Louise R. Crocker
Louise R. Crocker, 76, a Tacoma resident, died January 11, 1998. She was born June 7, 1921 in Seattle. Louise was a life master of the American Contract Bridge League and a graduate of Ballard H.S. Family members include her husband of 56 years, Jack; daughters, Candy Nigretto of Puyallup, Cheri Crocker of Tacoma; grandson Brandon Peters, who shared his grandmother's day of birth; sister Margaret Fredriksen and nephew Eldon Fredriksen, both of Seattle. Memorial Reception to be held on Saturday, January 17, 2:00 p.m. at 5904 No. 45th St., Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, Puget Sound Chapter, 18115 116th Ave. S.E., Renton, WA 98058.

Randy Johnson
Randy Johnson, 16, passed away Jan. 11, 1998. He was born Sept. 18, 1981 in Bremerton and had resided in Puyallup for 11 years. He attended the Puyallup Schools at Hunt and Ballou, and was a student at Challenger High School. He enjoyed family oriented activities, the outdoors, and all sports. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Michelle and Michael Austin-O'Leary, of Puyallup; father Michael Johnson of Belfair; brothers, Michael and Shelby, of the home; grandparents, Mike and Judy Gibbons of Packwood, Dave and Sherry Johnson of South Shore Belfair, Don and Dolores O'Leary of Puyallup, and Danny and Helen Austin of Graham; great grandmother Charlotte Gibbons of Puyallup; many aunts, uncles and cousins; long-time girlfriend Kelie Gibson and their daughter, Kiley; and special friends, Debbie Gibson, Joe Lewis and David Mowrey. Viewing Thursday, 12:00 noon to 6 p.m. Funeral services Friday, Jan. 16, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup, Interment in Fir Lane Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Youth at Risk of Puyallup.

Rev. Edwin N. Kendrick, Jr.
Rev. Edwin Nathaniel Kendrick, Jr., MSG U.S. Army Ret., 49, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully January 9, 1998. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Kendrick, and daughter Alane' Natalie of Tacoma, WA; son Edwin N. Kendrick III of Augusta, GA; stepson Tracy Brewton of Texas; sister Daisy K. Morris (Willie) of Ocala, FL; 2 brothers, Minister Andrew L. Kendrick (Annette) of Columbia, SC, Allen Kendrick of Ocala, FL; 2 nephews and 7 nieces; and a host of other family and friends. He will be remembered for his unconditional love and devotion to his family and friends he left behind. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, 1:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4818 Portland Ave., Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the United Way Kidney Foundation of Pierce County.

Robert C. Bankhead
A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, January 17, 1998 in Tacoma at the University of Puget Sound, Kilworth Chapel, North 18th & Puget Sound, for Robert C. Bankhead, who died Dec. 5, 1997 at age 58. Private interment took place Dec. 10, 1997 at Washington Memorial Park. Mr. Bankhead was born Jan. 11, 1940 in Tacoma. He graduated from Stadium High School and the University of Puget Sound. He taught in the Federal Way School Dist., and later opened a wedding photography business in Tacoma. He is survived by a brother, Alan, of Tacoma; niece Amy of Tacoma; his father, Cecil, of Lacey; and his special friend, Lynne Lofgren. The family suggests remembrances to the University of Puget Sound Library Fund.

Verna M. (Dollie) Morgan Dollie
Verna M. (Dollie) Morgan Dollie was born in Puyallup on May 1, 1909, and passed away in Renton on Jan. 11, 1998. She lived in Tacoma for 46 years and moved to Renton 18 years ago to be near family. She is survived by her sons, John Volkirch of Cle Elum, Don Roberts of Graham, Larry Roberts of Renton; daughters, Barbara Baarstad of Bothell, Claudette Clemons of Renton, and Beverly Bowden of Soap Lake; 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Sibley, Shirley Nelson and Bonnie Durdle; and brother Tom Roberts. Viewing Wed. 2-5 p.m. and Thurs. 9-10 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup. Graveside services Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodbine Cemetery.

Born June 24, 1981 in Frankfurt, Germany. He departed this life on Jan. 11, 1998. He was preceded in death by his grandfather. Survived by parents Willie and Carol Gilmore; brother, Michael Powers; sister, Terra Gilmore; numerous relatives and friends. Viewing will be Thurs. 1-6 p.m. at Able T.M.A. Mortuary, 1016 So. Yvonne M. Trowbridge, 53, died January 10, 1998 in Tacoma. Yvonne was a devoted collector, with collections of cookie jars, figurines, stuffed animals and watches. Yvonne is survived by her husband Walter, Tacoma; mother Evelyn Shepard, Tacoma; sister Evelyn Burle Hammond, Tacoma, numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 16, 1998 2:00 pm Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Gaffney Cassedy Allen and Buckley King Funeral Home.

