Arthur Villegas, 55, of Ellensburg died Sunday in Yakima.

Mr. Villegas was born in San Jose, Calif. He was a restaurant maintenance manager in Ellensburg.

Survivors include his father, Marion Villegas of Graham, Wash.; two daughters, Mariana Villegas of Spokane and Abby Villegas of Ellensburg; a son, Joseph Villegas of Lynnwood, Wash.; a brother, Robert Villegas of Graham, Wash.; and four sisters, Laura Porter of Lakewood, Colo., Anna Sturtz and Amanda Odstcril, both of Bonney Lake, Wash., and Lena Villegas of Leavenworth, Wash.

Memorial services are pending. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Whitney Regina Upson-Brown

Whitney Regina Upson-Brown, daughter of Ashley and Lonnie Upson of Selah, was stillborn Friday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her parents, survivors include two sisters, Audrey and Joslyn Brown; and two brothers, Preston Upson-Brown and Taylor Upson.

A graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Donovan T. Pfau
Announcement dated July 27, 2010
Donovan Thomas Pfau, 70, of Yakima died Saturday.

Mr. Pfau was born in Esmond, N.D. He moved to the Yakima area at age 8. He worked as a real estate appraiser until retirement in 2009.

Survivors include a son, Brian Pfau of Seattle; two brothers, Norbert Pfau of Yakima and Donald Pfau of Portland; and two sisters, Ramona Violette and Marilyn Harrison, both of Yakima.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a vigil service at 5:30 p.m. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Cathedral with a burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Marie F. Kollmeyer

Marie F. Kollmeyer, 67, of Yakima died Sunday at home.

Mrs. Kollmeyer was born in Monterey, Calif. She was active in the Native American community in San Diego and was a member of the Cherokee Nation. She worked as a school secretary.

Survivors include a daughter, Anne Wood of Yakima; a sister, Donna Kurz of Oregon; and two grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be at West Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Gilbert A. Ulmer

Gilbert A. Ulmer, 85, of Ellensburg died Saturday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.

Mr. Ulmer was born in Lodi, Calif. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a mail carrier and postal clerk for many years after moving to Ellensburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Louise Walkowiak of Dufur, Ore.; two sisters, Erna Alexander of Seattle and Janette Wood of Condon, Ore.; and three granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Thursday at Affordable Funeral Care in Ellensburg. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the IOOF Cemetery, followed by a memorial gathering at the American Legion Club in Ellensburg.

William Fletcher
Announcement dated July 27, 2010
William "Bill" Fletcher, 64, of Selah died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Fletcher was born in Weiser, Idaho. He was raised in Eastern Oregon and served in the Army. He lived in the Yakima area for many years and worked in the car rental business.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Fletcher of Selah; a sister, Shirley Mieske of Renton, Wash.; and a brother, Richard Fletcher.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Sarg Hubbard Park. A luncheon will follow. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home.

Betty M. Zirkle
Announcement dated July 27, 2010
Betty Mae Zirkle, 80, of Yakima died Sunday.

Mrs. Zirkle was born in Yakima. She lived in California for most of her adult life until returning to Yakima, where she lived for the past 30 years. She was a health care provider.

Survivors include her husband, Keith Zirkle; four children, Julie Verney, Mark Stites, Daniel Stites and Janet McGillivray; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the home of Keith Zirkle, 6432 Cowiche Canyon Lane. Arrangements are by Funeral and Cremation Care.

Robert Reidt
Announcement dated July 28, 2010
Robert "Bob" William Reidt, 78, of Yakima died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Reidt was born in White Bluffs, Wash. He retired after 24 years from Yakima County Public Works in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie Reidt; a daughter, Phyllis Thisius; a son, Peter Thomas; three sisters, Lucille Lockard, Earline Whitson and Leona Holladay; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel with burial to follow at West Hills Memorial Park.

Victor Maling

Victor Maling, 72, of Sunnyside died Monday at home. Mr. Maling was born and raised in Sunnyside. He worked as a truck driver for Acme Trucking until his retirement.

Survivors include three nieces, Tammy Barnas and Cody Maling of Sunnyside and Kari Shiner of Lake Tapps, Wash.

Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Cleo L. Parks-Walker

Cleo L. Parks-Walker, 92, of Yakima died Sunday. Mrs. Parks-Walker was born in Wilkes County, N.C., and moved to the Yakima area in 1939. She worked in Yakima-area fruit warehouses and was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Walker of Harrah, Larry Walker of Lacey, Wash., and Jim Walker of Yakima; two brothers, "MC" Parks and James Parks of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Arlene DeHart and Joye Williams of Statesville, N.C.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Friday in West Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.

