Mildred Berry

Born in Cherokee, Alabama on Oct. 4, 1915

Departed on Oct. 18, 2011 and resided in Kennewick, WA.

Mildred L. Berry passed away October 18, 2011 in Kennewick at age of 96.

She was born October 4, 1915 to Alexander and Belle Rhoden in Cherokee, Alabama.

She married Lelion Berry and they had one son, Joe.

They moved to Washington State July 4, 1948.

She was a homemaker and loved to garden,

She was loved by all of her family and will be dearly missed.

She was a long time member of South Hills Baptist Church in Kennewick.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, one brother, and one great grandson. She is survived by son Joe (Marla) Berry; grandsons, Rod (Nita) Berry and Lynn Berry; one sister Ida Kauffman; and one brother Milton (Blanche) Rhoden; six great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Bernadette McBride and her staff at Legacy Lodge and Hospice at the Chaplaincy for the excellent care Mildred was given.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice at the Chaplaincy or charity of your choice.

Visitation will be Friday October 21, from 3-8pm at Mueller's Chapel of the Falls.

Funeral Services will be Saturday October 22, 2011 at 1:30 pm at Mueller's Chapel of the Falls, 314 W. 1st Ave., Kennewick, WA.

Interment will follow at Riverview Heights cemetery, 1200 S. Olympia St. Kennewick, WA.

James (Jim) Irving McNeill

Born in Tacoma Park, Maryland on Oct. 8, 1946

Departed on Sep. 26, 2011 and resided in Pasco, WA.

James "Jim" McNeill, a resident of Pasco, died Monday, September 26, 2011.

He was diagnosed with mesothelioma in April, and died of related complications following surgery at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA.

His wife Peggy and son James were at his side. He was 64.

Jim was born to Willard McNeill and Dorothy Beardsley McNeill on October 8, 1946, the second of four children and grew up in Spencerville, MD.

Jim became the "man of the house" at age 13 when his father died.

He graduated with a B.S. in Physics from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI in 1968 and immediately married his high-school sweetheart, Margaret "Peggy" Walker.

After college Jim and Peggy moved to Southern California so Jim could attend medical school at Loma Linda University where he completed an M.D. degree in 1972 and a residency in Ophthalmology in 1975.

Jim took additional training in corneal surgery at the University of Florida from 1975-1977.

He subsequently returned to California to join the faculty at Loma Linda University medical school and became chair of the ophthalmology department in 1979, a position he held for 10 years.

In 1977, Jim founded the Inland Eye Bank to collect and distribute corneal tissue for transplant surgery.

In 1993, Jim moved his family to Pasco, where he joined the Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute (PCLI) in Kennewick as an eye surgeon.

In his 18 years with PCLI he performed thousands of cataract and laser surgeries on patients from across the Northwest.

Jim was an active member of the Richland Seventh-day Adventist Church where he taught Sabbath School classes.

He served on the local church school board of Tri-City Junior Academy, which was very dear to his heart.

Jim was an avid pilot and enjoyed flying his bright yellow Super Cub in the mountains of Eastern Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

Jim also loved music and sang with the Tri-Cities Men's Chorus.

With his wife Peggy he was a frequent concert attendee at the Battelle Performing Arts Center.

Jim is survived by wife Peggy; sons James (Mendi Carroll), Nathan, Seth (Corraine McNeill), and David; granddaughters Rose Carroll and Esther McNeill; and siblings Don McNeill, Judy Coe, and Jeanine McNeill and Mary Norcliffe.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, 3:30 p.m., at Kennewick Seventh Day Adventist Church on 10th Avenue in Kennewick.

Arrangements are being handled by Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home.

Doris Fletcher

Born in Willmar, Minnesota on Nov. 25, 1917

Departed on Aug. 26, 2011 and resided in Eugene, OR.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20th, 2011 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick for Doris Berg Fletcher of Eugene, OR, who died Aug. 26 of age related causes. She was 93.

She was born Nov. 25, 1917 in Willmar, MN to Andrew and Anne Olson Berg.

She married Joe Fletcher in 1965 in Kennewick.

He died in 1977.

