Mr. David Earl Shepherd "He Was One Of Us"
Mr. David Earl Shepherd was born July 2, 1966, in Lawton, OK. He went home to be with His Heavenly Father, January 10, 1998. David came to Washington in December 1969, where he attended Tacoma and University Place public schools. He moved his residency to Daly City, CA, where he resided until his untimely death. Left here to cherish his loving and unforgettable memories are his five children: Ashley Shepherd, Shancy Hardiman, David Earl Shepherd, Marquese and Davinna Hardiman. His loving mother, Cheryl Staten; father William (Betty) Shepherd. Two sisters, Beronda (Sherman) Rollins, Carolyn Shepherd of Tacoma and Lael Henry of Seattle. Grandparents Geraldine Taylor; Raymond and Elizabeth Shepherd of Lawton, OK. His longtime and trusted friend and companion, Ms. Tyronda Hardiman. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends from Tacoma, Oklahoma and California. David will be surely missed, but never ever forgotten. Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. John Baptist Church, 2001 South "J" Street, Tacoma, WA 98405. Dr. J.A. Boles, Sr., officiating. ABLE T.M.A. Mortuary and Funeral Directors in charge.

Nao Thi Nguyen
Nao Thi Nguyen, age 70, died January 14, 1998 in Tacoma. She is survived by her sons, Ho Phi Le and Hung Phi Le; daughters, Khanh Thi Phi Le, Diep Phi Le, Nga Phi Le, Yen Phi Le and Nam Phuong Hoai Le; a special man in her life, Le Hoai Nam. She is the angel of our hearts and souls. Visitation Friday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm; chapel service Saturday, January 17, 3:00 pm at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 206- 242-1787.

Paul Frederick Chadwick
Paul Chadwick was born October 3, 1922 in Granville, Ohio, and passed away January 13, 1998 in Tacoma, WA. He was a retired tilesetter and a member of the Brick Layers Local #2, a member of the Elks Lodge #174 BPOE. Paul was an avid reader and enjoyed golf. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mildred Chadwick; daughters, Toni A. Silva and her husband, Norman, and Laura J. Fagerness and her husband, Steve; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, Matthew and Samuel. Viewing will be Friday, 11am-9pm at Mt. View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998 in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. Memorial Donations may be made in his name to the Tall Elks, in care of the Elks Lodge #174 BPOE Tacoma, WA. Thelma, 89, was born May 30, 1908 in San Francisco, CA, and passed away January 15, 1998 inSeaTac, WA. Survivors are sons William J. Flucas, James F. Peterson (Alice); brother William Franklin McGilton II (Pat); nieces Gwen Rhodes (Van), Lana Mitsules, Cheryl Fitzgerald, Lois Svobda; nephew Richard Mory (Onie); grandchildren Angela M. Harding, Don M. and Rick W. Flucas; great-grandchildren Justin and Christina Harding. Viewing is 11 AM to 9 PM Friday, Jan. 16, 1998. No services will beheld. Agnes B. Reister
Agnes B. Reister, 71, of Tacoma, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 1998. She was born on August 31, 1926, in Medina, North Dakota. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin. Survivors include Emilia Oster (Mother); 3 brothers, James, Ray and Archie; and 3 sisters, Inez, Shirley and Marlene, all of Jamestown, North Dakota. Other survivors include 3 sons, Robert, Gene and Daryl; 2 daughters, Elaine and Charlotte; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Agnes was an avid bowler who enjoyed bowling in a senior league where she made many friends. Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, 11:00 AM in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 15 from 1:00 to 9:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 to 10:00 AM, at the funeral home. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.

Bernice Adeline Geringer
Bernice Adeline Olson Geringer, born Mar. 25, 1917 in Fowler, MT, died Jan. 13, 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Ole Olson, and her husband, Alton; also her sister, Lillian Rustom. She is survived by her children, Jo Anne and Robert; grandsons, Siegfried and Leif; and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her sisters, Beverly Bender, Ruth Olson, and brother Leo Kenneth. A devout Christian and mother, she will be missed by all graced with her friendship. We would like to thank Hospice, Heritage Nursing Home and all of the numerous health care workers who performed admirably while she was infirm. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, 12 Noon in the Mt. View Valley Chapel. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home 584-0252.

Blanche V. Bathe, 79, born to Art Huff and Jesse Walters in Portland, OR, February 28, 1918, passed away January 12, 1998, in Montesano, WA. Blanche moved to Tacoma as a child and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935. She worked at Boeing during the WWII war effort. Blanche was a Christian lady who worshiped at the Auburn Assembly of God and South Christian Church in Grayland, WA. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Eldon D. Bathe, sister Nanna G. Seybold, and brother Benjamin A. Huff. Viewing 1pm to 9pm Friday at Mt. View Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:00 pm Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Mt. View Garden Chapel. Elizabeth was born April 25, 1917, in Tacoma, and passed away January 13, 1998. She had retired from Tacoma City Light and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, in 1988. Survivors include her sons, James J. and wife Diana, and Richard L. and wife Rebekah; grandsons Greg and Aaron; 1 great grandchild; and 2 brothers, George Marincin of Tacoma, and Clarence Marincin of Colorado; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, Mt. View Valley Chapel; with visitation on Friday from 1 pm to 9 pm in the main building. Eva V. Ferris, 99, died January 13, 1998. She was born in Gross, Nebraska, and had been a 56 year Tacoma resident. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen. Survivors include a son, Warren K. Ferris, Florida, 1 granddaughter, and special friend Naoma Barton, Kent. Frank M. Gayda
Frank M. Gayda, 74, was born December 15, 1923 in Aberdeen, and passed away January 11, 1998 at home with his daughter in Orting. He was a resident of Ocean Shores for 14 years and was a recent Orting resident. Together with his wife, they owned and operated Gayda's Resort on Lake Tanwax for many years. Frank was a school teacher for Sumner Junior High and retired after many years. After his retirement, they sold Gayda's Resort and moved to Ocean Shores and also purchased a home in Palm Springs. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family. Frank was an Air Force Veteran of WWII, member of the V.F.W., the Ocean Shores Elks Lodge and the Aberdeen Eagles Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, and by son Randy. He is survived by his son, Michael Gayda, of Mount Rainier; daughter Kristin Bennest (Ben) of Orting; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; brother Ed Gayda of Spokane; and sister Sophie Wolny of Port Angeles. Dad, you will be greatly missed by your family and friends. Memorial services Sat., Jan. 24, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ocean Shores Elks Lodge #2581. Services conclude at the Lodge. Inurnment will be in the Orting Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Ocean Shores Elks Lodge. Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home of Orting.

Gloria A. Golden, 70, passed away suddenly Jan. 9, 1998. Gloria was born in Tacoma and lived here all of her life. She was a retired real estate agent. Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Donald J. Golden; daughter Cynthia Kristin Woodward and husband Ken; stepson Dean Golden; brothers Harry I. and Sverre (Marlow) Swanson; grandchildren, Jason G. Wanner and wife Lisa, Ryan J. Wanner and wife Denielle; great grandchildren, Joel and Madyson Wanner. Gloria (GG) touched all our hearts at different times of her life. She has left footprints with all the people she reached through her kindness and generosity. MOM, I love you with all my heart and soul. You left me beautiful memories; you will always be by my side.
