Cheryl L. Flaget, 56, of Ellensburg died Wednesday at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital.

Ms. Flaget was born in Whitefish, Mont., and was raised and educated in Ellensburg. She worked at Twin City Foods.

Survivors include her father, Olaf Flaget of Ellensburg; a daughter, Chantell Davis of South Bend, Wash.; six brothers and sisters, Gina, Allen, Melvina, Larry, David and Chris; and three grandchildren.

Memorial celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Club, 1101 Craig Ave., Ellensburg, with a potluck reception following.

Affordable Funeral Care, Ellensburg, is in charge of arrangements.

David Lawrence Underwood
Announcement dated April 03, 2005
David Lawrence Underwood, 67, of Sunnyside died Saturday.

Mr. Underwood served in the Army and worked as an independent insurance agent in the Yakima Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Underwood; a son, Jeff Underwood of Nampa, Idaho; a daughter, Kim Frank of Sunnyside; three brothers, Richard Underwood of Selah, Phil Underwood of Hermiston, Ore., and Wes Underwood of Grandview; and four grandchildren.

Services are pending. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carl E. Horn
Announcement dated April 03, 2005
Carl E. Horn, 42, of Yakima died March 28.

Mr. Horn was born in Yakima and was disabled in an auto accident several years ago.

Survivors include two sisters, Juanita Mattila of Hillsboro, Ore., and Doris Schneider of Yakima; three brothers, Harris Horn of West Linn, Ore., Kenneth Horn of Vancouver, Wash., and Vernon Horn of Sunnyside; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Francis A. Clark
Announcement dated April 03, 2005
Francis A. Clark, 81, of Yakima died Friday.

Mr. Clark was born in Cass Lake, Minn., and was a clerk at the Yakima Hotel.

Survivors include a sister, Lemira J. Mathis of Yakima, and a nephew, Ken Mathis of Yakima.

Memorial services are pending. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

June Marie Smith

June Marie Smith, 69, of Yakima died March 27.

Mrs. Smith was born in Chicago and moved to Yakima in 1976, where she founded a cancer support group, Make Today Count, in 1984 after being diagnosed with cancer.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Smith of Yakima, Ron-ald Dillow and Eric Smith, both of California; a sister, Dorothy Erlandson of Leesberg, Fla.; and a brother, James Culver of Michigan.

An 11 a.m. memorial will be Friday at the Terrace Heights Community Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment will be at West Hills Memorial Park. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Beulah V. Miller
Announcement dated May 27, 2005
Beulah V. Miller, 90, of Bonney Lake, Wash., died Tuesday in Tacoma.

Mrs. Miller was born in Cordova, Neb., lived in Yakima from 1941 to 1955 and in Burien, Wash., from 1980 to 2003.

Private family services will be held in the Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.

Klontz Funeral Home, Auburn, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Dale Rawnsley

Harold Dale Rawnsley, 84, a former Yakima resident, died Tuesday at the Adult Family Home in Kirkland, Wash.

Mr. Rawnsley was born in Stanford, Maine.

Survivors include a son, Jack Rawnsley of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Karen Schott of Frasier Park, Calif.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel, with burial at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Stephen Michael Smith III

Stephen Michael Smith III, 41, of Prosser died Wednesday at home.

Mr. Smith was born in Yakima and raised in Prosser. He lived in Seattle for 15 years, working as an artist, and returned to Prosser in 2000, where he helped on the family ranch.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Lillian Smith of Prosser; two sisters, Katie Parkinson of Richland and Jenny Knight of Yakima; and a brother, Tony Smith of Kennewick.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Prosser Funeral Home. Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Prosser Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser. Concluding service and burial following service at Prosser Cemetery.

Margaret Evelyn Fischer

Margaret Evelyn Fischer, 90, of Yakima died Wednesday.

Mrs. Fischer was born in Reardan, Wash. She worked packing apples and as a seamstress for Sunset Sports Wear in Moxee.

