CHARLES O. CONSTANTINE
GEORGIA - Mr. Charles O. Constantine, 86, died peacefully on Friday afternoon, Aug. 18, 2006, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in St. Albans on April 19, 1920, the son of the late Oscar and Caroline (Goodroe) Constantine.

A devoted father and grandfather, Charles was a member St. Albans Lodge 1090, Loyal Order of the Moose and the Franklin County Senior Center. He enjoyed his morning breakfasts with his senior friends at McDonald's and never missed going out dancing to an Allard Brothers dance. He was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed spending time with his family, and his special family member, his cat, Nugget. Charles was employed for eight years at the former Ingleside Dairy, for 30 years at H.P. Hood and for eight years at the Georgia Elementary School.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Julia (Williams) Constantine of

Georgia; a son, Bruce Constantine and his wife, Yvette of Georgia; a daughter, Susan Constantine Trahan and her husband, Richard (Skip) of St. Albans; a granddaughter, Lisa Constantine and her fiancÚ, Eric Driscoll of Milton; a grandson, Austin Trahan and a granddaughter, Gabrielle Trahan of St. Albans; two sisters, Celia Benoit of St. Albans and June Rushlow and her husband, Clayton of New Britain, Conn., also several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Allen Constantine.

Charles family would like to recognize the loving and professional care of the Franklin County Home Health Agency.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend William Simmons, Pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Georgia Plain Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials in Charles' name to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478; or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, N.Y. 13220.

Friends may call on Monday (today) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.

SYLVIA E. LAGRO
RICHFORD ñ Sylvia E. Lagro, age 90, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford.

She was born Jan. 7, 1916, in Richford, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lula (Combs) Lagro.

Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Richford and provided home care and was a housekeeper for many families in St. Albans, Enosburg and St. Johnsbury, as well as provided care for her parents and her older brother. She also worked at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Lila Gendron; and two brothers, Lawrence and Graydon Lagro.

A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon, Oct. 1, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford with Pastor Heidi Reinker officiating. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.

WYMAN ERNEST MASKELL
ALBURGH - Wyman Ernest Maskell, 61, a lifelong resident of the Alburgh community, died Sunday evening, Sept. 24, 2006, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington.

Born at home in Alburgh on June 13, 1945, he was the son of the late, Ernest W. and Elva (Bohannon) Maskell. He attended Alburgh schools and for nearly 20 years was associated with Engelberth Construction, Inc. of Colchester. In earlier years he was self-employed as a home and business contractor, was associated with Eastern Cattle Breeding, a member of the Local Teamsters Union working on the construction of Vermont Interstate 89, and also worked as an extruder for the former Thermal Wire Company of South Hero.

Wyman leaves his daughter, Lorie Maskell of North Hero and her friend and companion, Donald Jacobs of Alburgh; a grandson, Brent C. Jacobs of North Hero; one brother, James Maskell and his wife, Cheryl of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; five aunts, Grace Collins and her husband, Earl of Alburgh, Bernice Bohannon of Alburgh, Joanne Bohannon of Bristol, Diane Bohannon of Alburgh and Geneva Bohannon of Waterbury; his best friend and Chocolate Lab, Buster; two nieces, Heather Rivers and her husband, John of South Glenn Falls, N.Y. and Heidi Maskell of Orlando, Fla.; two nephews, William Maskell of El Centro, Calif. and Jared Maskell of Choctaw, Okla.; and cousins, Michelle Bohannon, Renee Mills, her husband David, and their daughter Rebecca, all of Alburgh.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Carl Maskell on Dec. 26, 2005.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. At Wyman's request there will be no formal funeral services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Gifts in Wyman's memory may be made to the Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, 4 Firehouse Road, Alburgh, 05440.

THOMAS J. BENNETT
MONTGOMERY CENTER ñ May our Love and Prayers embrace you on your Journey.

Thomas J. Bennett, age 62, died Monday evening, Sept. 25, 2006, in his home in Montgomery Center, after a long illness.

