JAMES A. WESCOTT

GEORGIA -- James Allen Wescott, age 40 of Georgia, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, March 22, 2002, in Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans as a result of an automobile accident.

Jim was born in Burlington on Feb. 4, 1962, the son of Floyd and Geraldine (Young) Wescott. He graduated from Colchester High School in the Class of 1979. He was employed with Edlund Company of Burlington.

He married the former Darlene Lanpher in Waterville on June 25, 1983. He enjoyed quiet times at his favorite fishing spots on the Lamoille River and always looked forward to the many family camping trips, especially on Silver Lake in Barnard. Most of all he cherished every moment he could spend with his loving wife and three beautiful daughters, including the precious times shared with his special "adopted" children whenever possible. He was a loving husband, father, "adopted dad" and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all of those who were truly fortunate enough to have known and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Darlene and their three daughters all of Georgia, Amber Lynne Wescott and "Critter" Johnson, Amanda Rae Wescott, Alisha Carol Wescott; his father Floyd Wescott of Winooski; his mother Geraldine Young (Martell) of Burlington; three brothers, Ernie Wescott of Burlington, Floyd "Humphrey" Wescott and his wife Carrie of Swanton, Mark Wescott and Cathy Simard of Burlington; three sisters, Judy Kirby and Shawn Harper of Burlington, Linda Perkins and husband Mike of Wells River, Gerry "Jelly Bean" Charbonneau and her husband Randy and their son Kyle of Georgia; several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins including a special aunt and uncle, Marie and Mitchell Wescott of Florida; Jim's Special Family Wendell and Shirley Lanpher of Waterville, Dennis Lanpher and wife Kari Jo and their two daughters of Westford, Deneen and Tim Russell and their three children of Johnson; special grandparents Winnie Lanpher of Belvidere, Natalie Cutting of Waterville, and "adopted" Gram, Corrine Camley of Burlington; special aunts, uncles and cousins; his "honorary" sons Michael Johnson, Brian Rogers, Justin and Chris Akey, Steve Menard; and all of the neighborhood kids and many, many friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 25, 2002, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the Georgia United Methodist Church, Rt. 7, Georgia on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to the Epilepsy Association of Vermont, 59 Merchants Row, Rutland, Vt. 05701. Arrangements are by the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home, 1176 Main St., Fairfax.

NORMAN C. BROE

RICHFORD -- Norman C. Broe passed away on March 21, 2002, with his beloved family by his side at the Fletcher Allen Hospital. He was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Richford the son of Burt and Ruby Hughes Broe.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jane Broe; and sons Norman Broe, Jr. of North Carolina and friend Judy, Timothy Broe, Jeffrey Broe of Stratford, N.H., Travis Broe of Derby Line; and daughters Sheree of Clarmont, N.H., Kimberely Broe and her friend Michael of Claremont, N.H., Betsy Broe and her fiance Alan Kenney of New Hampshire, Mary Skidgel and her husband Paul of Canaan, Norma Jean of Charleston, Sara Little of Johnson. He is also survived by many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; step-children Joshua Hammond and fiancee Jessie Rounds of Berkshire, Liza Hammond of South Dakota. He is also survived by his brothers Wayne Broe and close friend Phyllis, Larry Broe and wife Claire, Bruce Broe, Myron Broe and wife Debbie. His sisters Charlene Kunchinsas, Gloria Broe, Diane Champagne.

His greatest love was his ministry, which he held in Richford. He also had an overwhelming abundance of love and compassion for people and animals. He would always go on and beyond that extra measure to be there for people when in need. He was foremost loved and respected by his colleagues in his field of ministry.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26, at the Essex Alliance Church, 36 Old Stage Rd., Essex Jct. at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., before the service. Interment will be held in the spring in West Charleston Cemetery. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to The Flowing River of Life Fellowship Church in Richford at 22 Hamilton Place, Richford, Vt. 05476.

HARLAND G. TITEMORE

FRANKLIN -- Harland G. Titemore, age 74, husband of Ruth (McDermott) Titemore, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

He was born Nov. 5, 1927, in Franklin the son of the late Glenn and Myrtle (Eldred) Titemore.

He was raised and attended schools in Franklin and then attended Bliss Electrical School in Tacoma Park, Md., graduating in 1947. Following his graduation he moved to Lyndonville where he was employed and was eventually the manager of Lyndonville Electric from 1948 to 1976. He was also a founder and General Manager of V.P.P.S.A. in Burlington from 1977 to 1983. He then was employed at Swanton Electric from 1987-1995 as the Assistant Manager. He was the former president of N.E.P.P.A., a 50-year member and past master of the Lyndonville Masonic Lodge F&AM, a former member of the Lyndonville Rotary Club, and a member of the Franklin County Sugarmakers.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Titemore of Franklin; three sons Larry Titemore and his wife Vickie of Lyndonville, David Titemore of Franklin, and Richard Titemore and his wife Jennifer of York, Pa.; five grandchildren, Matthew Titemore, Stacey and Derick Titemore, Gina and Lincoln Mazzei; two brothers and their wives Carroll and Kay Titemore of Liverpool, N.Y. and Robert and Geraldine Titemore of Burlington; one sister and her husband Priscilla and Willard Mahoney of Sheldon; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Alan Titemore.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at the Franklin United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Village Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, March 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home on 96 Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls.

