LLOYD R. LAGROW
ST. ALBANS - Mr. Lloyd R. Lagrow, age 79, died Monday, July 25, 2005, in the Northwestern Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in St. Albans, Dec. 23, 1925, son of the late Rupert and Irene (Blouin) Lagrow.

During World War II Lloyd was a member of the 8th Air Force, 388th Bomb Group. Following discharge he owned and operated Lagrow’s Cleaners and Dyers for 18 years. In 1964 he became director of the Champlain Valley Work Training Programs, including Neighborhood Youth Corps, Operation Mainstream, New Careers, Senior Community Service, Community College and Upward Bound at St. Michael’s College, until his retirement in 1980.

Lloyd was a member of the American Legion Post 1, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 758, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 1566 and the Loyal Order of Moose, Chapter 1090. He was a former past president of the Kiwanis Club, Little League and Girls Softball League.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Collins), whom he married Oct. 17, 1948; three daughters and their husbands: Cathy and Joseph Badot of Vineyard Haven, Mass., Nancy and Donald Chenevert of Rouses Point, N.Y., Susan Lagrow of St. Albans; two grandchildren and their spouses: Nicole and Michael Laravia of Williamstown, N.J., Craig and Nicky Chenevert of Schenectady, N.Y.; two great-grandsons: Joshua and Hunter Laravia. Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant brother, Roland; and a great-grandson, Griffon Chenevert.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow full military honors in the Lagrow family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478, or the Franklin County Senior Meals on Wheels Program, 75 Messenger St., St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

JOHN L. BERGERON
MILTON - John L. Bergeron, 65, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 22, 2005.

John was born in Burlington on June 18, 1940, the son of Conrad and Rose (Grenier) Bergeron. He had worked for IBM for many years retiring in 1995. He presently worked at Husky. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Milton.

Surviving are his children: John Bergeron of Milton, Gail Mongeau and her husband Paul of Winooski, and Amy Ross and her husband Scott of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren; his former wife and mother of his children, Lillian Leavitt; his brothers and sisters and spouses, Gerard and Joan Bergeron of St. Albans, Conrad Bergeron of Richmond, Helen and Peter Dolan of Florida, Leo and Betty Bergeron of Indiana, Ida and Wayne Wood of Winooski, Rita and Robert Lee of Canaan and Edmond Bergeron of Barre; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Margaret, and his brother, Andre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church in Milton. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, July 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

GERTRUDE M. ‘TRUDY’ KANE
BURLINGTON - Gertrude M. “Trudy” Kane, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday afternoon July 21, 2005 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oc. 7, 1929 in Enosburg Falls the daughter of the late Roscoe & Imelda (Gervais) Kane.

She was raised in the Enosburg Falls / Sheldon area, and lived most of adult life in Underhill and Wallingford. When she retired she made her home at the Converse Home in Burlington for several years prior to making her home on Front Street.

She worked as a registered nurse all her life caring for people in different capacities. She worked at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester, Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington and retired after several years of employment at the Serenity House in Wallingford.

She is survived by her children, Michael Dulude of Lakewood, Colo., Andrew Dulude and his wife, Lani, of Colchester, and Peter Dulude and his wife, Jody Sherr-Dulude, of Burlington; her son-in-law, Thomas Durbrow of Underhill Center; her grandchildren, Anna Kate Dulude, Barry Durbrow, Meghann Dubrow, and Melanie Pinette and her husband, Don; her great–grandchildren, Eli and Lily Pinette; her brothers, George Kane and his wife, Rolande, of Franklin, Patrick Kane of Deland, Fla., and Ralph Kane of Sheldon; her sister, Carmen Florence Prive and her husband, Joseph, of Inverness, Fla.; her sisters-in-law, Irmalee Kane of Sheldon and Joy Kane of Fairfield. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia A. (Dulude) Durbrow; a sister, Irene (Kane) LaRose-Jeffords; her brothers, Marcel and Dennis Kane. She also was predeceased by her former husband, Andrew Dulude.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday July 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls.

A time of visitation will be held Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

RONALD A. BLOW
MILTON — Ronald A. Blow, 56, died at his home on McMullen Road surrounded by his loving family on Thursday evening, July 21, 2005.

Ronnie was born in Burlington, on Sept. 11, 1948, the son of Ellsworth and Barbara (Whittmore ) Blow.

He married Carol Ryder in Connecticut. on May 12, 1973.
Ron had a great love for custom car work. He built, owned and operated Ron’s Auto Body Repair Shop on McMullen Road for over 23 years. He loved rebuilding cars, especially Corvette’s and hot Rods. One of his cars was a two directional car, seen in many of Milton’s parades.

He is survived by his family who meant the world to him, his daughters, Melissa Bushey and her husband, Justin, Melinda Blow and her partner, Heather Bruce, and his wife, Carol, all of Milton; his brothers and sisters Ellsworth Blow Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Florida, Sylvia Everest and her husband, Van, of Milton, Sandy Dupree of Connecticut, Patricia Miller and her husband, Joe, of St. Albans, Barbara Destromp and her husband, Gary, of St. Albans, and his brother Stephen Blow and his wife, Sharon, of Grand Isle. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Sharon and brother Peter.

Contributions may be made in Ronnie’s memory to the VNA, Hospice of the Champlain Valley, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, Vt. 05446, for the excellent care given, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1460, Williston, Vt., 05495.

A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church in Milton.

Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

Ron’s family would like to invite friends who have Corvette’s, hot rods, antique cars, or show cars, to drive them on Monday to the funeral home in Ron’s memory, for the procession to St. Ann’s.

