MARCEL EDWARD LAMARCHE II
SWANTON - Marcel Edward Lamarche II, 61, a longtime area resident, died Saturday evening, July 9, 2005, in his home on Jewell Avenue.

Born in Waterbury, Conn. on May 6, 1944, he was the son of the late Marcel Lamarche and Elizabeth (Mable) McCarty. He attended schools in Jeffersonville and Enosburg and on Jan. 22, 1964, was married to the former Sandra Hill, who survives him.

For the past 30 years Marcel has been associated with The Swanton Lumber Company located on North River Street in Swanton Village.

Marcel’s family would like to give special thanks to some very special and close friends: Pete and Dorcas Pelissier, Cristin Camisa, Harlan Lafrance and Bernie Gladden; his physicians, Doctors, Mark L. Silverstein, Dennis A. Sanders and H. James Wallace; and members of Missisquoi Valley Rescue for all of their support during the past several weeks.

In addition to his wife Sandra of Swanton, Marcel leaves two daughters, Laurie Lamarche of Colony, N.Y. and Tina Lamarche of Swanton; two sons, Marcel Lamarche III of Swanton and Rick Lamarche of St. Albans; two brothers, Jerry Lamarche and his fiancee, Laura Depino of North Branford, Conn. and Paul Lamarche of Manchester, Conn.; a special sister-in-law, Linda Bruyette of Swanton; his granddaughter, Jenna Lynn Murray of Colony, N.Y.; and his niece and nephews, Ryan, Lindsey and Trevor Lamarche and Richard Bruyette, Jr. and Chad Bruyette.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2005, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.

Gifts in Marcel’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11 Loomis Street, Montpelier, Vt. 05602-3021.

KENNETH J. GIRARD
WESTFORD - Mr. Kenneth J. Girard, age 38, died unexpectedly at his home, Jan. 27, 2005. He was born the son of Roger and Nancy (Bates) Girard, Nov. 13, 1966, in Hartford, Conn. He graduated from East Hampton High School and the Technical Career Institute. He worked most of his life in construction and most recently has his own construction business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, tent camping, and many other outdoor activities.

He is survived by his parents, Roger and Nancy Girard of East Hampton, Conn.; a sister, Judy Kerrigan and her husband Ed of Middletown, Conn.; his paternal grandmother, Blanche Gignac of St. Albans; a special niece and nephew, Samantha and Justin Peirce; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Henry Girard Sr.; and his maternal grandparents, Herbert and Marjorie Bates.

Graveside committal services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. in St. Albans Bay Cemetery. In the event of inclement weather, the prayers will be held in the chapel of the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Girard family lot in St. Albans Bay Cemetery.

BRADLEY JOHN THERRIEN SR.
MILTON - Bradley John Therrien Sr., 43, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 6, 2005.

Bradley was born in Burlington on Jan. 18, 1962, the son of John and Jean (Waite) Therrien.

On June 28, 1980 he married Julie Ward in Essex Junction.

He had worked at UVM as a Security Officer for many years. Brad was an avid outdoorsman, and had a great love for hunting.

He is survived by his wife Julie Ann (Ward) Therrien of Milton; their son, Bradley John Therrien Jr. and his children, Tyler and Joseph of Milton; by their daughter, Melanie Therrien and her son Jordan of Colchester; by his parents, John and Jean Therrien of Milton; his sister, Tina Russin and her husband, Allen, of Fletcher; his brother, Randy Therrien of Newport; by his brothers-in-law, Joseph Ward of Arizona, and Allan Ward of N.H.; his sister-in-law, Tammy Hamm of New Hampshire; and by several uncles and aunts including Patrick and June Therrien of St. Albans; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, Sam and Carol Ward, in 1978.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours.

For those who wish, memorials in Bradley’s memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, N.H. - VT Chapter, 41 Alpheus St., Manchester, N.H. 03103.

Arrangements were by the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

ELIZABETH CHARLENE HUGHES DAY
QUEBEC - Elizabeth Charlene Hughes Day of Stanbridge East, Quebec, passed away on Thursday, June 30 at home. She was born in Bakersfield, Vt. on April 6, 1932, the daughter of Murtle and Arthur Hughes.

