Berghuis, Dana Saturday, 07 Oct 2006
Dana P. Berghuis died Oct. 7 at age 95.
Born Oct. 24, 1910, in McHenry, N.D., he was a 25-year Federal Way resident. Dana graduated from Auburn High School in 1930, the University of Washington in 1937 with a bachelor's in biology, and Oregon State University in 1939 with a master's degree in game management.
His wife of 63 years, Grace Johnston, preceded him in death in April 2006. They had no children. He is survived by brother Ralph Berghuis of Sequim.
A private graveside service will be held at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn where he will be buried alongside his wife.

Gendron, Marianne Montrose Wednesday, 27 Sep 2006
Marianne Montrose Gendron, 67, died at her home in Coupeville on Sept. 27, 2006, following a long battle with cancer.
Marianne was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa., where she attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, receiving her certification as a registered nurse in 1960. She moved to Seattle, where she worked at Valley Medical Center in Renton.
She was married to Frank Montrose Jr. on Oct. 27, 1962, and the couple lived in Federal Way for 20 years.
In 1994, they moved to Coupeville, where she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing the piano and most of all, enjoyed her family and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2001. She was married to Ernest Gendron on June 19, 2004, in Coupeville.
Marianne is survived by her husband, Ernie; daughters and their husbands Michelle Jones (Jerome) of Spanaway, Marianne Rojas (Joe) of Federal Way, Pauline Ornburn (Mitch) of Coupeville and April Johnson (Brian) of Orting; and six grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother and by her parents.
Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church on Sept. 30. Rites of interment followed at Sunnyside cemetery.

Borgeson, Patricia Saturday, 19 Aug 2006
Patricia Borgeson of Lacey died Aug. 19 at age 64.
Born May 11, 1942, in Auburn, she had a long career in the Federal Way School District, where many children learned their first-grade fundamentals from her and also gained patience, love and good manners.
She had requested a modest celebration of life for her family and close friends that is yet to be scheduled.
She also asked that remembrances be made to the charity of your choice or to the Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) scholarship fund so that others could have the resources to pursue the career that she found so rewarding.
Checks should be made payable to "ADK" with a memo stating that it is for the "Pat Borgeson ADK Scholarship Fund."

Weymiller, Carol Monday, 28 Aug 2006
Carol Lynn Minor Weymiller died Aug. 28, 2006, of cardiac arrest.
She was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Sacramento, Calif. She spent her childhood in San Diego and attended San Diego State, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
Carol and her family moved to Federal Way in 1970 and spent 25 years involved in many aspects of the community, from PTAs, junior football associations, sister city associations, women’s clubs and more.
She lived her last 10 years at Sunrise Beach in Gig Harbor.
Carol was an avid baseball fan who attended games for players of all ages and levels, including the Seattle Mariners, and always had a scorebook and pencil in hand.
She is survived by her husband and best friend Al Weymiller of 48 years; her sister Margaret Eckert (Roger); her four sons Allen, Peter (Kathy), Paul (Andrea), Toby (Miako); her six grandchildren Alex, Ben, Theodore, Hannah, Ellie, and Mary Grace; and her beloved dogs Kiki and Mel.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, Carol would have liked donations to be made to a charity of your choice.
At 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, in Gig Harbor, there will be a short service and celebration of Carol’s life.

Campbell, Stanley Thursday, 24 Aug 2006
Stanley Mark Campbell of Federal Way died Aug. 24 at age 92.
Born Jan. 12, 1914, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mildred Spring, of Williamsport, Pa.; eldest son Chester Campbell (1991) and grandson Matthew Campbell (1996).
Surviving are daughters Sandra Wagner (husband Tim), Claire Greenawalt (husband Charles), Betty Krause (husband Mike), and son Stan Campbell Jr. (wife Linda).
He attended Rainier Hills Christian Fellowship and was a retired aerospace machinist. He loved to play golf and fish, and was known as the “Donut Man.” His hobbies were music, dancing and coin collecting.
A memorial will be held at Rainier Hills Christian Fellowship, 23711 Entwhistle, Buckley.

Seibold, Clara Friday, 04 Aug 2006
Clara T. Seibold died Aug. 4 at age 97 in Federal Way.
Born April 27, 1909, as Clara Bond Taylor, she was married to Dr. Herman Rudolph Seibold for 54 years and raised five children: John R. Seibold of Tulsa, Okla.; Robert W. Seibold of Santa Monica, Calif.; Jean Marie Brough of Federal Way; Edward A. Seibold of Elmore, Ala.; and Dr. James R. Seibold of Brighton, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1989. She is survived by her sister, Helen K. Taylor of Tulsa, all five of her children, five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
She had a career in medical research, was active in her church, worked for the blind and partially sighted, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an outstanding Scrabble player, and will be remembered as a loving, courageous woman.
Services will be held in Lafayette, La. Remembrances may be made to Scleroderma Research Fund at the University of Michigan, 3918 Taubman Center, 1500 E. Medical Center Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.