For those who wish, contributions in his memory may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

CORINNE I. SWEET

SHELDON -- Corinne I. Sweet, age 64, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

She was born Aug. 4, 1937, in Sheldon, the daughter of the late Donald and Ida (Dunham) Benjamin.

Corinne lived most of her life in Sheldon where she raised her family and helped her husband on the farm for many years. She had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert Sweet of Sheldon; three daughters, Nena Sweet and her friend Steven Phillips of Enosburg, Viola Snider and her husband Mark of Enosburg, Louise Dudley and her husband Hugh Jr. of Berkshire; two sons, Joseph and Daniel Sweet both of Sheldon; seven grandchildren, Earle Rogers Jr. of East Highgate, Gregory, Owen and Wade Snider of Enosburg; Hugh III, Christopher and Cole Dudley of Berkshire; a foster granddaughter, Brittany Davis of Enosburg; a brother and his wife Norman and Linda Benjamin of Ludlow, Mass.; a foster sister and her husband, Sharlene and Chester Sweet of Sheldon; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

In keeping with Corinne's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to stop by at Corinne's house to visit with the family.

For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Vermont Affiliate, P.O. Box 485, Williston, Vt. 05495.

Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls is in charge of arrangements.

ROBERT EUGENE (GENE) SAVARD

ST. ALBANS -- Mr. Robert Eugene "Gene" Savard, age 85, died Thursday afternoon, March 21, 2002, at his home following an illness of several months. He was born in Burlington, Nov. 10, 1916, son of the late Fred and Ethel (LaFountaine) Savard.

At an early age he was a part of the Civilian Conservation Corporation (C.C.C.), who helped with public projects. Later he worked for George S. Wood Tire Company over a period of 20 years. Gene was an avid fisherman and hunter and owned and operated Busheys Sporting Goods Store, on Kingman Street, for over 10 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Owl Club and the Sportsmans Club of Franklin County. Gene will be remembered as a very giving and generous person with a special love for children.

Sept. 5, 1937, he married Cecile Richard. Following 58 years of marriage, Cecile died Feb. 10, 1995.

Gene is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Judith and Marvin Alderman of Georgia and Greeta and Alan Gonyea of St. Albans Town; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives Charles and Mildred Savard of Mississippi; Paul and Emma Savard of Florida; three sisters, Beverly and her husband Larry Collins of Fairfield, Honey Shaw, Connie and her husband Ernest Carlson all of Brattleboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers James Alan Savard and Milton Savard.

His family would like to express their appreciation to the Home Health Nurses for all their kindnesses. Also to Mary S. Bostwick, R.N., his neighbor, for all her help and friendship.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the Brady & Levesque Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home, 86 South Main St. from 2 p.m. until the service time on Monday. Interment will be in the Savard family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

ROBERT R. RANDALL

ALLENTOWN Pa./ENOSBURG FALLS -- Robert R. Randall, 69, died on March 20, 2002, at the Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa.

Born in Enosburg Falls to Ernest and Robina (McBryde) Randall, Robert was employed as a Vice President of Dun & Bradstreet Corp. in various cities for 35 years, retiring in 1988. Shirley J. (Hess) Randall, Robert's wife of 45 years, survives him.

Robert attended Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. He was a 1976 graduate of Dartmouth University, Business School of Credit and Financial Management. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Allentown, Pa., and was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Robert was also a member of the Allentown West Rotary Club, where he was Past President and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a 32nd degree Mason in Edwin G. Martin Lodge F&AM Rajah Shrine of Reading and a member of Brookside Country Club.

Along with his wife, Shirley, Robert is survived by his son Jeffrey Randall of Schaumburg, Ill.; his daughters Jane Monico of Charlotte, N.C., and Joyce Ganci of Cary Ind.; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. His parents predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Rd., Allentown, Pa. 18104. Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at the Church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2121 City Line Rd., Bethlehem, Pa. 18017, or the Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Rd., Allentown, Pa. 18104.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville, Pa. 18051.

JAMES W. KATON

MILTON -- James Walter Katon, 65, died Monday evening, March 18, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a long bout with emphysema, with his loving family by his side.

Jim was born in Burlington on Jan. 2, 1937, the son of Walter and Doris (McSweeney) Katon.

He had worked for Green Mountain Power for over 18 years. On April 11, 1974, he married Marlene Easton in Burlington. They have lived in Milton for over 20 years. Jim was a great husband, father and papa.

In addition to Marlene, he is survived by his children, Philip Katon and his fiancee Trish Reynolds of Swanton, Daniel Katon and his wife Lisa of South Burlington, Alice Katon of St. Albans, Wendy Katon of Milton; and by his 14 grandchildren, who were his life, Tammy, James, Angel, Myleah, A.J., Dalton, D.J., Kyle, Donovin, Kelsey, Damien, Philip II, Kyth and Dayla; by his sister Alice Foura of Essex; his brothers Leon of Winooski, Butch, Chuck, Earl, and Roy all of Burlington; and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. At Jim's request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral services.

Arrangements were by the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