Aldabel L. Johnson
Aldabel L. Johnson, 99, a 24 year resident of Puyallup, died of natural causes Sunday, January 4, 1998, at her home. She was born January 19, 1898 in Elizabeth, Minnesota, to Thomas and Sophie Zimmerman. She attended school in Minnesota. She married William H. Johnson in Minnesota on January 22, 1918. The Johnsons moved to Electron, WA, in 1946, where they owned and operated a country store and gas station. Following William's sudden death in May, 1954, Aldabel moved to Orting, WA, where she worked as financial secretary for the Methodist church, as a switchboard operator for the Orting Telephone Company, and as bookkeeper for the Mazza Cheese Company. She retired in 1972 at the age of 74. In 1974 she moved to Puyallup, WA. She spent the last year and a half of her life at Hester Zapien's Adult Family Home in Sumner, WA, where she died 15 days short of her 100th birthday. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Narcissus Chapter #175 Order of Eastern Star, and the Mountain View Court No. 63 Order of Amaranth. She became Grand Worthy Matron of the State of Washington Order of Amaranth. She is survived by 3 daughters, Marion Strassburg-Stromer, Orting, WA, Lois Stuart, White Bear Lake, MN, and Kathryn Sessions (Floyd), Lake Village, AR; 1 son, William Jr. (Beverly), Placentia, CA; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. A memorial will be held on Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church, Orting; Rev. Beryl Ingram will officiate. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the United Methodist Church, Orting. Arrangements by Hill Funeral Home, Puyallup.

Edward James Claxton, Sr.
Edward James Claxton, Sr., of Spanaway, WA, passed away peacefully on January 10, 1998. Ed was born on November 5, 1920 in Oakland, CA, and later moved with his family to Roslyn, WA. He was awarded the Presidential Citation while living in Reno for saving two young lives. Edward served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Following the war he moved to Tacoma, WA, where he retired from longshoring after 35 years at the Port of Tacoma. His two great passions were playing golf and painting, and he received numerous awards in both. He was an officer in the Tea and Turf Golf Club of Tacoma, and President of his art club. He is survived by a loving family and will always be remembered for the tenderness of his heart and will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998 at Allen A.M.E. Church, 1223 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma. Services by Able T.M.A. Mortuary.

Frances D. Siebol, 78, of Bremerton, went to be with the Lord with loved ones at her bedside Jan. 8, 1998. She was born Jan. 26, 1919 in Mabton, WA. She was an avid member of the United Methodist Church, and had been a member of the Eagles and Moose Club. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by a sister, Lois Johnston; a brother, Ernest Tromel; 5 grandsons, John, Allen, Andrew, Charles and Wayne Anderson; 4 great grandchildren. At her request there will be no service.

Gleason, 64, was born on June 19, 1933 in Rosehill, VA, and passed away on January 10, 1998 in Tacoma, WA. He served in the Armed Forces for 21 years, 3 in the Army and 18 in the Navy. He attended the Lincoln Park Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and 3 brothers. Survivors are wife Lola; daughter Sheila Talley; sons, Robert and Tom Eads; daughter Doris Eads; sisters, Laura Riggs and Iva Miller; brothers, Nelson Eads and Acey Eads; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Viewing is from 11 AM to 9 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998. Memorial services are 7:00 PM Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998 at the Lincoln Park Christian Church, 3832 South G St., Tacoma. Gordon B. Tennyson
Gordon B. Tennyson died 1-11-98. He was born 10-1-1910 in Minot, ND. His folks moved to Crosby, ND, where his dad was a miller. There, Dulce J. Anderson and Gordon were married May 2, 1936. The marriage was blessed with 61 years of happiness. Gordon and Dulce moved to Rockford, IL in 1941, where Gordon was inducted into the Army and served 3 years. From there he was moved to Fort Lewis and after the war remained in Tacoma, WA, where Dulce worked for Pacific NW Bell for 25 years. It is now U.S. West. Gordon worked for Jennings Hardware, the oldest hardware store in Tacoma, then for Tucker Hardware. Gordon and Dulce have a daughter, Susan; a grandson, Christopher Dunayski; granddaughters, Stephanie and Lyndsey Grassi; and great great grandchildren, Christopher and Brendan. Gordon and Dulce attended Peoples Church, which is now Covenant Celebration Church. We have been faithful members over the years and celebrate The Victory of Eternal Life. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998 at 3:00 PM at Covenant Celebration Church, Tacoma. Interment will be at Mt. View Memorial Park. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home, 584-0252.
