Mary passed on at the age of 91, Sunday May 25, 2003 at Regency Care Center in Monroe.

Graveside services at IOOF Cemetery, Monroe, Saturday May 31st at 1:00 pm.

Arrangements by Purdy & Kerr of Monroe.

Normalee Margarite Thurman

Normalee Margarite Thurman, age 66, died May 27, 2003 in Fairfield, CA following a brief illness.

She was born in Sacramento, CA January 28, 1937, and spent her life as a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Klein and her husband Mike of Fairfield and Brenda Hillstrand and her husband Don of Everett; two sons, Mark Downs and Michael Downs of Auburn, WA; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service is being held today at 10 a.m. at Freewill Baptist Church in Fairfield. Reverend Samuel Hensley officiating.

Private inurnment will follow.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield.

Peggy Louise Ellis Allaire

Peggy Louise Ellis Allaire, 81, born March 1, 1922 in Oakesdale, WA, to Benjamin and Ila Ellis died peacefully with family at her side, May 28, 2003.

Peggy lived for 20 years in the Lynnwood area and in the Snohomish area for the last 30 years. She loved people. She was very social and was active in the Everett VFW and Monroe Eagles Clubs. She loved to dance and actively played pool on several leagues. She raised her children in the Snohomish County area where they attended Alderwood Manor Community Church.

She is survived by her eleven children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous extended family who will miss her greatly. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Lakeview Adult Family Home, where daughter Colette worked, for providing love and care in the final days of her life.

A memorial service is being held on Monday, June 2, 2003 at 4:00 P.M. at Alderwood Manor Community Church, 3403 Alderwood Mall Way, Lynnwood, WA. Burial will be with Purdy Dawson, Snohomish at GAR Cemetery, Snohomish, WA.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Monroe Rotary's Miracle League, c/o Ric Carlson, 21307 Meadow Lake Rd, Snohomish, WA 98290.

Phyllis G. Severson

Phyllis G. Severson, 81, of Everett, died May 28, 2003.

She was born August 15, 1921 in Stanley, North Dakota. Phyllis served in the US Navy during WWII, and has resided in the Everett area for 36 years.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 39 years, Duane "Fred" Severson; daughters, Daphne (Robert) Ward of New Brunswick, and Shelly Dart of Everett; son, Gregory Dart of Seattle; step-daughter, Darley K. (Sid) Williams of Minot, North Dakota; eight grandsons; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son, Bradford J. Dart in 1976; her sister; and two brothers.

Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at 11:00am at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Monday, June 2nd from 10:00am-5:00pm.

Toni K. Vanderpool Drake

Toni K. Vanderpool Drake, age 52, passed away May 30, 2003 after a long battle with cancer.

She was the youngest of 10 children born to Gene and Pat Vanderpool on June 12, 1950 in Everett, Washington.

Toni is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her 3 loving children, Julie Holthusen, Raymond Holthusen, Jr. and Ashlee Crittenden; 4 grandchildren, Blake, Amanda, Seth and Rebecca; 5 brothers, Rocky, Gary, Fred, Gale and Marlin; 4 sisters, Alberta, Judy, Judy Ann and Connie; and numerous other family members.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Timothy Robert Secor

Timothy (Tim) Robert Secor, 41, passed away on May 27, 2003 of a heart attack. He was owner operator of Sunset Heavy Haul. He was a lifetime resident of Snohomish County, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt bike riding and spending time with friends and family.

He leaves behind the love of his life Tami Chapman and her children; Billy and Rachel, his three sisters; Deborah Hughes, Linda Jensen (Mike) and Dianne Daves (Mike) and numerous nieces , nephews and life-time friend Scott Eanes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Alice Secor.

