John wrote the following words some time ago, and we believe represent a fitting tribute:
We all have many milestones in our lives: Perhaps the most important and valuable one being the call to old age. To leave behind a busy and happy way of life is never easy. I’m finding lately that the days are too short for all the thoughts I want to think, the fish I’d like to catch, the mushrooms I’d like to pick, books I’d like to read, friends I’d like to see, boats to check, etc… I have many happy and grateful memories. I’ve enjoyed the problems and challenges. It’s nice to know that you will be missed and appreciated. Thank you everyone.
Thank you to all our family and friends for your loving support over the years. God Bless.
