Mollet, Lester Monday, 13 Feb 2006
Lester Royce Mollet died Feb. 13, 2006, in a car accident.
He was 50.
He was born Dec. 5, 1955, in Breese, Ill., to Robert H. and Edna Mollet.
He graduated from Mater Dei High School in Breese, Ill., in 1974 and married Cindy Arter on May 26, 1984.
He worked as a carpenter for 27 years, framing homes in and around Kitsap County.
He was an assistant coach for his son’s Little League team, and enjoyed music and sports.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Mollet; mother, Edna; son, Douglas Mollet, of Port Orchard; daughters Cassandra (and husband Ray) White; Megan Mollet of Port Orchard; brothers Eric and Brian (and wife Julie) Mollet of Port Orchard; sisters Karen (and husband Claude) Knuepfer of Colorado; Cheryl (and husband Steven) Haar of Ill., and Rhonda (and husband Randy) Graff of Colorado; and one grandchild.
A service will be held on Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. at Rill Chapel.

Varo, Daniel Tuesday, 07 Feb 2006
Daniel Jacob Varo, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 7, 2006, in Tacoma.
He was 22.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1983, in Bremerton.
He was raised in Beaverton, Ore., and Port Orchard. He attended South Kitsap schools.
He was the self-employed owner of D@n Imports and worked part-time at the Pizza Factory in Port Orchard.
He was a member of the Northwest Street Racing Club.
He is survived by parents Ernest and Debra Martsching, of Port Orchard, and Donald and Cheryl Varo, of Mossyrock; brother Mike Wittenberger of Mukilteo; and sisters Deanne Bays of Beaverton, Ore., and Dynelle Varo, of Costa Rica.
He was preceded in death by sister Lydia Varo.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 15 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, followed by inurnment at Grand Mound cemetery in Rochester.
A memorial fund has been established at any Key Bank branch.

Wilson, James Saturday, 11 Feb 2006
James Wilson Grant, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 11, 2006, in Bremerton.
He was 90.
He was born on July 24, 1915, in Sprague to James and Rose (Sackman) Grant.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1933. He married Ellora “Peg” Kelly on Nov. 5, 1938, in Bremerton.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a self-employed logger in Kitsap County and later sold real estate during the 1970s and ’80s.
He was a former president of the Knights of Pythias.
He enjoyed square dancing, fishing, swap meets and traveling.
He is survived by sons Terrel Grant of Bremerton and James Grant of Poulsbo; daughter Linda Grant and Ray Hoover, of Magnolia, Texas; sisters Ann (and husband Bob) Wooldrige of Seattle and Betty O’Brien of Lacey; and 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services are private, for family only.
Remembrances can be made to South Kitsap Fire and Rescue, 1974 Fircrest DR. SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366.

King, Myrtle Sunday, 12 Feb 2006
Myrtle Jeanette King of Federal Way died on Feb. 12, 2006.
She was 82.
She was born on July 13, 1923, in Ralph, S.D. to Ole and Petra Storlie, who immigrated from Norway in the late 1800’s.
She worked at a veterans hospital in Fort Vancouver, where she met Walter King. Five weeks later, the pair married on March 19, 1945.
She then lived in in Oregon and later Poulsbo, working as a cook for a hospital and camps.
Her husband Walter died in 2003. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Selmar, Henry, Pete, Norman, Bill and Bud Storlie; sisters Signey Crevier, Palma Blume, Edith Johnson and Vi Disbrow.
She is survived by daughters Shirley (Bob) Tunsen of Spokane, Sharon Sullivan (Ed) of Federal Way, Linda Edwards (John) of Vancouver; son, Bill (Maciana) King of Poulsbo; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Friends Church in Vancouver, WA, and was active in the Women’s Missionary group there.
A service was held Friday at Vancouver First Friends Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Rocks Friends Camp & Conference Center, PO Box 6, Rockaway Beach, Or., 97136.

