JOHN ANDREW TEMOFEEW
SWANTON - John Andrew Temofeew, 79, a resident of this area since 1989, died late Saturday evening, June 11, 2005, at the Haven Health Center in St. Albans Town.

Born in Brooklyn, New York City, on Sept. 11, 1925, he was the son of the late Andrei and Olga (Mikachuk) Temofeew. He received his elementary and high school education in the New York City area and his Bachelor of Arts Degree from New York University College of Engineering. On Sept. 9, 1967, he was married to the former Murielle Breton, who survives him.

For all his working life John was employed as an industrial engineer, first for 36 years with Consolidated Laundry in New York City and later, for three years with Western Linen in Las Vegas, Nev. He retired in 1988.

He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II and received two Purple Hearts. He was a member of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Swanton.

In addition to wife, Murielle, of Swanton, John leaves a daughter, Isabelle Temofeew, of Hudson, Quebec, Canada; a sister, Natalie Shellans and her husband, Steve, of Woodland, Washington state; a brother, Gregory Temofeew, M.D. and his wife, Lee, of Munster, Ind.; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE will officiate. Interment will follow in the Temofeew family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.

Gifts in John’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Vermont Chapter, P.O. Box 1139, Montpelier, Vt. 05601.

RAE (SESSIONS) MCGINN
ST. ALBANS BAY - Rae McGinn, 71, passed away peacefully at home, looking out at a beautiful sunset on 'her' lake with her loving family by her side. She passed away on Sunday, June 12, as she lived her life, on her own terms.

Born Dec. 4, 1933, in Newport, Vt., the eldest daughter of Ralph Standish Sessions and Bessie Augusta Kendall. Rae was a 1951 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and received her R.N. from the Bishop deGoesbriand Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, where she served as the corresponding secretary of the State Student Nurses' Association.

June 11, 1955 she married her beloved husband, Major John R. McGinn, who predeceased her on June 13, 1971. During those 16 years, Jack and Rae and their growing number of children lived in many locations as a family of the U.S. Air Force. Rae was employed as a Registered Nurse at several hospitals during this time.

In 1971 she relocated to East Montpelier, Vt. with seven children, where she resided for 18 years. During her years of dedicated service as a Registered Nurse in this area she was employed by CVH, The Gary Home, Plainfield Health Center and as Director of Nursing at Greensboro Nursing Home.

In 1989 Rae went into semi-retirement at her lakefront home on Maquam Shore. While living in St. Albans she worked at Mousetrap Pediatrics and volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem, Outstanding Advocacy. Rae was involved with both the St. Albans Town and Franklin County Republican Caucus and was elected as a Justice of the Peace in the last St. Albans Town election.

Rae was also a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Ladies Auxiliary and the Emblem Club. Rae loved going to the Casino, playing cards with friends, traveling, dancing and spending time with her dog, Maggie.

Rae is survived by her sons, John R. McGinn II and his wife, Tammy, of Fairfax and their children, John and Cassie, and Patrick McGinn and his wife, Kelly, of Plattsburgh, N.Y. and their children, Ryan and Micayla; daughters: Leebeth Ann and her husband, Mark Lemieux, of Fairfax and their sons, Nicholas and Jack; Kathleen and her husband, Dale LaPerle, of Fairfax and their daughters, Jaclyn and Amanda; Maureen and her husband, Tim Lawson, of Middlesex and their children, Kyle and Kirsten; and Bridget and her husband, Toby Alexander, of Georgia, Vt. She is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth and her husband, Edward Stevens, of Newport, and Kim Mince, whom she raised from age 11, and her sons, Eric and Josh of Elizabethtown, Ky. In addition she is survived by her in-laws, Jim and Sharon McGinn, Mike and JoAnn McGinn and Mary Heney; as well as several nieces and nephews. And, Rae was "Mom" to so many others.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 17, 2005, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairfax Street, St. Albans. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, Thursday, June 16, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your area Human Society or Martha's Kitchen in St. Albans.

CAROL A. MILES
ENOSBURG CENTER - Carol A. Miles, wife of Alvin Miles Jr., died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care (Medical Center) in Burlington following a long illness, surrounded by her family and friends, including a special friend, Veronica Draper.

Carol was born in Dyersburg, Tenn. on Jan. 31, 1945, the daughter of the late Carl and Arlene (Champagne) Parizo.

Carol had been a resident of this area most of her life and was a part time employee of the hot lunch program in the Enosburg schools and was also a member of the Enosburg Ambulance Service. She enjoyed playing cards with the L & M Club and spent time knitting and playing with her grandchildren. Carol also enjoyed playing bingo and watching the birds at the feeder.

