Heather Anne Wilder
Oct. 2, 1966 -- March 11, 2005
Heather Anne Wilder died in her Port Angeles home at age 39. Cause of death is pending.
She was born in San Diego to Thomas Paul and Virginia Jean (Blanco) Welle.
She married Jason Douglas Wilder in Homer, Alaska, on May 19, 2001.
She enjoyed dogs and was a member of the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America.
Her husband and parents survive her.
Services: Today, March 16, at 2 p.m., memorial in Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, 260 Monroe Road, Port Angeles. The Rev. Julie Kanarr will officiate.

Myrna Edith Bowechop
Nov. 2, 1939 -- March 12, 2006
Neah Bay resident Myrna Edith Bowechop died of congestive heart failure in Forks. She was 66.
She was born in Tacoma to William and Lois Frankie (Seeley) Stephenson, and lived in Rainier until 1954, when she moved to Sekiu.
She married Makah tribal member Sidney Bowechop on Aug. 25, 1961, in Forks.
In addition to her husband, survivors include daughters Shawn M. Quinones of Kingsville, Texas; Sheila L. Webb of Milwaukie, Ore.; Leah Bowechop-Canas of Spain and Victoria Stacey Bowechop of Neah Bay.
Also surviving are sons John M. Oliver III of Woodland and David B. Bowechop of Neah Bay; brother Edgar Stephenson of Washington; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Norman, who died at birth, and daughter Moxie Lee Bowechop, who died in 2005.
Services: Today, March 15, noon to 4 p.m., visitation in Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, 105 W. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Funeral on Thursday, March 16, 1 p.m., in Assembly of God Church, Third and Fort streets, Neah Bay. Pastors Andrew Winck and James Kallappa will officiate.
Burial will be in Neah Bay cemetery. Dinner will follow.

William Stanton Hawthorne
June 9, 1950 -- March 4, 2006
Former Port Angeles attorney William Stanton Hawthorne died in Long Beach after a long illness. He was 55.
He was born to James E. and Concepta Eileen (Stanton) Hawthorne in Upper Darby, Pa.
At Eastern Washington University, he majored in music and psychology, after which he graduated from Gonzaga Law School and set up his office in Port Angeles.
He relocated to Spokane, where he was a county attorney, about 2001.
Mr. Hawthorne, who was a member of the Washington State Bar Association as well as a musician and composer, enjoyed spending time in Olympic National Forest.
He married Peggie Shaw in December 1980. They divorced in 2002.
Survivors include sons Graham Andrew Hawthorne and Phillip John Hawthorne, and daughters Katie G. Hawthorne and Molly I. Hawthorne, all of Port Angeles; brothers Andrew Hawthorne and James Hawthorne of Collings Lakes, N.J.; and sister Jane Stevenson of Ontario.
Services: Private family memorial. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge of cremation.

Phillip Clark Nisbet
March 29, 1956 -- March 3, 2006
Former Sequim resident Phillip Clark Nisbet died of heart failure in his Moscow, Idaho, home. He was 49.
He was born in Fort Benning, Ga., to Andrew and Haroldine (Hart) Nisbet, and graduated from the American School of Asuncion in Paraguay.
After serving for three years in the Army, Mr. Nisbet attended the University of Washington, where he receive his bachelor's degree in geology. He received a master's degree in geology from Eastern Washington University.
Before moving from Sequim to Idaho in 1990, he was a Republican candidate for state senator.
He married his wife, Marian, in Port Angeles on July 8, 1960. They divorced in 2000.
Survivors include his former wife; sons Nathaniel Hart, Aaron Francis and Benjamin Andrew Nisbet, all of Moscow, Idaho; his parents of Sequim; brothers and sisters-in-law Andrew and Cecilia Nisbet III of Portland, Ore., and Kevin and Julie Nisbet of Columbia, S.C.; and sister Gwyneth Thurman of Leavenworth, Kan.
Services: A service was held in the Eagles Lodge in Moscow, Idaho. Short's Funeral Chapel, Moscow, was in charge of cremation.
Memorials: Phillip Nisbet Memorial Fund, American West Bank, 600 S. Jackson, P.O. Box 8879, Moscow, ID 83843-1379.

Carlyn Tuckett
March 31, 1932 -- March 12, 2006
Former Port Angeles resident Carlyn Tuckett died of natural causes in Edmonds. She was 73.
She was born in West Point, Ohio, to Carl and Mary Huntington, and spent most of her life in Port Angeles and Sequim. She graduated from Sequim High School in 1950.
Mrs. Tuckett was a longtime employee of Olympic Delivery Service.
She was a 50-year member of the Esther chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, where she enjoyed working with the Rainbow Girls. She later served as State Mother Advisor.
Married and divorced, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law Bill and Lisa Tuckett of Everett; daughter and son-in-law Mitzi and Dennis Christensen of Auburn; brother Bill Huntington of Port Orchard; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services: Friday, March 17, 1 p.m., memorial in the Masonic Temple, Seventh and Lincoln streets, Port Angeles.
Beck's Funeral Home, Edmonds, is in charge.
Memorials: Rainbow Dad's Scholarship Fund, c/o Bob Starowski, 8531 S. 124th St., Seattle, WA 98178.