JOHN G. KISSANE, Esq.
ST. ALBANS — John G. Kissane, Esq., 90, a longtime area resident and prominent attorney, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening July 19, 2005, in his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Norwood N.Y. on Oct. 14, 1914, the son of the late Dr. John William and Jessie (Marshall) Kissane. On June 10, 1995, on the shores of Lake Champlain, John married Colleen (Miller) Cushing.

John attended Norwich University in Northfield and graduated from Boston University Law School. He served his country as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Campaign.

He began his practice of law in 1940, which continues today as Kissane Associates. In 1953 he received Presidential appointment to Collector of Customs, and administered that office simultaneously with his law practice.

In the mid-1950s he was a founding board member of the ski area now know as Smugglers' Notch in Jeffersonville, Vt. Also at that time he was a board member of the new Kerbs Memorial Hospital and instrumental in its founding.

During the late 1950s to mid 1960s he represented many land owners who lost land to development of Interstate 89 through Franklin County.

He was a natural athlete playing football in both high school and college, an avid fisherman and hunter, usually with his long-time friend, "Red" Whiting. At age 53 he began playing tennis, defeating many local doubles-players, playing well into his 80s. A local tennis tournament continues in his name.

With, his friend and sports enthusiast, Steve Collins, and later with the gift of Bessie Perley, he became the principal architect of the present Collins-Perley Sports & Fitness Center.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen, of St. Albans; his daughter, Gail Grismore Camisa and her husband, Bob, and her children, Hilary and John Grismore and John's wife, Melissa, and their children, Alexander and Julia, and Bob's children. He also leaves two sons, E. D. "Ted" Kissane and his wife, Karen, of St. Albans and their daughters, Lynsey and Courtney, and J. G. "Jack" Kissane, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, of Wiley, Texas, and their daughter, Erin Kissane, their son, J.G. "Trey" Kissane, III, and his wife, Diana, and their daughter, Avery; also Colleen's children, Jean Hutchinson and her husband, John, of St. Albans, Steve Cushing and his wife, Cindy, of St. Albans, and Sarah Cushing of Montgomery; special friends, Bud Grismore, Bill Britch, Lionel Bilodeau and many other dear friends.

John was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Dr. M. M. Kissane, and his special cousin, Madeleine Hungerford.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Collins-Perley Sports & Fitness Center, Route 104, St. Albans with the Reverend Judy Kennedy, pastor of the First Congregational Church officiating.

John's family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, 2005, from 4-7 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.

WENDELL F. JEWETT
RICHFORD - Mr. Wendell F. Jewett, age 78, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, in the Fletcher Allen Health Center, from complications of injuries sustained in a fall. He was born in Montgomery, August 22, 1926, son of the late Horatio and Iva (Rushford) Jewett. During World War II he served in the U. S. Army. From 1957 until 1988 he was employed at the Sheldon Pulp and Paper Mill. Wendell was always active as a handyman for all his friends and neighbors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On October 10, 1950, he married Evelyn Martin, R.N. Besides his wife of more than 54 years, Wendell is survived by his three children, Gail and her husband, Keith Campbell, of Grovetown, Ga., Sheila and her husband, Derek Underhill, of Grants, N.M., and Arnold Jewett of Burlington; three sisters, Gyneth Wood and Charlotte St. Germain, both of Framingham, Mass., and Agnes Smith of St. Albans; sister-in-law Shirley Jewett of Richford; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Wendell was predeceased by his brothers Lawrence, Arnold and Donald, sister Gladys, and several siblings in infancy.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Richford Center Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. JUDY M. (LAMONDA) DOMINGUE
FRANKLIN — Judy Mae (Lamonda) Domingue, age 47, passed away Tuesday July 19, 2005 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a brief illness. She was born Oct. 19, 1957 in Sheldon, daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Jacobs) Lamonda.
She married Douglas Dominigue on May 23, 1981 in St. Albans. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking, and always looked forward to the quiet times she would spend in her beautiful flower gardens. She was a kind woman with a big heart and was a good friend to anyone who needed one. Judy was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone that was blessed to know her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Douglas Dean Domingue, of Franklin; three sons, George, Kenneth and Mark Domingue all of Franklin; a daughter, Maria Domingue of No. Hyde Park; two brothers, Raymond Lamonda and family, and Roy Lamonda, both of Massachusetts; two sisters, Shirley Rushford and family and Mary and husband, Sonny, all of Massachusetts; also, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; her foster mother, Mrs. Kenneth Hoadley; and her foster brothers and sisters.

She was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Lamonda; an infant sister, Rose; and her foster father, Kenneth Hoadley.

At Judy’s request there will be no visiting hours or services. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by John D. Workman of the A.W. Rich Funeral Home Fairfax Chapel 1176 Main St., Fairfax.

THEODORE “THEO” CHARLES BURTON
MILTON — Theodore Charles Burton (“Theo”) died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on the evening of July 19, 2005.

Theo was nine years old, and was born at home in Jericho on Nov. 21, 1995. He will be dearly missed by all those that his kind spirit touched and moved.
He leaves behind his parents Tony and Cindy, his brothers Creede and Asa, and his great-grandparents, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Theo completed third grade at Milton Elementary School. He was passionate about art, reading, learning about the world around him, and traveling. He loved his friends, especially Quinn, Landon, Evan, Satchel, Christine, and Thomas.

Theo and his family express deep gratitude to Dr. Alan Homans, Sheara Billado, and our friends at Fletcher Allen.

A Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Milton on Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Burton home at 1528 Lake Road in Milton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Theo’s favorite place on Earth, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, P.O. Box 576, Waterbury Vt., 05676, or Alex’s Lemonade Stand for Pediatric Cancer Research, c/o Burton Family, 1528 Lake Road, Milton, Vt., 05468.
