Judith Irene Frinchaboy

Judy Frinchaboy, 58, of Arette, France died February 13, 2004 after a short battle with cancer.

She was born March 18, 1945 in Whitefish MT to parents David and Lilian Clowers. She married Pierre in 1962 and raised their family while working with him in the Everett Bonding Company. She retired with her husband to France in 1985 and lived there until her death. She will be missed by all who love her and will be remembered for her great skills as a cook, her ability to make masterpieces out of yarn and what a wonderful grandma she was.

She is survived by her husband Pierre Frinchaboy; sons, Jacques and Maurice; daughters, Suzette and Michelle; and three precious grandsons.

Kathleen D. Dailey Loper

Kathleen D. Dailey Loper, 84, passed away March 2, 2004.

We will be sharing our fond memories of Katie/Kay in a celebration of her at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4132 Federal Avenue, Everett on Friday, April 2nd at 3:00pm. This is a non-denominational gathering, and if you'd like, you are invited to wear something in her favorite color, purple.

MaryLou (Mix) King

MaryLou (Mix) King of Snohomish , WA, died peacefully in her sleep on March 26, 2004 after a very brief but courageous battle with cancer.

MaryLou was born May 22, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA, but lived most of her life in the Puget Sound area. She attended Mt. Si High School in Snoqualmie and worked for 25 years as a secretary with the Boeing Company. Upon retirement she traveled extensively around the world. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and was a very talented artist. She split her time between Washington and Arizona and loved to golf and hit the casinos! She was a wonderful mother, companion and friend and she will be extremely missed by all.

She is survived by her son Mark Stevens of Everett; daughters, Laurie Hunt of Snohomish, Tammie Nudo of Renton, and Marcie Mauhl of North Bend; fiance Bernt (BK) Middleton of Snohomish; brother Robert Mix of Pea Ridge, AR; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Melvin Stevens of Snoqualmie and Gary King of Snohomish.

At her request, no funeral services will be held. Her family and friends will gather privately at Novelty Hill Cemetery in Duvall, date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Overlake Hospital, Lang Oncology Unit.

Philip Stanton Williams

Phil was born in Seattle on February 2, 1928 and died Tuesday, March 18, 2004.

He graduated from Edmonds High School in 1944. After two years in the Navy as an Aviation Radioman 3rd Class, he entered the University of Washington, earning a BA in Education. He taught in the Edmonds area for five years, then won a National Scholarship to Washington State University, earning School Counselor credentials and a Masters Degree in Education. Despite this one year in Pullman, he remained an ardent Husky, taking great delight in their football victories, especially the Apple Cup. Phil counseled Junior High students in the Edmonds area until his retirement in 1983. He and his wife, Bettie, then moved to Camano Island. Phil spent his life loving and being loved. He had a special affinity for children, and was "Grandpa Phil" to Mrs. Olsen's 1st grade religious education class. He was an active member of his Catholic faith, at both Holy Rosary Parish in Edmonds and St. Cecilia's Parish in Stanwood.

Phil is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bettie; daughter, Theresa (Ernest) Emmert; and son, Christopher. They and his many friends will deeply miss his joyous spirit.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia's in Stanwood on Tuesday, March 30th at 11:00am, reception following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Cecilia's Marlece Duncan Shoe Fund.

Ronald J. Schifferl

Ronald J. Schifferl, 72, recently of Mukilteo, WA, died March 23, 2004.

He was a resident of Mountlake Terrace for 39 years. He was born in St. Paul, MN, graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1950, and attended ROTC with the University of Washington. He was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He and his sister owned and operated Mt. View Villa Mobile Home Park, continuing a family tradition of providing affordable senior housing. A former member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks, and Eagles, he also enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, hunting, field archery, the outdoors, photography, and especially golf. He battled his long term medical afflictions with the same zeal he had for his golf. He kept an honest scorecard, and tried to stay on the fairway in life. He spent his career with several mechanical engineering companies in the Seattle area.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Schifferl; sister Germaine Medley; sons, Darren Schifferl, Cory Schifferl, and Brad Schifferl; daughters, Denise Carlson and Carol Schifferl; one nephew Keith Medley; one niece Michelle Medley; eight grandchildren; as well as numerous Schifferl and Gillis cousins in Minnesota, Florida, California, and Seattle.

