Nils Gustaf Berg
Born in Sweden on Jan. 4, 1904
Departed on Oct. 8, 1960 and resided in Portland, OR.
Nils Gustaf Berg (Bredsberg) was born to Nils Johan Bredsberg and Kristina Eriksdotter on Januar 4, 1904 in Sweden. He was one of six children. Gus immigrated to the United States in 1925. He first worked in a logging camp in Troy, Idaho. Later he moved to Seattle, Washington and bought a Hygrade Dairy route. It was on this route that he met Elsie A. Hansson. They were married March 24, 1934. They had one daughter, Elsie Ann. They spent most of their married life in Seattle, and then moved to Portland, Oregon. Gus worked for Multnomah Plywood until his death on October 8, 1960. He loved his work, his family, his two granddaughters and woodworking. At the time of his death, his wife Elsie, daughter Elsie Ann and her husband Larry Carpenter, two granddaughters, Lori and Belinda, one sister Margaret, and three brothers in Sweden survived him.
His wife Elsie followed him in death on February 13, 2002.

Phyllis E. Dillon
Born in Kansas City, MO on Apr. 14, 1922

Age 79, was born April 14, 1922 in Kansas City, MO to Edward and Evelyn Joy. She passed away January 28, 2002 in Seattle, WA. Phyllis is survived by her daughters: Joy, Anne, Carol, Amy and Joan Dillon, son John Dillon and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Dillon, daughter Mary Gail and son James Dillon. By her request, no services will be held. Arrangements by Evergreen-Washelli.

George N. Johnson
Born in Astoria, OR on Jan. 27, 1916
Departed on Jan. 18, 2002 and resided in Des Moines, WA.
GEORGE N. JOHNSON, passed away January 18, 2002 in Des Moines, WA., at the age of 85. He was born January 27, 1916 in Astoria, OR., the son of Nestor and May (Eskola) Johnson. George served as a Seattle Police Officer for 25 years, retiring in 1968. He then went onto Head of Security at Todd Shipyards and finally retired as a security guard at Long Acres Race Track. He was an avid golfer at West Seattle Golf Course and was a devoted family man. He served as a wonderful example to his family as to what a husband and father should be. We will remember him and Miss him always. George is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Mary Jane; son Robert Johnson; daughter Pat Leago; son Jimmy (Kelley) Johnson; daughter Lori (Scott) Stubberfield; grandchildren: Karen and Mike Leago, Jeff Johnson, and Tiann, Kelly and Nicholas Stubberfield; and 2 great-grandchildren. At Georges request, no formal services will be held. Memorial contributions are suggested to King County Fire District #26.

Wanda Brown
Born in Iowa
Departed on Jan. 6, 2002 and resided in Lynnwood, WA.
Wanda was born in Iowa. She lived briefly in Canada as a child before she moved to Enumclaw, Washington in the 1920’s. She settled in the Seattle area during the 1940’s. Wanda passed away on January 6, 2002 in Lynnwood, Washington. She leaves behind her son Roy Koval, granddaughter Monique Baker, grandsons Gunnar and Ray Koval; sister Thelma Baker and brother John William Warner. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

William F. Schwarz

Departed on Apr. 9, 2006 and resided in Bothell, WA.

Beloved father, husband of Catherine, passed away April 9, 2006 at Life Care Center of Bothell, WA. He is survived by his children: Fred (Diana) Schwarz, Kathy (Ron) Delmont, Rick (Margaret) Schwarz, and Margie Schwarz, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and niece Dona Westley. His motto in life is "I always try to do the right thing".

William Charles Robertson, Sr.

Was born December 12, 1922. Suvived by his wife Patricia, daugters Susan Abrahamson, Nancy Robertson, Patricia Bradley, Barbara Hutchinson, Ada Young and Carol Molt, sons Bill and Howard Robertson, sister Mae Thompson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ben Jeral Jones
Born in Paris, Arkansas on Apr. 27, 1942
Departed on Aug. 31, 2003 and resided in Bothell, WA.

Born April 27, 1942 in Paris, Arkansas. passed away August 31, 2003. Jerry was a proud alumni of both the University of Washington (Bachelor of Science Degree) and the University of Oregon (Master of Science Degree and Ph. D. in Mathematics). He spent the last 23 years of his career teaching Mathematics at North Seattle Community College, brilliantly and loyally dedicating himself to inspiring his beloved students, and shall remain forever unsurpassed in his ability to assist many thousands of people in conquering their mathematical fears and reaching innumerable personal goals. In addition to his incredible teaching achievements, Jerry’s deep devotion to his pets, immense talent and enjoyment for music, and endless passion for fishing will all suffer from the loss of his attentions. Jerry will be remembered for his perpetual and irresistible sense of humor, his love and pride in his family, and his sincere caring for the well being of everyone in this beautiful world that we all share. Jerry is survived by Lynn, his wife of 41 years, daughter Debbie, son-in-law Rob, granddaughters Jenny and Shelly, niece Bonny, nephews Ric and Dave, and sister Ruby. Jerry was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2003, 3pm until 8pm and Thursday, September 4, 2003, 8am until 8pm at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle. At his request, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Evergreen Hospice Services, Kirkland, WA.

