FLORINA CORRINE KING

SWANTON -- Mrs. Florina Corrine King, 95, a lifelong resident of this area, died early Saturday morning, Feb. 7, 2004, in Haven Health Center in St. Albans Town.

She was born in Swanton, Jan. 9, 1909, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Elodia (Santerre) Jette. She attended the former St. Anne's Academy and on Dec. 1, 1928 married Homer L. King, who predeceased her on Sept. 10, 1975.

For many years, Mrs. King had been a very active member of the Hi-Swans Senior Citizens and is well-remembered for the many years that she delivered Meals on Wheels to the shut-ins in the community. She was a lifelong member of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and also belonged to the parish Altar Society.

She leaves five daughters, Marie Day of Alburg, Kathleen Coon and her husband Robert of St. Albans Bay, Rose Swanberg and her husband George of Delran, N.J., Helen Stimets and her husband Dr. Wendell of Swanton, and Debbie LeBeau and her husband Larry of Swanton; three sons, Arthur King and his wife Jean of Newington, Conn., Robert King and his wife Sheila of Newington, Conn. and George King and his wife Diane of Newington, Conn.; two step-daughters, Veronica Benoit of Enosburg and Barbara King and her husband Elmer of California; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Laura Deforge and Rose Eva Holub, a stepson, Guilford King, and a son-in-law, James Day, predeceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the King family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers gifts in Mrs. King's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Unit at Haven Health Center, in care of, Penny Pike, 560 Sheldon Road, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

LILLIAN M. PAQUETTE

WEST BERKSHIRE -- Lillian M. Paquette, age 84, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at the Haven Health Nursing Home in St. Albans.

She was born April 21, 1919 in West Berkshire the daughter of the late George and Celanire (Demain) Boucher.

She was a life long resident of West Berkshire and a member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in East Berkshire, where she also taught religious education for several years. Along with her husband Victor, they farmed for many years, retiring in 1958, at which time their nephew and his wife, Jean Guy Viens and the late Lillian Viens, operated the farm until they purchased it in 1977. Lillian enjoyed and was an avid bowler.

She is survived by her son, Romeo Coulombe and his wife Janet of West Berkshire; a grandson, Alan Michael Coulombe of West Berkshire; two sisters, Beatrice Boucher and Rita Boucher of Boston, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews including her godchildren, Rose Marie Paquette, Monica Paquette Neveau, Clement Paquette, and Flaurette Paquette Godin; and former daughter-in-law, Joanne Getty of Enosburg Falls. She predeceased by her husband, Victor Paquette, Feb. 12, 1994; and a brother, George Boucher, Oct. 4, 2001.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday morning, January 11, 2004, at 11 at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford. Interment will be this spring in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

ROGER N. PAGE

NEWPORT, N.H. -- Roger N. Page, 53, of Newbury, N.H., passed away unexpectedly in Newport, N.H. on Sunday, Feb. 1.

He was born Jan. 24, 1951, in Claremont, N.H., the son of Laurence and Thelma (Wells) Page. He received his schooling in Windsor and St. Albans, Vt. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans in 1971. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was currently employed at Mt. Sunapee Ski Area in Sunapee, N.H.

He is survived by two sons, Jason Page of Highland Ranch, Colo. and Jamie Page of St. Albans, Vt.; one daughter, Amanda Haggard of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Oliver Wells of Wren, Ga. and Edward Page of Reidsville, N.C.; two sisters, Janice Bittenger of Glendale, Ariz. and Sheila Demag of Graniteville, Vt.; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Laurence A. Page in 1990, and Douglas G. Page in 1996.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date at the family lot in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor, Vt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family, in care of Sheila Demag, P.O. Box 67, Graniteville, Vt. 05654.

DOROTHY A. HOWE

WINDSOR, Vt. -- Dorothy A. Howe, 90, died Friday late morning, Jan. 30, 2004, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, Vt. She was born Oct. 30, 1913, in Massachusetts, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel (Folsom) Howe.

She was trained as an elementary school teacher and taught kindergarten her entire career. She worked at schools in Bradford, Norwich, and for over 50 years in Wilder, Vt. and White River Junction. She lived most of her adult life in the White River Junction area and has lived at the Davis Home in Windsor.

She is survived by her brother, Clifford E. Howe and sister-in-law, Mary Howe of Milton; her dearest friend and cousin, Freda Aldrich of White River Junction; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held in the spring at the Tunbridge Church in Tunbridge, Vt. A spring committal service will follow in the Spring Road Cemetery, also in Tunbridge.

The Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea, Vt. is in charge of arrangements.

MARJORIE ANNE LAMSON BRIGHAM

EAST RANDOLPH -- Marjorie Anne Lamson Brigham, age 89, of East Randolph, passed away Feb. 3, 2004, at Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, where she had resided for the past two years.

Marjorie was born in Royalton on Jan. 10, 1915, the daughter of the late Nelson G. and Ruth A. Lamson. She attended Royalton School and was a graduate of South Royalton High School in 1932 as Salutatorian of her class.

She was married o Wendell P. Brigham in 1932 and they later were divorced.

