Timothy "Tim Alan Fagerlie

Timothy "Tim" Alan Fagerlie, 23, died on April 29, 2003.

Tim was born March 27, 1980 in Redmond, WA. He graduated from Snohomish High School in 1998. He was currently working at Bill's Blueprinting, Inc. in Everett, WA as Network Administrator.

Tim is survived by his parents, Alan & Jane Fagerlie; his grandmother, Elizabeth "Liz" Reed; his fiance, Annie Biesheuvel; and his aunts, uncles and cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his grandfather, William "Bill" Reed.

Tim loved life. He enjoyed doing and seeing new things and being with his friends. Tim touched many hearts in his short life here. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Tim had pioneered and was active in the preaching work because of his genuine love for other people.

Memorial Services will be held May 9, 2003 at 7:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Snohomish, WA, 1002 13th St.

Barbara G. Lindsey

Barbara G. Lindsey, at the age of 78, a native of the Monroe, Everett area, passed away Monday, May 26, 2003 at Monroe. She was born December 21, 1924 in Index, WA.

Barbara retired from Providence Hospital after 14 years. She also worked at Boeing.

She is survived by five children, Sandy Clark, Pattie Barrie, Pam Edlin, Diana Coates and Rick Clow; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monroe.

Visitation Thursday, May 29, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Solie Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity or Bethany at Silver Lake.

Betty Jo Pederson

Betty Jo Pedersen, born September 2, 1925, left to be with our Lord on May 24, 2003 at the age of 77.

Whether cheering on her great-grandkids, digging in the dirt in her much loved gardens, shopping in her catalogs, or buried in her current book, she did everything with a smile. The self-proclaimed "matriarch" of her family, she has left them all with a lifetime of wonderful memories.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen McCauley and Janell Pearson, her sister Jackie Dzak, her grandchildren Erin Charles, Danielle Vennetti, Erika Rau, and Jason Benedetti, her much loved and overly spoiled ten great-grandchildren, and many wonderful friends.

Her family will hold a private celebration of her life complete with strawberry shortcake for dinner. Her favorite words of wisdom "Live life on your terms, have strawberry shortcake for dinner and ice cream for desert!" Her family requests in lieu of memorial donations, that everyone take thirty minutes out of their day to tell their family they love them, and to share an ice cream with their children or grandchildren.

Chester Delmer Hill

Chester Delmer Hill died May 24, 2003 in Arlington.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Sultan Cemetery.

Clifford L. Poitras

Clifford L. Poitras, age 34, of Lynnwood, passed away May 20, 2003.

Born in Renton, December 23, 1968.

Survived by his parents Bob Poitras and Barbara Ward, partner Kristin Peterson, son Christopher, daughter Charlee Ann, sister Lisa Poitras, niece Taylor Poitras, grandparents Theresa and Joe Malloy, and aunt Linda Beyerlin, best friend Rich Olson.

Memorial Service Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 5:30 p.m. at South County Senior Center, 220 Railroad Avenue Edmonds.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Washington Mutual Bank, benevolent account 'Clifford Poitras'.

Doris M. McDanold

Doris M. McDanold, 69, passed away the morning of Wednesday, May 21, 2003 after a courageous 2-week fight from the effects of a cerebral aneurysm.

Doris was born to Genevieve and Francis Curtin in Rapid City, SD on October 22, 1933. She moved to Lynden, WA as a teen-ager and graduated from Lynden High School in 1951. After marrying Warren on July 24, 1953, they lived in Bellingham, and then Renton. After Warren joined the State Patrol, they moved to Port Angeles where they built a house and lived for 10 years, then to Centralia for two years before settling in Everett for 20 years until retirement. Doris retired from many years of medical billing, including many years at Everett Family Practice. Since retiring, Warren and Doris enjoyed full time motor-homing with a place in Yuma, AZ and Mt. Vernon, WA. They have also enjoyed extensive traveling of the U.S.

Doris' passions included the Mariners, Bingo, trips to Reno with her sisters and mother, and visiting and hosting family and friends.

Doris was full of energy and love for life. Her enthusiasm for family and friends is reflected by the closeness of her family and the amazing number of lifelong friends she accumulated along the way. She truly loved the company of people and people loved to be around her because of her warm and caring way. Doris especially loved to watch her grandchildren grow up. She attended as many of their games and events as she could. Her grandchildren were dear to her. Doris Mae will be deeply missed by all those that knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Warren R. McDanold; also son, Richard W. McDanold and wife Sherry, with grandchildren Warren, Sara, Shannon of Marysville; granddaughter, Nicole of Ellensburg; daughter-in-law, Nancy McDanold of Marysville; son, Randy McDanold and wife Cheryl with grandchildren Dylan, McKinzee, Kalina of Arlington; daughter, Kathleen Torve with grandchildren Benjamin and Kristopher of Arlington; son-in- law, Larry Torve of Everett; sister, Joyce (John) Groen of Renton; sister, Maryannette Franey of Mitchell, SD; brother, Tom (Linda) Curtin of Anchorage, AK; brother, Peter (Emily) Curtin of Chandler, AZ; and many close cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-aw and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Janet Bracken and Margery Thomas and parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Purdy & Walters with Cassidy in Everett on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 1:30pm with a coffee and cake reception following at Masonic Lodge in Everett.