Geraldine FitzGerald Clayton

Born in Seattle Oct 17, 1913. She passed away after a brave battle with cancer on Dec. 21, 2001 in Seattle. Daughter of Thomas F. and Mae Herbert FitzGerald. preceded in death by her husband Paul Clayton, her sister Betty Landes and her dearest brother and sculptor, James FitzGerald of Seattle. Survived by sons Richard Clayton of Mt. View, CA, Tom Clayton of Shine, WA and Steve Clayton of Seattle. She worked for Employment Security in Seattle for many years and was instrumental in working with Steve and Dick in starting the Clayton Aquarium Corporation. A beautiful aquarium has been given to the new Swedish Cancer Institute building in her memory. Viewing at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home on December 27th 2:00-7:00 PM. Naomi Esary McKinney

Departed on Nov. 25, 2001 and resided in Seattle, WA.
Born October 1, 1915 in Lincoln, NE; passed away November 25, 2001 at age 86. Survived by husband, Harry C. McKinney of Seattle; daughter, Sandra M. Koivula and her husband James of Bothell; granddaughter, Katherine M. Johnson and her husband David; great-grandchildren, Kristle VanDenburgh, Angela and Derrick Mobley; great-great-granddaughter, Kallista VanDenburgh, and sister, Dorothy M. Rowley of Seattle. preceded in death by husband, Austin G. Esary. “We will miss you.” At her request, no services. Burial, Acacia cemetery. Memorials suggested to Providence Hospice.

Alice L. Sterling

Alice L. Sterling
Born on January 6, 1914 in Paradise, Montana. She met Cecil, the love of her life in Idaho Falls. After courting for two years, they married . Even after Cecil passed away in 1988, Alice could never stop talking about the love that they shared. Alice has now run away. She is now doing things that her body would not allow her to do in life. She passed peacefully surrounded by those who loved her greatly on November 15, 2001 in her home in Seattle. Alice loved dancing, cooking, fishing, camping, and boating. She had a kind and gentle nature about her, shown through her love of animals. She leaves behind her loving niece Jackie and her husband Bill, their children Heidi, Jim and his wife Vicki, great-great nephew Ryker, and great-great nieces Allyse, Molly, and Jaimie; also her nephew Sterling Young, and his family, brother-in-law Ken Thompson, and numerous family and friends. Thank-you Kalone, Kathy, Maylin, and Sandy for the wonderful care and love that you provided. In Alice’s memory, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society or the Disabled Veteran’s.
Aunt Alice, we will greatly miss your incredible wit, humor and stubbornness. There will never be another like you. You are one of a kind.

Thomas Kent Davis

Age 95, born January 18, 1911, passed away September 10, 2006 of cancer at The Hearthstone Retirement Community. preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle of 55 years and second wife, Dorothy of 12 years. Graduated Roosevelt High School in 1929. Retired after 45 years at Kenworth Motor Truck Co. and Pacific Car & Foundry. Member of University Chapter 32 Royal Arch Masons (High Priest), Nile Temple Shriners and Seattle Amateur Radio Club (K7KPC). Survived by daughters, Karen VandeKamp (John) and Kathryn Tomtan (Paul), grandchildren Paula Quigg (Dale), Bill Follett (Jennifer), Brent Tomtan (Amy) and Brenda Brayman (Brook) and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Hearthstone Transportation Fund or your favorite charity. Private inurnment at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Harry Stith Smith

Harry is the Beloved Husband of Ruth Jane Smith; Beloved Father of Eric D. Smith; Garry D. Smith; Edith Razner; Paige Johansen; and Harry (JR) Smith, Jr. Beloved Grandfather of Matthew Smith; Callie Smith; Jeremy Johansen; Angela Smith; Nicholas Smith; Tara Smith and Zephan Smith and Beloved Great Grandfather of Austin Johansen, Ethan Smith and Gracie Smith. Harry is survived by his brother, Gene Smith, Oregon. Harry retired from Boeing after 35 years and lived in West Seattle for 65 years. His favorite song was Red River Valley and he loved watching WWF Wrestling. Internment at Washelli cemetery, Seattle.

Marjorie I. Bus

Marjorie Iris (Harding) BUS, age 89, passed away in Seabeck, Washington on October 21, 2006. She was born in Seattle on December 23, 1916. Marjorie graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1935. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She was known for her generous laughter and love. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Judy Carter & husband Jerry, of Seabeck; granddaughter, Susan Brooks & husband Steve, of Mountlake Terrace, grandsons, Jeffery Crone & wife Elizabeth, of Florida, Travis Crone & wife Stephanie, of Gig Harbor; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 1964, daughter, Marjorie Higdon in 2002, and sisters, Mildred Lane and Muriel Knowles. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Marjorie’s niece, Cathy Knowles for bringing special joy to Mom’s final years. A private family inurnment service will be held at Washelli cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made in Marjorie’s memory to Group Health Hospice of Kitsap County.

Alice Marie Wolfe
Born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on Apr. 3, 1914
Departed on Oct. 29, 2006 and resided in Bellevue, WA.

She passed away peacefully in Bellevue, WA. Born in Devils Lake, ND to Jarl and Gergina Christianson. Alice married Anselm P. Wolfe in 1939 in Devils Lake, ND. In 1942 they moved to Seattle, WA. She was a beautician at Claire’s Beauty Shop in Devils Lake, ND. In Seattle she worked at Ravenna Metal products, Boeing and Canteen Services. She is survived by her son Allen and her daughter-in-law Victoria. Two grandchildren Lisa (John) Wallace and Tony (Amy) Wolfe. Three great grandchildren Tyler and Larisa Wallace and Paige Wolfe. Her husband, grandson Scott Wolfe, brothers Helmer and Ralph Christianson preceded her in death. Remembrances may be made to Vicky Wolfe’s Service Dog Fund at Paws With A Cause 4646 South Division, Wayland, MI 49348. Private burial at Holyrood cemetery, Seattle.