The Rosary will be said and a Vigil will be held beginning at 7:45pm on Thursday, April 1, 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 1:00pm on Friday, April 2, 2004. Both will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 22209 - 58th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 700 S. Dearborn, Seattle, WA 98134 or Group Health Community Foundation at 1730 Minor Ave., Suite 1500, Seattle, WA 98101.

Russell C. Anderson

Russell C. Anderson, 83, of Everett, WA, passed away on March 24, 2004.

He was born April 1, 1920 in Lakewood, WA and graduated from Marysville High School in 1938. On September 24, 1951 Russ and Marilyn (Jensen) married and were life companions and best friends for 52 years. During their long and loving relationship they spent many happy times traveling in their trailer to Lake Chelan in search of sunshine or to Ocean Shores to dig clams. After Russ retired from Brien Motors in 1982, Russ and Marilyn enjoyed many local day trips exploring the scenery of Puget Sound.

Russ was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge No. 84, VFW Post 2100 and the Everett Elks Lodge No. 479.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn on April 17, 2003.

Russ will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law and nieces, Gloria, Linda and Kathy Velia of Everett; his foster niece, Dolores Cotton and her companion, Dale Bly, of Arlington; his brother-in-law and wife, Clifford and Phyllis Jensen and their children, Gary, Steve and Laurie Jensen, all of California.

He is survived by his twin sister, Ruth Harris of Mukilteo and nephew and nieces, Gary Harris, Anita Alexander, Jean Wasmund, Judicia Anders, Penny Benson and Linda Fuller. He also leaves behind several long-time neighbors and close friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Alterra Claire Bridge at Silver Lake for the excellent care and attention they gave to Russ.

Russ's favorite charity was the Salvation Army, as he always remembered how the "Sallies" would greet the WWII troop trains with free coffee and donuts, and a smile. Any remembrances can be made to the Salvation Army, 2525 Rucker Ave., Everett, WA 98201 or to Hospice of Snohomish County, 2731 Wetmore Ave., Everett, WA 98201.

Funeral Services will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 1:00pm followed by a remembrance hour in the hospitality room. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27th from 2:00 until 4:00pm.

Sam M. Brown

Sam M. Brown passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2004 after losing his battle with cancer.

Sam was born on August 19, 1942 in Chicago, IL. He moved to Everett, WA in February 1965 where he met and married his wife Betty in August 1965.

Those he leaves behind are his wife Betty; daughter Kathy and her husband David Redenbaugh, and his beloved grandsons, David Jr., Matthew and Michael Redenbaugh. Sam also leaves behind his two sisters Joan Knapp and her husband Bill, Nancy Nese and her husband Frank all of Chicago, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sam worked at Snohomish County PUD until 2000 when he opened Sam's Gun Shop in Everett, WA. He also had been a Reserve Deputy for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office for 28 years. He was a firearms instructor and trained many reserve police officers throughout Snohomish County.

Sam was known for his quick smile and sense of humor. He loved telling stories and teasing everyone. Sam was loved by his many friends and will be missed terribly. A special thanks to all of Sam's employees at Sam's Gun Shop and the many friends that have supported him throughout his battle with cancer. We couldn't have done it without your love and support.

A celebration of his life was held on March 25th.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in Sam's name to the local council of the Boys Scouts of America, Providence Hospice of Snohomish County or the American Cancer Society.

Vicki Jo Jackson

May 31, 1952-March 15, 2004

Vicki passed away at her residence in Arlington, after a battle with medical problems. Vicki was born and raised in Snohomish County. Vicki was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; she will be greatly missed by all of us who love her.

Vicki is survived by her parents Ron and Virginia Jackson; son Josef Bailey and wife Tammie; grand daughters, Kassandra, Ashley, and Marissa; sisters, Lani Carlson and husband Fred and sister Ginger Gahagan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services for Vicki are being held for the immediate family.

