Kelly R. Dahlstrom

OLYMPIA -- Former Pacific Beach resident Kelly Roy Dahlstrom of Olympia died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, in Olympia. He was 70.

Arragements are by Funeral Alternatives of Washington in Lacey.

Helen M. (Sears) Farrar

ELMA -- Helen Marjorie (Sears) Farrar of Elma died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at home. She was 78.

She was a nurse at Mark Reed Hospital in McCleary until 1974 when she became the school nurse for the Elma School District, retiring in December 1997.

A celebration of her life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Elma Eagles Hall. Donations are suggested to the Satsop School Cancer Relay for Life Team, P. O. Box 96, Satsop, WA 98583.

Arrangements are by Evergreen Mortuary & Cremation Services of Grays Harbor in Aberdeen.

Leonard Simpson

Hoquiam resident Leonard Simpson died at his home on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.

He was 75.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Glenn Coogan

Former Aberdeen resident Glenn C. Coogan of Woodinville died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in Aberdeen. He was 55.

From 1981 to 1997, he worked for Ocean Spray in Markham as a manufacturing manager and currently was vice president of Northwest Operations for Ascentia Wine Estates in Woodinville.

A memorial service is being planned in Vancouver, Wash., and will be announced in a later edition of The Daily World.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Opal D. Miles Heath
April 21, 1931 - November 7, 2015

Opal D. Miles Heath 84, a Raymond resident since 1998 died Saturday, November 7th at the family home.

Mrs. Heath was born April 21 1931 at Rigby Idaho to Alfred and Vernice (Shattuck) Rosenhall.

Mrs. Heath Graduated from Renton High School in 1949. She worked nearly 20 years in the dental profession, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Raymond Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Research Club, and Willapa Chorale for 10 years. She taught piano for over 40 years, sang in, played for, and directed many church choirs. She enjoyed sewing quilts, knitting, crocheting, making clothing and lap robes for charity, and making cards.

She married Harrold Boyd Miles in Bellevue WA in August of 1949. Harrold died November of 1983. She later married Hilden Heath in Seattle August 3, 1990. Hilden survives at the family home in Raymond.

Other survivors include two sons Kenneth (Shirley) Miles of Auburn and William “Bill” (Linda) Miles of Enumclaw; step sons Ivan (Karen) Heath of Rathdrum, Idaho., and Rex (Vera) Heath of Soap Lake; two daughters Cheryl (Ray) Archibald of Oakley, Idaho, Lisa Miles of Seattle, and step daughter Laural Yeats of Buckeye, Arizona. Opal is also survived by 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by two sons Steven D. Miles in 1986 and Kelly T. Miles who died in 1994, and her sister Goldie Rosenhall who died in 1993.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Monday November 16 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church in Raymond. Burial will follow at the Fern Hill cemetery in Menlo.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ambulance fund in Raymond, at 212 Commercial St.

Charles Smith

Harborite Charles R. Smith died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, in Hoquiam. He was 73.

He retired in 1993 after working 31 years for the City of Hoquiam.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Grays Harbor Relay for Life, P.O. Box 202, Aberdeen, WA, 98520.

A celebration of life is planned and will be announced in a later edition of The Daily World.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Warwick "Max" Maxfield

CHEHALIS -- Hoquiam resident Warwick J. "Max" Maxfield died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, in Chehalis. He was 49.

He had been a delivery man for Harbor Pacific Bottling Co. and also had worked at the Grays Harbor Juvenile Detention Center.

A potluck celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at the VFW Hall in Forks.

Arrangements by Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

Don Coffman

A memorial service for former Harborite Don T.C. Coffman, who died June 15 at Chignik Lagoon, Alaska, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Liberty Baptist Church, 909 Dartmouth Ave., in Fircrest.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Humane Society for Tacoma, 2608 Center Street, Tacoma, WA 98409 or to PAWS, P.O. Box 451, Aberdeen, WA 98520.

Arrangements were by the Cremation Society of Alaska.

Michael J. McNamara

WESTPORT -- Raymond native Michael James McNamara, 50, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at his home in Westport. He was 50.

Memorial and inurnment services will be held at a later date. A full obituary will follow.

Arrangements by Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond.

Gary Wayne Buchanan

OLYMPIA -- Longtime Grays Harbor resident Gary Wayne Buchanan died July 4, 2010, in Olympia. He was 70.

He grew up in McCleary and is a graduate of Elma High School class of 1958. He also lived in Aberdeen, Federal Way and Olympia.

Arrangements are by the Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma.

Robert Ryan Sheets

ELMA -- Robert Ryan Sheets died July 15, 2010, at his home in Elma. He was 85 years old.

Mr. Sheets worked for the Simpson Timber Co. in McCleary and Shelton for 42 years and retired from the company in 1985.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. July 22 at Masonic Cemetary in Elma. The family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are by Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma.

Kenneth L. Mathews

Montesano resident Kenneth L. Mathews died Thursday, July 15, 2010, in an apparent drowning in the Wynooche River. He was 51. Arrangements are pending through Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Penny Lynn Smith

Penny Lynn Smith died Thursday, July 15, 2010, at her home in Aberdeen. She was 51.

Arrangements are pending through Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Jude Leon Miller

LAS VEGAS, NEV. -- Jude Leon Miller, the 15-month-old son of former Aberdeen residents Kenny and Trina Miller, died July 7, 2010. The family had moved to Las Vegas last September.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. July 24, at the Grays Harbor Foursquare Church, 4800 Central Park Dr.

Arrangements are by Coleman Mortuary of Hoquiam. Donations for the Jude Miller Fund may be made to offset medical costs at River of Life Fellowship, 308 W. King St., Aberdeen, 98520.

Ina Mae Irene Mai

Ina Mae Irene Mai, a resident of Ocean Shores for the last eight years, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 72.

She had worked for the State of Washington retirement system for a number of years.

Arrangements are by Evergreen Mortuary & Cremation of Aberdeen.

Warwick "Max" Maxfield

CHEHALIS -- Hoquiamite Warwick J. "Max" Maxfield died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, in Chehalis. He was 49.

Jack Elgin

Ocean Shores resident Jack E. Elgin died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Grays Harbor Health & Rehabilitation Center in Aberdeen. He was 85.

He had served in the US Navy and moved to Ocean Shores from Seattle, where he had owned his own business.

Private inurnment will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary of Hoquiam.