In addition to her husband, Stephen Day, she leaves three sons: Micheal and Avis Day and family, James and Lise Day and family, Mark and Ruby Day and family; and one daughter, June and Marvin Bluto and family. Also two deceased sons, Oben Day and Thomas Day. Her mothers-in-law are Irene Lafontain and Marie Day.

She was the most loving mother, always thinking of others. She loved going to yard sales and shopping, as well as watching all the many birds and squirrels out her kitchen window. She loved working in her flower garden and was always a hard worker. She was the best mom ever and she was a best friend.

She had four brothers: Lawrence and Yvette Hughes of Swanton, Mitch and Jenny Hughes of Fairfield, Arthur Jr. and Beverly Hughes of St. Albans, and Reginald Hughes of St. Albans; four sisters, Phillis and Norman Hall of Burlington, Shirley and Paul Turner of Highgate, Pearl Moll of Fairfield and Ruth Labelle of Bakersfield. Eight grandchildren: Jason Miller, Marty Miller, Brian Miller, Lucy Day, Donna Day, Amanda Day, Summer Day; and several nieces and nephews. She had two deceased sisters, Freada Chaplin of Fairfield, Ruby Broe of Orleans, Vt.

She will be missed very much by all who knew her.

There will be a service today, July 7, at 2 p.m. at Dion Funeral Home, River Street, Bedford, Quebec.

RICHARD WARD HILL
MONTPELIER / ST. ALBANS - Richard Ward Hill, 82, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Central Vermont Hospital after a short illness.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1923, in Big Rapids, Mich., the son of Donald H. Hill, Sr. and Blanche (Ratti) Hill. Soon afterward the family moved to St. Albans where Dick grew up, attending City schools and graduating from Bellows Free Academy in 1942. He was a member of Sterling Weed's St. Albans School Boy's Band.

He entered Middlebury College, then, unable to join an armed service, left college after one year and went to work for the U. S. Customs Border Patrol stationed in Newport, Vt. where he met his future wife, Esther Frances Bethel of Rock Island, Que. Tess and Dick were married in 1951, and she predeceased him in 1999.

The Army called him up in 1945 and he served until 1947 when he returned to Middlebury, graduating in 1949. He worked for radio stations WDEV in Waterbury and WWSR in St. Albans. He then began a career in the State Vocational Rehabilitation program from which he retired as State Director in 1984. While with the State he earned an advanced degree in his field from Boston University.

Dick had three intense interests from childhood on: early jazz music, early automobiles and steam locomotives and amateur radio, which he pursued using antiquated vacuum tube equipment, much of which he rebuilt himself.

Dick is survived by his brother, Donald H. Hill Jr. and his wife, Pixley Tyler Hill of St. Albans, their children: Christopher Hill of Burlington, Louise Hill-Gaskill of St. Albans, Pixita del Prado Hill of Waterville, Vt. and Hector Hill of Los Angeles; his sister-in-law, Marion Bethel Toohey of Lethbridge, Alberta, and her children: Karen Goettle and William Toohey. Dick also leaves loyal friends, Howard and Alice Walbridge and Bruno, and care giving neighbors Gail and Jim Anderson, all of East Montpelier.

It was Dick's wish to have no visiting hours or local service, to be cremated and have his ashes interred beside those of his beloved wife Tessie in Stanstead, Que.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Edwin B. Schneider Loan Fund for Students with Disabilities at the University of Vermont, Grassemont, 411 Main Street, Burlington, Vt. 05401.

MARIE LUCILLE AUBE WASBROAD
LAKE PLACID, Fla. / ST. ALBANS, Vt. - Mrs. Marie Lucille Aube Wasbroad, 67, of Lake Placid, Fla., died Feb. 22, 2005. Born in Middlebury, Vt., she was a resident of Highlands County since 1993, coming from West Palm Beach.

She retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and United Technologies in 1991 after 32 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Damase and Alice Quesnel Aube of Middlebury; three brothers, Conrad, Rene and Albert. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Leon Wasbroad; three sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 7, 2005, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Wasbroad family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

MAXINE (BOWEN) McKITTRICK
NASHUA, N.H. / BERKSHIRE, Vt. - Maxine Billings (Bowen) McKittrick, 91, of Hunt Community in Nashua, N.H., died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at her home, 10 Allds St., New Hampshire.

