Lynne Jacobson Sabalino
12/1962 - 10/28/96
Lynne Jacobson was born in December 1962, daughter of Pearl Jacobson of Tacoma. Lynne graduated from Lincoln High in 1981. Lynne passed away October 28, 1996 after a short illness. She is survived by her son, George Jr., who now resides in California. Lynne will be missed by friends old and new. She is buried at Oakwood Hill Cemetery in Tacoma.

Leo Lemuel Wingard "Attorney Pro Se"
Leo Lemuel Wingard, born July 17, 1906 in Tacoma, Washington, died November 28, 1996 in Tacoma. Leo is survived by his brother, Gordon and wife Jane of Tacoma; 3 sons, James L. Wingard and John L. Wingard of Tacoma, Larry E. Wingard and wife Jean of Lake Bay; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Leo was a fisherman on Puget Sound for at least twenty years. He started the first Neon Sign business in Tacoma in 1930 at 902 Tacoma Avenue and later moved it to 1702 Commerce Street. He ran the business for seventeen years until no more materials were available during World War II. He retired to the recycling business in Ruston. One of Leo's favorite pastimes was going to Court as "attorney pro se" against the town of Ruston in a long running dispute, winning more often than not, often on such obscure legal arguments as a "demurrer". Leo was a faithful Catholic. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where he attended Mass and took Sunday collection regularly at 8:30 a.m. Leo and the town of Ruston recently celebrated their 90th birthdays. Rosary will be recited at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Monday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Tuesday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Gaffney Cassedy Allen and Buckley King Funeral Home.

James H. Walters
James Harold Walters, a resident of Pierce County for 67 years, died November 28, 1996. He was 80 years old. He was born in Black Diamond on November 30, 1915. Jim graduated from Puyallup High School and took his machinist apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He married Ruth Maxine Leitzinger of Sumner in 1940. She was his life long love and companion until her death in March of 1996. Jim retired from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1972 as a Planner and Estimator supervisor. He and Maxine then moved to Sumner from Gig Harbor. In their retirement they traveled to Europe, Mexico and throughout the United States. Jim was patient and kind to others, and a good father and grandfather. Jim is survived by four sisters: Myrtle (Norm) Johnson, Sumner, WA; Evelyn Danubio, Arlington, WA; Lucille Hardtke, Olympia, WA; and Lillian (Roy) Montgomery, Scott Lake, WA. His brother Woodrow died in 1983. Jim's surviving family are sons Pete (Leilani) Walters, Gig Harbor, WA and John (Barbara) Walters, Seattle, WA; grandchildren are Ken Walters, Seattle, Brian (CeCe) Walters, Gig Harbor and Jessica Walters, Seattle. Memorial service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, December 3, 1996 at Haven of Rest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Good Samaritan Hospital or Mountain View Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Gig Harbor.

Walter M. Duncan
Walter Madison Duncan went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 27, 1996 in Tacoma. He was born Nov. 1, 1925 in Columbus, MS and was raised in Greenville, TX. He married Lorelei Carlson on Oct. 10, 1957. Walter was a building contractor in Tacoma for many years as the head of Duncan Construction Co. He entered Pacific Lutheran University at the age of 41 as a full-time student while he continued with his construction work while raising his three boys. In 1970, Walter received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. That same year, he became a faculty member at Yelm High School, where he taught Literature and Adult Woodshop until 1981. His retirement was divided between family and friends in Tacoma. He traveled the United States and built and lived in his retirement home on the Big Island of Hawaii. Walter was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church in Tacoma. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Lorelei, and his three sons Paul and wife Maureen, Philip and David, one brother Hubert, grandson Joshua and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services are Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996 at 4pm in the Mountain View Baptist Church, 3714 84th St. E. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.

Isaac Christian Domingo
Isaac Christian Domingo, 11 months, born December 8, 1995 went to be with the Lord November 26, 1996. Beloved son of Joel and Debby (Stanley) Domingo. Viewing hours 10am-9pm, Sunday, Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave. North. Funeral services Monday, 11am, Calvary Temple, 6810 8th Ave NE, Seattle.

Clarence Murphy
Clarence Robert Murphy, resident of Puyallup, passed away November 28, 1996 at the age of 83 years. He was born in Tacoma and grew up in Gig Harbor and moved to Puyallup in 1940. He retired from Western Farmers in 1975 and was a member of the Teamster's Union Local 313. He was also a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge 38 F&AM of Puyallup and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Daffodil Aerie 2308 of Puyallup. In 1975, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola J. Murphy and in 1994, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Dolly (Sienkiewicz) Murphy. Survivors include 1 daughter Kathleen Shaw of Gig Harbor; 1 son Robert (Patience) Murphy of East Eddington, ME; 2 sisters Lauretta (Russell) White of Gig Harbor and Alice (Pat) Doyle of Gig Harbor; 2 brothers John (Patsy) Murphy of Tacoma and Charles (Alberta) Murphy of Gig Harbor; 3 grandchildren Kyle (Angie) Murphy of SeaTac, Jill Murphy of Parkland and Trina Shaw of Gig Harbor; 4 great-grandchildren Joseph Murphy, Clyde Murphy, Byrnee Murphy and Samantha Murphy all of East Eddington, ME. Memorial services will be held Monday, December 2, at 4:30pm at Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Puyallup. If desired, remembrances may be made to the Children's Home Society of WA, 201 South 34th St., Tacoma, WA 98408.

