Harry L. Lindberg

CAVENDISH - Harry L. Lindberg, 88, of Lindberg Drive, died Sunday afternoon at the Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born October 30, 1912, in Branford, Conn., the son of Lorens and Amanda (Bergdahl) Lindberg. He was educated in Branford public schools, graduating in 1930. Music was a very important part of his life. He attended the Interlochen School of Music for summer sessions, studying the violin. He played the saxophone for over 60 years in various bands, most recently "The Rythmntones." On August 5, 1939, he married Mavis Falk in Branford, Conn.

Harry was employed as a field engineer for the Malleable Iron Fittings Company in the oil burner division before establishing his own business, Harlin Equipment and Service. He was a dealer for Kohler generators in the state of Connecticut, but specifically in the Thimble Islands in Stony Creek, Conn. Retirement came after a move to Vermont in 1966, but only after being employed at General Electric in Ludlow, Vermont as an electrician, retiring in 1974. He was a former selectman, and was one of the citizens of the year for the town of Cavendish in 1999. He was a member of the Cavendish Baptist Church, the Cavendish Historical Society, and was an avid hunter and fisherman in the states of Connecticut, Maine and Vermont.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis L. Lindberg of Cavendish; two sons, Lorens N. Lindberg and his wife Priscilla of Cavendish, and Carl E. (Buzz) Lindberg and his wife Pamela of Cavendish; a daughter, Loraine (Cookie) Shand and her husband Ernest of Ascutney; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Maja L. Larson of Somersworth, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Alan and Everet; and a sister, Dorothy.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cavendish Baptist Church with the Rev. Cathleen Narowitz, pastor, and the Rev. Jane Buswell of Tyson, co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Cavendish Center Cemetery.

There will be no visiting hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Cavendish Baptist Church or to the Cavendish Historical Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.

Donald G. Perkins

HARTFORD - Donald G. Perkins, 72, died May 6, 2001, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

He was born April 13, 1929, in Quechee, the son of Stanley T.R. and Bernice (Darling) Perkins.

He attended school in Quechee.

Mr. Perkins married Annabelle Boyce on May 28, 1949.

He worked at Worthmore Feeds in White River Junction, at Ward Baking Co. as a baker for several years, Sanborn Oil and the Evans Group, all in White River Junction.

He was a member of Hartford BPO Elks.

Mr. Perkins enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife of Hartford; two daughters, Marina G. Arroyo of Quechee and Donna G. Weiss of Hartford; two sons, Robert Perkins of Boulder, Colo., and Douglas Perkins of South Woodstock; 12 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters, and a sister, Anne Dallmeyer of Chester, Va.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Branchview Cemetery in South Royalton.

Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction.

Leonard C. Hamm

BRATTLEBORO - Leonard Clark "Len" Hamm, 82, formerly of Norwalk, Conn., died May 7, 2001, at his home after a long illness.

He was born Aug. 19, 1918, in Norwalk, the son of Earl VanDusen and Isa (Palmer) Hamm.

He was attended Norwalk High School.

Mr. Hamm married Verna Mae Wood on April 5, 1941, in Norwalk. He and his wife served as foster parents for Children's Services of Connecticut for more than 15 years, helping to raise more than 35 children.

He was employed by the state of Connecticut Highway Department in New Caanan and Westport for 25 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1975. He had previously worked at the Hat Shop, the Connecticut Lace Mill and Friedsons Store, all in Norwalk.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was the recipient of the European Theatre Victory Medal II.

Mr. Hamm was a member of First Congregational Church of West Brattleboro and a former member of the Norwalk Congregational Church, where he served as a deacon for 25 years. He also was a member of the Brattleboro AARP Senior Singers.

He was active with the Boy Scouts of America Program, serving as cubmaster, neighborhood commissioner and assistant district commissioner.

He enjoyed berry picking, woodworking, and making birdhouses and wooden toys for the First Congregational Church's annual Christmas bazaar. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and bingo player.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William V.D. Hamm of Guilford; two daughters, Lorna Mae Macinnis of New Milford, Conn., and Joyce E. Reynolds of Belcamp, Md.; a brother, Vincent L. Hamm of Norwalk; a sister, Mildred Gladys Sala of Norwalk; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Earl P. Hamm, and a stepsister, Gwen Hamm.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church in West Brattleboro with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Roth, pastor, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace St., Brattleboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Vermont Home Health Agency, 1 Holstein Place, Brattleboro, 05301, or Brattleboro Area Hospice, 191 Canal St., Brattleboro, 05301.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Atamaniuk Funeral Home.

Kimith Hickin

WEST DUMMERSTON - Kimith Deena "Kim" Hickin, 53, died May 7, 2001, at her home.

She was born Dec. 17, 1947, in Brattleboro, the daughter of Dean D. and Charlena H. (Pearson) Kneeland.

She graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1965.

She married Randall Hickin on April 4, 1970.

