WILMA TOWLE LAMPMAN, R.N.

ALBURG CENTER / FRANKLIN -- Mrs. Wilma Towle Lampman, 93, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 19, 2004, at her home on Center Bay Road in Alburg Center.

Born in Berkshire, May 1, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Harlow and Julia (Colcord) Towle. On Sept. 14, 1935, she was married to Rupert N. Lampman, who predeceased her on March 4, 2000.

Wilma graduated from the former Franklin High School in the Class of 1931. Following her high school graduation, she entered the St. Albans City Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1933 as a Registered Nurse. Wilma spent all of her professional nursing career at the former St. Albans City Hospital.

Following retirement, she and her husband Rupert lived 23 years in Florida, returning to the homestead residence in Franklin, Vt. in 1999 and regularly attended the Franklin United Church. More recently, she has made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Chester and Beverly Lampman, in Alburg Center, where she attended the Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Rouses Point, N.Y.

Wilma leaves her two sons and their wives, Chester and Beverly Lampman of Alburg Center and Richard and Barbara Lampman of Chesterfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Mrs. Doris Riley, predeceased her on June 10, 2001.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at 11 a.m. from The Franklin United Church, Main Street, Franklin Village. The Reverend Jason McConnell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lampman family lot in the South Franklin Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.

Gifts in Wilma's memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, Vt. 05446, or to the charity of one's choice.

CHARLES PETER DEPATIE

ST. ALBANS, Vt. / STUART, Fla. -- Mr. Charles Peter Depatie, 84, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, in the Haven Health Care Center in St. Albans, following an extended illness.

Charles was born in St. Albans Dec. 8, 1919, son of the late Charles E. and Ellen (Shore) Depatie. He graduated from St. Mary's High school and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the Asiatic Theater from November 1944 to May of 1946. Upon discharge, Charles was employed by the Central Vermont Railway for the next 41 years. He retired Jan. 1, 1980, as the chief assistant to the mechanical officer and purchasing agent. He was a member of the Central Vermont Veterans Association, the B.P.O.E. (Elks Lodge) 1566, the Green Mountain Post # 1 of the American Legion, Robert E. Glidden Post 758 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

He married Helene Benjamin Oct. 1, 1940. Helene died Aug. 6, 1989. They spent their retirement years in Stuart, Fla., where Charles was an avid volunteer at the Martin Memorial Hospital. He received a citation for more than 10, 000 hours of volunteer service.

Survivors include his daughter, Jo McMahon and her husband, Michael of St. Albans; his son, Peter M. Depatie and his wife, Susan of Tampa, Fla.; four granddaughters, Meredith, Karen Megan and Allison; his great-grandson, Martin Perez; his sister, Madelyn Coleman and her husband, Ronald, of Milton; his two brothers, Damien Depatie, of Denver, Colo. and Frank Depatie and his wife, Todd, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; his sister-in-law, Betty Fleury and her husband, Jack, of Colchester; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Helene, Charles was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Ellen Depatie, in 1951.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Brady & Levesque Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home, 86 South Main St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Depatie family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. 0. Box 1460, Williston, Vt. 05459.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

JANET C. LeTOURNEAU

ST. ALBANS -- Janet C. LeTourneau, 73, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at the Haven Health Care Facility with her loving family at her side. She was born in Franklin on Feb. 5, 1931, a daughter of Doris (Pelkey) Casavant and the late Clifford D. Casavant. On July 8, 1954 from the Our Lady of the Lake Church at St. Albans Bay, Janet married Joseph Richard LeTourneau, who survives her. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary this past July.

For several years Janet was employed by the St. Albans Free Library and had more than 4, 000 hours of volunteer time for the Bert-Fish Hospital Auxiliary in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. She attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church in St. Albans. Janet enjoyed walking everyday, knitting, was an avid bowler and was a cat lover. She made two trips aboard two nuclear submarines, the U.S.S. Nautilus and the U.S.S. Swordfish with her husband, Richard. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Richard, of Edgewater, Fla.; her mother, Doris P. Casavant of St. Albans; her son, Mark LeTourneau and his wife, Georgette, of Ogden, Utah; her daughter, Martha Ryan and her husband, David, of St. Albans; two granddaughters, Annette and Sarah LeTourneau; two sisters, Barbara Kellum and her husband, Rotui, of West Nyack, N.Y. and Betty L'Esperance and her husband, Armand, of Swanton; two brothers, Bill Casavant and his wife, Pat, of Salisbury, Vt. and Peter Casavant and his wife, Lois, of South Burlington, Vt.; and several nieces, nephews and many close friends in Vermont and Florida. She was predeceased by her father, Clifford on Dec. 19, 1969.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at 7 p.m. from the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St. with the Reverend Dennis E. Hayward, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiating. Janet's family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.