Virginia A. Jackson

Virginia A. Jackson, born July 13, 1919 in Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on March 25, 2004.

Virginia, or as she loved to be called "Jimmie" and "Grandma James" is survived by her husband Ron; daughters, Lani (Fred) Carlson and Ginger Gahagan; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; and brothers, Eldon (Phyllis) Ohm and Vern (Betty) Ohm.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Merlin, Wayne, and Glen Ohm; sister Margaret Petersen; and daughter Vicki Jo Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local food bank.

A private family memorial will be held at 9301 61st Ave. W., Mukilteo, WA 98275 on Saturday, April 3rd at 1:00pm.

Walter G. (Wally) Winn

Wally Winn, 56, of Everett, WA, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at Providence Hospital, Everett, WA. Born in Woodstock, IL on August 20, 1947. He was the son of the late Rolland and Marian (Meyers) Winn. He attended Wilmot Grade School and was a 1965 graduate of Richmond Burton Community High School, Richmond, IL.

On August 21, 1982 he married Jeri Peters in Hawarden, IA. He worked at Boeing Aircraft in Everett, WA. He enjoyed football, golf, fishing, reading and socializing with friends. Wally was a very proud and caring man.

Survivors include his wife, two sons; Matthew and Tony and daughter, Jennifer, one brother, Charley of Stockoridge, MA, two sisters; Nancy (Ron) Hackett of Wilmont, WI and Ronda (Bruce) Roberts of Austin, TX.

American burial and cremation of Everett, WA is serving the family.

Celebration of his life to be held April 4th at 1:00pm, Sportys Beef and Brew, Evergreen Way, Everett, WA.

William "Bill" Walter Rose

William "Bill" Walter Rose , 82, passed away March 22, 2004 at his home in Marysville.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA, 425-672-1800.

Adeline Evelyn (Adelyn)

Spinning LaLonde

Adeline Evelyn (Adelyn) Spinning LaLonde, 105, went home to Heaven to be with her Lord on April 24, 2004.

The ninth of ten children, she was born in Sumner, WA on October 10, 1898. Her parents were Frederick Whitworth Spinning and Alma Baker Spinning, Puyallup Valley pioneers. Her grandparents were Dr. Charles Hadley Spinning and Mildred Stewart, Washington Territory pioneers, and William Henry Baker and Sarah Louisa Denny.

Adelyn is survived by the following family members: son: Harold LeLande of Puyallup. Grandchildren: Linda (Dean) Stevens of Lynnwood, Mia (Ed) Rozmyn of Seattle, Ron (Sue) Graham, Stew (Wendy) Graham and Bruce (Kris) Graham of Yakima and Tara Bangsberg of Puyallup. Great grandchildren: Kim (Jim) Pemberton of Duvall, Geoff and Greg Rozmyn of Seattle, Nicole (Greg) Spangler of Newhall, CA, Julie Graham of Chehalis, Heather, Tim, Barbara, Valerie, Sally, George and Peter Graham of Yakima, Laura (Cahnen) Carnagey of Yakima, John Bangsberg of Puyallup, Carolyn (Mike) Brown of Carmel, IN, and Liz (Brian) Lockley of Denver, CO., and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Her husband, daughter and stepson preceded her in death.

Adelyn and her husband James Alva "Jake" worked at King's Garden beginning in 1956, where she was the high school secretary. They owned the white house on the corner of 195th & Fremont Ave N., where Adelyn maintained a yard which was the showplace of the neighborhood. For many years, Adelyn was an active member of Esperance Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and later, a home Bible study.

The family is deeply grateful to the wonderful staff at CRISTA Ministries for many years of loving care.

Services will be held at Esperance Baptist Church on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 2pm. A private family burial was held at Sumner City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to CRISTA Ministries, 19303 Fremont Ave., N., Shoreline, WA 98133.

Albert Salinas

Albert Salinas, 58, of the Spokane Tribal Reservation, died on April 27, 2004.

Albert was born on May 4, 1945 in Asherton, TX. Albert, a Washington native for most of his life will be remembered for being a devoted Christian with a big heart who was generous to all who came across his path. Albert was one of the founders for Casa De Dios Puerta Del Cielo.