He will be truly loved and missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life Bar-B-Que, will be held on June 7th, 2003, 12noon - 4pm. Kasch Park, 8811 Airport Rd, Everett. For information, 360-653-5123

Willard Edward Kraemer

Willard "Bill" Kraemer, 82, died early in the morning of May 29th, 2003, at his home in Everett. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 12th, 1921.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Maxine; his sister Yvonne (Kraemer) Fiedler and husband Norman, of Sun City, AZ; his children and stepchildren: Ed Kraemer, of St. Petersburg, FL, Christine Kraemer, of Larkspur, CA, Jeff Kraemer and wife Elizabeth, of Honolulu, HI, Gregory Reinemer, of Rochester, WA, Douglas Reinemer and wife Rosetta, of Olympia, WA, and Leslie (Reinemer) Bryant and her husband Frank, of Renton, WA; eight grandchildren: Roger Kraemer, Yonkela, Dicken, Amos, Gretchen, and Melanie Reinemer, Barbara and Becky Bryant; and great-granddaughter, Ashley.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviation radioman. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1949. He went to work for Pitney Bowes and retired in 1985 after 34 years as a service representative.

Bill was well known for his love of music. He had a beautiful baritone voice and enjoyed singing duets with his wife. He sang in the Everett Chorale and his church choir, and also enjoyed playing his harmonica. In the early 1990's, Bill, along with his good friends Bus Harrison and Bob Leese, started a sing-along at the Everett Senior Center, which he continued to participate in and enjoy.

Bill also loved the outdoors. He and Maxine spent many wonderful hours tending the yard, hiking, backpacking, skiing, and just being in the mountains of Washington, California, and British Columbia. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and travel. Bill was also an avid fan of the Mariners.

Bill had a big heart and a bigger smile, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed. The family is grateful for the loving care provided by caregivers and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14th, 2003 at 2pm in Marysville, at the Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

Donations may be made in Bill's name to the National Parkinson's Foundation or to the EUUF Music Fund.

Aaron Upchurch

Aaron Upchurch, beloved son of Wendy McCallum, and brother of Dawn Upchurch, Heidi Woolfolk, Lance Upchurch, and Rory Thomas, died at age 42 on May 29, 2003.

He attended Queen Anne High School, and worked at University Swaging in Seattle prior to working in the family business at Chub's Pub in Snohomish.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1512 Pine Ave., Snohomish.

Arrangements under the direction of Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish.

Adele Lucile Williams

Adele Lucile Williams, age 84 passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 30, 2003. Adele was born February 4, 1919 in Yakima, WA. She retired from GTE after 25 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Kenneth O. Williams Sr. Adele will always be loved and greatly missed by her daughter Barbara Conoly, son Kenneth O. Williams Jr. (Faith), her grandchildren Dawna, Pam (John), Kathy, (Kevin), Emily, Carter and her great-grandchildren Christine and Nathan, cousins Barbara Watson (Bud) and Marion Swain.

The family would like to thank Sunrise Rehabilitation for all of the loving care they gave Adele.

A private family service will be held.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.

Dorothy E. Buoy

Dorothy E. Buoy, 85, died June 10, 2003 in Marysville, Washington.

She was born September 18, 1917 in Kaycee, Wyoming to Walter and Mary Cornell.

She is survived by three step-children; a large extended family and many friends.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 11:00am at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Washington. A reception will follow.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.

Evelyn Gertrude Shattuck

Evelyn Gertrude Shattuck passed away on June 14, 2003 in Providence Yakima Hospital in Yakima, WA.

She was born Evelyn Wood in Leicester, England on June 12, 1921. She grew up there and joined the Land Army during WWII where she met her future husband Victor Shattuck, a Canadian soldier. They were married February 20, 1943. It was after the war that Evelyn embarked on one of many journeys in her life. She traveled across the Atlantic on a war bride ship to Canada where she would later rejoin her new husband. Upon Victor's arrival the couple moved to the NW Territories where the mode of travel was dogsled, canoe, or floatplane. After years in the NW Territories Evelyn and Victor moved to Alberta, Canada and shortly thereafter the United States. One of Evelyn's proudest moments was when she became a citizen of the U.S.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Victor; and her brothers, Jim and Doug.

She is survived by her brother Norman who lives in South Wales; her son Doug Shattuck and wife Carole of Wasilla, Alaska; daughters Diane Brandt and husband Harvey of Everett, WA and Dale Overman and husband Ted of Yakima; also Stan Belsher of Yakima (who has been like a son to Evelyn and has remained a valued friend). She leaves behind seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her best and most loyal friend, her little dog Tristan.

