Jo Ann Harkness, 67, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Born in Shelton, Wash., Mrs. Harkness is survived by her husband, Larry of Yakima; two children, Tammy Bollinger of Yakima and John Harkness of Bonney Lake, Wash.; a brother, David White of Oregon; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are pending. Arrangements are by Keith & Keith Funeral Home.

Anna M. Estrada

Anna M. Estrada, 54, died Wednesday in Yakima.

Born in Yakima, she is survived by her companion, Samuel Lopez of Yakima; a daughter, Martinia I. Gamboa of Yakima; her mother, Inez Estrada of Wapato; three brothers, Martin and Raymond Estrada, both of Wapato, and Manuel Estrada of Yakima; a sister, Paula Enriquez of Wapato; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services have already been held. Burial was at Reservation Community Memorial Park in Wapato. Merritt Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Norman E. Baird

Norman E. Baird, 68, died Thursday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.

Mr. Baird was born in McClure, Mo., and was raised in Selah, where he worked for Tree Top for 23 years.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Baird; two daughters, Anna Marie Kasabaum of Thompson Falls, Mont., and Chrystal Baird of Yakima; three sons, Bobby and Allen Baird of Thompson Falls and Brett Baird of Klamath Falls, Ore.; a sister, Jean Cornett of Yakima; a brother, Louie Baird of Chiloquin, Ore.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

At Mr. Baird's request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.

Miriam A. Warren

Miriam Anne Warren, 62, of Yakima died Thursday at home. She was born in Columbus, Neb.

Survivors include a son, Fred W. Warren III of Yakima, his father, Louis Kurtz of Yakima; two brothers, Joe and Frank Kurtz, both of Yakima; a sister, Betty Murphy of Yakima; and one grandchild.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Safety and Training branch of the Yakima Fire Department, or to the Yakima Police Department. Donations can be made through Keith and Keith Funeral Home in Yakima.

A memorial service is at 3 p.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel.

Anna M. Estrada, 54, died Wednesday in Yakima. She was a homemaker who was born and raised in Yakima.

Survivors include a daughter, Martinia I. Gamboa of Yakima, her companion, Samuel Lopez of Yakima; her mother, Inez Estrada of Wapato; three brothers Martin M. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a vigil at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Cleaver Catholic Church in Wapato. Burial will follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park..

Richard O. Burke

Richard Oran Burke, 93, of Yakima died Saturday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Fordland, Mo. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a journeyman plumber in Los Angeles, returning to Yakima in 1985. He worked as a home handyman until 2001.

Survivors include two children, Richard Burke of Selah and Lorene Abari of Walnut, Calif.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside service is today at 2 p.m. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.

Christine S. Cantu

Christine (Sifuentes) Cantu, 46, of Toppenish died Sunday in Yakima. She was born in Toppenish and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Cantu Jr. of Toppenish; her father, Pete Sifuentes of Toppenish; four brothers, Jesse and David, both of Toppenish, Andy of Union Gap, and Eddie of Gresham, Ore.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Funeral Home. Recitation of the rosary will follow at 5:30 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with visitation until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at the church with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Toppenish.

Zachary A. McCorkindale

Zachary "Zach" Allen McCorkindale, 25, of Selah died Friday in Yakima. He was born in Yakima and worked in construction.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kelly and Don Tucker of Yakima; his father, Mike McCorkindale of Selah; grandparents, Allan and Jane McCorkindale, Marilyn Purcell, and Robert and Cecile Schneider; and two stepbrothers, Joshua Tucker of Yakima and Ed Gunnoe, serving in the Army in Afghanistan.

Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

David Damm

David Damm, 90, of Yakima died Friday. He was born and raised in Clovers, Mont. He worked as a laborer throughout the United States in road and dam construction. He moved to the Yakima Valley in the 1950s.

Survivors include three sons, Don, Tom and Terry Damm; a daughter, Kimberley Dawson; three sisters, Mollie Rasmussen, Bertha Kaufman and Annie Buckholtz; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.

William T. Beatty Jr.

William "Bill" Thomas Beatty Jr., 67, of Henderson, Nev., died Feb. 15 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson.

Mr. Beatty was born in Los Angeles. He worked as an automobile salesman. He lived in different states and eventually settled in Henderson.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Beatty of Henderson; three daughters, Helen Auweloa of Maui, Hawaii, and Debbie Beatty and Billie Beatty, both of Henderson; one sister, Barbara Winter of Selah; two brothers, Philip Beatty of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Michael Beatty of Laughlin, Nev.; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services were Monday at West Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Leon Yearout
Announcement dated February 24, 2010
Leon Yearout, 89, of Yakima died Saturday. Mr. Yearout was born in Wapato and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a carpenter and taught in Issaquah, Wash., Torrance, Calif., and Palos Verdes, Calif.