She was born Oct. 27, 1913, in Richford, Vt., daughter of the late Cromwell A. and Effie (Billings) Bowen. She lived in Berkshire in her youth and graduated from Richford High School in 1931. She married Carl F. McKittrick of Lowell, Mass. on Feb. 15, 1941. He predeceased her in July of 1999.

She was a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Chelmsford, Mass. and was a member of the Women’s Alliance. She was a past member of the Lowell General Hospital Auxiliary and the Chelmsford Historical Society. She lived in Chelmsford and Westford until 1996, when she moved to Hunt Community, Nashua.

Mrs. McKittrick is survived by a son, Russell C. McKittrick of Prospect Street, Saranac Lake, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Janis K. McKittrick and Alan Sherwood of Alton, N.H.; and a granddaughter, Polly Belote Young.

She was predeceased by a brother, Cromwell Bowen, on Jan. 26, 1991.

A memorial service was held Friday, June 10, at 10 a.m. at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, Central Sq., Chelmsford, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.

The Blake Funeral Home, 27 Worthen St., Chelmsford, Mass. were in charge of arrangements.

SUSAN ANN LAMBERT
On Friday, July 1, 2005, Susan Ann Lambert, 49, went peacefully to live with the Lord, her Savior. Susan was born on May 17, 1956, the oldest daughter of Richard Lambert of Minnesota, and Genevieve (Jean) Lambert of St. Albans, who predeceased her on Dec. 10, 1994.

Sue leaves one brother, Daniel, and his wife Marlene, of St. Albans, and their three children: Marina, Leanna and DJ; two sisters: Kathy Taft of Florida, and her fiancé, Charles Chevalier, and Karen Guertin of Florida, and her husband Brian, along with Karen's five children: Mindy and her husband Steven of Florida, April and her husband Roy of Florida, and their daughter Elizabeth, Michelle and her fiancé, Doug of St. Albans, and their daughter Savannah, and Adam and Stephanie of St. Albans. Sue also leaves her fiancé, George Hanscomb, of Burlington; and countless numbers of friends, especially Julius, John, Bev and Bruce and Maria and family, Laurel, Ed, Sue, Ann and Karen, Gary, Karen.

Sue shared her love and life with all those who have touched her life in some way. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Sue's strongest passion in life was her family, her nieces, nephews, her friends, and most importantly her Savior, the Lord Jesus. She was very devoted to her church, and enjoyed singing in the Folk Choir on a weekly basis at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral.

Sue was a member of the community in Burlington for the last 16 years. Sue was a faithful advocate for people who were challenged with disabilities. She worked on many events in the community to raise awareness and support on their behalf as well as volunteering one to one herself.

After 49 years, Sue found the love of her life, George, who brought her much happiness in their engagement.

A special thanks to the caring staff at Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center; Green MT Nursing Home; Fletcher Allen Hospital; and her special family at Richardson Place.

A Christian Memorial Service & Mass was held this morning, July 5, at 10 a.m. at St Joseph's Co-Cathedral, Elmwood Ave. and Allen St. in Burlington. Burial services are being planned by the Lambert Family in St. Albans for September.

Donations in Sue's memory may be made to “Residents Activity Fund, " Burlington Health & Rehab Center, 300 Pearl St, Burlington, Vt. 05495.

D. PIERRE "PETE" LeMAY
ST. ALBANS - D. Pierre "Pete" LeMay, 49, a lifelong area resident, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, July 1, 2005, at the Northwestern Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born in St. Albans on Oct. 5, 1955, a son of the late Harold G. "Moe" LeMay and Cheryl (Sweet) Rocheleau.

Pete graduated from Bellows Free Academy in 1974. He then joined the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1977. He worked for Wyeth Nutritional in Georgia as a waste treatment operator. Recently, he had been associated as a consultant for Tim Camisa, working on the watershed program for St. Albans Bay. Pete enjoyed motorcycle riding and having his family around.