Marjorie lived in East Randolph area all of her adult life until moving to Williamstown Square in Williamstown in 1997 to be near her daughter.

Marjorie was a devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flowers. She had beautiful African Violets.

Marjorie was a 75 year member of Middle Branch Grange, where she held several offices and was active on committees. She attending meetings as long as she was able. She also was an active member of the Merry Makers Home Dem Club.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Marilyn White and her husband Donald of Montpelier, and their children Christopher White and Rosemarie Barrett; daughter Darlene Wright and her husband Carroll of Enosburg Falls, and their children Sharyn Abbott, Dean Wright, Brenda Goodhue and Amy Parent; and son, Maurice Brigham and his wife Judi of Bethel, and their children Nathan and Jessica Brigham; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are sisters, Helen Coburn of Surry, N.H., Ruth Chandler and her husband, William and Jean Tucker and her husband, Fred of Woodstock; brother, Robert Lamson and his wife Maydene of Royalton; and sister-in-law, Alice Lamson of Pomfret; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Guy, Frank, Clifton and James.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Middle Branch Grange, c/o Lois Wakefield, 42 Weston St., Randolph, Vt., or to the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center, Activity Fund, 98 Hospitality Drive, Barre, Vt. 05641.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph, with Reverend Albert Collins officiating. Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the spring at the North Royalton Cemetery.

BOB BLISS

ST. ALBANS, Vt. / STUART, Fla. -- Robert P. Bliss, Jr., 80, died unexpectedly, early Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, 2004, in Stuart, Fla.

Mr. Bliss was born in St. Albans, Vt. Sept. 8, 1923, the son of Robert P., Sr. and Edith Tuscany Bliss, both deceased. He was born and educated in the State of Vermont. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Kidder) Bliss, who he married Feb. 15, 1947. Also surviving him are his son, Jack and his wife Lynnda; his daughter-in-law, Janice Corrigan and her husband Michael; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mary McGarey Madkour of Bennington. His son, Robert G. Bliss, Sr., Esq., predeceased him in 1977; as well as a sister Barbara Counos in 1994.

Mr. Bliss was involved in a variety of business interests during his lifetime relating to Insurance and Real Estate. He was past member and Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Insurance Agents and past Vice-President and Director of the Independent Mutual Agents of New England. He also served on the Boards of Directors of several Vermont companies, including the Union Mutual Insurance Group, Franklin-Lamoille Bank, Banknorth Group, Vermont Mortgage Company, Central Vermont Public Service Corp., Vermont Electric Power Co., and Jay Peak. He also served the State of Vermont as a member of the Vermont Pollution Abatement Authority and the Vermont Industrial Development Authority.

As he was always interested in Education, he served on the St. Albans School board for several years, was founder and President of the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of St. Albans. Mr. Bliss also served on the University of Vermont Board of Trustees for six (6) years and was Chairman 1984-85.

Active in Masonic Circles, Mr. Bliss was a member of all York Rite bodies, Past Master of Franklin Lodge 4, F&AM and Past Potentate of Mt. Sinai Temple 3, Montpelier.

In health related activities, Mr. Bliss served as Chairman of the Kerbs Hospital Incorporators, and subsequently, the Northwestern Medical Center Incorporators. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Shriners Hospital, Montreal, Quebec. He was also a past board member of Franklin-Grand Isle Mental Health, Inc. and the University Health Center, Burlington, Vt.

Mr. Bliss served in the Pacific Theater during World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps and also served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American veterans.

During his lifetime he was always active in community affairs -- a member of the Rotary Club for over 50 years and the Elks Club for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at 10 a.m. from St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 11 Church Street, St. Albans City. The Reverend Oren Lane and The Reverend Marcheta Townsend will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Swanton.

Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Mr. Bliss' memory may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Church Street, St. Albans, Vt. 05478. THOMAS E. RICKABAUGH

BROWN MILLS, N.J. -- Thomas E. Rickabaugh of 52 Meadowbrook Drive, Browns Mills, N.J., passed away on Jan. 31 2004, at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton, N.J.

He was born in Altoona, Pa. on May 28, 1938, son of Lawrence E. and Esther (Schirf) Rickabaugh, and was married to Annette C. Houle of St. Albans, Vt. in 1958.

Surviving are his wife Annette of 45 years; four children, Thomas Jr. of Swanton Vt., Todd and wife Denise of McGuire AFB, N.J., Terry Haines and husband Mark of Pemberton, N.J., and Scott of St. Albans; 10 grandchildren; mother, Esther; two brothers and two sisters and their spouses, Lawrence of Amesbury, Mass., Donna and Jerry of York, Pa., Ethel and Ronnie of Altoona, Pa., and Michael and Dianna of Kissimmee Fla.

Thomas enlisted in the USAF in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was then employed by the trucking industry for the following 35 years.

While a resident of Vermont, Mr. Rickabaugh was a member of American legion Post 1 in St. Albans. The St. Albans Bay area, where he met his wife, has always been a special place for him. Those who knew him will remember him as pillar of strength and devotion to A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church of Browns Mills, N.J. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m.