Jane Ellen Cooper
Aug. 7, 1944 -- March 11, 2006
Jane Ellen Cooper died of esophageal cancer in her Sequim home. She was 61.
She was born in Gadsden, Ala., to Al L. and Jettie Merle (Farabee) Cooper.
Ms. Cooper earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Georgia Southern College in Statesboro and her master's degree in social work from Tulane University in New Orleans.
In addition to working as a hospital field director and a social worker for the American Red Cross in Vietnam, she also worked for the Red Cross in Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia and Louisiana from 1966 to 1978.
Ms. Cooper was head of telecommunications for Pemco Financial Center, Seattle, in 1979-1996, after which she became a freelance wildlife photographer and moved to Sequim in 2000.
She enjoyed keeping track of eagles and the elk herd, was an avid reader and was involved in Democratic Party issues.
Ms. Cooper is survived by brother and sister-in-law Al and Audrey Cooper Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, and sister and brother-in-law Mary E. and David Braun of Bellevue.
Services: No public services. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Hospice of Clallam County, P.O. Box 2014, Port Angeles, WA 98362; or American Red Cross, 281 McCarver St., Port Angeles, WA 98362.

Albert A. Manzie
Dec. 27, 1923 -- March 10, 2006
Albert A. Manzie died in his Sequim home at age 82. Cause of death was pending.
He was born in Chicago to Peter and Bessie (Dolsey) Manzie.
He married Dorothy Jablonski in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Aug. 2, 1943.
During World War II, he was a gunner's mate in the Navy. Between May 1941 and October 1946, he served in the Asiatic Pacific, European and African theaters as well as in the United States.
Mr. Manzie then became a rigger for Republic Steel in Illinois for nine years, after which he joined the Chicago Fire Department.
He retired from the department as a lieutenant after 25 years.
His professional memberships included the AFL-CIO and Chicago Firefighters Union.
He moved to Sequim in 1979.
Mr. Manzie enjoyed woodworking, gardening and trail walking as well as camping and fishing.
He was a Eucharistic minister and usher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Manzie's survivors include son Peter Manzie of Elgin, Ill.; daughter Lorraine Pivarski of Crete, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Edward Manzie, and sisters Frances Doornick, Marie Henderson and Emily Kovacivic.
Services: Wednesday, March 15, 11 a.m., funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple St., Sequim. The Rev. Thomas W. Beattie will preside.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Hospice of Clallam County, P.O. Box 2014, Port Angeles, WA 98362.

Bill Thomas Moree
Nov. 19, 1926 -- March 8, 2006
Nordland resident Bill Thomas Moree died of cancer in Port Townsend. He was 79.
He was born to Niles A. and Mary Jane (Evans) Moree in Brownington, Mo., and grew up in Missouri.
During World War II, he was a private in the Army and was stationed in Yokohama, Japan, in 1945-46.
After his Army tour, Mr. Moree moved to Union Gap, where his parents were living. He worked as a farmer, fruit picker and logger.
His pastimes included listening to ballgames, going to the beach, fishing and reading.
At retirement, Mr. Moree moved to Port Hadlock and Nordland.
He married Shirley May Erickson on Dec. 15, 1952, in Friday Harbor. She died in October 2000.
Survivors include brother-in-law Ray Erickson of Port Hadlock; sisters Dixie Lee Stevens of Phoenix and Ruby Salyer of California; and sisters and brothers-in-law Audra and Roy Wilmoth of Seattle and Mary ``Bett" and Art Wentz of Yakima.
He was preceded in death by sister Maxine.
Services: A family memorial will be held later.
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, is in charge of arrangements.

William Ronald Abendroth
Aug. 27, 1945 -- March 3, 2006
Port Hadlock resident William Ronald ``Bill" Abendroth died in Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, of cancer. He was 60.
He was born in Salem, Ore., to Herbert August and Mildred Valentine (Lopez) Abendroth.
He worked for others as a drywall installer and owned his own Peninsula business, Bill's Dry Wall Co.
In addition to his family and friends, Mr. Abendroth enjoyed music and gardening.
His marriage to Phyllis Hanson ended in divorce.
Survivors include his daughter and her fiancé, Gwendolyn Abendroth and Brian Langmack, both of Port Angeles; daughters Kristie Abendroth and JoAnne Abendroth of Bremerton; daughter Marcie Abendroth of Salem, Ore.; stepdaughter Sherry Abendroth of Bennington, Vt.; stepson Marshall Soul of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother Doug Abendroth of Salem, Ore.; sister Gwen Marr of Colton, Ore.; and eight grandchildren.
Services: Sunday, March 12, noon, potluck celebration of life at 120 D St., Port Hadlock, for family and friends.
Olympic Cremation Association, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