Dean Westby Thorson
Dean W. Thorson, 66, died November 28, 1996 in Olympia. He is survived by: wife Wilma Thorson of the Home; sons, Major Dean W. Thorson of Travis A.F.B., CA, Neil A. Thorson of Medford,OR; daughters Barbara Thorson of Eugene, OR, Jeris Deyman of Olympia; brother William Ward Thorson of Las Vegas, NV; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Gerald, Phillip and Robert. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 3, 1996, 1pm at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements by Dryer Mortuary.

George Borgen
George Borgen, a resident of Gig Harbor, for thirty years, died November 28th at his home. He was born in Baker, Oregon on January 26, 1926. Mr. Borgen, who had owned Borgen Building Supply until closing the business last year, was active in business and community organizations. He had served as a Director of Western Retail Lumbermen's Association and was a forty-seven year member of the Lions. At the time of his death he was a Director of Peninsula Light Co. He served on numerous advisory and long-range planning committees for Peninsula School District and was active in land-use planning groups, both locally and regionally. He had been a member of both the Gig Harbor Town Council and Planning Commission. He was a member of Agnus Dei Lutheran Church. Mr. Borgen is survived by three brothers and a sister in Oregon. He also leaves behind one grandchild Baker; four sons: Bill, John, Jim and Bruce; his daughter Mary and his wife Patricia. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Nicholas Church in Gig Harbor at 2pm, Thursday, Dec. 5. Any remembrances may be made to the Lion's Eye Bank at the University of Washington.

Krista Langley
Krista Langley, 57, died November 28, 1996. Beloved wife of William Langley of Graham. Devoted mother of Ricky (Beckey S.) Langley of Graham, Christina (Steve) Olson of Graham, Michael (Diane) Langley of Orting, and Bill (Tracy) Langley of Graham. Loving daughter of Elizabeth Stadler. Sister of Carl, Heinz, Hanz, Otto, Herman, Willy, Peter Stadler, Gaby and Waltrud all of Germany. Cherished by grandchildren Susan, Magnum, Garrett, Dustin Langley, Brooke, Kaylee Olson, Roseanne, Breann and Cody Langley. Reposing at POWERS FUNERAL HOME, 224 S. Washington, Orting, Monday 12noon-8pm. Funeral Tuesday, 1pm at Orting Assembly of God Church. Interment Orting Cemetery.

Kristen Y. Pettibone
Kristen Y. Pettibone, 20 of Tacoma, passed away November 29, 1996. She was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1995. She has been attending WWU since graduating from high school.She will be dearly missed by all. We love you, Your family. Survivors: parents, Matthew and Vickie Pettibone; brother Brandon and Julie Pettibone; grandmothers, Betty Baldwin and Nancy Pettibone; dear friends: John, Becki, Andrea and John Miller; uncle Michael, aunts: Jeanne-Rae, Diana, Tina, and many other aunts and uncles. Also many fellow students and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 1996, 2pm. Fir Lane Memorial Chapel. Interment Fir Lane Memorial Park.

Margaret A. Hoffmann
Margaret A. Hoffmann, born April 2, 1912 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to William J. and Hilda Bliven, died November 27, 1996 in Puyallup. Mrs. Hoffmann a Catholic was a Puyallup resident since 1965. Wife of the late Charles Hoffmann. Mother of Gordon Hoffmann of Puyallup and the late Diane Hoffmann. Sister Marjie (Onale) Brazeau of Roy. Also survived by 3 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Margaret Ann (Carroll) Reeve
Mrs. Margaret Ann (Carroll) Reeve passed away Nov. 29, 1996. She resided in Tacoma for 27 years. She is survived by husband William Reeve; sons Tom of Tacoma, Dennis of Everett and Jerry of Portland; daughter Diane Yackley, Milwaukee, OR. Preceded in death by William (Bill) Reeve. Services will be held in Milwaukee, OR at Peake Funeral Home, Dec. 2, 1996 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Myrtle Meyer
Myrtle Meyer was born October 23, 1916, in Chase, B.C. and went to be with the Lord, November 28, 1996 in Tacoma. She was a very compassionate, giving and loving woman in all aspects of her life including her work as an LPN. She was a member of Bethany Open Bible Church. Myrtle was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow D. Andrus. She is survived by her husband Carl B. Meyer; daughters, Jeannette (Billy) Reynolds and Carol (Paul) Kearney; sons Harold (Jewell) Meyer, Ken (Marilee) Andrus, Gerald (Gail) Meyer, James Meyer and Duane (Joyce) Meyer; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 14 foster great-grandchildren; brother, David Mansfield of Olympia; sisters Cathern Fenno of El Paso, TX, Ethel Frissell and Hazel Edmonson both of Cashmere; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be Friday, November 29, 1996, 2pm-9pm, Saturday - Monday, 8am-9pm. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 3, 1996, 1pm at Bethany Open Bible Church, 8415 Waller Rd E., Tacoma.
