Anne Erwin Alexander

Anne Erwin Alexander, 68, of Everett, WA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2003.

She was born April 1, 1935 in Altadena, CA to John and Helen Erwin. She graduated from Alhambra High School in Alhambra, CA. She had lived in Everett for the past 32 years. She was a member of Alderwood Community Church in Lynwood. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed!

Anne leaves her loving husband of 26 years, Harold I. Alexander; her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Deanna Ice of Arlington; her daughters, Cathy Woods of Marysville, and Stacy Hunt-Hughes of Everett; her sister, Lola Berkompas of Everett; six grandchildren, Melissa Ice, Melody Ice, Michael Ice, Drew Hallam, Brian Hallam and Rachel Hunt; her mother-in-law, Bernice Williams of Marysville; and her two sisters-in-law, Florence Baggarly, and Eleanor Nielsen of Marysville.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 12, 2003 at 1:00pm at the Alderwood Community Church. Private interment at Floral Hills Cemetery.

Beverly J. Alford

Beverly J. Alford, 77, a longtime resident of Lake Stevens died on November 30, 2003 after a prolonged illness.

She was born in Little Falls, MN on September 27, 1926, raised in Marysville and graduated from Marysville High School.

She was preceded in death by her High School sweetheart, Jimmie M. Alford, whom she married in 1944.

She is survived by her brother, Les LeMieur of Little Falls, MN; three children; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson. They include Jimmie and Chris Alford of Snohomish, Scott and Anne Alford of Lake Stevens and Mary and David Miller of Lake Stevens; grandchildren Jenni and Skip Fabritius, Jeff and Kim Alford, Matt Alford, Michelle and Bryan Hall, Scott Hollo, Jess and Tracy Alford and great grandson Wyatt Hall.

A special "Thank You" to all Mom's friends and especially the staff at Marysville Care Center and Hospice for all the wonderful care and prayers they provided.

Memorial services will be held at Lake Stevens Covenant Church on December 14th at 2:00pm.

Erna Leona (Sue) Jensen

Erna Leona Jensen, 75, passed away November 26, 2003 at a local hospital with her family at her side. Sue was born September 11, 1928, one of five children born to Isaac and Helen Nyman, and grew up in Marysville. Sue graduated from Marysville High School in 1946. Her senior year of high school, she won a trip to Chicago for the "Best Cook in the State of Washington" which later led her to be a 4-H leader for her daughters.

She met her husband, Milo, and was married August 29, 1947. Her life revolved around her husband and four children (family was of utmost importance to her). In 1957 they moved to East Everett onto a small farm where she provided for her family all the good things that came from her garden, and they raised their own chickens and beef. She canned all during the summer months. She enjoyed sewing her daughters clothing and being a leader of their 4-H group. Later, she worked with her husband, a commercial fisherman on his boat, the fishing vessel "June" as the chief cook and bottle washer. She also was a valued deck-hand in running the purse winch. After retirement, Milo and her enjoyed traveling with their friends to southern California and Hawaii.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Milo; son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Cynthia Jensen of Snohomish; daughters and son-in-laws Donna and Don Rashell of Everett, Susan and Dennis Alexander of Lake Stevens, and Jane and Jeff Holloway of Lake Stevens; sisters Marie Hanson of Everett, and Arlene and husband Ralph Rohde of Marysville; sister-in-laws LaVerta and husband Bod Wedemeyer of Everett, Connie and husband Don of Everett; grandchildren Mark and Rob Rashell, Dennis, Chris and Keri Alexander, Bryan and Erick Jensen, Chelsey and Katie Holloway; and one great-grandchild Chase Alexander.

She committed her life to helping her family and friends, rarely thinking about her own personal needs. Her grandchildren were very precious to her and often you would find them at her house working a puzzle, playing games or baking. She was a most kind and giving person. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends, and especially remembered for her unselfish ways and giving hearts.

Funeral services will be held at Shaeffer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Snohomish County, 2731 Wetmore Ave., Suite 500, Everett, WA 98201.

Eunice Mae Mostrom

Eunice Mae Mostrom, 79, entered into rest November 28, 2003.

Eunice was born on July 3, 1924 in the township of High Landing, MN.

Eunice is survived by four children, Oscar and wife Ginger of Hugoton, KS, Errol and wife Linda of Port Orchard, WA, Dwight and wife Carol of Chewelah, WA and Dean and wife Janice of Ferndale, WA. Eunice is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Casen, Susan, Gina, Lisa, Ranae, Tammie, Dwight Jr., Dean Jr., Dale, Annette, Brandie; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Beicker; and seven brothers, Walter Hamm, Ted Hamm, Forest Hamm, Roger Hamm, Irvin Hamm, Gerald Hamm and Daryl Hamm.