Grant Chittenden

On May 24 at God's perfect timing He choose to release our father from the pain he had endured for the past few years. At the time of his death, witnessed by 3 of his children, he was shepherded into the arms of his new found Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Dad was born on August 30, 1927 to Grant and Ellen Chittenden in Portland OR. Dad took part in World War II and was part of the occupying force in Germany. In 1950 he met and married Lorraine Patchen. They settled in Portland, and in 1953 Dad started his career with Pacific Grinding Wheel Co. as a sales rep. In 1955 he was transferred to California with 2 children, Karen and Robert. In 1956 the twins, Steve & Jeff were born. In 1965 dad was transferred to Everett to take on the position of sales manager. Later he was promoted to executive vice president. He left the grinding wheel business to start his own industrial tool & supply company in Portland OR, in 1980.

One of the many fine qualities my father exhibited was a great sense of humor. Even in the most trying of circumstances he could always see the good in everyone.

Dad leaves behind 4 children plus one adopted son, Andrew as well as his mom Lois and their spouses, and 7 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Bible League, PO Box 28000 Chicago IL., 60628, or the Shriners of Portland OR. Services are scheduled for Saturday June 21, 1:00 P.M. at St Francis Episcopal Church, Wilsonville, OR., located on the SE corner of I-5, Charbonneau exit 282B, from the north and exit 282 from the South.

Dorothy Jean Ballard

Dorothy was born in Seattle to Frank and Marie Schultz on November 16, 1912 and passed away on May 25, 2003, she was 90 years old.

She lived her early years in the Seattle area until she married Clarence Ballard on November 9, 1934 and moved to the country. Clarence and Dorothy pioneered in the Lake Forest Crest area near what is no called Mountlake Terrace.

Dorothy was a loving mother to her four children, George Ballard, Carolyn Ballard (Bergeron), Jerry Ballard and Shirley Ballard (Clippinger). When her children were small she worked in her home sewing clothes, canning the garden vegetables, and helping on their small farm. Dorothy later joined The Boeing Company where she helped build the B29 bomber and worked on many other airplane models for 28 years until her retirement.

Dorothy belonged to Quilters Anonymous where she made beautiful hand stitched quilts for her children, and also a few baby quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even a few great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was deeply loved by her family and friends, of which there are many. She will be greatly missed.

Hazel "Dolly" Martin

Our beloved "Dolly" had her daughters at her side as she quietly slipped away to the loving arms of our Lord, May 19, 2003.

Born Hazel Smith, September 7, 1924 to parents Eliza and Henry. One look from her brother and he said "she looks just like a dolly"... and so she has been our beloved "Dolly" ever since. She lived in the greater Machias area till she married Jess Granger in 1940. She and Jess lived in the Leavenworth area in the 1940's and early 50's. Then she lived in Granite Falls, and Machias for a number of years. In later years, she married Clifford Martin and resided in Gold Bar. The past few years she has been a resident in Regency nursing home in Monroe.

She is survived by her daughters, Sunday Nelson of Dryden and Suzan Robbins of Cashmere; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; brothers, Durward Smith of Raymond and Robert (Beverly) Smith of Darrington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eliza and Henry, husband Clifford Martin, son Johnny, daughter Rosa Lee Joy, granddaughter Laurel Lynn Nelson, great-grandson Robert Lee Dysinger, and her siblings, Howard, Desmond, Elma Howe and Evelyn Thompson.

Dolly loved to paint and work in her garden. In early years, she joined her husband Jess and roamed the northwest rock hunting.

Dolly will be dearly missed by all her loved ones and friends.

At her request, there will be no formal services. There will be a celebration commemorating her life at a later date this summer.

Earl Leo Swanberg

Earl Leo Swanberg passed away peacefully on May 22rd, 2003, at the age of 73, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on September 9, 1929, in Scobey, MT.

He is survived by his loving wife, Fay Swanberg; children, Jeffrey, Joy and Julie Swanberg; his brother, LeRoy Swanberg; sister, Mary Payne; his grandchildren; and the many friends whom he treasured deeply.

Earl served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He worked as a real estate broker in the local community and was an active member of the Nile Temple. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him.

In celebration of his life, a service will be held on May 30th, 2003 at 1:00 pm at the Nile Temple on 205th St., Edmonds. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the American Cancer Society.

Earl will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

Edna C. Bryson

Edna C. Bryson, 81, of Darrington, passed away May 27, 2003 in Ellensburg.

She was born October 23, 1921 in Lewistown, Montana and had lived in Darrington for 67 years.

