Thelma Jo Sleight of Hillsboro, Oregon, formerly of Washougal, died in Portland Nov. 6, 2004. She was 82.

Sharon A. [Moon] Smola, a 23-year resident of Washougal, died Oct. 30, 2004, in Vancouver. She was 52.

Norma V. Toedtemeier died Nov. 2, 2004, in Vancouver. She was 81.

Stephen C. Kennedy
Stephen C. Kennedy died April 3, 2004, in a bicycling accident in Acadia National Park in Maine. He was 63.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, at 5 p.m., at Columbia Presbyterian Church. His ashes will be returned to the earth in a place dear to his heart.
Memorial donations can be made to Columbia Presbyterian Church for medical missions in developing countries.

Charlotte A. Payne
Charlotte Agnes Payne died Jan. 29, 2004, in Vancouver. She was 80.
A funeral service was held today, at Gardner Chapel in Stevenson. Burial followed at Stevenson cemetery. Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas was in charge of arrangements.

Veloise Elizabeth Davis died July 31, 2004, at home in Washougal. She was 96.
A graveside service will be Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the Washougal Memorial cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., at Salmon Falls Chapel. George E. Burres
George E. Burres died Jan. 21, 2004, at Rock of Ages retirement home in McMinnville, Ore. He was 79.
Burres is survived by one son, Darrell Burres of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Brenda Burres and Teresa Burres, both of Yamhill, Ore.; one stepbrother, Donald Elbert Burres of Eureka, Calif.; one sister, Dorothy Margeson of Big Lake, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Willamette National cemetery in Portland.

Stephen C. Daley
Stephen C. “Pop” Daley died Dec. 8, 2003, in Pomona, Calif. He was 81.
A private memorial was held in Palmdale with a cremation/water burial at sea.

Ashley R. Matson
Ashley Rose Matson was stillborn Sept. 28, 2003, in Portland, Ore.
Private family services will be held. Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.

Helen L. Hart
Helen L. Hart died Aug. 8, 2003, at home in Camas. She was 86.
Evening vigil services will be held Friday, at 5 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the church.
The family suggests donations in Hart’s memory be made to Hospice Southwest, P.O. Box 1600, Vancouver, WA 98668.

Robert E. ‘Hub’ Hubbard
Robert E. “Hub” Hubbard died June 13, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 58.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m., at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas, and Sunday, at 1 p.m., at the Camas Moose Lodge, which will be followed by a reception.

Skyler L. Mayer
Skyler Lesli Mayer was stillborn Feb. 28, 2003, in Portland, Ore.
A funeral service was held today at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens cemetery in Vancouver.

Richard C. Jennings
Richard C. Jennings of Camas died Dec. 22, 2002, in Vancouver. He was 91.
At his request, there will be no formal funeral services. Final disposition will be by cremation with inurnment at the Camas cemetery. Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas was in charge of arrangements.

Willliam E. Baumgardner
William Elmer Baumgardner died June 6, 2002, in Vancouver. He was 73.
An his request, no services will be held and his body will be cremated. Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.

Helen M. Walling
Helen Mae Walling died March 22, 2004, at home in Washougal. She was 84.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 26, at 2 p.m., at the Washougal Memorial cemetery. Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dennis L. Jackson
Dennis Lynn Jackson died May 17, 2010, at his home in Vancouver. He was 50.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Lynn Jackson in 2007.
There will be no public service. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas is in charge of arrangements.