She worked many years with Overturf Motors in The Dalles, OR and Kennewick and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Kennewick.

Survivors include Helen Berg, a niece of Eugene and a step-son John Fletcher of Gresham, OR.

Doris was gentle and kind.

She always reminded those who loved her: 'I love you more.'

James Clarence Hagans

Born in Manzanola, Colorado on Mar. 29, 1917

Departed on Oct. 14, 2011 and resided in Richland, WA.

James Clarence Hagans, 94, of Pasco, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2011.

He was born March 29, 1917 in Manzanola, Colorado to George and Mary Hagans.

As an infant his mother died and he was raised by Jesse and Charlie Phipps whom he considered Mom and Dad.

He married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Morgan, in 1941.

They lived in a small trailer, traveling from state to state before settling in the Tri-Cities.

He served in the Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart for wounds sustained in France.

He worked at Hanford as a pipefitter for Local 598 until his retirement.

Jim enjoyed many activities and hobbies including card games - lots of card games - rock hunting, rifle matches, fishing, boating, Sage and Sand REACT Radio Club, Sundowners Square Dancing Club for years.

He volunteered for the Pasco Activity Center for years, opening and closing it; delivering leftover bread and pastries from supermarket to the center, taught welding classes at Columbia Basic Community College, and volunteering for years at the Tri-Cities Water Follies.

He enjoyed his last year at Charbonneau Senior Living Community in Kennewick with his cat, Bubbles, and participated in their various activities.

He is survived by his son Robert and wife Marcia Hagans, daughters Lynda and husband Tom Tully, and Cindy Hagans; grandchildren Robert Tully, Tricia Stevens, April Miller, Jason Hagans and Brandi Finch, and James Hagans; great-grandchildren Briana Tully, Samantha Tully, Matthew Miller, Natalie Miller, Aspen Finch, Austin Finch and Grady Hagans.

Memorial services will be on Friday, October 21, 2011, 12:00 p.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kennewick.

Violet Mills

Born in Maud, Okalahoma on Oct. 22, 1929

Departed on Oct. 15, 2011 and resided in Kennewick, WA.

Blanca Estella Tamez

Born in Salineno, Texas on Sep. 2, 1927

Departed on Oct. 18, 2011 and resided in Pasco, WA.

Blanca Estella Tamez, of Pasco, Washington, passed away on October 18, 2011 at the age of 84.

Blanca was born September 2, 1927, in Salineno, Texas to Francisco and Victoria Canales.

She married Edelmiro Tamez Sr., she was a homemaker, they made their home in Grandview, WA in the 1950's, moving to Pasco in 1967, together they raised seven children.

She is survived by her children, Jose, J. Ociel (Maria L), Homero (Maria S), Edelmiro Jr., Blanca, and Dora Tamez, Eleamar (Santos) Sanchez; 25 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Patricia Gibson.

Blanca is preceded in death by her parents, brother and husband.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 5 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home. The Mass will be Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial to follow at City View cemetery.

Joshua Montano

Born in Kennewick, Washington on Dec. 23, 1980

Departed on Oct. 17, 2011 and resided in Kennewick, WA.

Joshua Montano age 30 was taken from us suddenly in the early morning hours of Oct 17th, 2011, to be with our heavenly father.

He was a loving son, brother, father and uncle.

He enjoyed his life to the fullest, he loved cracking jokes, zombie movies, fixing cars and loving his kids.

He left a strong impact on everyone he came in contact with.

Josh is survived by his mother Lisandra Garza, his children Emmanuel, Antonio, Iinezah, Jayda, Acrysis, Azaraya and Ackylez.

He is also survived by his sisters Juliet, Jacquelin, Jessica and his brothers Jonathon, Robert Jr and Jacob. Loved and missed till we meet you again, never forgotten.

The viewing will be held at Muellers Chapel of the Falls, 314 W 1st Ave, Kennewick, WA on 10-19-11 from 3pm to 8pm and 10-20-11 from 12pm to 8pm.

The Service will be on 10-21-2011 at 11am at the Muellers Chapel of Falls with the burial at Riverview Heights cemetery, 1200 S Olympia St, Kennewick, WA at 12:30pm.