We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jim and Pam Egan, Dr. Sylvia Labes, Dr. William Von Stubbe, her home caregivers (Laura and Babe), the entire staff of Providence Hospital and all of Dale's co-workers at Ear, Nose and Throat Associates. My brother and I would also like to say a heartfelt "Thanks" to our sister Dale for caring for and loving our mother as much as she did, especially these past five years. She unselfishly gave so much of herself. Also a special thanks to Carole whose humorous e-mails brightened Evelyn's days, to Harvey for always being there to help and to Ted for all he has done.

A family memorial service will be in July to remember Evelyn. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date in the Alaska Range so that she may be with Victor again.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated.

George Blendheim

George Blendheim, age 82, peacefully passed away on June 18, 2003.

He is survived by sister, Lillian Blendheim; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Marci Blendheim; grandson, Gary Allan Blendheim and two great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no funeral services.

Harold A. Lancaster

"Steve" Harold A. Lancaster passed away suddenly Sunday morning June 15, 2003; his wife Agness of 44 years was at his side.

He was born in Hutchinson, KS, February 19, 1922.

He leaves four children; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his two sisters; and one brother.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 2:30 pm at Cascadian Retirement Place, 3915 Colby Avenue, Everett, WA 98201.

Jonathan David "Dave" Limont

Dave Limont passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2003, after a long illness. He was born in Westfield, MA on July 23, 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; their three children, Paul Limont, Robby Limont, and Margy Limont; sister, Conner Limont of Palm Desert, CA; brothers, Peter Limont and Paul Limont, Jr., also of California; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kay and Paul Limont.

Dave spent his childhood in Mill Valley, CA. He was a natural athlete and enjoyed many sports, including tennis, swimming, skiing, track, football, and later golfing. He attended Marin Catholic High School, graduated from Menlo College and went on to the University of San Francisco.

Dave was first and foremost a family man. The family resided in Snohomish for the past 19 years. Dave took tremendous pride in his beloved children and his many good qualities are reflected in their lives.

A memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Snohomish on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.

Kent T. Schlaberg

Kent T. Schlaberg, 51, of Kittitas, passed away June 13, 2003 in Seattle.

At his request no services will be held. A private burial will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent WA.

Arrangements under the care of Solie Funeral Home and Crematory.

Kurt P. Fruetel

Kurt P. Fruetel "Scooter", 46, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 14, 2003.

He was born August 28, 1956 in Seattle, the son of Dean and Marcey Fruetel.

Kurt is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Kathy Fruetel; children, Jessica and Ross Fruetel; siblings, Sandra (James) Albright, Alan (Sandy) Fruetel, Kay (Cliff) Stein and Jim (Mary) Fruetel; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am-8:00pm at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 12:00pm at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Chapel, 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle, with committal services to follow at Washelli Cemetery.

Leroy Bagby

Leroy Bagby, 72, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 16, 2003 after suffering a stroke in Everett.

A celebration of his life will be held at Sunrise View Villa Retirement Center at 2520 Madison Street in Everett on Friday, June 20th at 2:30 p.m.

Loren V. Anderson

Everett resident, Loren V. Anderson (Andy), 75, died in Anchorage, AK on June 13, 2003 while on vacation.

Mr. Anderson was born on July 24, 1927 in Winchester, ID. He moved to the Seattle area in the 1950's and was a Greyhound bus driver for 25 years. Loren always loved working with wood and after retirement spent many hours in his shop creating a variety of crafts for friends, family and bazaars.

His wife of 46 years, Dorothy; his daughters, Jan Munson (Bill), Joan Coombes (John), and Kristi Anderson (Jim Houser); his grandson, Jesse Munson (Stephanie); and brothers, Jerry Anderson of Loon Lake, WA, and Gail Anderson of Spokane, WA, survive him. Loren has always been admired by his family and friends for his ability to overcome any challenge he faced. He was a very positive influence on every life he touched. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Edmonds, WA.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund or to your favorite charity.