She leaves her children, Melvin Hooper of Darrington, Tom Bryson of Arlington, Karen Gladsjo of Issaquah, Cindy Strole of Ellensburg, Nora Lee Keller of Lakeside, Montana; her three sisters, Ruth Crane of Toppenish, Frances Weisenburger of Darrington and Melray Stanley of Darrington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded by her husband, Fred Bryson; son, Kenny Hooper; and two brothers, Edward and Howard Inman.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 1:30pm at the Darrington Cemetery.

Jerrold A. Ballard

A courageous man died on May 24, 2003 after an arduous battle with cancer.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1940 in Seattle, served in the US Navy as a Fireman and Yeoman from 1959-1963. He later joined Boeing working in the 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767 and 777 programs, finally working as Resident Manager in China and then in Japan before retiring to Winthrop, WA. After a brief retirement, he joined Neuvant Aerospace in 1996 as an Inspector before fully retiring.

His greatest loves were his family, traveling, fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by brother, George and followed by mother, Dorothy.

Jerry leaves behind his loving wife Jody, siblings Caroline and Shirley, children Maria and Jerry Jr, grandchildren Amber, Brittany, Ronny, Cassandra and great grandson Jerry III among other loved relatives.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1119 Hwy 20 South, Twisp.

A family gathering will be held at a later date to honor his life. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Henry S. Foster

Henry died on May 20, 2003 at Marysville Care Center after a long battle with Dementia, at age 89.

Henry was born in New York on January 5, 1914. He was a resident of Marysville for the past 17 years. He retired from the Veterans Administration after a long career in engineering facilities.

Mr. Foster was an accomplished pianist, and attended the Julliard School of Music.

He leaves behind his loving daughter, Cynthia Empey, her husband Ed and granddaughter Carla Foster (Ellingwood), and her husband Rob ("Whiskers"). He also leaves loving family members in San Diego, CA and in Oregon.

He was preceded in death by wives Alice Jane and Mary and his beloved son, Thomas Henry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Marysville United Methodist Church.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Marysville United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m.

June Charlotte Drugge Weaver

June Charoltte Drugge Weaver, age 76, born June 14, 1926, In Chinook, MT. June moved to Monroe at the age of 2 from Chinook, MT with her parents, Carl and Ada Drugge. She died Saturday at her home, May 24th, with her husband of 57 years, Jess Weaver, at her side.

June loved hosting family and numerous friends at home and at the family cabin at Lake Conconully.

She graduated from Monroe High School in 1944. She attended Everett Business College. She was a full-time Mom for 12 years before beginning a career with the Monroe Schools District. She made lifelong friends with students, faculty and administrators in her 22 years with the district.

She worked at Pictsweet Frozen Foods while still in high school. She met her husband in 1943, when the two worked at the old Pictsweet plant.

June enjoyed sports, particularly tennis in high school. She was proficient in wood shop, where she made several furniture items for her home. An avid bowler, she participated in a Tuesday night league in Monroe for more than 25 years.

A devoted gardener, June spent countless hours in her yard, cultivating her flower gardens and preparing for the next family gathering.

She and he husband convoyed with close friends in motor home trips around the country. They visited nearly every state in the nation, with Jess in the driver's seat and June doing the navigating.

He many friends will remember her kind-hearted generosity.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Drugge in 199 1. Survived by husband Jess Weaver of Monroe, sons; Dan of Spokane and Tim of Monroe. Daughter Colleen Carlson and her husband Mike of Monroe. Granddaughter Charlotte Zissel and her husband Fred of Monroe; grandsons Jeremy Weaver and his wife Jill of Spokane, Chad Weaver of Spokane, Ben Weaver of Mill Creek and Casey and Robbie Weaver of Spokane. She also, has four great-grandsons, Drew and Tyler Zissel and Jess and Eric Weaver.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2pm, at Peace Lutheran Church, Park Lane and Diskinson Road in Monroe.

Karellen Suzanne Rudy

Karellen Rudy, 23, of Marysville, died May 23, 2003.

Karellen was born on October 31, 1979 in Orange County, CA.

Karellen is remembered as a fun loving, vibrant, outgoing young woman who danced into our lives bringing joy by her smile, presence, and personality.

Devoted to her family and a friend to all. The joy of our lives who will forever dance in our hearts.

Karellen is survived by the love of her life, her 4 year old son Kaden, and her loving parents Jim and Penny (Ellen) Rudy, her sisters Beth Kelly and Vanessa Jones and brother Justin Jones, and extended family and friends.

A celebration service in Karellen's honor will be held this Thursday May 29, 2003 at 4:00 pm at Calvary Chapel, 9428 4th St. SE Everett, WA 98205.

A trust fund account has been set up on behalf of her son Kaden. All donations should be sent to The Fathers House Foursquare Church, 17225 114th PL NE Granite Falls, WA 98252.
