Dorotha Fowler, 89, of Toppenish died Sunday at Sunbridge Care Center.

Mrs. Dorotha Fowler was born in Paducah, Ky.

Survivors include two daughters, Joanna Powers and Jane Berghoff, both of Toppenish; a sister, Edna Jacobs Rinehold of Spokane; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Viewing is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Toppenish, with a concluding service and burial to follow in Zillah Cemetery.

Leo Joseph Cloutier

Leo Joseph Cloutier, 82, of Toppenish died Sunday at home.

Mr. Cloutier was born in Thief River Falls, Minn. He served in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Cloutier of Toppenish; two sons, Roger Cloutier of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Steven Cloutier of Toppenish; a daughter, Jan Harvard of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with a concluding service and burial following at the Zillah Cemetery.

Carl L. Loy
Announcement dated April 8, 2003
Carl L. Loy, 86, of Yakima died Sunday at home.

Mr. Loy was born in Chehalis, Wash. He was a supervisor of research for the State Tax Commission in Olympia before serving in the Army during World War II. Mr. Loy moved to Yakima in 1951, where he had a private law practice. He later served on the Yakima County Superior Court and after retirement served as a judge pro tem on the court of Appeals Division III.

Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Crampton of Bend, Ore.; a son, Terrence L. Loy of Yakima; and a granddaughter and two step-grandsons.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with internment to follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Emanuel Burns

Emanuel Burns, 54, died Friday at Providence Yakima Medical Center.

Mr. Burns was born in Sumter, S.C. He worked for the Noel Corporation for 27 years before retiring in March. He was also the pastor of Grace Temple Ministries Church of God in Christ, United.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Justin Emanuel Burns of Lorton, Va.; a daughter, April Denise Burns of Norfolk, Va.; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Viewing will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday. A tribute service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Faith Baptist Church, with farewell services to immediately follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Rosalie 'Rosie' Anne Corbus

Rosalie "Rosie" Anne Corbus, 52, died Thursday at Garden Village in Yakima.

Ms. Corbus was born in St. Louis, Miss., and later moved to Yakima.

Survivors include her sister, Susan Corbus of Maltby; and two brothers, Richard Corbus of Kent, Wash., and Bill Corbus of Lahnou, Germany.

A memorial service will be this summer at Honeyman State Park in Florence, Ore.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Roy E. Davis

Roy E. Davis, 81, of Grandview died Monday at Sunnyside Community Hospital.

Mr. Davis was born and raised in Yakima and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He later owned and operated Precision Dry Cleaners in Grandview for 22 years, and then worked as a petroleum manager for Bleyhl's until his retirement in 1988.

Survivors include his two sons, Lairen Davis of Grandview and Lance Davis of Bothell, Wash.; and one grandson.

Viewing and visitation will be from 8-10 a.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. A service will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Myrtle Job

Myrtle Job, 101, of Grandview died Saturday at the Prosser Nursing Home.

Mrs. Job was born in Duluth, Minn. She moved to Grandview in 1916.

Survivors include her seven daughters, Louise Leslie, Virginia Leslie of Sumner, Wash., Marie Eden of Pico Rivera, Calif., Marybelle Absten of Tacoma, Joan Ramey of Puyallup, Wash., Ruth Harris of Grandview and Margie Peters of Prosser; a brother, Norman Kallam of Idaho; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview.

Kenneth B. Smith

Kenneth B. Smith, 69, of Yakima died Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Seattle.

Mr. Smith was a dispatcher for the San Bernadino City Fire Department for 161/2 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a fireman apprentice.

Survivors include his wife, Alta of Yakima; a stepson, Christopher Olson of Boise, Idaho; and a sister in California.

Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Terrace Heights Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home.

Susanna Cabrera
Announcement dated June 3, 2003
Susanna Cabrera, 95, of Grandview died Saturday at Sunnyside Community Hospital.

Mrs. Cabrera was born in Mexico and spent most her life there. She came to the Yakima Valley in 1995.

Survivors include four sons, Francisco, Manuel, Juan and Antonio Prieto; two daughters, Romana and Maria; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sunnyside chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sunnyside at 1 p.m. Friday, with burial at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside.

Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside, is in charge of services.

Steven J. Lochow

Steven J. Lochow, 44, a former Easton resident, died Saturday at Kittitas Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Lochow was born in Renton, Wash., and raised in the Lake Sawyer area near Kent. He worked for the King County Water Department before moving to Easton in 1987 to help the family with the operation of the Lake Easton Resort.

Survivors include his wife, Sherrie of Easton; his mother, Bert Lochow of Ellensburg; his father, Jack Lochow of Easton; and his brother, Scott Lochow of Cle Elum.

A private service in scheduled. Cremation arrangements by Affordable Funeral Care.

Eva L. Bennett
Announcement dated June 3, 2003
Eva L. Bennett, 77, of Ellensburg died Thursday at Kittitas Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Bennett was born in Newkirk, Okla., and in 1929 moved to Wapato where she was raised and attended school. She was an Avon representative for a time and also served as a delivery person for the Ellensburg Daily Record.

Services will be on Thursday, beginning with a graveside service at 10 a.m. with inurnment at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, with a reception for family and friends following.

Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care.

Leona I. Hansberry

Leona I. Hansberry, 86, of Ellensburg died Saturday at Kittitas Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Hansberry was born and raised in Wisconsin. She came to the Kittitas Valley in 1943.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald L. Hansberry of Spokane and Don Hansberry of Ellensburg; a daughter, Patricia Palmer of North Bend; a brother, LeRoy Thompson of Eau Claire, Wis.; a sister, Doris Mattek of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday at Affordable Funeral Care. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church. Concluding services and burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care.

Joyce Ann Perry

Joyce Ann Perry, 58, died Wednesday at her rural Ellensburg home.

Mrs. Perry was born in Sullivan County, Tenn. She came to the Kittitas Valley in 1980 and was involved in family business operations, including a Texaco service station and a U-Haul Co.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Perry of Ellensburg; a son, Steven Alvis of Kingsport, Tenn.; two grandchildren; her father, Cecil C. Winegar of Church Hill, Tenn.; and a sister, Helen Kernoul of Ventura, Calif.

Inurnment will be in the family plot at Thorp Cemetery, with a family service planned for a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care.

Barbara Jean Barnes

Barbara Jean Barnes, 75, of Yakima died Thursday at Selah Convalescent.

Mrs. Barnes was born in Wapato and worked for Wagoner's and Sunfair Chevrolet.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Barnes of Yakima; two sons, Stefano Barnes and Jeff Barnes, both of Yakima; five grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Ringer and Duane Ringer, both of Yakima; and a sister, Ruth of Yuma, Ariz.

A memorial service is pending. Valley Hills Funeral Home Terrace Heights Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Morris H. Meabon

Morris H. Meabon, 79, of Ellensburg died Friday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Meabon was born in Grandview. He was employed by the City of Ellensburg as a member of the police force and worked for KCDA as a milk route driver. Mr. Meabon also worked for Schaake Packing and was a member of the Meatcutter's Union before working for Pautzke Bait.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Meabon of Ellensburg; three sons, Jim Meabon of Arizona; Nick Meabon of Edmonds, Wash., and Lonnie Meabon of Colorado; two daughters, Nancy Carlson and Sherry Meabon, both of Ellensburg; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Marjorie Tracy of Seattle, Beatrice Harrison of Selah, Donna Davis of Benton City, Wash., and Ruth Turner of Longview, Wash.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at The IOOF Cemetery on Brick Road.

Affordable Funeral Care is in charge of arrangements.

Frances Beatrice Macomber

Frances Beatrice Macomber, 50, of Yakima died Wednesday at Providence Seattle Medical Center.

Ms. Macomber was born in Toppenish. Her nursing career began at Memorial Hospital but she soon moved on to Providence Yakima Medical Center, where she worked in ICU until shortly before her death.

Survivors include two brothers, Stephen Macomber of Renton, Wash., and Jeffery Macomber of Yelm, Wash.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors. A tribute service is at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Shaw & Sons Memorial Chapel, with a concluding service to follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Margaret J. Sybouts

Margaret J. Sybouts, 81, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Sybouts was born in Linton, N.D. She worked 30 years for Del Monte Cannery before retiring in 1988.

Survivors include a son, Richard Sybouts of Yakima; a daughter, Theresa Rauscher of Yakima; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Pete Junt of Yakima.

Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, and a vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Cathedral. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

James McGahey

James McGahey, 94, of Yakima died Friday at home.

Mr. McGahey was born in Putnam, Okla. He was ordained as a minister in 1937 and served in many churches in Washington, including the Wapato Assembly of God, the Ellensburg Assembly of God, the First Assembly of Puyallup as district presbyter and Yakima Valley churches.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret McGahey of Yakima; a son, Don James McGahey of Pocatello, Idaho; four daughters, Rachel Keef of Yakima, Roberta Jean Priest of Everett, Wash., Billye Mae Clark of Fircrest, Wash., and Jean Dolores Pursell of Ellensburg; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and the funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Lillie Dumler

Lillie Dumler, 92, of Outlook died Friday.

Ms. Dumler and her husband moved to Washington from Colorado in 1945 and farmed in Toppenish for two years before purchasing three farms in Outlook. She spent many summers at Twin Lakes fishing and spending time with friends. She was a member of the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Glennis Porter of Parker, Colo., and Mil DeVoe of Selah; three sisters, Esther Frank of Sunnyside, Rachel Ehrilch of Stockton, Calif., and Fredia Pfief of Denver; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A tribute service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church with concluding services at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors is handling arrangements.

Ellen Garner

Ellen Garner, 92, of Yakima died Wednesday.

Mrs. Garner was born in Yakima. She loved dancing and traveling and was an avid rock hound who enjoyed digging excursions, carving soapstone and making jewelry. She belonged to the Yakima Rock and Mineral Club and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three nephews and their families.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Home.

Margaret Medley

Margaret Marie Medley, 85, of Yakima died Monday in Landmark Care Center.

Mrs. Medley was born in York, S.C., and lived in the Yakima Valley for the past eight years.

Survivors include her daughter, Rita Medley-Kissel of Yakima; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
