Leodore H. Doxter

FERRISBURGH — Leodore H. Doxter, 72, died April 26, 2001, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

He was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Newport, N.H., son of Robert H. and Louise (Terrien) Doxter.

Mr. Doxter was a farmer in New Hampshire, New York and Vermont.

He was a member of the Vergennes Victory Baptist Church, the Addison County Eagles 3801 and the Cattlemen Association.

He was an avid sport fan.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ruth (Dow) Doxter of Ferrisburgh; five daughters, Luanne Doxter of St. George, Sandra Duprey and Tammy Brunet of Ferrisburgh, Tracey Jerome of New Haven and Laurie Mutini of Connecticut; two brothers, Richard Doxter and Alfred Doxter of New Hampshire; a sister, Viola White of New Hampshire; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Vergennes Victory Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburgh.

Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.

Contributions may be made to the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad, Vergennes, 05491.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Brown-McClay Funeral Home.

John E. Keyes

SHELBURNE — The memorial service for John E. Keyes, who died March 30, 2001, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wake Robin Community Center in Shelburne. Burial will be held Sunday, June 17, in the Memorial Garden at Christ Church (Episcopal) in Montpelier.

Elizabeth Baldwin

DORSET — Elizabeth Baldwin of Dorset and Vero Beach, Fla., died April 25, 2001. She was born in Toronto, Canada, on May 30, 1938.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children, Wendy and Michael Darragh, Jonathan, Lesley and her grandson, Michael Shane. She is also survived by her sister, Heather Cartwright and brother, Robert Kenwright.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 4 at 11 a.m. in Dorset, Vermont, at the United Church of Dorset.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Church of Dorset and the Dorset Nursing Association.

Terry Lee Brinegar

MOUNT HOLLY - Terry Lee Brinegar, 44, died on April 8, 2001, in a drowning accident while fishing on the Connecticut River.

He was born in Geneva, Ill., the son of Barbara and Kenneth Brinegar. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and belonged to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 723 and the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers Association.

Later in life, he graduated with high honors from Vermont Technical College, where he was named national outstanding campus leader, and was a member of the national honor society of engineering.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; a daughter, Katrin Brinegar; a stepson, Jason Gilman; four brothers, Kenneth, Dennis, Joseph and Michael Brinegar; and one sister, Shanna Maher.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.

Pearsons Funeral Home, 17 Church St. in Lyndonville is in charge of arrangements.

Doris Phoebe (Colby) Olson

RUTLAND - Doris Phoebe (Colby) Olson, 81, of Rutland died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1919, in Hartland, VT, daughter of Elmer and Etta (Cole) Colby.

Mrs. Olson was the wife of Herbert Olson, Sr. who died in 1992.

Doris loved searching for Indian relics, and accompanied her son on many of his trips afield. Her luck usually led her to some of the rarest artifacts.

Her thoughtfulness, caring and many kindnesses to others will no be forgotten.

Survivors include her devoted son, Herbert Olson, Jr. of Rutland; a brother, Charles and his wife, Judy of Sarasota, FL; and nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Tossing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Misa Turgeon

WALLNGFORD - Misa Turgeon, 77, of Wallingford died on April 28, 2001, at his home after a brief illness.

Arrangements are pending at the Aldous Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, P.O. Box 787, Rutland, VT 05702-0787.

Bailey R. Frank

ST. JOHNSBURY — Bailey R. Frank, 87, formerly of St. Johnsbury, died April 27, 2001, at Fletcher Allen Health Care after a brief illness.

He was born in Rutland, April 21, 1914, son of Samuel and Anna Goldstone Frank.

He attended Rutland schools and the University of Pennsylvania.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a quartermaster.

For more than 50 years, Mr. Frank wrote the column “The Skies Today” for papers all over the U.S. and Canada.

He often visited those in nursing homes.

He is survived by his five children, Dorothy Perkins of St. Albans, Carol Jones of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Samuel W. Frank of New Castle, Va., Michael Frank of Florence, Ariz., and Phyllis Parent of Essex Junction; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be private.

Contributions may be made to the Lancaster Humane Society, 62 Martin Meadow Pond Road, Lancaster, N.H. 03584.

Edward R. Disorda

FOREST DALE — The funeral service for Edward Robert Disorda, 93, who died Wednesday at Pleasant Manor Nursing home in Rutland, was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Forestdale Wesleyan Church.

