EVELYN GOLDSBURY BISSONNETTE

BURLINGTON -- Evelyn Goldsbury Bissonnette, 94, of Ethan Allen Parkway, went peacefully to her beloved Lord on Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care. Evelyn, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister was born in Barre, Vt. on Oct. 28, 1909, the daughter of Carroll and Emma (LaFlamme) Goldsbury. After 25 years as Chief Operator for the New England Telephone Company she married Arthur J. Bissonnette on Feb. 4, 1955 in Burlington. Together they spent nearly 49 wonderful years. She is a member of St. Mark's Parish. She was blessed with one son, Michael J. Bissonnette.

She is survived by her son and his wife Dawn of Colchester; her two grandchildren whom she adored, Justin J. and Joel A. Bissonnette both of Colchester. She is also survived by two beloved sisters, Esther Fregeau and Irene Bouchard both of St. Albans; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Bill Goldsbury; and by two sisters, Ruth Mulvey and Sister Margaret
Goldsbury, C.N.D.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at 1 p.m. in St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow in New Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Burlington Fire Department Station 4, or to St. Mark's Parish.

ROSE P. TESSIER

ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Rose P. Tessier, age 76, died Saturday morning, Nov. 29, 2003, at Haven Health Care Center, following an extended illness. She was born in St. Albans, Feb. 15, 1927, daughter of the late Lador and Alma (Jacques) Garceau.

She has been a lifelong communicant of Holy Angels Church. Rose was a bookkeeper at Union Carbide Consumer Products and later at Fonda Container Group.

Rose is survived by her two daughters, Lee Frazier and her friend Jeff Deuso of St. Albans; and Jean and her husband Roger Patenaude of St. Albans; three dearly loved grandchildren, Gregg Patenaude of San Diego, Calif., Jared Patenaude and Vicki Patenaude, both of St. Albans; three sisters, Blanche (Anna) Mossey of Southboro, Mass., Marguerite and her husband George "Pete" Young of Enosburg, Harriet Garceau of Port Orange, Fla.; her brother, George and his wife Maria Garceau of Barre; a sister-in-law, Yollande Garceau; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Adrian Garceau, who was killed during World War II, Theresa Kurek, Cecile Lamphere, Jeannine Colvin and Jean Garceau.

A graveside funeral service will be held this week at a time to be announced. Interment will be in the Garceau family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

At her request, there will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow the services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

MILA E. ROGERS

WEST NEWBURY, Vt. -- Mila E. Rogers, 98, of Rogers Hill Road in West Newbury, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, N.H.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1905, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of John and Alma (St. John) Egley. When she was 6 years old, she moved from Arizona to Chelsea, Vt., where she attended schools.

In 1923, she was married to Lloyd B. Rogers of West Newbury, Vt. She was predeceased by her husband in 1983. She had made her home on Rogers Hill Road ever since, where she and her husband ran the family farm for many years. She enjoyed everything there was about farming and being outdoors. She would make meals for many of the hunters that would come to Rogers Hill to hunt deer in November, and she enjoyed playing cards and music, but her family always came first, no matter what.

She is survived by: two daughters, May Shearer, of St. Albans, and Polly Van Buren, of Newbury; three sons, Oliver "Bud" Rogers, of Bradford, Theodore "Ted" Rogers, of Bradford, and Steven Rogers, of West Newbury; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Alma Turner of Palm Bay, Fla.; and one brother, Bruce Roberts of Hendersonville, Tenn.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the West Newbury Church with Rev. Donald Towle officiating. There are no calling hours.

Interment will be this spring in the family lot in West Newbury Cemetery.

Hale Funeral Home of Bradford is in charge of arrangements.

ALICE V. DEUSO

ENOSBURG FALLS -- Alice V. Deuso, age 80, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at the Haven Health Care Nursing Home in St. Albans.

She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Wethersfield, Vt., the daughter of the late Carl and Rachel (Buckman) Lombard.

She was a resident of Enosburg Falls for the past 10 years and was a former resident of Montgomery Center where she cared for elderly people which brought her great joy. She was a member of St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center. She had also lived in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

She is survived by her son, David Deuso of Swanton; two nieces, Viola Lafont of Claremont, N.H. and Millie Blue of Windsor, Vt. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Deuso; and a sister, Louise Fluette.

There will be no funeral services or visiting hours at this time. A graveside service will be held this spring at St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center.

For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Isidores Catholic Church, Route 242, Montgomery Ctr., Vt. 05471.

Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls is in charge of arrangements.

MABEL J. GARDNER

ST. ALBANS/SWANTON -- Mrs. Mabel J. Gardner, age 74, widow of Joseph W. Gardner, Jr., died Monday evening, Jan. 26, with her loving family at her bedside, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care following a long period of failing health.

She was born in Fairfax, Sept. 21, 1929, daughter of the late Paul and Laura (Burnor) Robtoy. She married Joseph W. Gardner, Jr., Sept. 25, 1950. Mr. Gardner died Nov. 9, 2003.

Mabel is survived by her two children, Donna and her husband Richard Boutah of Swanton, and Gary and his wife Susan Gardner of St. Albans; two grandchildren, Richard D. Boutah, Jr., and Becky Jo and her husband Ian Zier; two great-grandchildren, Mikayla Boutah and Karley Jo Zier; her step-mother, Lillian Robtoy of St. Albans; sisters Rhoda Lamos, Peggy Donahue and Paula Corey; brothers Landon Robtoy and Joseph Robtoy; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Carmi, Murray and Gordon Robtoy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be this spring in the Gardner family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

SANDRA R. COUSINEAU

ST. ALBANS/FRANKLIN -- Mrs. Sandra R. Cousineau, age 63, died at her home Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, following an extended illness. She was born in Fairfield on Oct. 7, 1940 daughter of Sedrick and Marion (Callan) Abell.

