Mary I. Pearson

Mary Pearson, 56, of Roseburg, OR, passed away June 4, 2003 from Pulmonary Hypertension.

Mary was born January 8, 1947, in Beeville, TX to Louis and Isabel Garcia. Mary was married to James Pearson on April 3, 1970 in Beeville, TX. They lived in Marysville till December of 1995 then moved to Roseburg, OR. Mary was a homemaker, she loved to do ceramics, crochet and play with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband James Pearson of Roseburg; daughters, Georgia Frisk of Marysville, and Gina Goms of Granite Falls, WA; son, James D. Pearson of Roseburg, OR; mother, Isabel Garcia, sister, Teresa Sanchez, brother-in-law Jesus Sanchez, and brother Chris Garcia, all from San Antonio TX; and grandchildren, Maryn, Kody and Kylee.

Mary was preceded in death by her father Louis Garcia.

In respect for Mary's wishes, there will be no funeral. There will be a remembrance in her honor Sunday June 22, after 2:00 p.m. at the home of her daughter Georgia Frisk, 4519 94th Pl NE Marysville, WA 98270. Those wishing to come by are welcome.

Raymond Anderson

Raymond Anderson, 87, of Everett, died June 18, 2003.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, June 23, 2003 at the Solie Funeral Home Chapel with a reception to follow at the Everett Eagles.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2003, 11:00am at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22nd from 3:00-4:00pm and Monday, June 23rd from 10:00am to time of service.

Benjamin Adams Giard

Born Feb. 20, 1985

Adored son of Kim and Jan Giard; brother of Emily, Natalie, and Kaden; grandson of Rose Porrelli and Patricia Haines; nephew of Evan and Nancy Porrelli, Jeff and Trudy Giard, and Fred Giard.

Died June 18, 2003 in a scuba diving accident.

Funeral services will be held at Smokey Point Community Church, Smokey Point, WA on Monday June 23, 2003 at 2:00pm.

Ben was a tenacious and tenderhearted celebrator of life. The many activities he had a passion for were wrestling, scuba diving, singing, song writing, and cooking.

Ben's life touched so many people. He will be missed by countless family members and friends, including his best friend, Daniel Schneider. We thank God for all the extended family that have poured their love into his precious life. Ben's family and loved ones are comforted at this time by the knowledge of his personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. They are holding on to the hope of seeing this beloved one again in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the benevolent fund established at any Washington Mutual branch. There will be a donation made to the Philippines missions through Smokey Point Community Church.

Dean W. Bone

Dean W. Bone, 78, was born December 11, 1924 in Ogden, UT and grew up in Layton. He joined the Army Air Corps while still in school and left for training as soon as he graduated in June 1943. He received his wings and 2nd Lt. bars in September of 1944. From October 1944 to June 1945 flew B-17's in preparation for a tour of duty in Europe, but VE day came and he was transferred to Alamogordo, N.M. to fly B-29's - which he did until the end of the war. After the war he finished college at the U of Utah earning a degree in business and was hired by Allied Stores - worked all over Oregon, Washington and Idaho for about 10 years, as a buyer and divisional manager, finally settling for many years in Spokane, WA, where for a few years he opened his own custom drapery workroom. In 1966 he moved his family to the Puget Sound region, settling in Edmonds. After years in retail, he went into wholesale as a representative for a variety of textile fabrics, including drapery and carpet goods, before retiring in December 1999.

His greatest passion was flying. In 1975 he bought a Mooney. Dean was involved in the Washington Pilots Association in both the Paine Field Chapter and State levels. He served at times as a Snohomish County Airport Commissioner, W.P.A. President, and most recently as a docent for the Museum of Flight in Seattle. In addition to his great passion for flying, Dean enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, boating and especially family picnics in all the terrific parks, campgrounds and waterways. But everywhere and anywhere he went he made lasting friendships with people of all ages and walks of life.

Dean is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Mildred, of Edmonds; his siblings in Utah, Faye Barlow and Bill Bone; his sons, Terrence of Burien, Christopher and Victoria of Flemington, NJ, and Brian of Bothell; his daughter, Tina of Lynnwood; daughter-in-law, Margie of Seattle; and seven grandchildren, Kelli, Jeremy, Eric, Nicholas, Agatha, Cordelia and Tristam, spread from coast to coast; and by two great-grandchildren in Atlanta, Hailey and Jennsen.

He passed away June 7, 2003 from complications form surgery and stroke, after an extended hospital stay.

There will be no public memorial service, the family asks that all Dean's friends remember him and carry him forever with them in their hearts.

Earl E. Meyer

Earl E. Meyer, resident of Bellevue, WA, died June 18, 2003 at age 76.

The Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Green's Bellevue Funeral Home.

Fred Paul Schumacher

Fred Paul Schumacher, 79, passed away on June 16, 2003 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after incurring a fatal fall in Yakima the day before on Father's Day. Dad was a very proud and honorable man and fought to the end with his family by his side. He will be joining his wife of 52 years, Colleen, who passed away just four months earlier.

Dad was born in Yakima, WA on May 20, 1924 to Fred & Adelle Schumacher. When he was old enough to join the service he did so very proudly serving in the United States Navy on a submarine during World War II. After his honorable discharge he worked for the Washington State Patrol meeting our mother, Colleen on a blind date. It didn't take long before they both knew they belonged together. Dad & Mom married on June 28, 1950 in Tacoma, WA and had two daughters, Julia & Linda. Dad later entered the insurance business, moved to Everett, WA retiring in the early 1990's. Dad & Mom both loved trips to Seaside, OR where they spent their honeymoon and where the whole family spent many summers together. Later in life they spent their vacations in Reno and Sparks, NV where they enjoyed the sunshine and visiting family.

Dad is survived by his two daughters, Julia (Gerry) Gill of Everett, Linda (Les) Thompson of Yakima, his grandson, Cameron, who is currently in the U.S. Army and many friends and relatives.

At his request no services will be held. Dad will be greatly missed but remembered forever with love.

Harold A. Lancaster

"Steve" Harold A. Lancaster passed away suddenly Sunday morning June 15, 2003; his wife Agness of 44 years was at his side.

He was born in Hutchinson, KS, February 19, 1922.

He leaves four children; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his two sisters; and one brother.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 2:30 pm at Cascadian Retirement Place, 3915 Colby Avenue, Everett, WA 98201.

Harold Enick

Harold Enick, formerly of Tulalip, passed away June 19, 2003 in Billings, MT.

Funeral arrangements to be announced at a later date by Funeral Alternatives of Snohomish County.

Jonathan David "Dave" Limont

Dave Limont passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2003, after a long illness. He was born in Westfield, MA on July 23, 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; their three children, Paul Limont, Robby Limont, and Margy Limont; sister, Conner Limont of Palm Desert, CA; brothers, Peter Limont and Paul Limont, Jr., also of California; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kay and Paul Limont.

Dave spent his childhood in Mill Valley, CA. He was a natural athlete and enjoyed many sports, including tennis, swimming, skiing, track, football, and later golfing. He attended Marin Catholic High School, graduated from Menlo College and went on to the University of San Francisco.

Dave was first and foremost a family man. The family resided in Snohomish for the past 19 years. Dave took tremendous pride in his beloved children and his many good qualities are reflected in their lives.

A memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Snohomish on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.

Karen Phillips

Karen Phillips, of Everett, WA, passed away June 18, 2003. She was 66. Karen was born February 28, 1937 in Kristiansand, Norway.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Martha and Erling Stolesen.

She is survived by daughters, Susan Pierce and Linda Brearley (Kevin); son, Ed Tissue; brother, Erling Stolesen; Jr.; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Chapel, 1400 Larabee, Bellingham, WA.

Leona N. Lewis

Leona Lewis, 91, of Monroe, died on June 9, 2003.

Leona was born on May 18, 1912 in Seattle, WA. She was a Washington native all of her life.

Her loving husband, Lee, preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by her two sons, Barton and Brian; two daughters-in-law, Dee and Lori; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Reception for Leona, to celebrate her life, will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003, 1:00pm at the Best Western Baron Inn, 19233 Hwy 2 in Monroe.

Memorials may be made to the Sky Valley Food Bank or to your charity of choice.

Linda M. Clure

Linda M. Clure, 49, of Snohomish, Washington, passed away after a long battle with a debilitating illness on June 17, 2003.

She was born on March 30, 1954 in Sandpoint Idaho to David and Georgia (Schudel) LaBreche. She attended schools in Deer Park where she graduated from High School in 1972 and college at Spokane Falls in Spokane. She was a homemaker as well as Professional Breeder of Pomeranians and Dachshunds. She was a member of the Blackfeet Tribe of Browning, Montana and the Fellowship Baptist Church of Smokey Point, Washington.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Craig Clure of Snohomish; her son Troy (Titiana) Clure of Elma; daughter, Christina (Christopher) Schlosser of Marysville; brother, Robert (Tina) Fisher of Deerpark; grandchildren, Joshua, Kiri, Troy Jr., Christopher Jr., Tylor, and Porcha Sue; foster parents, Kenneth and Nancy Fisher of Deerpark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Johnny, Clifford and Davie and her sister, Brooke.

There will be a Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 2:00pm at New Life Center Foursquare Church, 6830 Highland Drive, Everett, Washington 98203.

