Donna Lee

Donna L. Lee, 64, longtime Aberdeen resident and former care assistant at Kimberly House in Aberdeen, died Sunday morning, Oct. 9, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 64.

There will be no service. A full obituary will follow in The Daily World.

Cremation arrangements are by the Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

George Lund

Harborite George Lund died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2011, in Aberdeen. He was 80.

He spent four years in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a pharmacist in Hawaii, owned a drug store in Port Townsend and also served as a pharmacist in Long Beach, Calif., at the naval facility. He retired to Grays Harbor and was a relief pharmacist at Rite Aid in Aberdeen.

There will be no funeral. Private inurnment will be in the Hoquiam Sunset Memorial Park.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Grizzly Alumni Association, c/o the Grizzly Booster Club, P.O. Box 176, Hoquiam, WA 98550 or to PAWS, P.O. Box 451, Aberdeen, WA 98520.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Patricia Carney

Patricia J. Carney, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died at Westhaven Villa in Aberdeen on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011. She was 76.

She had been a secretary and accountant on the Harbor and had worked for the Grays Harbor County Health Department.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Fern Hill Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

A funeral is set for 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the chapel at Fern Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will take place in the Garden Mausoleum of Fern Hill cemetery. A reception will follow the services at the Cosmopolis Lions Club.

Nina Archie

Longtime Harborite Nina M. Archie died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at her home in Aberdeen. She was 89.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Ward Brumfield

MONTESANO -- Montesano resident Ward W. Brumfield died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 95.

A funeral is being planned for next week and will be announced in The Daily World.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Beverly J. (Jolly) Titus

CENTRAL, S.C. -- Former Harborite and Pacific Beach native Beverly Jean (Jolly) Titus died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Central, SC. She was 87. She graduated from Moclips High School.

Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kitsap Humane Society, 9167 Dickey Road NW, Silverdale, WA, 98383.

Cremation arrangements are by the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home of Central, S.C.

Robert E. "Gene" Welsh

ILLAHEE -- Longtime Illahee area resident and Aberdeen native Robert Eugene "Gene" Welsh died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at his home. He was 86.

He had worked as a freight truck driver for many years.

A memorial service will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Aberdeen V.F.W. Post 225.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Harbors Home Health and Hospice, 201 7th Street, Hoquiam, 98550, or to the Aberdeen V.F.W. Children's Christmas Fund, 105 East Heron Street, Aberdeen, 98520.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Michael P. Welch

OLYMPIA -- Lifelong Cosmopolis resident Michael Patrick Welch died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia. He was 63.

Arrangements are pending through Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

George Kron

MONTESANO -- Longtime Harborite George Kron died on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 92.

He had left home at 15 to pick cotton in California, then came to Hoquiam at 17. He had worked for the Blagen and Wilson mills, Anderson Middleton, Ulticans and the Acme Door Plant. He had also bicycled films from the Bijue Theater in Hoquiam to the Warner Brothers Theater in Aberdeen.

He lived in the Wynooche Valley for 32 years where he logged for a few years before becoming a dairy farmer.

Several years later he went back to logging and operated Kron Logging out of his own home for 35 years. After retirement, he owned and operated an apple orchard in Yakima before returning to the Harbor in 1985.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

A graveside service with vault interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hoquiam's Sunset Memorial Park.

Family and friends are invited to a potluck gathering at 1 p.m. following the service at the Montesano Moose Lodge.

Stella P. Folden

MONTESANO -- Longtime Harborite Stella Pauline Folden died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 94.

She attended Hoquiam schools and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1937.

A service of inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Hoquiam's Sunset Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Saron Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Stephanie A. Gould

McCLEARY -- Stephanie Ann Gould of Elma died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Mark Reed Hospital in McCleary. She was 37.

Arrangements are by Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma.

Gloria A. Leighty

A memorial service for lifelong Harborite Gloria Aileen Leighty, who died Sept. 3 in Aberdeen, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Pacific Beach Community Church. A potluck dinner and celebration of her life will follow at the North Beach Community Center and Fire Hall in Pacific Beach.

Private interment will be held at Hoquiam's Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Lucille McFarland

Aberdeen resident Lucille McFarland, wife of Rev. Robert D. McFarland, former Rector at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Aberdeen, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, in Aberdeen. She was 91.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