Bob Wanderscheid
Announcement dated July 28, 2010
Bob Wanderscheid, 62, of Portland died Saturday. Mr. Wanderscheid was born in Litchfield, Minn., and served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. He worked 11 years at Northwest Marine Machine Shop. Then he worked as a pipe bender at Ampco in Portland. He had lived in Yakima and Seattle before moving to Portland in 1973.

Survivors include his companion, Marie Upshaw; two sons, Tom Wanderscheid of Molalla, Ore., and Carl Wanderscheid of Warren, Ore.; four brothers, Mark and Paul Wanderscheid of Yakima, Stanley of Gresham, Ore., and Kevin of Seattle.

No services will be held. Arrangements are by Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, Gresham, Ore.

Clayton J. Kuykendall

Clayton J. Kuykendall, 55, of Yakima died Saturday. Mr. Kuykendall was born in Glenwood Springs, Colo., and moved to the Yakima area in 2006. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his mother, Pearl Thompson of Clarkston, Wash.; two sons, James Kuykendall of Greenwood, Calif., and Justin Kuykendall of Portland; three brothers, Ray Trust of Vernal, Utah, Randy Kuykendall of Missouri and Ben McKenzie of Yakima; two sisters, Mona McKenzie of Yakima and Thella of Grand Junction, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.

Kurt Joseph Staudinger, 24, of Yakima died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Staudinger was born in Yakima.

Survivors include his parents, Karl and Marilyn Staudinger of Yakima; and three sisters, Joelle Loveless of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Tara Curfman of Monroe, Wash., and Katie Staudinger of Yakima.

Stanley Coffin

Stanley Coffin, 84, of Yakima died Monday at home.

Mr. Coffin was born and raised in Yakima and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a physician and worked many years at a family practice in Yakima, retiring in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Severtson-Coffin of Yakima; two sons, Chris Coffin of Wenas and Tom Coffin of Yakima; a daughter, Sarah Coffin of Yakima; a sister, Nancy Hutton of Yakima; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Seasons in Yakima. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Susan L. (Erickson) Hatton Blair Pierce

Susan Lynn (Erickson) Hatton Blair Pierce, 61, of Casa Grande, Ariz., died July 16 in Auburn, Wash.

Mrs. Pierce was born in Naches and also lived in Yakima, Selah, Sequim, Wash., and Port Townsend, Wash. She worked at Yakima Oral Surgery for 20 years.

Survivors include her husband, Dick Pierce of Casa Grande; a son, Rob Blair of Auburn; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 at Rob and Alvina Blair's home in Auburn. Arrangements are by Curnow Funeral Home of Sumner, Wash.

Ricky G. Pieti

Ricky G. Pieti, 55, of Yakima died Tuesday.

Mr. Pieti was born and raised in the Yakima area. He worked as a detailer in the automotive industry.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy T. Black of Nevada; two daughters, Jennifer R. Selvog and Araia L.J. Pieti, both of Union Gap; his mother, Vivian L. Perkins of Union Gap; and five grandchildren.

Kurt Joseph Staudinger, 24, of Yakima died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Staudinger was born in Yakima.

Yarisbel M. Camacho, 2, of Wapato died Tuesday as a result of an accident. She was born in Toppenish on July 2, 2008.

Survivors include her parents, Uriel Camacho Sr. and Yecica Sepulveda; and a brother, Uriel Camacho Jr.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home, with recitation of the Rosary at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Toppenish. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Celedonia Robles
Announcement dated July 29, 2010
Celedonia Robles, 93, of Granger died Saturday.

Mrs. Robles was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She moved to Washington state in 1953. She worked as a baker/cook with the Granger School District for 17 years.

Survivors include two sons, Romy Robles and Robert Robles; seven daughters, Olivia Perez, Camelina Rodriguez, Mary Partida, Janie R. Salinas, Carmen Leal, Lupe Ruelas and Susy Valenzuela; two sisters, Rosie Gomez and Gigi Gatica; 40 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger. Burial will follow in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home of Sunnyside.

Diana K. Thompson

Diana Kaye Thompson, 29, of Wapato died Tuesday in Toppenish.

Ms. Thompson was born in Yakima and raised and educated in Toppenish. She worked as a caregiver and also worked at Legends Casino.

Survivors include her father, Tim Thompson of Wapato; her mother, Nadine Benson of Toppenish; and five brothers, Roger Benson, Derrick Thompson, Kyle Benson, Delfino Benson and Toney Rodriguez.

Dressing service will be at 1 p.m. today at Merritt Funeral Home, Wapato. Following the dressing service, she will be transported to the Rock Creek Longhouse in Goldendale for overnight services. Burial will be at 6 a.m. Friday in the Blackwolf Cemetery, Goldendale.
