Danny Ray McDonald
1955-2012

Our loving husband, dad, son brother and papa, Danny Ray McDonald passed away on June 13, 2012 with his family by his bedside.

Danny was born June 3, 1955 in Portland, Ore. In the early 70s, he joined the army and was stationed in Germany.

He had many different jobs when he was younger. For the last 25 years, he worked for Sorenson Transport. The first 15 years, driving the "big rig" to Los Angeles, Calif., once a week, the last ten years as dock supervisor.

Danny was special in so many ways. His smile would brighten up the whole room. The love Danny had for his family was amazing. If anyone in the family was in need, he was the first to help, no matter what. Making his family smile seemed to be his goal, whether it was a sarcastic remark, a nice gesture, or a simple hand grip on the shoulder, is just a start to the simplicity of his love.

And for his seven grandchildren, one word "spoiled!" and he loved it! When he wasn't occupied with his family and work, he enjoyed watching sports. Go Seahawks! Go Mariners!

Danny and his wife were inseparable. From the game shows to the going out to eat and the joys of shopping. Danny and Donna took a romantic vacation to the beaches once a year. They would do their window and collectables shopping, take walks on the beach, and boardwalks. And we can't forget the food and goodies that dad had to try. Through photographs of the vacations, we watched their love grow.

Danny was the most bravest, strong willed, positive, loving soul. When his health turned for the worse with sadness and worry in his families' eyes, he never got discouraged, he would just smile to brighten our hearts and help us to be thankful for today, and not to worry about tomorrow. He will be remembered dearly and missed deeply.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna McDonald, sons, Travis McDonald (Shannon) and John McDonald (Tricia), daughter, Stacey McDonald, daughter-in-law, Kandi McDonald, mother, Stella McDonald, sister Cathy Johnson (Tom), brothers, Mike McDonald (Elaine), Rick McDonald, his second mom (mother-in-law), Jeanette Browning, seven grandchildren, Kallie Jean, Kerra and Tanner McDonald, Shyanne McDonald and Jasper Bartlett, Raylee and Jackson McDonald. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce McDonald.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He attended college at Oregon State, started at the Boeing Company as an industrial engineer, in management for 37 years and his last 8 years were as a management consultant overseas. He was an avid traveler with his well-worn golf clubs with him at all times.