Eunice and Oscar G. Mostrom were united in marriage October 11, 1941 in Thief River Falls.

Eunice was preceded in death by Oscar on July 21, 1987. Eunice was also preceded in death by sisters, Florence Milam and Helen Syversrud; and brother, Orlando Hamm.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2003, 1:00pm at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Avenue in Marysville. Graveside following at G.A.R. Cemetery in Snohomish.

Fletcher F. Laukka

Fletcher F. Laukka, son of the late Ernie Laukka and Opal (Pitzer) Laukka, was born August 24, 1946 in San Pedro, California and passed away early Friday morning, November 28, 2003 in Seattle, WA. He was 57 years, 3 months and 4 days old.

Fletcher attended elementary school and graduated High School in Chewalah, WA. After graduation, he enlisted in the USAF and retired after 23 years of service. During his years of military service and employment at Boeing he completed his college degrees. He retired from his position with Boeing as an Aeronautical Engineer on February 1, 2003.

He is survived by his wife Rosemary Laukka of the home; his mother, Opal Laukka, and one sister, Dolly Hanson of Lakewood, WA; two daughters, Louetta Whitaker and family of Warden, WA., Beverly Harris and family of Omak, WA., and one son, Jr. Laukka of AK; four stepsons of Oklahoma and five grandchildren.

He will be remembered by other relatives and numerous friends.

Services will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA, Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 1:00PM. Burial will follow graveside services. Visitation will be held at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, WA, Tuesday, December 2, 2003 and Wednesday, December 3, 2003 from 12:00PM to 8:00PM .

Irene J. Bradshaw

Irene J. Bradshaw, 96, of Marysville, died November 29, 2003 at an area care facility. She was born on November 29, 1907 in Snohomish. She lived in the Everett area all her life.

Irene owned the Sno-King Cleaners in Lynnwood. She was a member of the Normana Lodge #3 and the Sons of Norway.

Irene is survived by her 2 daughters, Clarene (Ed) Walker of Everett and Jean (Gordon) Bakko of Marysville; 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 36 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Lynnwood.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Jack R. Olson

Jack R. Olson left this world to be with the Lord on November, 27, 2003. He was born on September 7, 1931, the son of Jarland and Rita Olson, in Duluth, MN. Jack grew up in Friday Harbor, WA, and was a 1949 graduate of Friday Harbor H.S. He married Arline Johnson in 1955 and together they raised two daughters, Tara and Lynda in Everett, WA.

Jack enlisted in the US Navy after graduation and was accepted to Sub School, serving on the USS Flying Fish, Spikefish, and Argonaut submarines. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jack started his career with West Coast Telephone in 1954 as a Central Office Installer. His telephony career took him to Los Gatos, CA and Irving, TX. He retired in 1985 from GTE as a VP - Engineering and Construction in Irving.

After retiring, Jack and Arline returned to Everett. Jack joined Telematic, then owned Cascade Yacht Brokerage for several years, before becoming Director - Engineering and Planning for the Port of Everett, retiring again in 2001.

Jack was a lifetime member of the Everett Elks, current member of the Masonic Order, past member of the Everett Yacht Club, Everett and Irving, TX. Chambers of Commerce, WSU Advisory Board - College of Engineering.

Jack will be deeply missed by his daughters, Tara (Gary) Stormo, Lynda (Mark) Olson-Rudolph. Missing their Grandpa will be his grandchildren; Skylar, Britta, John and Elle. Jack also leaves behind his brother, Bobby, of Chico, CA., and his friend, Roger Vallo who was like a brother to him.

He was preceded into heaven by his wife, Arline, who died 5 months ago, his parents, and sister Gloria.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 1 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, or The Tall Elks Foundation, c/o The Everett Elks #479, 2731 Rucker Ave., Everett 98201.

John Lee Taylor

John L. Taylor, 60, passed away on November 28, 2003.

He was born August 25, 1943 in Everett, WA to Leonard and Alice (Shannon) Taylor. A graduate of Everett High School, John led an extremely adventurous life. Some of his adventures included 41 years of service in the U.S. Army and National Guard, Vietnam veteran serving in 1966-67, 29 years of service as a deputy in the Snohomish County Sheriffs Department and 48 years of involvement in Snohomish County Volunteer Search & Rescue.

As the director of SCVSR, he led it to be one of the premier Search and Rescue programs in the world, which helped save thousands of lives. A member of the VFW and the Monte Cristo Preservation Assoc., his countless awards, honors, achievements and other adventures are too numerous to list.