Survivors include a son, Ron Marshall of Yakima; a daughter, Evelyn Lydin of Selah; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, Yakima. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stone Church Assembly of God, Yakima. Interment will follow at Tahoma Cemetery.

Michael L. Verhey

Michael L. Verhey, 51, of Moxee died Wednesday in Tieton.

Mr. Verhey was born in Tacoma and lived in Pullman and Yakima. He was a partner with Harris Farms.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Verhey of Moxee; a son, Ben Verhey of Seattle, a daughter, Rachel Verhey of Moxee; his parents, Robert and Jacqueline Verhey of Moxee; three sisters, Sue Kropelnicki of Redmond, Wash., Julie McNeal of Spokane and Carolyn Leeper of Albany, Ore.; and a brother, David Verhey of Moxee.

Vigil will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Moxee. Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery.

Shirley "Shirl" Moon
Announcement dated May 27, 2005
Shirley "Shirl" Moon, 84, of Prosser died Wednesday at home.

Mr. Moon was born and raised in Connell, Wash., and served in the Army. He then worked for a mint farmer in Pasco before moving to the Horse Heaven Hills to farm wheat in 1943. In 1947 he moved to Benton City and in 1950 he moved back to Horse Heaven Hills.

Survivors include his wife, Marles Moon of Prosser; five children, Dennis Moon, Dianna G. Moon and George Moon of Prosser, Mary A. Kukes of Grandview and Gladys E. "Gigi" Troemel of Simi Valley, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Prosser.

Prosser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Orville Lakey

Orville Lakey, 89, of Selah died Wednesday in Yakima.

Mr. Lakey was born in Vera Cruz, Mo., and served in the Army. He was employed with Yakima County Roads before his retirement.

Survivors include a son, Danny Lakey of Selah, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Wesley Robert Smith
Announcement dated May 27, 2005
Wesley Robert Smith, 86, of Port Orchard, Wash., died Wednesday in Harris Hospital.

Mr. Smith was born in Sinxville, Okla., and moved to Prosser in 1937. He was employed at the Hermiston Ammunition Depot and later worked at the Hanford Project until he was drafted into the Navy in 1944. After returning to Prosser, he worked as a deputy sheriff for Benton County until 1958. He then worked as a mechanic at Sandvig Motors in Prosser. In 1966 he moved to the Seattle area and retired from the automotive industry in 1983. He resided in Kirkland, Bothell and Port Orchard.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Elizabeth Smith of Port Orchard; two sons, Gary Wesley Smith of Vallejo, Calif., and Darree Robert Smith of Port Orchard; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Prosser Cemetery.

Prosser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Stella Lilllian Brunssen
Announcement dated June 19, 2005
Stella Lilllian Brunssen, 79, of Yakima died Friday.

She was born in Beatrice, Neb.

Survivors include a son, Don Brunssen of Yakima; a daughter, Sally Mayo of Yakima; a sister, Mary Ador of California; a brother, Dennis Salts of California; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at West Hills Memorial Park.

Audra S. Adkins

Audra S. Adkins, 78, of Yakima died Sunday at Cedar Hills Nursing Home.

Mrs. Adkins was born in Clinton, Ill. She owned and operated a cabinet-making shop from her home for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Frisch of Astoria, Ore., and Robert Frisch of Yakima; one brother, Mel Kenser of Norco, La.; two sisters, Zelda Williamson of Clinton, Wash., and Manitia Crispin of Champaign, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

There will be no services.

Barbara Ditter

Barbara Ditter, 86, of Yakima died Saturday.

Mrs. Ditter was born in Brookings, S.D.

Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Curry of Yakima, Susan Johnson of Sunriver, Ore., and Barbara Anderson of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. Vigil will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Cathedral chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Barbara Ann Lamson Burton

Barbara Ann Lamson Burton, 40, of Yakima died Saturday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

She was born and raised in Yakima. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Ackerman and Brittanie Lamson of Selah; one son, Justin Lamson of Selah; her parents, Vernon and Marlene Burton of Yakima; and one brother, Ronald Burton of Yakima.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
