Jeffrey Sanford

A graveside service for Aberdeen resident Jeffrey S. Sanford, who died March 26 in Aberdeen, will be held at noon, Saturday, April 16, in the Colonades Garden at Aberdeen's Fern Hill cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Coastal Animal Rescue & Adoption Center, P.O. Box 63, Aberdeen, WA 98520

Cremation arrangements were by Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen.

Ernest Pearson

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Former Harborite Ernest Pearson of Peoria, Ariz., died Monday, May 16, 2011, in Peoria. He was 93.

He was a barber from 1940 to 1982 when he retired from Ernie and Ray's Barber Shop in Aberdeen, located where Safeway is now.

A service is being planned for later in the summer.

Arrangements are by Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, Ariz.

Richard Major

OLYMPIA -- Richard E. Major, 72, a resident of Ocean Shores, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

He had worked in law enforcement and college security for 26 years at Highline Community College, retiring in 1991.

The family will have a private gathering at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Larry K. Denny

Larry Kenneth Denny, 65 years old and a resident of Hoquiam for the past eight years, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his Hoquiam home.

He was a member of the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam.

He had worked for Darigold, had been a carpenter and was a pilot car driver for heavy equipment vehicles.

The family requests donations to the Hoquiam V.F.W. Memorial Fund, 407 7th St., Hoquiam 98550

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel, 422 5th St. in Hoquiam.

Charles R. Marxen

WESTPORT -- Charles Richard Marxen died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at his home in Westport. He was 92.

He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Margaret F. Allan

Margaret F. Allan, 84, former psychology instructor at Grays Harbor College, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Monday, Dec. 13, 2010. She was 84.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fern Hill Funeral Home. Vault interment will be in Fern Hill cemetery.

A visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. until service time in the chapel at Fern Hill.

Nancy (O'Lague Blecha) Jones

PUYALLUP -- Former Harborite Nancy (O'Lague Blecha) Jones of Graham died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, in Puyallup. She was 55.

She graduated from Aberdeen's Weatherwax High School in 1975.

A celebration of her life will be held from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3616 Wishkah Road in Aberdeen with a special tribute to her at 1 p.m.

Owen Cyrus Faulkner
(October 2, 1937 - December 27, 2012)

Owen C. Faulker of Morton, passed away December 27th at Morton General Hospital. He was 75. Owen was born in Suzannville, California. He worked as a mechanic. No services were requested. Arrangements are under the direction of Cattermole Funeral Home in Winlock.

Kenneth "Cotton" Wright

OLYMPIA -- Aberdeen resident Kenneth C. "Cotton" Wright died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was 86.

He had been a barber in Hoquiam and was an avid golfer.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Aberdeen First United Methodist Church, 100 E. 2nd.

Robert E. "Gene" Welsh

ILLAHEE -- Longtime Illahee area resident and Aberdeen native Robert Eugene "Gene" Welsh died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at his home. He was 86.

He had worked as a freight truck driver for many years.

A memorial service will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Aberdeen V.F.W. Post 225.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Harbors Home Health and Hospice, 201 7th Street, Hoquiam, 98550, or to the Aberdeen V.F.W. Children's Christmas Fund, 105 East Heron Street, Aberdeen, 98520.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Michael P. Welch

OLYMPIA -- Lifelong Cosmopolis resident Michael Patrick Welch died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia. He was 63.

Arrangements are pending through Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

George Kron

MONTESANO -- Longtime Harborite George Kron died on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 92.

He had left home at 15 to pick cotton in California, then came to Hoquiam at 17. He had worked for the Blagen and Wilson mills, Anderson Middleton, Ulticans and the Acme Door Plant. He had also bicycled films from the Bijue Theater in Hoquiam to the Warner Brothers Theater in Aberdeen.

He lived in the Wynooche Valley for 32 years where he logged for a few years before becoming a dairy farmer.

Several years later he went back to logging and operated Kron Logging out of his own home for 35 years. After retirement, he owned and operated an apple orchard in Yakima before returning to the Harbor in 1985.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

A graveside service with vault interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hoquiam's Sunset Memorial Park.

Family and friends are invited to a potluck gathering at 1 p.m. following the service at the Montesano Moose Lodge.

Beverly J. (Jolly) Titus

CENTRAL, S.C. -- Former Harborite and Pacific Beach native Beverly Jean (Jolly) Titus died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Central, SC. She was 87. She graduated from Moclips High School.

Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kitsap Humane Society, 9167 Dickey Road NW, Silverdale, WA, 98383.

Cremation arrangements are by the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home of Central, S.C.

Ernest F. Treiber
(February 15, 1945 - January 15, 2013)

Ernest F. Treiber, 67, of Curtis, passed away January 15, 2013 in Centralia. Services are pending.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cattermole Funeral Home in Winlock.

Charles Lister

CENTRALIA -- Former Aberdeen resident Charles R. Lister of Chehalis died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Providence Centralia Hospital. He was 72.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Olequa Senior Center, 119 Kerron Ave. in Winlock.

Lola B. Ryan

Lola Belle Ryan of Aberdeen died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at the Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 92.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3, at the Fern Hill cemetery in Menlo.

Arrangements are by Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond.
