DEAN ALLEN ROBAIR

SWANTON / HUNTINGTON -- Dean Allen Robair, 48, a resident of the Swanton community for the past 15 years, died Friday afternoon, July 4, 2003, at the home of his brother Ross Robair on Weaver Road in Huntington with family by his side.

Dean was born in Burlington, Sept. 14, 1954, the son of the late Hebert and Christina (Rines) Robair. He received his education attending Burlington High School as well as the Community College of Vermont.

Dean had a passion for building houses and worked in construction for most of his life. He most recently was associated as a foreman for Hubbard Construction.

Dean was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1090 and Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1566 both of St. Albans. In addition to building houses Dean's second passion was cooking and he will always be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman.

He leaves his daughter, Jennifer Robair of Burlington and a son, Dean Robair Jr., of Swanton and his best friend and mother of his children, Carolyn Robair of Swanton. Also surviving are his two brothers, Ross Robair and his wife Brenda of Huntington and their children Mark and Ross, Jr.; Gary Robair of Hinesburg and his children, Jessica Loomis and Jodie Casarico and a sister, Linda Aurand and her husband Scott of California and their children, Jamie, Sky and Brent Aurand as well as many close friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday evening, July 10, 2003, at 7 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Reverend Marcheta Townsend, pastor of the Highgate United Methodist Church will officiate.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until the hour of the funeral.

Gifts in Dean's memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association -- Hospice Program, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, Vt. 05446.

STELLA E. McCARTY

RICHFORD -- Stella E. McCarty, age 90, died Thursday evening, July 3, 2003, at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford. She was born Dec. 20, 1912, in Montgomery Center, the daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Deuso) Lavalla.

She was a resident of Richford most of her life and a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Ladies of St. Anne Society, Richford D.A.V. Auxiliary, and Gold Star Wife of America. Stella enjoyed arts & crafts and especially taking care of her family.

She is survived by a son, Paul McCarty of Woonsocket, R.I.; a daughter, Erma Stough of Georgia; several nieces and nephews including, Ada Anderson of Richford and Charles Lavalla of Hinsdale, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Florence Towle of Enosburg Falls. She was predeceased by her husband William C. McCarty on Dec. 20, 1980; three sisters, Ada Chappell, Hazel Lumbra, and Erma Deuso; a brother, Laurence Lavalla.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 7, 2003, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Frank Eksterowicz celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center.

Visiting hours were held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford.

KENNETH W. GLIDDEN

DALTON, Mass. -- Kenneth W. Glidden, 84, formerly of High Street, died at Berkshire Medical Center on Monday, June 30. Born in Frelishburg, Quebec, Canada, July 3, 1918, the son of John H. and Bertha Mae Bates Glidden, he attended school in East Franklin, Vt.

He was employed on the family farm in Franklin from 1933 to 1950, when he went to work at the Fitchburg Lumberyard in Fitchburg, Mass., where he was employed from 1950 to 1960 and 1965 to 1971. From 1960 to 1965 he was employed at the Littleton Electronics Shop, and from 1972 until 1980 at Hillcrest Hospital in Pittsfield, Mass. in the Housekeeping Department.

Mr. Glidden was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Berkshire, Mass.

He was married on April 22, 1973, to the former Winifred Hopkins, who died Oct. 10, 2001.

Mr. Glidden leaves a brother, Reuben Glidden of Franklin, Vt.; a sister, Ruth Gove of Gardener, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews, amongst which is his caregiver, Penny Taylor of Pittsfield, Mass.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 12, at 2 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Reverend Leo Poirier, pastor officiating. Reverend David Beguin, pastor of the Evangelical Free Church, will assist. Following cremation, burial was in the Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton, Mass. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in care of the Bartlett-Wellington Funeral Home, 525 Main St., Dalton, Mass., 01226.

HARRIET JANE CLARK

ST. ALBANS -- Harriet Jane Clark, age 75, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Ottawa, Ontario, the daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Hawley) Olmstead.

Harriet was raised in Sutton, Quebec. She married Frederick Clark June 28, 1947; they moved to Newport, Vt. in 1948. In 1954 they made their home in Richford. While in Richford she was a member of the Richford United Methodist. In 1984, they moved to Enosburg Falls. For the past three years they have made their home in St. Albans. Harriet enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers.

Harriet's family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the dialysis unit in St. Albans for the special care given to her over the last several years.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick Clark of St. Albans; two sons, Frederick O. Clark of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Robert A. Clark of St. Albans; a daughter, Catherine J. Clark of Morrisville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbra Cowan of Sutton, Que.; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Harriet's wishes, she will be cremated. Memorial services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

DAVID G. JOHNSON, SR.

