ROBIN L. GAZAILLE
ENOSBURG - Robin L. Gazaille, age 45, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in St. Albans, March 12, 1960, the daughter of Valencia Gabree and John Martell.

She is survived by her husband, Luke Gazaille, of Enosburg; her children: Shannon (Gazaille) Lussier and her husband, Corey, of Naples, Fla., Travis Gazaille and Bryan Baxter, both of Enosburg; her stepson, Chad Gazaille and his wife, Karen, of Alburg; her grandchildren: Tyler Rheaume, Dylan and Brittney Gazaille; her mother, Valencia (Gabree) Russell of DeLand, Fla.; her sister, Ann Baker of Lake Helen, Fla.; her brother, David Baker of New Symrna, Fla.; and her beloved dogs, Ashley and Teddy.

In keeping with Robin’s wishes, funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment was held at St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center.

Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls was in charge of arrangements.

MARION BLANCHE SWEETSER
MILTON - Marion Blanche Sweetser, 82, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home in Burlington following a long illness.

Marion was born in St. Albans, the daughter of Howard and Agnes (Cotnoir) Garrette.

Marion is survived by her sons: Stillman and his wife, Paulette, of Georgia, Norman and his friend, Sheila, of Texas, Raymond and his wife, Josephine, of Enumclaw, Wash., James and his wife, Wanda, of Enumclaw, Wash., Henry and his wife, Judy, of Burlington; by her daughters, Donna LaRocque and her husband, Paul, of Milton, and Shirley Bashior; by her 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother, Norman Garrette and his wife, Cecile, of Fairfield; her sisters, Gyneth Fortin and her husband, Roy, of Sheldon, and Freida Tatro of Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; her son, Mark; her brothers, Harold and John; and sisters, Hilda and Leona.

Marion’s family would like to thank the staff at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home for the excellent care given to Marion during her stay there.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 4, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will follow in the Hope Cemetery in Georgia.

Memorials in Marion’s name may be made to the CVAA, Milton Meal Site, P.O. Box 158, Winooski, Vt. 05404.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

NORMA M. ROBERTS
RICHFORD –Norma M. Roberts, age 81, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Sutton, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Harry Butler Sr. and Mabel (Garland) Butler.

She attended school in Canada and on June 22, 1946 she married Donald C. Roberts. Norma was a homemaker all her married life and took great joy in caring for her family. She enjoyed baking and knitting and made many mittens for people who needed them. She was known for making excellent peanut butter fudge of which she donated to local bazaars. She enjoyed playing Bingo for many years and made a lot of lasting friendships there.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald Roberts of Richford. Donald provided loving care to her until her death. She is also survived by her daughter, Stacy Gregoire and her husband, Paul; one special grandson, Philip Gregoire, all of Berkshire; one brother, Harry Butler Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Candiac, Quebec, Canada, and their children; a very special neighbor, John Libbey; and close friend and companion, Maxine Farrar. Besides her parents she was predeceased by one sister, Claire (Butler) Fields.

At Norma’s request there will be no funeral services or calling hours. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at All Saints Cemetery in Richford.

For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 233 Lake St., St. Albans, Vt. 05478, or to the Richford Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 236, Richford, Vt. 05476.

Spears Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DAWN MARIE KITTREDGE
SLAYTON, Minn. / ST. ALBANS, Vt. - Dawn Marie Kittredge died unexpectedly on April 27, 2005, in Worthington, Minn. as the result of a car accident.

She was born April 8, 1964, in Meriden, Conn., to Donna Gowing Kittredge and the late Harold Kittredge. Dawn was 41 years old.

Dawn attended Meriden, Conn. schools and also Community College of Vermont, where she studied photography.

Prior to her death, Dawn was a caregiver for disabled adults around St. Albans Town. She also designed Web pages for area businesses. Upon her move in 2003 to Slayton, Minn., she worked at several health care facilities in the area. Dawn was most recently employed at HSI in Worthington, Minn.

She was an avid photographer and had sold several of her black and white photos. She loved taking care of older people and her family.

Dawn is survived by her two sons: Daniel (Foxwell) Kittredge and his fiancee, Jackie Polzine of Slayton, Minn., and David (Foxwell) Kittredge of Slayton, Minn.; by her fiance, Jody Onken of Slayton, Minn.; her mother, Donna (Kittredge) Jewel and her husband, Richard, of St. Albans; her brother, Roger Kittredge of Newport, Vt.; her brother, Harold Kittredge and his fiancee Donna Gabree of Alburg. Dawn is also survived by a stepsister, Dawn MacIntire of Vergennes, Vt.; and a stepbrother, Shawn Jewell of California. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Harold Kittredge of Wall, Conn.; and by her beloved grandparents, Pauline & Gerald Gowing, and Walter & June Kittredge.

A committal service will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at the Sheldon Cemetery. Pastor Benjamin will be officiating at the service.

After the service there will be a luncheon served at St. Louis Church in Highgate Center.