Dobbelaere, Edward Tuesday, 07 Nov 2006
Edward Dobbelaere Sr., of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 7, 2006, in Bremerton. He was 86.
He was born on April 24, 1920, in Seattle, to Edward and Christine Dobbelaere.
He married Martha Brown on April 17, 1943, in Port Orchard.
He graduated from Ballard High School in 1938.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman, earning seven awards for his service.
He spent 31 years working as an electronics mechanic and foreman at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1973. He also worked on the U.S. Coast Geodesic Survey in 1947.
He was a member of the Radio-Control Society and a member of the American Radio Relay League.
He enjoyed ham radio and playing the drums.
He is survived by wife Martha Dobbelaere of Port Orchard; sons Edward (and wife Kerry) Dobbelaere Jr. of Bremerton and John (and wife Cheri) Dobbelaere of Puyallup; daughters Chris (and husband Frank) Stratton of Puyallup and Marguerite Pickett and Ed Erikson, of Renton; sister Frieda Mack of Ballard; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother John Dobbelaere.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.

Berthiaume, Daniel Wednesday, 04 Oct 2006
Daniel Christopher Berthiaume, of Ellensburg, died on Oct. 4, 2006, in Ellensburg. He was 24.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1981, in Oakland, Calif., to Chance and Janine Berthiaume of Port Orchard.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 2001 and earned an associate’s degree from Olympic College in 2004.
He was a student at Central Washington University majoring in physical education and he managed a fast-food restaurant in Ellensburg.
He enjoyed running, playing guitar, hiking and fishing.
He is survived by parents Chance and Janine Berthiaume of Port Orchard; brother Joshua Berthiaume of Port Orchard; paternal grandmother Connie (and husband Tracy) Berthiaume, paternal grandfather Scott Roberts; and maternal grandmother Josephine Achen.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 11 at Rill Life Trubute Center in Port Orchard.
Remembrances can be made to the Kitsap Humane Society.

Delvo, Bonnie Sunday, 22 Oct 2006
Bonnie Lou Delvo, of Port Orchard, died on Oct. 22, 2006, at home.
She was 52.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1954, in Bremerton to Harvey and Merley (Sigdahl) Olson.
She married Dennis “Butch” Delvo on July 8, 1978, in Bremerton.
She attended South Kitsap High School.
She worked as a housekeeper for several Kitsap families and as a baker in the commissary at Subase Bangor.
She en-joyed bingo, cooking, gardening and crafts.
She is survived by her mother, Merley Olson, of Port Orchard; son Dusty Delvo of Port Orchard; daughter Nichol Delvo of Port Orchard; brother Harley (and wife Wanda), of Tahuya; and sisters Carolyn Olson and Shelly (and husband Bruce) Olson Beile.
She was preceded in death by brothers Marlo and Ronnie Olson.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
Remembrances can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County.

Keller, Charles Friday, 03 Nov 2006
Charles E. “Buzz” Keller, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 3, 2006, at home.
He was 90.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1916, in Dawson County, Mont., to Edward and Johanna (Timmerschmidt) Keller.
He married Betsy Bohn on July 14, 1940, in Rock Springs, Wyo.
He graduated from Rock Springs (Wyo.) High School in 1934 and spend 36 years as a switchman for Union Pacific Railroad before retiring in 1976.
He was a lifetime member of the Oddfellows and was a member of the Congregational Church of Rock Springs, Wyo.
He enjoyed photography, woodworking and traveling.
He is survived by sons John (and wife Royce) Keller of Newcastle, Wyo., and Richard (and wife Vicki) Keller of Port Orchard; daughter Loretta (and husband Jerry) of Bremerton; sister Barbara (and husband Earl) of Denver; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife Betsy Keller in 1997; infant daughter Barbara Keller and brother Earl “Bud” Keller.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. held on Nov. 10 at Rock Spring (Wyo.) cemetery.
