Longtime Port Townsend resident Donna Lucille Brown died at Jefferson Healthcare hospital at age 65.
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, is in charge of arrangements.

Betty M. Hoffman
Nov. 11, 1923 -- Jan. 21, 2006
Betty M. Hoffman of Sequim died at age 82.
Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.

Devetha Mae Hood
Aug. 14, 1915 -- Jan. 22, 2006
Devetha Mae Hood died at Kah Tai Care Center in Port Townsend of age-related causes. She was 90.
She was born in Piggott, Ark., to Carl Amos and Nell Belle (Hall) Flint, and raised in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She moved to Houston in 1929, where she met Albert Louis Hood while working for Hughes Tool Co. during World War II. They married on Aug. 12, 1950.
Mrs. Hood operated her own hair salon in Houston until retiring to New Caney, Texas, in 1968. She also lived in Pensacola, Fla., and Seattle before moving to Port Townsend in January 2004.
Mrs. Hood was a lifetime member of the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Jim and Barbara Tipton of Port Ludlow; daughter and son-in-law Sheryl and Joseph Vanlandingham of Tupelo, Miss.; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law Jerry and Joy Hood of Fort Worth, Texas; stepson Jack Hood of Houston; stepdaughter Audrey Lierman of Houston; sister and brother-in-law Janette and Willie Garrett of Pensacola, Fla.; sister Nelda Ruth George of St. Louis, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in June 1986. Also predeceased are brothers Eugene Flint and Ray Flint, and sisters Geraldine Massie and Dorothy Hornbeck.
Services: Saturday, Jan. 28, 2 p.m., Northaven Retirement Apartments, 11045 Eighth Ave. N.E., Seattle. Intermment will be in Pearland, Texas.
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Northaven Foundation, 11045 Eighth Ave. N.E., Seattle, WA 98125; or Jefferson Healthcare Hospice, 834 Sheridan Ave., Port Townsend, WA 98368. The family requests no flowers.

Robert Guy McElravy
Aug. 27, 1935 -- Jan. 22, 2006
Port Angeles resident Robert Guy McElravy died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and a brain tumor. He was 70.
He was born in Port Angeles to Charles Guy and Olive Leone (Graves) McElravy.
Mr. McElravy attended the University of Washington for four years, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
He served in the Army at Fort Benning, Ga., as a second lieutenant in the infantry.
He married Sheila Cahoon in Seattle in June 1960. They divorced in 1973.
Mr. McElravy moved to Southern California in 1966 where he worked for Remington Rand Office Systems Division, then bought his own business, a small office products company.
After selling his business in 1985, he went into real estate, specializing in business sales.
Mr. McElravy was a member of the Elks and contributed several years to Boy Scouts of America and the YMCA.
Of all his activities, he enjoyed most the years he participated with Little League and Bobby Sox, and serving as a head coach for Pop Warner football in Fullerton, Calif., for 13 years.
He returned to the Peninsula in May 2005, where he lived with his sister and brother-in-law in Forks until his death.
Survivors include sons Michael and Charles McElravy and daughters Lara Rushton and Kara McElravy, all of California; brother Samuel K. McElravy of Forks; sister Luella M. Pooler of Port Angeles; and eight grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, Jan. 28, 11 a.m., service at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 250 N. Blackberry Ave., Forks. Inurnment at Forks cemetery.
Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.

Steve Alan `Pozy' Pozarzycki
Dec. 20, 1953 -- Jan. 21, 2006
Port Angeles resident Steve Alan ``Pozy" Pozarzycki died in Northwest Hospital in Seattle of heart failure. He was 52.
Services: Celebration of life memorial service and potluck are being planned for Saturday afternoon at Port Angeles Yacht Club. Time to be announced.

Louis Eldon Yehle
Jan. 18, 1924 -- Jan. 18, 2006
Louis Eldon ``Lou" Yehle died at his Chimacum home on his 82nd birthday.
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, is in charge of arrangements.