John is survived by his wife, Lonna; son, Bill Taylor and his wife Tabetha; and daughter, Lynnette Smith and her husband Shawn; as well as his mother, Alice; and brothers, George and Ray.

His father, Leonard; his son, Robby; his uncle Walter and aunt Izelda Shannon precede John in death.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a benevolence account at BECU or SNO-COPY in memory of John L. Taylor.

Viewing will be Wednesday, December 3, 2003 between 4:00-8:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home in Everett.

Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 1:00pm. Reception immediately following at Taylors Landing on Bunk Foss Road.

Joseph Dean Lee

Joseph Dean Lee 72 of Camano Island died Thursday November 27, 2003.He was born January 22, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois.

Joseph grew up in North Carolina graduating from Sanford high School in 1951. He joined the U.S. Navy right after high school. He served from 1951 until his retirement in 1981. During his travels with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific he met and married Michiko Nishimoto on January 10, 1958. The two enjoyed forty-five years of marriage.In 1981 he retired from the Navy as a Master Chief. He enjoyed living on Camano Island and being part of the Community, serving as head of the Camano Sunrise Community. He also enjoyed the Outdoors, hunting, reading, and especially working on reunions for the ship and crew he served with as a member of the Tortuga 26/46 Association. Joseph and Michoko Travel extensively all over the world in their retirement.

He is survived by his wife Michiko of Camano Island, son and daughter-in-law Tsuneto and Rebecca Lee of Arlington, grandchildren Cameron and Karissa Lee, and two brothers, Daniel and Charles Lee. He was preceded in death by one sister Carolyn Weber.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood. Concluding military graveside service will be held at the Camano Lutheran Cemetery, Camano Island,WA.

Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.

Philip Tyrone Brewer

Philip Tyrone Brewer, age 47, was born September 30, 1956 in Castro Valley, CA and was killed in an airplane accident along with his wife, Sondra Brewer, and his step-children, Elissa and Marisa Vandeventer, in Scappoose Bay, OR on Tuesday, November 25, 2003. While living in his last six years in Everett, he had married his wife, Sondra Ross in Everett December 9, 2001.

Philip had served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 yrs. and in the reserves for 5 yrs., and was discharged in the 1970s. He was working for Boeing Co. in Seattle as a Flight Test Manager since 1986. He was a pilot since age 18 and airplanes were his whole life. He also enjoyed boating.

Philip attended Baptist churches throughout his entire life in all the many places in which he had lived. His family remembers him the most as a man who had a very warm, loving heart and was always willing to help anybody out that had a need.

He leaves his 2 sons, Matthew Brewer and Christopher Brewer and 1 daughter, Christopher's twin sister, Katherine Brewer all of Tacoma; his parents, Jim and Patricia Cook of Palm Dessert, CA; his 2 brothers, Douglas Brewer of Roseburg, OR and Norman Brewer of CA; and his sister, Denise Brewer-Reiner of Granite Bay, CA.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. at Northshore Christian Church, 5700 23rd Drive W., in Everett for both Philip and Sondra.

Private interment was held Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett. Arrangements were entrusted to Chapel of the Resurrection Funeral Home, Bothell.

Richard "Jack" Jackson

Richard "Jack" Jackson, died November 27, 2003. Born in Moab, UT; worked as marketing director at Mary's Towing.

Survived by son, Carl (Michelle) Jackson of Georgia and brother Robert Jackson of Salt Lake City.

Memorial celebration will be Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at 3:00pm at Eagles Hall FOE 2888, 19223 Highway 99, Lynnwood. Arrangements, Beck's Funeral Home, 425-771-1234

Rosemary Angelo

Rosemary Angelo spent the last 27 years of her life in the Everett/Marysville area, near her family, enjoying her friends and traveling a great deal.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 12, 1926 and passed away on Friday, November 28, 2003 with her family by her side.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Saint (Larry); and was "Nana" to her granddaughters Kristen McPherson (John) and Lindsey DeHart (James) for whom she lived her life.

Most of her adult life was spent working in the NW lumber industry and later at the American Legion in Everett. She and Joe, her husband of 14 years, devoted many hours to the Legion and she remained passionate about rights and benefits for veterans. It was during WWII that she contributed to the war effort as a welder.

She lived for her family and friends, gracious and generous in every respect. A wonderful cook, no one could make a finer meatloaf or chicken salad sandwich. Rosemary always approached life with a sense of humor that everyone would notice. She maintained her sense of humor as her last words in this world revealed. Her strong sense of faith and willingness to help those in need stemmed in part from her studies in a convent during her early 20's.