Tom was born on Jan. 5, 1944, in North Plainfield, N.J., the son of Irving and Wilhelminia (Skolek) Bennett. Right out of high school Tom worked for the telephone company as well as enlisted in the service and served our country in the U.S. Army specializing in communications during the Vietnam War. Tom moved to beautiful Vermont in the '70s and continued to work for the telephone company (Verizon) until he retired in 1992. During his retirement Tom acquired his Captains License and worked for Champlain Marina in Colchester, achieved the National Certification of Motorcycle Safety Foundation for Instruction, Certification to the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2326 of Vermont, was a member of the Missisquoi Sportsman Club, and was employed at Sticks & Stuff in Enosburg until his death.

On July 25, 1992, Tom married the love of his life, Randolyn Anne Blair, and moved to Montgomery Center to enjoy the peace and serenity of the mountains. Tom was well known for his laughter, warm and loving personality, his story telling of his great adventures, the love of the outdoors, a hunter, a fisherman, sailor and Harley rider.

Tom is survived by his wife and buddy, Randy Anne Bennett; his daughter, Amy Joe Fellows and her son, Colton M. Fellows; his son, Daniel J. Bennett, all of Illinois; his step-son, Richie L. Hart, his fiancÈe Susan O'Neill and her daughter, Jessica O'Neill; his step-daughter, Renee` L. Hart Paulman, her husband Greg, their daughter Serena Blair Paulman and Serena's son, Alexander Domina, all of Vermont; his brother, Irving Bennett and his wife, Dorothy of New Jersey; his sister, Nancy Schwarz and her husband, Charlie of Delaware; his brother, Robert ìBobî Bennett and his companion, Pam of Vermont; many special nieces and nephews, as well as life time friends of New Jersey and Vermont.

Tom's family wishes to extend many thanks to the mother of Tom's children, Joanne Minzer of Illinois for helping Tom with some of the frustrations of his illness as well as the warmth and care of the nursing staff at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, Franklin County Home Health Agency ñ Hospice Program, Spears Funeral Home and our loving family and friends.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Stables of the Pidgeon Hill Farm on Route 118 in East Berkshire. Prayers and a time of sharing stories and memories will be held at 3 p.m., led by Deacon Jon Ramey.

RUTH T. SCHAEFER
ST. ALBANS - Ruth T. Schaefer, 87, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 27, 2006, at Northwestern Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Long Island, N.Y., April 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Edward and Mae Theede.
Mrs. Schaefer lived in St. Albans for 18 months, coming from Madison, N.J. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Madison, and belonged to sewing and quilting clubs. She was very active in the Association for the Help of Retarded Children. She enjoyed sewing and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Jim and Mary Gillis of Barre, Vt., and Douglas and Lydia Gillis of Port Arthur, Texas; a daughter and her husband, Roberta and George Geier of Dover, Del.; a brother-in-law, Bernard Newton of Elmhurst, N.Y.; two nephews, Ron and Jon Theede; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two husbands, Frederick W. Schaefer and James S. Gillis; a son, Peter Gillis; and daughter, Patricia Gillis.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church with the Reverend Herman Benjamin officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Interment will be later in the family lot in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vermont Special Olympics, 368 Avenue D, Suite 30, Williston, Vt. 05495, or the Holiday House Activity Fund, C/O Maddie Howard, 642 Sheldon Road, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.

YVETTE J. DUPUIS
ST. ALBANS - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Yvette J. Dupuis on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church with Father Maurice Roy celebrating. Assisting Father Roy at the altar were Maynard Gosselin and Russell Porwitzky. The organist and soloist was Mary Jo Gillilan.

The Crucifix was placed on the casket by Yvette's daughter-in-laws, Yolande and Susan Hartmann. Readings from Scripture were read by Julie and Carmen Hartmann. Offertory gifts were presented by Allie, Anna, Alissa Hartmann, and Kaitlyn Duprey, all great-granddaughters. An honor guard was present from the Ladies of St. Anne, with Rosalie Jacques presenting the Prayers for the Departed Members of the Ladies of St. Anne.

Interment followed in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers were grandsons Greg, Jeff, and Jim Hartmann; and great-grandsons, Justin Rushlow, Brooks, and Michael Hartmann.