She was employed for the past 16 years as a para-educator for the Brattleboro Southeast Supervisory Union in Dummerston and Brattleboro, and at Oak Grove School for the past nine years. She had also worked in the admissions office at the former Windham College in Putney, and was co-owner and manager of the Root Cellar Farm Stand in Newfane during the late 1970s.

Mrs. Hickin was known as a baker, making the traditional buttermilk doughnuts for the West Dummerston Fire Department's Annual Sugar on Snow Supper. She also made fruit pies that were sold at the Copley Square Farm Market in Boston, Mass.

She was a founding member of the Dummerston Community Center and a longtime member of the Dummer-ston Congre-gational Church.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Deena M. Hickin of Dover, Karla M. Hickin of Townshend, Keri A. Hickin and Elizabeth B. Hickin, both of West Dummerston; a sister, Kandace K. Bisbee of Westminster; a brother, Mark R. Kneeland of Hinsdale; her grandmother, Hazel B. Pearson of Brattleboro, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father and mother who died in 2000.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Dummerston Congregational Church with the Rev. William Warriner, pastor, officiating. Committal services and burial will be private.

There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dummerston Congregational Church, in care of Esther Falk, 210 Falk Road, East Dummerston, 05346, or the Dummerston Community Center, P.O. Box 468, West Dummerston, 05357.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace St. Brattleboro.

ASCUTNEY - A Celebration of Life for Joey Wendlandt, who died April 8, 2001, will be held Sunday, May 20, at 1 p.m. in the Weathersfield Center Church in Weathersfield with the Rev. Nicholas Boke officiating.

PLYMOUTH - The memorial service for Lloyd Y. Moyer, 79, who died April 6, 2001, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bridgewater Congregational Church with Gwen Groff, pastor of Bethany Mennonite Church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.

Charles H. Hoskison

PLYMOUTH - The graveside service for Charles Henry Hoskison, 96, who died Jan. 12, 2001, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Plymouth Notch Cemetery with the Rev. Jane Buswell, pastor of Tyson Congregational Church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.

BRIDGEWATER CORNERS - The committal service for Tony Avitable, 91, who died Feb. 10, 2001, will be held in Plymouth Notch Cemetery Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jane Buswell, pastor of Tyson Congregational Church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.

Carroll N. Mosher

PLAINFIELD, N.H. - Committal services for Carroll N. Mosher, 86, who died March 5, 2001, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield with the Rev. Suellen Leugers, pastor of Plainfield Community Baptist Church in Plainfield, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor.

HARTLAND - Committal services for Roger W. Flanagan, 86, who died Dec. 25, 2000, will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. in Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland with the Rev. Robert W.W. Moyer, pastor of First Congregational Church in Hartland, officiating.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION - The graveside service for Marion Currier, 88, who died March 25, 2001, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in West Lebanon Cemetery.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION - The graveside service for Lawrence Clay, 84, who died March 21, 2001, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Brownsville Cemetery in West Windsor.

Samuel E. Farrar

PROCTORSVILLE - The graveside committal and burial service for Samuel E. Farrar, who died Jan. 19, 2001, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow with the Rev. Jane Buswell officiating.

American Legion Post 36 and Post 4 will provide military services.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Adams & Kenney Funeral Home in Ludlow.

Alderic R. Kellett

SPRINGFIELD - Committal services for Alderic R. Kellett, who died Jan. 1, 2001, will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield.

Debra Hammond

BALTIMORE - The memorial service for Debra Hammond, 49, who died Jan. 17, 2001, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD - The graveside committal service for Chester H. Day, 81, who died March 30, 2001, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield with the Rev. Richard Cederholm, pastor of North Springfield Baptist Church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.

Doris R. Davis

SPRINGFIELD - The graveside memorial service for Doris R. Davis, 84, formerly of Springfield, who died Dec. 5, 2000, will be held Saturday at noon in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield with the Rev. William Scherwerts, pastor of United Methodist Church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.

Harold G. Carter

SPRINGFIELD - The graveside committal service for Harold G. "Muggs" Carter, 73, formerly of Springfield, who died Dec. 22, 2000, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery in Charlestown, N.H., with the Rev. Thomas Hiltsley, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.

The Robert L. Johnson Post 771 of Springfield will provide military honors.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.

Ruth R. Payne

BRIDPORT - Ruth Rivers Payne, 95, died May 5, 2001, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law with whom she had lived for the past several years.

She was born March 19, 1906, in Ferrisburgh, daughter of William and Nettie (Porter) Rivers.

She was a member of the Bridport Congregational Church and the Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Barnes of Bridport; a brother, Cecil Rivers of Bridport; a sister, Mattie Atkins of Richmond; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Wallace L. Payne in 1996; a sister, Mabel Rivers; and a brother, Roy Rivers.

The graveside committal service and burial will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Bridport Central Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Franklin, pastor of the Bridport Congregational Church, officiating. The family will hold a reception in the church vestry following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 754, Middlebury, 05753, Town Line First Response, P.O. Box 82, Bridport, 05734, or the Bridport Congregational Church, P.O. Box 55, Bridport, 05734.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson Funeral Service of Middlebury.