BERTHA SHELDON STUART
MILTON - Bertha Sheldon Stuart, 85, of Villemaire Lane, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington.

Bertha was born April 25, 1920, in Montpelier, the daughter of Will and Ruth Scofield Sheldon. She graduated from the Fanny Allen School of Nursing in Colchester in 1963 and practiced her profession for over 10 years at the Fanny Allen Hospital. On Oct. 3, 1942, she married John F. Stuart in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Milton.

Bertha and John were very dedicated and devoted members of the Arrowhead Senior Center. From the very beginning they did the small things that helped the Center get off the ground initially from cleaning the floors and donating the proceeds from their labor back to the Center to helping obtain Grants and organize fundraisers for the group. Bertha held several positions including the offices of Secretary, Director, President and Vice President. She will be greatly missed for her kind and caring attitude towards the Center. Many years were also spent with the Sisters at the Fanny Allen. She has held a personal affection for the Sisters and had always held them near and dear to her heart. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, John, of Milton; and her son, Joe Stuart and his wife, Debra, of Milton, and their children, Ciara and Benjamin; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Adams Stuart of Milton, and her children, Jeffrey and Dennis; her great-grand children: James, Jacob, Jared and Jillian; three sisters-in-law, Trudy Barrows of Williston, Rose Foote of Colchester and Pauline Curtis of Eustis, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her three sons: Stephen, Thomas and James; her brothers, Lyndon and Rudy Sheldon; sisters, Florence Murray, Caroline Smith and Emily Senna; brothers-in-law, Lawrence, Paul and Jerome Stuart; and sisters-in-law, Rita Stuart Bovia and Theresa Stuart Blanchette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 3, 2005, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church with burial following in St. Ann’s Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Milton Rescue, P.O. Box 15, Milton, Vt. 05468; Arrowhead Senior Center, P.O. Box 785, Milton, Vt. 05468; or to the Champlain Valley Area Agency on Aging, Milton Meal Site, P.O. Box 158, Winooski, Vt. 05404.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 2, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

CAROLYN E. STEVENS
SHELDON - Carolyn E. Stevens, 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the Franklin County Rehab Center following a brief illness. She was born in Sheldon, Vt. on May 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel (Derosia) Danyow. She was married to Earl Stevens, who predeceased her in 1966. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Sheldon Post 88, American Legion.

Carolyn is survived by a brother, Harold N. Danyow, and his wife, Lucille of St. Albans; a sister, Ruth Larose and her husband, Norbert, of Sheldon; a sister-in-law, Pauline Danyow of Essex; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers: Raymond, Vincent, Merriman and Howard Danyow.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church in Sheldon Springs. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Contributions in Carolyn's memory may be made to Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.

MERRILL D. GREENIA
ST. ALBANS - Mr. Merrill D. Greenia, lacking a week of being 85, died Thursday at high noon, July 28, 2005, in the Fletcher Allen Health Center. Merrill was born in Highgate Center Aug. 4, 1920 son of the late Louis and Margaret (Malloy) Greenia.

He entered the United States Navy in 1939 and served as a Chief for several years. Upon discharge he became an inspector for the United States Customs Service. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Champlain Country Club. Merrill was also a member of the B.P.O.E., Elks Lodge 1566, the American Legion, Green Mountain Post # 1, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Robert E. Glidden Post 758 and the Disabled American Veterans.

Jan. 29, 1947 he married Patricia Denning. Besides his wife of over 58 years, he is survived by their children Sandra and her husband, Richard, Hersey of Swanton, Dennis Greenia and his life partner, Becky Hofer, of San Antonio, Tx., Katherine Patricia “K.P.” Maxfield of San Antonio, Tx., George W. and his wife, Carrie Greenia, of Royal Palm, Fl., Danielle and her husband, Ashley Heyer, of Jeffersonville, 12 grandchildren, 13 great—grandchildren, sister, Doris Cotnoir, of Swanton, several half brothers and sisters, sister-in-law Beverly and her husband, Dr. A. Gould Susslin, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by their daughter Margaret Ann Greenia, at age 4 months, and by a brother Leon Greenia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’?s Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St. from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be Denning/Corrigan/Greenia family lot in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

RALPH CEBRON
Ralph Cebron, 75, of Central City, Penn. and formerly of St. Albans, Vt., passed away July 25, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ralph was born on May 5, 1930, in Rockingham, the son of Joseph and Rose (Cermel) Cebron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Jackie; sister Sally; brothers Harry, Joe and Ed; and two infant sisters, Angeline and Mary. Ralph is survived by daughters: Tommie Ann Lussier of Highgate, Vt.; Lisa Rose, wife of Alan Pelletier of Templeton, Mass.; grandchildren: Matthew Lussier of Burlington, Renee (Pelletier) Elwood and her husband, Jason, of Highgate; Ryan Pelletier of Templeton, Mass.; also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Ralph is the brother of Rose Fuessler, Alice Lawson and Josephine Marquis.