NEWPORT -- Mr. David G. Johnson, Sr. of Elm Street, Newport, died suddenly on July 1, 2003, in Morrisville. He was born March 21, 1936, in Newport, the son of Ernest and Ruth (Fordyce) Johnson.

On Oct. 10, 1954, he married Shyrlee Prebor, who predeceased him. Mr. Johnson was foreman and equipment operator for the City of Newport for 15 years until his retirement due to an injury.

Dave also served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 21 of Newport. He enjoyed his work with the city crew, but especially with the Newport Fire Department where he served as a firefighter, captain, and engineer for over 29 years under Chief's Malcolm Wallace and Leo Parenteau.

Dave also enjoyed traveling and camping with his late wife as it became a big priority in their lives, especially after his retirement. They were seasonal campers at Lake View Campground in Eden where he was the campground maintenance man the last couple of years.

He is survived by his son, David Johnson, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Enid Prebor of North Carolina; a special nephew, Steve Place and his friend Betty Trucotte; and by other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Ruth Johnson Place.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2003, at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport (formerly Sias Avenue) with the Reverend Roger Fletcher officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. before the memorial service on Monday. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery with full military honors.

Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the Newport Fire Department, in care of R.J.'s Friendly Market, Main Street, Newport, Vt. 05855.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Homes, locally family owned and operated.

BEVERLYANN ELLEN DELISLE

HIGHGATE CENTER -- Beverlyann Ellen Delisle, 65, a lifelong resident of the Highgate Community, died Sunday evening, June 29, 2003, in her Lamkin Street residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Highgate, March 28, 1938, the daughter of the late Louis and Florence (Minkler) Greenia. She attended Highgate Schools and worked several years as a seamstress for Lillian Decelle.

Beverly will be remembered as an avid reader and game player. She especially loved Bingo and was known to always frequent the Nativity, St. Louis, Swanton Fire Department and The Casino Bingo's.

She leaves a daughter, Spring Beyor and her husband James B. Beyor, Sr. and their children, James B. Beyor, Jr., and his wife Amber (Rushlow) Beyor and their children, Dylan and Kaylee Beyor, Jonathon Beyor and Wendy Brean and their son, Brendon Beyor; a son, Christopher Robin William Delisle and his wife Mary (Bray) Delisle and their children, Christopher Jr. and Damien Delisle and Anthony and Connie Bray and Connie's daughter, Destiny. Also surviving are her siblings, Doris Cotnoir, Harold Greenia and his former wife Virginia Greenia and their children, Harold Greenia, Jr., Debbie and David Greenwood, Jeff and Sophie Greenia, Joe and Crystal Greenia, Patty Greenia, Robbie and Nickie Greenia; Louis and Shirley Greenia and their children, Bonnie and Ron Messier, Louis and Tammy Greenia, Matthew and Dee Greenia, Cindy and David Lumbra, Sherrie and Scott Careau; Mark Greenia and his children, Mark and Debbie Greenia Jr., Michael and Beth Greenia, Diane and Pierre Ferland, Gilbert Thompson, Lester and Lori Thompson; also Margaret Bockus children, Kathy Hoague Lamarche and Marcel, Mike and Jennie Bockus, Ronnie and Julie Bockus, Roy Bockus, Brian and Hope Bockus; Douglas and Priscilla Greenia, Nicole and Albert Clapper, Darci Greenia, Douglas Greenia II, and Marissa and Leonard Knight; Joan and John Mitchell and their children, Crystal and Richard Theoret, Wendy and David St. Francis, Tracy Theoret and deceased Roxanne Bussino as well as several special great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Louis Greenia, Sr., and her mother Florence Minkler Craig Greenia, she was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Bockus and a special niece, Roxanne Bussino.

Beverly's family would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit and the Medical/Surgical Unit at Northwestern Medical Center, Franklin County Home Health Agency -- Hospice Program and the nursing staff on McClure 6 at Fletcher Allen Health Care for all of their love care and support during Beverly's long illness.

Funeral Services were held at Beverly's late home on Monday, June 30, 2003, at 10 a.m. Father Leonidas B. Laroche, pastor of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Parish in St. Albans officiated. Interment services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Gifts in Beverly's memory may be made to Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478 or to the American Diabetes Association, Vermont Affiliate, 77 Hegeman Avenue, Colchester, Vt. 05446.

Arrangements have been under the direction of The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton.

BEVERLYANN ELLEN DELISLE

HIGHGATE CENTER -- Beverlyann Ellen Delisle, 65, a lifelong resident of the Highgate Community, died Sunday evening, June 29, 2003, in her Lamkin Street residence surrounded by her loving family.