Survivors include two brothers, Don Yearout and Leroy Yearout, both of Yakima; three sisters, Gaynelle LaComb, Patricia Stark and Eugenia Miller, all of Yakima; two grandchildren.

At Mr. Yearout's request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory.

Robert N. Schuller

Robert Nicholas Schuller, 81, of Yakima died Feb. 16 at Summitview Healthcare Center.

Mr. Schuller was born in Yakima and worked as a rancher.

Survivors include a daughter, Allyson Campbell of Yakima; a sister, Louise White of Yakima; a brother, Richard Schuller of Moses Lake; and two grandchildren.

No services are planned. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Norman F. Shaw

Norman F. Shaw, 84, of Prosser died Friday at Sun Terrace.

Mr. Shaw was born in Mt. Clara, Neb. The family operated a farm and dairy in the Prosser area since 1948. After retirement, he delivered parts for Hall Chevrolet and Napa.

Survivors include three children, Sherry Davis of Tri-Cities, Dennis Shaw of Sequim, Wash., and Gil Shaw of Prosser; a sister, Ruth Cook of Twin Falls, Idaho; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

There will be no services per Mr. Shaw's request. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home.

George A. Moore
Announcement dated February 24, 2010
George Arthur Moore, 84, of Prosser died Feb. 17 at Sheffield Manor in Prosser. Mr. Moore was born in Hooper, Wash. He farmed on the Horse Heaven Hills, then moved to Prosser. He retired from farming in 1970 and repaired small engines for General Parts in Prosser.

Survivors include four daughters, Delores Janshen of Vancouver, Wash., Barbara Edwards of Corvallis, Ore., Idella Callaghan of Auburn, Wash., and Sharon Anderson of Sunnyside; a brother, Carl Moore of Prosser; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 1-7 p.m. Friday at Prosser Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Christine J. Valenzuela

Christine Jenean Valenzuela, 56, of Sunnyside died Tuesday. Mrs. Valenzuela was born and raised in Sunnyside. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for Hillcrest Nursing Home.

Survivors include her husband, Esiquio "Cisco" Valenzuela of Sunnyside; her parents, William and Patricia Richards of Mattawa; two sons, Paul Lint of Sunnyside and James Lint of Yakima; two sisters, Rebecca Schei and Joann Morford; three brothers, Joel Richards, William Richards and Lyle Richards; and one grandson.

Viewing and visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Burial will be in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Douglas E. Train

Douglas Eugene Train, 47, of Yakima died Saturday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Train was born in San Pedro, Calif., and worked as a mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Train; his mother, Patricia Train of Yakima; his father, Stephen Train of Yakima; a son, Kaidn Train of Yakima; and a brother, David Train of Yakima.

At Mr. Train's request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory.

Pauline Sloulin

Pauline Sloulin, 94, of Yakima died Sunday at Chandler House. Mrs. Sloulin was born in Williston, N.D., and was a businesswoman.

Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Gooding of Sammamish, Wash., and Suzanne Cochrane of Orange, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory.

Robert C. Butterfield

Robert "Bob" C. Butterfield, 88, of Ellensburg died Sunday at Royal Vista Care Center. Mr. Butterfield was born in Yakima and raised in Ellensburg. He served in the Navy and also worked with the Chevrolet Agency, later known as Butterfield Chevrolet.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Butterfield of Ellensburg; a daughter, Anne Marie Bucklin of Perth, Australia; and one grand-daughter.

Inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, with private services at graveside. A memorial reception will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday for friends and family at the Quality Inn in Ellensburg. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care.

Jeannie Sherrod

Jeannie Sherrod, 59, of Atkins, Ark., died Sunday in Conway, Ark. Mrs. Sherrod was born in Yakima.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Sherrod of North Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, David Sherrod of North Little Rock and Christopher Sherrod of Maumelle, Ark.; two daughters, Amanda Sherrod of Little Rock, Ark., and Florence Sherrod Keller of Cleburne, Texas; two sisters, Jessie Sugden of Tonopah, Ariz.; and Karen Dallons of Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, David Hillstrom of St. Maarten, Virgin Islands; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be Saturday at Manila Cemetery in Manila, Ark. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

She was born in Richardton, N.D., and moved to Tieton in 1945. She worked on the family ranch and as a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Funkhouser of Selah and Dan Funkhouser of Tieton; four daughters, Sharon Gentry of Bonney Lake, Wash., Chrystal Gentry of Selah, Joanne Casey of Tieton and Virginia Blevins of North Pole, Alaska; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at West Hills Memorial Park.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