Surviving are her husband, Alvin “Jr.” Miles; one son, Mark Miles and his wife, Ginger, and their children, Derek and Kaleb; two daughters: Penny Clark and her husband, Joey, and their children, Adam and Ashleigh, and Susan Colburn and her husband, Jeffrey, and their son, Joshua, all from Enosburg; two sisters: Patricia Breyette and Wanda McWilliams, both of Alburg; two sisters-in-law and their spouses, Shelba and Richard Prive, and Donna and Michael Jutras; also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by a brother, Leland “Butch” Parizo; a sister, Valeria Rigsby; and her father- and mother-in-law, Alvin Sr. and Evelyn Miles.

Funeral services for Carol will be held on Wednesday morning, June 15, at 11 at the Spears Funeral Home on Dickenson Avenue in Enosburg with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9.

GARY C. HUNT SR.
PALMETTO, Fla. - Gary C. Hunt Sr., age 62, died unexpectedly June 6, 2005, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.

He was born in St. Albans, Vt., Jan. 20, 1943, the son of the late Charles and Phyllis (Wanzer) Hunt.

Gary is survived by his son, Gary Hunt Jr. of Palmetto, Fla.; three grandchildren: Harley J., Rose M. and Gwenith O. Hunt. He is also survived by several cousins and his former wife, Susan Patch-Crandall, of Hartland, Vt.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer S. Hunt, and his daughter-in-law, Tracey K. Hunt.

A private graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Hunt family lot in the Herrick Cemetery in North Fairfield, Vt.

Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls is in charge of arrangements.

LEWIS E. COTA
WESTFORD - Lewis E. Cota, 82, passed away June 9, 2005, at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born on Aug. 17, 1922.

Lewis married the former Esther Center on Aug. 21, 1943, in Burlington. As a veteran of World War II, he served his country well while enlisted in the United States Army Military Police. Lewis was a dedicated employee working for Pratt Whitney manufacturing airplane parts enticing Lewis to obtain his pilot’s license. He later worked with General Electric for over 24 years.

He enjoyed deer and partridge hunting and always looked forward to fishing for bass and trout. Using his Vermont’s ingenuity designed and manufactured his own pontoon boat, which created many enjoyable memories for his friends and family. Appreciating music, he was an active member of the Green Mountain Banjo Band. Lewis and his wife Esther especially remembered their trip of a lifetime to Hawaii. In his earlier years, Lewis could often be seen riding his Indian sidecar motorcycle rarely missing one of the Laconia motorcycle races. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all of those who had the good fortune to know and love him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Cota, of Enosburg Falls; his two sons, David Cota and wife Jackie of Essex Center, and Paul Cota and fiancee Ranae Clifford of Enosburg Falls; his daughter, Norma Bessette and husband, Bob, of Milton; his two granddaughters, Sandra Cota and Rachael Cota; his two grandsons, Steve Bessette and Michael Cota; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Merrill Cota and his wife, Theresa; his sisters, Dorothy Petit and husband, Paul, and Louise Cota.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday, June 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at A.W. Rich Funeral Home, Fairfax Chapel. Funeral Services will be held today, June 13, at 1 p.m. in the A.W. Rich Funeral Home, Fairfax Chapel. Interment will follow in the family lot in Brookside Cemetery, Westford at which time full military burial honors will be accorded the World War II veteran.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lewis’ memory to the Westford Senior Citizens, c/o Loreen Teer, 1118 B VT Rte. 15, Underhill, Vt. 05489.

MALCOLM WAYNE KING
SOUTH HERO - Malcolm Wayne King, 77, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at his home in South Hero.

Malcolm was born in Fletcher, Vt. on Dec. 1, 1927, the son of Charlotte Cox and Fred E. King. He attended Milton High School and served in the Navy during World War II. He was married to Frankie Jackson in 1953. He was a lifelong carpenter and woodsman.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Frankie King, and his children: Lorna Fortune and her husband Bill of Jonesville, Scott King and his wife Jan of Texas, and Naomi Tracy and her husband Hobart of South Hero; his sister, Audrey Towne and her husband Don of Milton; his brothers: Delmar and his wife Madeline of Cambridge, Wendell of Milton, Doug and his wife Norma of East Berkshire, and Bernard and Joan of Maryland; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Beryle Tabor and Dot Wagner, and his brothers, Foster, Neil and Harlan King.

Special thanks to Dr. Chip and family for all their help.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at 4:30 p.m. in the Minor Funeral home in Milton where all are invited to share memories. Friends may gather and reminisce on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Mass. 01701, or to a charity of ones choice.