Survivors include his son, Maurice LeMay of Woodbury, Vt., his daughter, Erinn Blodgett and her husband, Michael of St. Albans; a grandson, Devin Blodgett; his four sisters: Pam Rocheleau and her husband, Larry of St. Albans Bay, Penny Duhamel and her husband, Bob of Swanton, Joyce Burnor and her husband, Wayne of St. Albans and Joann Cobb and her husband, Joe of Georgia; his stepmother, May LeMay of St. Albans Town; his uncles: Richard LeMay of Johnson, Graydon Sweet of Winooski and Joseph Commo and his wife, Phyllis, of Sun City, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. Pete was predeceased by his father, Moe LeMay on Aug. 16, 2002; his mother, Cheryl Rocheleau on March 4, 2005; his stepfather, Joseph "Mac" Rocheleau on Oct. 23, 1999; and his stepbrother, David Rocheleau on April 6, 1981.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2005, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield Street with the Reverend Leonidas B. Laroche celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Palliative Care Program, Northwestern Medical Center, P.O. Box 1370, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

The Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans is assisting the family.

RICHARD S. HUNGERFORD
ST. ALBANS — Richard Stilphen Hungerford, 79, a longtime area resident, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2005, at Northwestern Medical Center, with his family at his side.

He was born in Haverhill, Mass. on July 3, 1925, the son of the late Homer W. and Helen (Stilphen) Hungerford. On Oct. 11, 1952, in St. Luke's Church, he married the former Ruth Jean Bailey, who survives him.
Dick was a communicant of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and he and Ruth Jean wintered in Bonita Springs, Fla.

He was a 1951 graduate of the University of Vermont and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Dick was a life member of the St. Albans Historical Society, a 60-year member of Green Mountain Post #1, American Legion, and was past president and a Paul Harris Fellow of the St. Albans Rotary Club.

He was a founder of the St. Albans Skating Association. His other memberships include the Champlain Country Club, the Owl Club, St. Albans Lodge #1566, B.P.O.E., Robert E. Glidden Post #758, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Franklin Lodge #4, F&AM, and the Franklin County Realtors Association.
Besides his wife, Ruth Jean of St. Albans, he is survived by four sons and their wives, Edward R. and Charlotte Hungerford of Pensacola, Fla., Thomas W. and Barbara Hungerford of St. Albans, H. David and Shannon Hungerford of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Christopher J. and Claire Hungerford of St. Albans; a brother, Merrill C. Hungerford of St. Albans; 11 grandchildren, Leah, Paul, Christopher M., Mark T., James H., Meredith C., Grace C., Elliott F., Charles G., Eric C., and Luke T.; a great-granddaughter, Arabella; a brother-in-law and his wife, Edward and Anne Bailey, of Loudonville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son James Merrill Hungerford in 1961, a sister, Mary Fyles Costes in 1986, a brother-in-law, Commander Allen Fyles in 1970, and a sister- in-law, Madeline Louise Hungerford in 2000.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2005, at 11 a.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Church Street. Interment will be in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery in Swanton.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home 87 South Main St. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the St. Albans Historical Society, c/o Dale Powers, Church St., St. Albans 05478, or the St. Albans Skating Association, P.O. Box 855, St. Albans 05478.

CORCORAN JEROME BAGLEY
HIGHGATE CENTER/MIDDLEBURY — Corcoran Jerome Bagley, 34, a native of the Middlebury area and more recently of Highgate Center, died Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2005, in his residence on the Cook Road following an illness of several months.

Born in Middlebury on, July 12, 1970, he was the son of Keith and Joan (Warner) Bagley. He graduated from Middlebury Union High School and, on June 28, 2001, was married to the former Heather Chamberlain, who survives him.

Prior to his illness Corcoran had been associated with Lucille Farm Products, Inc. of Swanton and before moving to this area had worked several years at C.P.C. of Middlebury.

In addition to his wife, Heather, of Highgate Center, he leaves two daughters, Kaitlyn Bagley and Raven Chamberlain and her fiancé Thomas Lapine all of Highgate Center; his father, Keith Bagley, and his companion Mary of Goshen and his mother, Joan Warner, and his maternal grandmother, Eunice Warner, both of Middlebury; He is also survived by his brother, Justin Bagley of Middlebury, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

His paternal grandparents, Burnham and Cleo Bagley, predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Rev. Marcheta Townsend will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

KIRT M. OUELLET
ST. ALBANS / FLORIDA - Kirt Matthew Ouellet, age 51, died in Florida this past week. He was born in St. Albans, Aug. 14, 1954, son of John Ouellet and the late Monica (Langevin) Ouellet.

Besides his father he is survived by two daughters, Heather Jo and Kim; a brother, Mark Ouellet; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Angels Church at a time to be announced with a more complete obituary, pending his arrival from Florida.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.