The Rev. James Brennan, pastor, officiated. A graveside committal service and burial followed at Forestdale Cemetery.

Organist was Shirley Wheeler.

Bearers included Jeremy D’Avignon of Whiting, Rock D’Avignon of New Haven, Royadon D’Avignon of Leicester, Kevin Disorda and Shawn D’Avignon.

Following the committal service the family received friends in the church hall.

Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon was in charge of arrangements.

Misa Turgeon

WALLINGFORD — Misa Turgeon, 77, of Wallingford died April 28, 2001, at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born July 22, 1923, in Notre Dame Des Bois, Quebec, Canada, son of Onaris and Rosalif (Goulet) Turgeon.

He married Adrienne Beaudrebard on June 26, 1954.

He grew up in Canada, relocating to Connecticut in 1967 and to Wallingford in 1972. Mr. Turgeon had been employed as a machinist by Mal Tool for 30 years prior to his retirement. During his retirement he was employed by the Town of Wallingford.

Survivors include his wife, Adrienne Turgeon of Wallingford, three daughters, Leonie Turgeon and Denise Patrick, both of Rutland, and Desneiges Turgeon of Wallingford; two sons, Jacques Turgeon of Rutland and Paul Turgeon of Wallingford, three sisters, Alida Audet, Sister Leonie Turgeon, P.S.S.F., and Monique Lucy; five brothers, Roland Turgeon, Andre Turgeon, Lionel Turgeon, Armand Turgeon and Real Turgeon; a granddaughter, Lindsay Turgeon, two grandsons, Dale Turgeon and Jamie Jackson, two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a granddaughter, Christine Turgeon Gould; two sisters; and two brothers.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Aldous Funeral Home.

William C. Burden Jr. Rites

DANBY — The memorial service for William Charles “Bill” Burden, 67, of Danby, who died April 25, 2001, was held Saturday at the Danby Congregational Church.

The Rev. Lester Tufts of Canajoharie, N.Y., officiated.

Grandchildren Farron Savage, Cody Parker and Todd Savage provided musical selections. Farron and Todd Savage shared the eulogy.

Marble Lodge 76, F&AM, provided Masonic services.

Honorary bearers were Harry Ralph Sr., C.G. Morey, Todd Morey, B.J. Greene, Keith Greene and Aaron Savage.

A reception at the Masonic Lodge followed the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brooke Burden Educational Trust Fund, in care of Ms. Deanna Wetherby, Factory Point National Bank, 20-22 West St., Rutland, 05701.

Paul B. Anderson Rites

PITTSFORD — The graveside service for Paul Burman Anderson, 71, of the Corn Hill Road, who died Jan. 12, 2001, was held Saturday at the South Street Cemetery in Proctor.

The Rev. Russell Gates, pastor of the Union Church of Proctor, officiated.

Military honors were provided by American Legion Post 31 of Rutland.

Donations may be made to the Pittsford First Response, Box 433, Pittsford, 05763.

Aldous Funeral Home of Rutland was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Lane Erickson

Frances Lane Erickson, 86, of Center Rutland passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 28, 2001.

She was born on Oct. 12, 1914, in Rutland, Vt., daughter of Perry and Linnea (Johnson) Lane.

She married Erick Erickson in 1937 and lived in Proctor until 1990.

Mrs. Erickson was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Proctor.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty J. Simonds of Center Rutland; a brother, Perry Lane of Rotonda W., Fla.; a sister, Ruth Messer of Rutland, Vt.; two granddaughters, Jean Dietl of Satellite Beach, Fla., and Susan Clark of Rutland, Vt.; four great-grandchildren, Lauren and Erika Dietl, and Colin and Sara Clark, who made her eyes sparkle each time she would see them; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Linnea A. (Johnson) Lane in 1973 and her father, Perry T. Lane in 1941; her husband, Erick Erickson, in June 1983; and a brother, Richard D. Lane, in 1991.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from noon until 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Proctor.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Burial will be in the South Street Cemetery in Proctor., Following the burial, friends are invited to a reception at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6 Gibbs St., Proctor, Vt., 05765.

The Tossing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel K. Stickney Rites

CASTLETON — Memorial services for Ethel King Stickney, 88, of Castleton, who died Feb. 10, 2001, were held Sunday at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Mark R. Pitton, associate minister, officiating.

Words of remembrance were offered by a son, Robert Stickney.

Organist was Alan D. Walker, and soloist was Alan B. Westin.

Tossing Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