DORIS M. CONSIDINE

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. / SWANTON, Vt. -- Doris M. Considine, 86, died on Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

Doris was born on Dec. 27, 1917, in Rutland Center, Vt., a daughter of Henry and Bertha (Wetmore) McMahon. During World War II, Doris worked at Jones & Lamson (J&L), a machine tool shop in Springfield, Vt. On Jan. 4, 1942, she married Charles J. Considine in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Rutland. In 1953, Doris and Charles moved their family to Essex Junction, where Doris worked as a receptionist of Dr. Malcolm Paulsen for 10 years. Doris and Charles also lived in Swanton for several years before retiring to Boynton Beach, Fla., to spend the winters. For the last year, Doris has resided in Swanton. She was also a summer resident of Spauldings West Shore for many years

Doris was the family's "Energizer Bunny." She was an active, witty and caring woman who will be sorely missed.

Doris was pre-deceased by her husband Charles and their infant son Johnny-Mike. She leaves behind five children, Sharon Corologos and her husband Paul, of Colchester, Deanna Fuller Edwards and her husband John, of Swanton, C. Joseph Considine of Swanton, Kathryn Mapp and her husband Richard, of Annandale, Va., and David J. Considine of Arlington, Va. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Lisa Paige Tallagnon, Jennifer, Wendy, Matt and Jeff Fuller, Christie Dunn, Heidi and Brynna Considine, Julianna, Heather and Richie Mapp, Jonathan Edwards, Aimee Batten, and one dear great-grandchild, Tessa Tallagnon. She also leaves her two sisters, Eleanor ("Susie") Kelly of Barre, Vt. and Joan Brace of Burlington, Vt., her sister-in-law Helen Herlihy of Rutland/Boynton Beach, Fla., her brother-in-law Harold Brock of Rutland, Vt., her dear cousin Agnes Lyons of Brattleboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, in Burlington, Vt. Visiting hours will be followed by a memorial service at the funeral home at 7 p.m. There will be a private family internment at a later date.

CHRISTOPHER LEE SHOVER

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. / SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Christopher Lee Shover, 33, formerly of the South Burlington area and more recently of Bloomfield, N.J., died early Saturday morning, Oct. 16, 2004, at University Hospital in Newark, N.J. following a battle with cancer.

Born in Burlington, Vt., he was a son of David and Colleen (Hall) Shover. He graduated from South Burlington High School with the Class of 1989, and in 1993, from Johnson - Wales College in Providence, R.I. with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

Most recently he was associated with Steve Madden Limited located in Long Island, N.Y., and earlier worked for Trans -World Music and Restoration Hardware in the Boston, Mass., area.

Chris leaves his father and stepmother, David and Pam Shover of Underhill; his mother Colleen Shover of Alburg; and his sister, Karen Maynard and her husband Joe of South Burlington. He also leaves an extended family throughout the New England area.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at 1 p.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Reverend Deborah Laporte will officiate. Interment will take place later at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling hours.

Gifts in Christopher's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Vermont Division, 150 Kennedy Drive, South Burlington, Vt. 05403, or to the charity of one's choice.

JANICE ELAINE LEACH

JEFFERSONVILLE - Janice Elaine Leach, 63, died Sunday evening, Oct. 17, 2004, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston, following a long illness. Janice was born in Gardner, Mass., on March 3, 1941, the daughter of Septime and Pauline (Brideau) Jaillet. On July 29, 1961, she married Lawrence Neil Leach in Gardner, Mass.

She had worked for S. Bent & Co. and Knapp Oil Co. in Massachusetts. In later years, upon moving to Vermont, she worked at Smugglers Notch Ski Area and Jana's Cupboard. Janice was well known for her love of family and friends. She always had a cheerful and kind word to say to anyone. One of her greatest passions was making hand made quilts and numerous sewing and craft projects. She was also an avid New York Yankees baseball fan.

In addition to her husband Neil, Janice is survived by her children Jonathan N. Leach of Hanson, Mass., Michael L. Leach and his wife Diane of Stowe, Vt., and Debra C. Leach of Salt Point, N.Y. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jordan and Alexandra, both of Stowe; by her brothers Kenneth Jaillet and his wife Priscilla of Massachusetts, Richard of Georgia, Harold Jaillet and his wife Dolores of Massachusetts; by her mother-in-law Sarah Leach and by her sister-in-law Joanne Leach both of Massachusetts; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her sister Carol Howlett.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated by Father Dan Jordan on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, 237 Rt. 7 So., in Milton.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, Vt. 05495 or to the Lamoille Home Health and Hospice, 54 Farr Avenue, Morrisville, Vt. 05661.

Arrangements are by the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

PHILIP H. HUMPHREY

RICHFORD - A committal graveside service was held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. in the Hillside Cemetery for Philip H. Humphrey, 78, who died Sept. 18, 2004, at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla.

He was born in Island Pond in 1926, a son of Herman and Veda (Head) Humphrey. He moved to Richford in 1927, attended the local schools and graduated as salutatorian in 1944.

While at Richford High School, he sang in the boys and mixed chorus, played on the baseball and basketball teams, served as a member and business manager of the Searchlight Board.