Ralph retired from the Air Force as a Tech. Staff Sgt. after serving his country for 20 years. He had various tours of duty, which included: Greenland, South America, France, Spain and Vietnam. It was during this time that he met and married his loving wife of 41 years, Violet Jacqueline (Warner) Cebron.

He retired to St. Albans where he continued to raise his family. He was employed as a Franklin County Sheriff and a Corrections Officer at Northwest Correctional Facility. He retired for the second time after serving 20 years as an Immigration Officer with U.S. Customs.

Ralph moved to Central City in 1997 where he was very active in the community. He was proud to be a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW, of which he also served on the board. He was President of the Shade-Central City Lions Club, served on the Central City Water Authority and was a Borough Councilman.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Mulcahy Funeral Home in Central City, Penn., where a Wake Service will be held this evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Chapel with Rev. Father Joseph Maurizio officiating. Committal will be in Richland Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be by the Central City American Legion Post.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Ralph’s memory.

RUTH T. BARROWS
MILTON - Ruth T. Barrows, 81 of School Street, died early Thursday morning, July 28, 2005, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston.

Ruth was born May 13, 1924, in St. Albans, the daughter of the late George and Ardelle Grow Thompson. On Oct. 1, 1946, she married Eldon Carl Barrows in Starksboro. He predeceased her on May 20, 2001, following 54 years of marriage together.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Milton. She enjoyed antiques including furniture restoration for herself and her family. She liked to play bingo whenever she could and very much enjoyed crafts. A very artistic person, she loved to paint and crochet or to just enjoy nature by taking country rides with her son Dwight and his wife Carol watching deer, turkeys and other native wildlife.

Ruth is survived by her five children and their families: Sandra Grant and her husband, Gil of Newark and grandchildren, Chris and his wife Mari of Miami, Fla., Casey and his wife Penny of Hinesburg, Jeremy of Huntington, and great-grandchildren, Julia and Jayden; Faye Richards and her husband, Gary of Georgia and grandson, Scott and his wife Stephanie of Fairfax; Randy Barrows and his wife, Diane and grandchildren, Crystal and Trevor G., and Trevor all of Milton; Kay Walker and her husband, Robert and grandsons, Robert and Ben of Milton; Dwight Barrows and his wife, Carol of Milton, and Molly and Dakota; her mother-in-law, Alberta Barrows of Milton; her brother, Allen Thompson and his wife, Betty of Milton; her sister, Norma Riley of Milton; brothers-in-law, Ben Barrows and his wife, Eleanor, and Robert Barrows and his wife, Ruth, both of Milton; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Thompson, Paula Wilcox and her husband, Larry and Ila Barrows, all of Milton, and Rita Rock of Colchester; several nieces and nephews; as well as her special “adopted daughter, ” Amy Morway and her two dear friends, Ethel’s, and all of her School Street friends. She also leaves her four-legged furry friends: Jake, Dakota, Molly, Ursa, Barney, Bud and Annie, all of whom brought her great joy. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Ruth’s family wishes to thank those who had assisted her and her family during her illness. A special thanks to Dr. John Fitzgerald, Dr. Mara Vijups, the staff at Franklin County Rehabilitation in St. Albans and the Vermont Respite House in Williston. Your concerns were greatly appreciated.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7 in Milton. Burial will follow in the Milton Village Cemetery.

LESLIE McKAY JACKSON
RICHFORD, Vt. / ANDERSON, S.C. - Leslie “Les” Jackson, age 80, husband of Brenda M. Jackson of 117 Maggie Lane, Anderson, S.C., died on Friday, July 22, 2005, at The Hospice House in Anderson, S.C.

He was born in Richford on Jan. 15, 1925, and was the son of the late Stephen and Margaret (McKay) Jackson. He was a 1943 graduate of Richford High School where he participated in basketball and baseball. During World War II he served in the United States Navy.

He was associated with Tremco and Brisk Waterproofing before founding his own company, Lesco Restorations Inc., in 1975, which he managed until his retirement at which time the company was sold.

Survivors include Brenda, who has been such a loving and caring wife during his long illness; a son, Robert D. Hines and his wife, Vicki L. of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Arden Jackson Eden and her husband, Harry H. of Purcellville, Va.; brothers, Keith G. of Richford and Charles B. Cortland, Ohio; a sister, Margaret Prior of Battle Creek, MI. He also leaves stepdaughters: Rene Johnson, Beth Eckard, and Millie Gasper; stepson, Joseph Sizemore; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lynden Jackson; two brothers: Ernest and Edward Jackson; and three sisters: Albertine Jackson, Maxine Hall and Ethel Lancaster.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, S.C., officiated by the Reverend Lloyd Edmond.

The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, S.C., was in charge of arrangements.

CONRAD FACTEAU
SWANTON, Vt. / OCALA, Fla. - Mr. Conrad Facteau, 74, died on May 15, 2005, in Ocala, Fla.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Marcheta Townsend, pastor of the Isle La Motte United Methodist Church will officiate. Committal Services and Interment will take place Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the family lot in the Lyndon Center Cemetery. The Reverend Joan Vincent will officiate.