Jackson, Kathryn Betty Friday, 31 Aug 2007 F
Kathryn “Kay” Jackson, 83, passed away peacefully Aug. 31, 2007, after a long battle with COPD and lung cancer. Born in Everett and graduating from Queen Anne High School in Seattle, she had been a Federal Way resident for the past 60 years. Kay loved to read and worked as a librarian for the King County Library System in Federal Way for 30 years. After retiring, she was invited to many of the local elementary schools in Federal Way to give the history of Federal Way and the library. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Warren Jackson. Survivors include daughter, Chris Lashua (Jack), of Enumclaw; sons Jerry Jackson (Penny) of Fircrest, Tim Jackson of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Jacobs, Myron P. Wednesday, 11 Jul 2007 F
Myron P. Jacobs, born April 8, 1941, in Chewelah, WA, passed away July 11, 2007, in Federal Way at age 66.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette; his daughters Lynne and Lisa; son-in-law Brett; grandsons Jeremiah and Justin; his parents Faye and Roy; and siblings Richard, Henry, Bonnie, Les, Betty and Jim; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip.
Myron retired after 35 years of service at Kaiser Aluminum. He enjoyed spending time with his family, helping his grandsons with projects, playing cards and fishing. He was an exceptional gardener who spent countless hours in his greenhouse. He never missed a Mariners game or an opportunity to help others. His friends and family meant everything to him. Myron will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Services will be held 11 a.m. July 16 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Federal Way. There will be a viewing and rosary from 7 to 9 p.m. July 15 at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home in Federal Way.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Aloysius W. Herbers Jr.; daughters Rebecca Herbers and Deborah Klein (Donald); son James Herbers (Magdalena); grandchildren Carl and David Klein; sister Betty Justice; her faithful friends Ruger and Jackie Dee. Patricia Kay (Burton) Clark died July 5, 2007, at age 62. She was born Dec. 21, 1944. She is survived by her mother, two sons, a sister, two brothers and four grandchildren. Pat graduated from Federal Way High School in 1964. She worked as a real estate agent in the Buckley area for 23 years. She recently made Orting her home. Judith R. Jones of Des Moines died June 23 at age 55. She was born July 24, 1951. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie; and children Slade Goodall and Sarah Goodall.

Olive Mayer
Olive J. Mayer, age 85, died Jan. 29 in Federal Way.
Olive is survived by her daughters Laurie Mayer (Robert Hunt), Barbara Archer (Ron), Rochelle Mayer (Todd Johnson ); grandchildren Angela Payne, Michael Denny, Tracy Denny, Andrea Williams, Jason Williams, Harrison Archer, Ryan Archer and Jeremy Briggs; 12 great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Anthony; half-sister, Silver; and a few nieces and nephews.

Debbie Bruch Jahns
Debbie Bruch Jahns, age 51, passed away at her home in Federal Way on Jan. 22. She was surrounded by her loving family and went peacefully.
She was born July 21, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Alvin and Berneice Bruch.
She married Steve Jahns on Nov. 22, 1980, in Tulsa, Okla., then moved to Washington in 1981.
Federal Way became home for Debbie, where she and Steve raised their two girls. Debbie was a 12-year employee in the Federal Way School District where she was a para-educator, office assistant, computer teacher, techie, and most recently a testing coordinator. She was involved in numerous aspects at Federal Way United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Steve; daughters Christine Jahns and Carol Workman; son-in-law Jess Workman; mother Berneice Bruch; sisters Ginny Staggers and Linda Sheffield; brother-in-law Ron Sheffield; five nephews, four nieces and numerous cousins and friends. A memorial service celebrating Debbie’s life was held Jan. 28 at Federal Way United Methodist Church. Donations on Debbie’s behalf can be made to The American Cancer Society, Cancer Relay for Life and Franciscan Hospice.

Rosalynd Brier
Rosalynd Brier died Jan. 15 at Hallmark Manor in Federal Way at age 87.
She was born on April 10, 1919, in DeWitt, Neb. She was a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Nursing. She served in the Army Nurses Corps from 1943 to 1946, participating in the D-Day Invasion, arriving on Omaha Beach on the second day of the invasion.
She will be missed by her nephews Steve, Paul, Steve; nieces, Kathy, Amy and Susan Wingo; sister-in-laws Louee Lightfoot and Pinky Brier; niece-in-law, Marydithe Brier; and numerous great- and great-great-nephews and nieces.
A memorial will take place 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at Kingdom Hall in Federal Way. She will be buried with her mother, father and sister in Dewitt, Neb. Arrangements entrusted to Yahn and Son Funeral Home.

Ray Sisk
Raymond Harold Sisk died Jan. 13, 2007. Born on July 8, 1923, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ray joined the U.S. Coast Guard at age 17 and fought in World War II. Upon serving his time in the military, Ray spent several years on the East Coast and moved out west to California in 1957. It was there that he met his wife of 42 years, Betty.
He had a successful career in the aerospace industry and retired at age 62. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda, son-in-law Warren, granddaughters Sarah and Samantha, brother Jerry, as well as his dear friend Joan and beloved dog Duke. To learn more about services, call (425) 765-7419.

Wintler, Rebecca Monday, 25 Dec 2006 F
Rebecca Ann Wintler, a longtime Federal Way resident, died Dec. 25. She was 80.
She was born May 3, 1925 in Portland, Ore. She graduated from Oregon State College (OSU), where she was national president of the Home Economics Society for one year and a member of Alpha Chi Omega.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carl, of Federal Way; sons, Marty, Ben and Casey; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Dec. 31 at Our Saviour's Baptist Church in Federal Way. A graveside service was conducted Jan. 3 at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
At the request of the family, memorials may be made to the Our Saviour's Baptist Church.

Allis, Connie Thursday, 27 Jul 2006
Connie J. (Holicki) Allis, 65, passed away peacefully at home with her family on July 27.
She was born to Frank and Virginia (Howard) Holicki on March 2, 1941, in Flint, Mich.
She lived near Twin Lakes in Federal Way for 27 years and was buried in Michigan. Services were held at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, Mich.
Allis is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard; one brother-in-law, Al. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, G. Ray Allis; three loving children Caroline, Catherine and Chris (Kris); one grandchild, Victoria; one sister, Janet; and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