On July 23, 1944, he and his high school sweetheart, Doris Baker, were wed. In July of this year, they observed their 60th wedding anniversary in Brooksville, where they had resided about a year after living in Townsend, Mass., for many years. Philip had retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Cloverleaf Farms Veterans Group and the First Methodist Church of Brooksfield.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Gary Humphrey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Deborah Burns of Brooksville and Linda Ladner of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Jane Ware; a brother, Warren Humphrey; and by two sisters, Marion Turner and Emily Kuehn.

LUCILLE ORRY (LOVEJOY) DOANE

BAKERSFIELD -- Lucille Orry (Lovejoy) Doane, age 76, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 15, 2004, at her home with her family at her side.

She was born in Springfield, Vt. on March 21, 1928, the daughter of the late Prescott and Veda (Walker) Lovejoy.

She was a resident of Bakersfield for the past 50 years and was a member of the Bakersfield Methodist Church and the Bakersfield Historical Society. She was raised in Springfield, where she graduated from Springfield High School and then graduated from the University of Vermont. She taught Home Economics at the Brigham Academy in Bakersfield and the Enosburg Falls High School.

She is survived by her loving and wonderful husband, Harrison Marshall Doane of Bakersfield, they were married Sept. 18, 1954; she is also survived by her children, Neil Doane and his wife, Joanne of Bakersfield, Patricia Myers and her husband Thomas of Silvis, Ill., Marie Doane and her friend Wayne Blaisdell Jr. of Morrisville, and Doris Sleeman and her husband Craig of Winooski; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Adam and Anna Doane, Jessica and Samuel Myers, and Kathryn and Morgan Sleeman; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Holden and Laura Doane of Bakersfield, Carlton and Phyllis Doane of Canton, N.Y. and Richard and Waynonna Brown of Urbanna, Ill.; a very dear cousin Majorie Ohs and her husband Lawrence of Holden, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her birth mother, Orry (Lawrence) Lovejoy.

A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Bakersfield Methodist Church with Rev. Jane Wilson officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield. There will be no visiting hours.

JEAN GUY "JEAN-O" BEAUDRY, SR.

WILLISTON -- Jean Guy "Jean-O" Beaudry, 59, of Williston, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, surrounded by his family at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington from complications due to pancreatic cancer.

Jean was born on Aug. 14, 1945, in St. Joachim, Quebec, the son of Jean Paul and Jeanne (Daigle) Beaudry. He grew up in West Swanton, Vt., and graduated from Swanton High School, class of 1964.

Jean served in the US Navy aboard the USS Enterprise during the Viet Nam Conflict. On Aug. 22, 1981, he married Cindy Zea in the Shelburne United Methodist Church. He had been employed as a machinist with General Electric and for the last 5 years with Husky Injection Molding Systems. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Howard Plant Post 782.

Jean loved the outdoors, from vacationing in Wells, Maine, the different seasons especially the fall with all the colors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. He was also an avid New York Yankees baseball fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 23 years, Cindy, of Williston; three sons, Jean Guy, Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Grand Isle, Christopher L. and his wife, Valerie, of Hinesburg, and Michael Paul and his fiancée, Errin Doherty, of Hinesburg; seven grandchildren, Sandra, Casey, Levi, Brittney, Erin, Justin, and Ryan; his mother, Jeanne Beaudry of St. Albans; one sister, Louise King and her husband, George, of St. Albans; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and many special friends; his in-laws, Arlene and Charles Zea of St. George, and Charles and Dorine Zea and their children, Brian and Erin of South Burlington; and his puppy, Alvin. He was predeceased by his father, Jean Paul Beaudry; one brother, Roger; and one sister, Marie Jeanne.

His family would like to thank Dr. Gerhild Bjornson and her staff and all the nursing staff of the FAHC-MICU for all the care and support given to them and Jean.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. in the Ready Funeral Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Drive, Essex Jct. with interment to follow in Deer View Cemetery, Williston.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to either the Vermont Cancer Society or the Vermont Viet Nam Veterans Association. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a V.F.W. service at 7 p.m. in the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service, Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Drive, Essex Jct.

KATHRYN J. JEWELS

SARASOTA, Fla. / EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. -- Kathryn J. Jewels, 92, passed away early Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at the Springs at Lakepoint Woods in Sarasota, Fla. with her daughter, Patricia Morton at her side. She was born in East Hampton, N.Y. on Dec. 1, 1911, the daughter of the late Everett Garfield Vail and Fannie Hand Vail. She was the widow of Frank J. Jewels who died on Dec. 8, 1995.

Mrs. Jewels was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in East Hampton and the Guild Hall Players. She and her husband Frank moved from East Hampton, N.Y. to Sarasota in 1995.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia J. Morton and her husband Richard A. Morton of Georgia, Vt.; two grandchildren, Richard Morton and his wife Michele of Yorktown Heights, N.Y. and Jennifer Napolitano of Danvers, Mass.; and two great- grandchildren, Francesca and Miranda Napolitano.

Funeral services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, Fla. 34238.

The Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans, is assisting the family with arrangements.