He leaves behind a loving wife of 38 years, Maxine; five children, Albertina Solomon, Anthony Salinas, Albertino Salinas, Melissa Gonzalez, Douglas Salinas; 24 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one on the way; three brothers, Raynoldo, Jose, Alex; and three sisters, Lute, Gloria, Elizabeth.

A Wake and Service will be held on Friday night at 5:00pm at the Kenny Moses Building and the Funeral Service will be held at 12:00noon, also at the Kenny Moses Building.

Bernice Mary West

July 3, 1920 - April 27, 2004
The angels sang and summoned her away. She passed away peacefully at home. She was surrounded by her loving family. She is loved, cherished and will be missed deeply.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband William J. West.

She leaves behind her seven children: Darrel West of Everett, Wash.; Kenneth West of Clayton, Wash.; Linda Cook of Moses Lake, Wash.; Richard West of Clayton, Wash.; James West of Houston, Texas; Sharon Johnston of Lake Stevens, Wash.; and Gail Crandal of Standwood, Wash. She has 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held in Lake Stevens.

Diane Nelson

Diane Nelson of Seattle, WA passed away April 27, 2004 after an extended illness courageously fought.

Diane was born October 30, 1948 to Fred and Ann Nelson. She went to school in Port Angeles and Everett, graduating from Cascade High School. Diane attended University of Washington and lived in Seattle many years. She was a unique and independent individual who was greatly appreciated and loved by her family, friends, and related children especially Azura, Kaziah, Mariah, and Kyle.

She is survived by brothers, Stuart and Brian; sister Cheryl; aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. Also special mention to good friends, Edwina and Michael, Randy and Rienata, Ken, Ben, Tim, Lisa and many more.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ann Nelson.

There will be a simple graveside service at Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Everett, to be announced.

Hugh James (Jim) Quinn

Hugh James Quinn (Jim Quinn), of Lynnwood, passed away April 5, 2004 at age 77.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 5:00pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3215 Larch Way, Alderwood Manor.

John Francis Govern

John Francis Govern, 63, a resident of the Big Lake community near Mount Vernon, WA, passed away at his home with his family at his side on Saturday April 24, 2004, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on April 8, 1941 in Kaska, PA, the son of Walter and Sophia Koval Govern. John was raised and attained his education in Pennsylvania and in 1959, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at NAS Whidbey in Oak Harbor. On May 12, 1962 he was united in marriage to Virginia Hoffman in Mount Vernon, WA. John worked at Boeing and continued his education. Leaving Boeing for two years, he achieved a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1971. He retired from Boeing after 33 years of service as a Quality Control Auditor. During those years, John enjoyed the travel, which included multiple trips to England and Japan. He then started his own business, Architectural Wood-crafters, where he enjoyed building cabinets and furniture with his son Jack. He was a member of the American Legion Post 37 in Lynnwood and then transferred to the George Baldridge Post 43 in Sedro-Woolley. John and Virginia retired to their Big Lake property where they built their dream home and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. They recently formed a trucking business, Govern Transportation, with their son Mike, intended to be yet another exciting venture that will continue in his memory.

John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia, at the family home at Big Lake; two sons, John (Jack) Govern and his wife Shari of Sedro-Woolley and Michael Govern of Big Lake; three daughters, Melody Bunce and her husband Steve of Sedro-Woolley, Gwyn Govern of Big Lake and Jennifer Govern of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren, Aileen Fabian, Melody and Heather Govern, Madison and Mac Govern, Tyler, Kyle and Sean Bunce and Sophia Smith; great granddaughter, Kali Mae; sister Louise Conner of Ocean View, DE; and brother Edmond Govern of Pottsville, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and three sisters.

A Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday May 4, 2004 at 2:00pm at the Govern family home, 23519 Garden Street, Mount Vernon. Pastor Dennis Spinnie will officiate. An open house will follow the Life Celebration until 6:00pm.

Memorials are suggested to Big Lake Community Church of the Nazerene.

Cremation arrangements under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