Rosemary enjoyed spending time traveling to meet her best friend, Joyce (of Texas), with whom she spent countless hours of her adult life talking, completing crossword puzzles and communicating via WebTV.

We can't imagine a day without her. In keeping with her desire to help others, donations can be made to Northwest Harvest.

Roy S. Marler

Roy S. Marler, 89, of Snohomish, died November 28, 2003. Roy was born September 8, 1914 in Simpson, KS, to Bert and Aletha Marler. His beloved wife of 67 years, Avis, preceded Roy in death one year ago.

He is survived by sons, Arnold and Keith; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister; plus many nieces, nephews and friends.

Roy Marler resided in Snohomish for 57 years. He and his wife owned and operated Liberty Cleaners for 22 years. Roy served one term as City Councilman, Precinct Committeeman, member of many business associations, and Christian organizations. Roy was active in his local church and has served as a leader in many capacities throughout his life. He lived a very full life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Thursday, 9am to 5pm at Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish. Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Saturday, December 6th at Snohomish Evangelical Free Church, 210 Avenue B, with burial following at G.A.R. Cemetery.

Sondra Noel Brewer

Sondra Noel Brewer was killed along with her husband and two daughters when their Beach Bonanza single-engine plane crashed near the Scappoose Airport in Oregon Tuesday morning, November 25th. Sondra and her family were flying to Palm Springs, CA, to spend Thanksgiving with family.

Sondra was born November 28, 1964. Sondra and her family moved to Whidbey Island in July of 1972. Along with her family, she grew up enjoying her home on their six acres on South Whidbey. She had many animals, but especially enjoyed her horses. She was involved in Horse 4-H and when she was 16 she was rodeo queen representing the North Whidbey Stampede. Sondra grew us also actively involved with the Langley Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. While going to school, she worked part-time at Payless Foods in Freeland and the Star Store in Langley. Sondra is a 1982 graduate of South Whidbey High School. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1989. Later she earned her CPA, CIA and CMA degrees in Public Accounting.

Sondra worked several years for the Moss Adams Accounting Firm in Everett. She was most recently employed at KempWest in Snohomish.

The joy of Sondra's life was her husband of two years, Phil Brewer, and her two beautiful daughters - Elisse, 11, and Marisa, 9.

Sondra is survived by her parents, Bob and DeDee Ross of Langley; two sisters, Chrissy O'Keefe of Langley and Debbie Hughes of Langley; a brother, Steve, of Waco, TX; and two grandmothers, Barbara Benofsky of Langley and Marie Ross of Auburn, CA.

Her family and friends will miss her deeply. Her sunny smile could light up any room. We don't say good bye Sonnie, but instead we say - "We will see you again."

Memorial services for Philip and Sondra Brewer will be Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at 3:00pm at the North Shore Christian Church, 5700 - 23rd Dr West, Everett, WA.

Alice Marie Lundeen

Alice Marie Lundeen was born April 28, 1926 to Axel Lundeen and Marie Vining Lundeen in Lake Stevens, WA. She died in Beaumont, CA on November 18, 2003.

Axel Lundeen's family operated Lundeen's Park on the lake. Alice went to elementary school in Lake Stevens, however, she attended Everett High School graduating in 1944. She studied music at Whitman College for two years and also attended the University of Washington.

Alice worked for United Airlines as a flight attendant and in the reservation department in Seattle. She lived in the family home in Lake Stevens until she moved to Cathedral City, CA in 1998.

Alice is survived by her cousins and their families in Washington and California.

Memorial Services were held at the Church of Christ in Palm Springs, CA on November 30, 2003. Inurnment at the GAR Cemetery in Snohomish.

William Fredrick Hawley

William (Bill) Hawley, 82, passed away suddenly at his home in Lynnwood on November 29, 2003.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty; son, Fred of Lynnwood; daughter, Chris and husband Bill Hoffman of Bellevue; son, Charles and wife Gail of Redmond; and daughter, Nancy and husband John Lorge of Renton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Bill was born on June 27, 1921 in Mansfield, Washington. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from October, 1941 to July, 1964. He did his undergraduate work at UCLA and received his MBA from Harvard. Retiring from the Navy at the rank of Commander, Bill started a tax and bookkeeping service for small businesses. He enjoyed his "retirement" job for 39 years. In between tax seasons, Bill and Betty enjoyed traveling throughout the world and saw all of the seven continents. A quiet and gentle man, he was a passionate follower of local sports but nothing came before his love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 5th Avenue South in Edmonds (425-771-1234) on Friday, December 5th at 1:00 p.m.