THEODORE R. ‘TED’ COTE
Prayers of Committal and Interment for Theodore R. "Ted" Cote, who passed away on Jan. 12, 2005, will be held on Monday, June 13, 2005, at 6 p.m. in the Cote Hill Family Cemetery at 2547 Cote Hill Road in Morristown.

Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.

ALBERT G. HEMOND
ST. ALBANS / ENOSBURG FALLS - Mr. Albert C. Hemond, age 76, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the Northwestern Medical Center, Thursday morning, June 9, 2005. He was born in St. Albans, May 8, 1929, son of the late Alfred and Alice (Dennis) Hemond.

Albert served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received an Infantry Occupation Medal in Germany. After leaving the military he was employed by the Central Vermont Railway for over 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post 1 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Robert E. Glidden Post 758 and was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He moved to Brownway in Enosburg Falls in 2001.
He spent many hours over coffee at the St. Albans Dunkin Donuts, and enjoyed playing his violin and loved music.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brownway residence for the care that they gave to Albert.

He married Shirley M. Bocash, Sept. 25, 1971. Shirley died Nov. 25, 1996.

Alfred is survived by his daughters, Debbie Jablonski of Swanton, April Moore of St. Albans; sons, Allen Moore of Winooski, David Moore of Allentown, N. H., Donald Moore of Manchester, N. H.; sisters, Claire Ames of Norwalk, Calif., and Pearl Clark of Derby, Conn.; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by his daughters, Nancy and Monica; brother, Robert Hemond; and sister, Yvonne Tuttle.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home, 86 South Main St., from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

FRANCES D. BUSHEY
FAIRFAX - Mrs. Frances D. Bushey, age 87, died Thursday afternoon, June 9, 2005, at her home on the Buck Hollow Road, with her loving family at her bedside, following an extended illness.

She was born in St. Albans, March 5, 1918, daughter of the late William and Helga (Rasmussin) Dougherty. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in St. Albans. Fran married E. Alton Bushey. Mr. Bushey died March 8, 1980.

She was a member of the Fairfield Pond Association. For many years she was an active volunteer for the Diocese of Vermont Bishop’s Fund Drives. She was a member of the St. Albans Hospital Joint Committee and saw success in the merger of St. Albans and Kerbs Memorial Hospitals. She loved flowers and enjoyed spending leisure time with her family, especially her grandchildren at their camp at Fairfield Pond. She was employed at McCuin Fuels, in Highgate, most of her working life. She had been a bookkeeper for the Central Vermont Railway, prior to being at McCuins for over 25 years. She retired in 1979.

Her survivors include her three children: Brian and his wife, Marilyn Bushey, of Irving, Texas, Anne and her husband Hilario Madamba of Freemont, Calif., Brenda Turner of Fairfax; four grandchildren: twins Joy and Haney Madamba, Joseph Madamba, Jesse Turner; and a brother, Edward and Phyllis Dougherty of East Hartford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Alton, she was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Vivian Dougherty and Katherine Cioffi; and a brother, William Dougherty

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2005, in The Church of the Nativity in Swanton. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Interment will follow in the Bushey family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Swanton.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

DONNA JEAN ANDERSON
MILTON - Donna Jean Anderson, 64, a lifelong area resident, was called to the Lord Friday morning, June 10, 2005, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Donna was born in St. Albans on Oct. 5, 1940, the daughter of John and Elena (Slocum) Cleveland.

She graduated from the Milton High School Class of 1958. She was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Milton Chapter 59, and of the Milton Historical Society.

Donna was married to Robert Anderson in 1980. She dearly cherished his loving and devoted companionship throughout their marriage. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, camping, and traveling, domestic and abroad. Her hobbies included raising tomato plants, knitting and Mothering.

In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her children: Lonny Bilodeau and his wife Gina of Grand Isle, Lisa Draper and her husband Bruce of Swanton, Gary Bilodeau and his wife Amy all of Swanton, Harriett Anderson - Herinck and her husband Mark of San Francisco, Calif., Ruth Morralas and her husband Wiley of Coleman, Texas and Robert Anderson Jr. of San Angelo, Texas. Fondly referred to as “Nana, ” Donna is survived by 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; her siblings, Alison Cleveland, Larry Hatridge, Beverly Savoy, and Jackie Zierden; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the Essex Alliance Church at 37 Old Stage Road in Essex. Burial will follow in the Georgia Plains Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the VNA, Hospice of the Champlain Valley, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, Vt. 05446, or to the Eastern Star Scholarship Fund, c/o Phyllis Mayville, 24 Kienle Road, Milton, Vt. 05468.

Visiting hours will be on Monday, June 13, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. A Star Service will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday evening.
