Depending on what part of Virginia's life you knew her from, you would have known her as Ginny, Vicki or Virginia.
Regardless of the name you called our mom, you knew her as a strong woman with a dry sense of humor. She was a ``straight shooter" and also a classy dresser.
Right now we can hear her reminding us, ``This too shall pass."
We would like to extend a special thank you to all of Mom's personal caregivers at Lindengrove in Waukesha for their loving care and to the Waukesha Memorial ER and 4NW staff who so compassionately cared for mom in her final hours.

Sandy Bailey
Longtime county fair manager Sandy Bailey dies
PORT ANGELES -- Sandy Bailey, 59, manager of the Clallam County Fair since 1983, died Tuesday night after a long battle with cancer.
``She was the embodiment of the county fair, " said Clallam County Commissioner Mike Chapman.
``I personally will miss her greatly. The fair will never be the same.
``Sandy was an incredible asset to the county and she certainly will be missed.
``She put her heart and soul into the fair, making it a great event. She can't be replaced. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family."
Legacy of great fairs
Chapman said Bailey leaves a legacy of making the Clallam County Fair one of the best in the state, winning awards every year from the state Fair Commission.
``I will never go to the county fair again without thinking of her, " he said.
``It was a honor to work with her and an honor to know her."
2005 Fair Board President Carol Johnson said she heard the news of Bailey's death when a group gathered to work on the fair theme for 2006-07.
``I was totally shocked, " Johnson said.
``She just e-mailed me about a meeting next week. Obviously we're devastated to have someone like that go away and not get a chance to say good-bye."
Bailey had just returned from the National Finals Rodeo, held Dec. 2-11 in Las Vegas, she said.
The fair board decided to hold its regular meeting Wednesday because that is what Bailey would have wanted them to do, Johnson said.
But it was a somber meeting, with some fair board members hearing the news just before the meeting started, she said.
Bailey's daughter, Jaymie Van Gordon of Port Angeles, said her mother loved her job and lived it even at home.
``I grew up on a 15-acre farm and we had horses and cows and dogs, " Van Gordon said.
``She was what was considered a superintendent since I was born. She's been fair manager since I was 5."
Van Gordon said her mother didn't want any of them to mention the cancer because she didn't want people to think it got the best of her.
Fair blood in her veins
Clallam County Public Works Director Craig Jacobs said he worked with Bailey directly for 15 years.
The county fair became part of county government in 1991, Jacobs said.
Before that it was managed by a nonprofit association appointed by county commissioners, he said.
Bailey was the association's manager from 1983-91 and before that was involved as a superintendent and volunteer, Jacobs said.
``County fair blood ran deep in her veins, " Jacobs said.
``She was committed to the fair industry and the 4-H and Future Farmers of America programs.
``It was a long tradition for her. She lived that very fully. It was her passion."
Clallam County Administrator Dan Engelbertson said a successor to Bailey hasn't been discussed at this point.
According to family members, services are pending.
