avenue, Friday morning at 11 with Reverend Benedict Kiely officiating.

In keeping with Barbara's wishes, she will be cremated following the funeral and her ashes will be interred in Greenwood Cemetery in St. Albans at a later date.

H. ROSAMOND (ROS) MAYNARD

ST. ALBANS -- H. Rosamond (Ros) Maynard, age 69, died surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday evening, Dec. 10, 2002, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in St. Albans, June 4, 1933, daughter of the late Charles V. and Gertrude M. (Leahy) Muldoon.

She graduated from St. Mary's High School with the Class of 1951. She married John Maynard in August of 1974. Mr. Maynard pre-deceased her Nov. 26, 1984.

Ros was the secretary of the St. Albans City Public Works Department for 1977 to 1988. She then went to be secretary at the Century Arms Company, retiring in 1995.

Ros was a proud member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #1, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Unit #758, the Wednesday Night Dart League, and the Ladies of St. Anne. Ros will also be remembered for providing sandwiches and drinks, during fires, for the St. Albans City Firefighters, whom she affectionately called "Her Boys."

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the McClure 3 ICU staff and especially Dr. A. Beatty, Dr. Julie Adams, and special nurses, Leigh Sears, Sharon Sopchyshyn, Kim Rhodes, and Andie Cunningham.

Mom, we love you and will miss you.

Ros is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Minotti and her husband Henri Langevin of Queensbury, N.Y., and Debra Blouin of St. Albans; three grandchildren, Sarah Blouin and her companion Jason Luman, Tyler Blouin, and Anthony Langevin; a very special friend, Kent LaCross; three cousins, Clare Muldoon, Trish Paquette and her husband Paul, and Mary Parisi; one sister-in-law, Claire Muldoon; two special canine friends, Teddy and Sophie; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by a sister, Allyn Secord and a brother, Ret. Lt. Col. John L. Muldoon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Interment will follow in the Muldoon family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday.

Memorials may be made to the St. Albans City Firefighters Association, 30 Lower Welden St. St. Albans, Vt. 05478, or the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

Arrangements are entrusted to her friends at Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