Delegations in attendance were from Franklin County Rehab Center, Holiday House Nursing Facility, North Elm Street neighbors, Heritage Lane Neighbors, Rachel's Styling Center, and Total Yard Care.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

MARJORIE RICHARD
ST. ALBANS - Mrs. Marjorie Richard, 97, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Sept. 26, 2006, at Redstone Villa Nursing Home. She was born in Highgate Falls, Vt. on Oct. 26, 1908, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Lena (Bushey) Ploof. On Sept. 18, 1930, she married Edward Richard Jr., who predeceased her in 1980.

Mrs. Richard was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Fairfield and was formerly employed at the Peoples Trust Company for 12 years.

Survivors include a son, Robert E. Richard and his wife, Judy of Wildwood, Fla.; three daughters and their husbands, Nancy J. and Francis O'Leary of Summerfield, Fla., Sally A. and Donald Myers of Martinsburg, W.V., and Betty J. and Rene Garceau of Fairfield, a sister, Katherine Perkins of Bethel; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Besides her husband, Edward, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Ploof; and three sisters, Wilma Touseau, Betty Jones and Sylvia Paratta.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials in her name to St. Patrick's Church, P.O. Box 18, Fairfield, Vt. 05455.

BRIAN A. WHITE
JERICHO - Brian Arthur White, age 37, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at his home in Jericho after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Brian was born on March 22, 1969, in Burlington, Vt., son of William E. White and Bonnie (Howard) Drinkwine. In 1985, at the young age of 15, Brian knew he wanted to be a firefighter and he would help as he could with the Huntington Volunteer Fire Department until old enough to join. He served with the Essex Junction Fire Department from 1990 to 1993 and then joined Essex Town Fire Department continuing his fire service during his illness.

Brian wasn't a man of many words but he had many loves, foremost his loving wife of 15 years, the former Ann-Marie Nichols, whom he joined in marriage on May 18, 1991, at St. Pius X Church, and their two sons. He also loved driving truck, working on his 75 Trans Am, plowing snow, firefighting, hanging out and being goofy. He was known as Uncle Boo, Buck, Bubba and Babie Hughie. Brian had touched the lives of so many people over the years not just with his family and fellow fire fighters but also those whom he had been employed with while working at Vermont Heating & Ventilating, MCHV, Burlington Food Service, Home Depot, S.D. Ireland and most recently with the Town of Hinesburg. Brian will be dearly missed by everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Ann-Marie (Nichols) White; his two sons, Matthew White and Michael White; his mother and step-father, Bonnie (Howard) and Donald Drinkwine; his father and step-mother, William and Susan White; paternal grandparents, Hugh ìBertî and Betty White; maternal grandmother, Barbara Howard; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Leona Nichols; five brothers: Robert Hamilton and wife Lisa, Bradley White and fiancÈe Kelly Frazier, Blaine White and wife Carolyn, half-brother Everette White, stepbrother Steven Drinkwine; five sisters: half-sister Jeanne Marie White and Micheal Timothy Hamilton Sr., adopted sisters, Bobbie-Jo Russin and husband Brian, Becky White, stepsisters, Janie and Jennie Drinkwine; three brother-in-laws, Randall Nichols and wife Diane, Jeffrey Nichols and wife Wendy, and Anthony Nichols and wife Amy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Charles Nichols; and maternal grandfather, Alan Howard.

Visiting hours will be today, Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the A. W. Rich Funeral Home ñ Essex Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X with the Reverend Charles Ranges officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Deer View Cemetery Williston with full fire department honors.

GEORGE E. PLOUFFE
ST. ALBANS - A Funeral Service was held for Mr. George E. Plouffe, Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel with Father W. Andre Houle, Pastor of St. Mary's Church, as the celebrant. Interment followed in the Ploof family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers were Earl and Chad Machia, Mark Stenta Jr., Mark Lafrance, John White, and Dan Bockus.

Sunday evening, Father Houle conducted a Christian Wake Service with George's family and friends in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home. An organ musical tribute was provided by George's granddaughter, Melina Stenta.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

THOMAS J. BENNETT