George Henry Young
April 14, 1933 -- Jan. 20, 2006
George Henry Young died at his Port Townsend home of a brain hemorrhage. He was 72.
He was born in Seattle to Ben and Margaret (Worthington) Young.
A member of the Snohomish tribe, he was raised in Shine and attended school in Chimacum.
Mr. Young married Gladys Nellie Sharratt in December 1958. She died in 1984.
A woodsman, he worked most of his adult life for Crown Zellerbach, retiring in 1983. He was also a commercial fisherman.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sharing his stories with others.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law William and Shella Young of Port Ludlow; daughter Nancy Young of Port Hadlock; daughters and sons-in-law Judy and Rodney Thorsness of Bellevue, Mary and Robert Weidner of Port Townsend and Janet and Franklin Ramsey of Port Townsend; sister and brother-in-law Emily and Ervin Graves of Port Townsend; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services: Thursday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m., funeral at Kosec Funeral Home, 1615 Parkside Drive, Port Townsend. Gene Sharratt, Mr. Young's nephew, will officiate.
Location of the reception will be announced at the service.
Burial will be at Shine cemetery.

Violet Lucille `Torchy' Jones
Jan. 3, 1923 -- Jan. 21, 2006
Violet Lucille ``Torchy" Jones died at Olympic Care & Rehabilitation Center in Sequim of a stroke. She was 83.
She was born to Walter and Bessie Law in Havelock, Neb.
After graduating from Grant High School in Portland, Ore., in 1941, she was a supervisor in the IBM keypunch department at Oregon Shipyards during World War II.
She married Earl L. ``Jonesy" Jones in Collingswood, N.J., on Oct. 30, 1945.
After working for Chevron USA Inc. in California for 27 years, she retired to enjoy golf, in which she celebrated a total of four holes-in-one.
She lived in SunLand for 22 years.
Survivors include her husband; daughter and son-in-law Sherie Lynn and David Wahl of Edmonds; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services: At her request, no services. The Neptune Society, Lynnwood, is in charge of arrangements.

Jane A. Malaney
April 12, 1921 -- Jan. 19, 2006
Port Angeles resident Jane A. Malaney died after an extended illness. She was 84.
She was born to William H. and S. Mildred (Holloway) Martin in Seattle.
She graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle and attended business school.
She married Curtis L. Malaney in Seattle on Feb. 22, 1952.
Mrs. Malaney worked in civil service during her husband's Army career. They lived in Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany, Monterey, Calif., and Fort Bragg, N.C.
The couple moved to Port Angeles after her husband retired from the Army.
Mrs. Malaney worked for the North Olympic Library System in Port Angeles for a number of years before retirement.
She was an accomplished artist and a member of the Clallam Art League, a seamstress and gardener. She was also interested in genealogy.
Mrs. Malaney attended Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Port Angeles.
She had no children of her own, but was very close to nieces Carol O'Hara of Bellevue and Janet Sandquist of Mill Creek.
Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1989.
Services: Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1 p.m., funeral at Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church, 209 W. 11th St., Port Angeles. Burial at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 101 and Monroe Road, Port Angeles. Reception at Queen of Angels Church follows.
Drennan-Ford Funeral Home of Port Angeles is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: North Olympic Library System, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles.

Chlo'e Marie Anderson
Dec. 7, 2005 -- Jan. 20, 2006
Chlo'e Marie Anderson died at Jefferson Healthcare Hospital, Port Townsend, at the age of 44 days. Cause of death is pending.
She was born at the same hospital to Kristy Lynette Hansen and Rockne Marcus Anderson.
Survivors include her parents; grandparents Rick and Dawn Hansen, Roxann Anderson, Patty Patton, Sam May and Tory Anderson; brother Trey Hansen; great-grandparents Margaret E. Porter, Bud and Gloria Hansen; and great-great-grandmother Jan Crutcher.
Services: Visitation was held Sunday. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1 p.m. memorial service at First Baptist Church, 1202 Lawrence St., Port Townsend; Pastor Skip Cadorette and Chlo'e's grandfather, Pastor Rick Hansen, will officiate. Kosec Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kathy Hanks
Jan. 20, 1948 -- Jan. 17, 2006
Kathy Hanks, 57, died at her Sequim home of breast cancer.
She was born in Medford, Ore., to John and Dorothy (Bonnington) McDonald.
She grew up in the Seattle area.
On Sept. 6, 1986, she married Larry Hanks in Lake Tahoe, Nev.
The couple moved to Sequim in 1997.
Survivors include her husband; son Shane Rasmussen of Renton; daughter Shannon Rasmussen of Edmonds; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Diane McDonald of Lynwood; sister and brother-in-law Beth and William Lawsha of Arlington, Texas; sisters Eileen McDonald of Shoreline and Marianne Mayo of Lynwood.
Services: There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