Barth L. Arseneau

Barth joined his beloved wife of 48 years, Jeanette, when he lost his brief, courageous battle with cancer on July 24, 2003 while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 30, 1930 in Beaverville, IL to T.Y. and Theresa Arseneau. He was an Army veteran and a 51-year member of the Donovan, IL American Legion Post 0633. He lived the past 38 years in Lynnwood. Barth retired from GTE in 1986. He worked with Woltcom Inc. until 2002.

Barth will be greatly missed by his brother Aaron and wife Eula of Beaverville, IL; son Mark and wife Maureen; granddaughters, Alicia and husband Luke Nicley, Kalen, Rachel and Melissa; daughter Michelle and husband Jim McShane; grandchildren, James, Thomas, Kevin and Megan; daughter Lori and husband Curtis Eggleston of Martinez, CA; great granddaughter Bayleigh Nicley; mother-in-law Judith Witsoe; a large extended family; and numerous friends. Bath impacted many lives with his loving and giving ways; he will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Road in Lynnwood.

In lieu of flowers and in hope of finding a cure, the family requests that donations be made to Puget Sound Tumor Institute, attention Daniel Markowitz, 21605 76th Ave. West, Suite 200, Edmonds, WA 98206.

The family would like to thank Dr. Markowitz and the staff at Puget Sound Tumor Institute as well as the nurses and staff on the 8th floor and ICU at Stevens Memorial Hospital.

Betty June (Gaskins) Main

June 4, 1925 to July 26, 2003

Loving wife of Weston M. Main for over 57 years and a loving Mother to Susan (Gary) Fotheringham, and Pamela (Daniel) Rizzuto, and a wonderful "Abo" to Lori, David, Josh, Chris and Genesee.

Meeting at Bothell High School, Betty and Wes later met again, dated and married and spent the next 57 plus years enjoying each other and their family and many friends.

Following a brief illness, Betty June passed away at Stevens Hospital on July 26, 2003.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Thursday July 31, 2003 at 2:00pm at the Nile Country Club, 6601 244th ST. SW, Mountlake Terrace, WA.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Nile Temple Hospital Supply Corps and Snohomish 1 Medic Unit or the charity of your choice.

Edythe Lillian LaPlant

Edythe Lillian LaPlant, born December 29, 1916 in South Bend, WA, passed away July 26, 2003 in Everett, WA.

Survivors include her children, Don (Sandy) Tronsdal and Kay (Robert) Swanson; step-children, Beryl Sibley, Phyllis Lytle and Don LaPlant; grandchildren, Janice, Tommy, Mike, Rhonda, Mathew, Eric, Kristy, Terri, Julie; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 11:00am at Acacia Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle.

Glen P. Larson

Glen P. Larson, 83, of Snohomish, passed away on July 27, 2003.

There will be a Time of Visitation at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home in Everett on Monday, August 4, 2003 from 10:00am until Noon.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, August 4, 2003 at 1:00pm at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood.

Kathleen (Kay) West

Kathleen (Kay) West, age 95, of Lake Stevens, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Stanwood on July 25, 2003.

Kay was born in Vancouver, B.C., May 3, 1908 to John and Elizabeth (Stewart) McKee. Her mother died in an influenza epidemic when Kay was eight years old.

She was an excellent student and graduated from high school and Business College. During the Depression she moved to Los Angeles to find work and eventually became Supervisor of the Accounts Receivable department at Uniroyal Tire Company.

Kay met and married Merle West in 1934. They had two daughters, Marilyn and Frances and moved to Lake Stevens in 1947, where she and Merle cleared their property and built their home on Grade Road. She worked at the Lake Stevens Post Office for more than 20 years. After retirement Kay enjoyed volunteering and giving back to the community and she was active in Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She assisted in setting up well-baby clinics in the county. We all could expect a gift of her handmade slippers, cap or afghan at Christmas. She was in charge of the Lake Stevens blood drive, volunteered for the Red Cross and made hundreds of items, including baptismal crosses, and many items for various bazaars at church.

Kay loved spending time with family and friends. She and Merle traveled many times a year to Leavenworth where Merle's family lived. Kay enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved taking them on trips and delighted in their accomplishments. She loved preparing meals for her family and friends and was known for her delicious pies. Kay maintained and nurtured life long friendships. In her later years, she loved playing bingo, taking trips to Reno and watching the Mariners.

Kay is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Ronnestad and Frances West; five grandchildren, Richard, Cathy, Mary, Theresa and Christine; and three great grandchildren. Her passing will leave a void in our hearts.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 30th at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Lake Stevens.

Arrangements are under the care of Solie Funeral Home.
