Cynthia Anne Parker

Cynthia Anne Parker was born May 21, 1953 to Ralph and Connie Steiger in Chehalis, Wash. She went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in her home, surrounded by her close family on Nov. 18, 2011.

Cindy graduated from Boistfort High School in 1971 and married Dennis Parker in the spring of 1972. The two moved to Ellensburg, Wash., where she worked several secretarial jobs to help put her husband through school. After Dennis' graduation in 1975, they embarked on a traveling adventure with Dennis's Navy career. Living in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, the Philippines and many states across the U.S. Cindy made many friends and she thoroughly enjoyed the duties of a navy officer's wife. In 1996, she, Dennis and their daughters, Anna and Sarah, moved back to the Boistfort valley where she was active in women's ministries at Boistfort Community Church, a member of the Baw Faw Grange, proudly sold Longaberger Baskets for over 20 years, was a member of the Adaline Coffman Children's Hospital Guild and a real estate agent for the last seven years. She wore many hats, but her favorite by far was being a mom and a "Nana".

Cindy battled a rare and very aggressive form of breast cancer for almost five years but she never let her cancer "define" who she was as she continued to work, travel, exercise at Thorbecks and to make as many memories as she could with her friends and family. She did not "waste her cancer" and her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the source of her incredible strength and determination, had a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Connie. She is survived by her husband Dennis, two daughters, Anna (husband Luke) Moerke, Sarah (husband, Andrew) DeMulling, father, Ralph Steiger, sister, Teresa (husband, Bob) Duncan, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and her three beloved grandsons, Elias, Ezra and Jonas Moerke.

There will be a celebration of Cindy's life on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at Bethel Church in Chehalis, Wash., at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial funds may be made to: Boistfort Community Church (window fund) at 1069 Boistfort Rd., Curtis, WA 98538 or to Adaline Coffman Guild for Seattle Children's Hospital at 190 Taylor Rd., Chehalis, WA 98532.

Cindy's family would like to extend their heartfelt and deepest thanks to all of their friends and well wishers who visited, prayed for and supported Cindy through this difficult journey. Also, a very special thanks to the nursing staff who cared for her at Centralia Providence Hospital and the superb care from her hospice nurses from Assured Home Health. May God bless you all.