Her survivors include her five children, Rolla "Tom" and his wife Linda Cousineau of St. Angels de Premont, Quebec, Lisa Pafundi of Cambridge, Tamrny Cousineau of Crossville, Tenn., Robert "Joe" and his wife Lisa Cousineau of Geneva, Wis., Mikelle and her husband Dennis Delisle of Enosburg; nine grandchildren, Alex Cousineau, Jacob Pafundi, Sarah Tuttle, Mark Tuttle, Zackery Cousineau, Naomi Patterson, Jessie Patterson; her father Sedrick Abell of St. Albans; brother and sisters and their spouses, Sally and Harvey Boudreau of Franklin, Rodney and Maryln Abell of Montgomery, Carol and Don Richard of Franklin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Sarah, several years ago; and by her mother Marion Callan Abell on May 23, 1996.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Brady & Levesque Chapel at 86 South Main Street. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be next spring in the Abell family lot in Sheldon Village Cemetery.

LINDA D. RACINE

GEORGIA -- Linda D. Racine, 56, of Route 104 A Highbridge Road, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at her home in Georgia.

Linda was born March 2, 1947, in Mt. Clemens, Mich., the daughter of William and Marion Thomas Henrion. She graduated from Lance Cruse High School in Mt. Clemens in 1965.

On Aug. 25, 1979, she married Roger J. Racine Jr. in Michigan.

Linda enjoyed spending precious moments with her two grandchildren and going to bingo in her spare time. An avid outdoors person, Linda truly enjoyed being outside. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. But what she enjoyed the most was being surrounded by her loving family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Roger of Georgia, and their four children, Kenneth Vietor and his wife Jennifer of Milton and Jeffrey, Cheyne and Shelby Racine all of Georgia; her two grandchildren, Griffin and Cullen Vietor of Milton; her mother, Marion Graus and her husband Frank of Venice, Fla.; her brothers, Harold Henrion and his wife Joan of Mt. Clemens, Mich., Ronald Henrion of Sterling Heights, Mich. and William Henrion Jr. and his wife Cindy of Port Huron, Mich.; a step-sister, Deletta Wytucki; her brothers-in-law, Gary Racine and his wife Wendy of Shelburne, David Racine and his wife Leah of Grand Isle, Ronald Racine of Burlington; and her sister-in-law, Jacinta Monniere and her husband Edward of Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews and close friends, as well as her special niece, Julie Souza of Jericho, and her very good friend, Kim Blackmore of Georgia. She was predeceased by her father, William in 1996; her sister, Sharon Hohf in 2002; and her sister-in-law, Jane Paulsen in 1984.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home Route 7 in Milton. Burial will be held in the spring in the Milton Village Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Vt. Office, 77 Hegeman Avenue, Colchester, Vt. 05446, or to the American Heart Association, New England Affiliate, 20 Speen St. Framingham, Mass. 01701-4688.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, Milton.

PATRICK E. RIDEOUT SR.

ESSEX/SWANTON - Patrick E. Rideout Sr., 65, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Burlington on March 17, 1938, the son of Earl T. and Madelaine (Marrier) Rideout.

He was a 1951 graduate of Cathedral High School and, thereafter, joined the U.S. Navy. On March 16, 1963, he married the now deceased Beverley A. Savage.

His accomplishments were far and wide. He spent 20 years in softball, beginning as a fastpitch pitcher, bringing his team to many State, New England and Regional Championships. He then umpired for 20 years, six years of which were as the State A.S.A. Umpire In Chief. He attained the distinction of umpiring at two National Tournaments.

Pat was a member of Local 693, Plumbing and Pipe Fitters Union for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge, first in Burlington, later transferring to St. Albans. He was instrumental in winning the 1982 Elks Lodge State Billiard Championship. He was also a member of the American Legion for several years. He enjoyed many outdoor sports and activities including: hunting, fishing, golf, gardening at home and his hobby of collecting Beanie Babies.

He is survived by his wife, Diane M. (Cyr) Bilodeau-Rideout, of Swanton; his four children and their spouses: Tamara M. and Jeffery Richland of Colchester, Patrick E. Jr. and Teresa Rideout of Georgia, James D. and Carolyn Rideout of Milton and Jennifer A. Rideout of Winooski; two stepchildren and their spouses, Brenda and Kip Lavo of Effort, Pa., and Myrian Bilodeau of Swanton. He especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his 13 grandchildren: Jessica, Victoria, Tyler, Joshua, Kody, Kayla, Timothy, Elizabeth, Kaitlin, Michael, Korin, Sadie and Maximus. He also leaves three sisters and their husbands: Marylou and Mike Benoit of Colchester, Ruth and Alan Clark of South Hero, and Martha and Fred Benway of Colchester; his brother, David and his wife, Lea Rideout, of Milton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his first wife and parents, Pat was predeceased by his brother, Richard Rideout of Biddeford, Maine.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to The Franklin County Home Hospice Program and to his many friends for all their love and concern.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Burlington, with interment following in Resurrection Park, South Burlington. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington.
