JOHN SIPE
``We'll miss his love, his smile and his laughter, but if we hold on tight to the Lord, we will see him again in the ever after."
John passed peacefully into the arms of His loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 2, 2005, with family by his side holding his hands.
He was born January 10, 1955, in Port Angeles, Washington, to John and Viola Sipe.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Sipe, and grandson Mason Leer of the family home; five children, Michele Morgan and her husband Greg of Sedro-Woolley, Stacy LaCount and her husband Robert of Sedro-Woolley, Cary Sipe of Conway, Clayton Frizzell and his girlfriend Kristen Bennett of Sedro-Woolley, and Mahri Frizzell of Sedro-Woolley.
Grandchildren Jamie, Tyler, Hollie, Corbin, Hazel, Calvin, Bradley, Ayden, Mason and Tony; a sister Mary Haller and her husband Ron of Port Angeles, a sister Anna Vaughan and her husband Doug of Port Townsend; a brother Bill Sipe and his wife Tane of Port Angeles, a sister Dorothy Thrasher of Seattle; sister-in-laws Bobbi Beckham and Denice McLaughlin; brother-in-law David McLaughlin and his wife Nancy; mother and father-in-law, Dolores and Robert McLaughlin; along with four nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Paula Sipe, grandson Ethan Edwards and childhood friend Buck Keyes.
John worked as a logger since his teenage years and had worked for Nielsen Brothers up until January when he became ill with liver cancer.
John's biggest love was his family, his Lyman Baptist Church family and Jesus Christ.
John loved to go fishing and camping. His love of cutting firewood is remembered with smiles by family members.
John was known for his kind heart, his smiles, his laughter and his unconditional love.
John's faith in Christ was seen by all those who knew him. John's hope was that one more life could be saved for Jesus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship, 118 N. Ball St., Sedro-Woolley, at 11 a.m., with a potluck following.
Donations are welcome in the care of John Sipe at any Washington Mutual branch to assist the family.

LISA FAYE BAKER and RICHARD (RICK) HARMAN
Lisa Faye Baker was born November 22, 1963, in Aberdeen, Washington. Richard (Rick) Harman was born October 14, 1963, in El Cajon, California.
They were married February 17, 2001, in Reno, Nevada.
Lisa was a cosmetologist in the Sequim area for approximately 18 years.
Rick was an auto mechanic in the Sequim/Port Angeles area.
They both were Team Drivers for Interstate Trucking Company.
Lisa and Rick enjoyed horses, canoeing, camping, hiking, motorcycling and fishing. They also both loved animals very much.
Lisa is survived by parents, Helen and Don Stoneman of Sequim; Vern and Doris Baker of Mesa, Arizona; her son, Michael T. Johnson, of Reno, Nevada; and sisters Dana King and Sue Stoneman of Port Angeles and Carol Adams of Sequim.
Rick is survived by his mother, Nancy Harman of Fernley, Nevada; daughter Kelly Harman of San Antonio, Texas; sisters Valerie Harman of Prescott, Arizona, Laurie Fiori of Morro Bay, Calif., and Deborah DeForge of Cherry Valley, Calif.
A celebration of life and open house will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2005, 1:30-3 p.m. at the Riptide Restaurant, 380 E. Washington St., Sequim.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society Animal Shelter, 2105 W. Highway 101, Port Angeles, WA 98363.

Gertrude Marion Johnson
Jan. 30, 1923 -- March 7, 2005
Port Angeles resident Gertrude Marion Johnson died of heart failure at age 82.
She was born in Big Lake to Clarence George and Lydia Louisa Grace (Thomas) Dorval.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Port Angeles in 1941.
She married Frank Phillip Johnson in Camus on Nov. 2, 1953.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked as an assistant manager for F.W. Woolworth and Co. from about 1948 to 1955.
She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking on trails and time at the beach.
An excellent seamstress, she was known for making her children's clothes.
Survivors include her husband; son Ronald Johnson of Tacoma; daughters Debra Wilson of Port Angeles and Donna Tupper of Wenatchee; brothers Bill and Clarence Dorval, both of California; sisters Edna Oneel of Joyce and Donna Fraser of Port Angeles.
Services: Thursday, March 10, 1 p.m., funeral service at Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, 105 W. Fourth St., Port Angeles. The Rev. Omer R. Vigoren will officiate. Burial at Ocean View cemetery.
Harper-Ridgeview is in charge of arrangements.

John Knorowski
Dec. 29, 1940 -- March 5, 2005
John Knorowski of Sequim died of heart failure at age 64.
He was born in Elizabeth, N.J., to Andrew John and Helen (Lapka) Knorowski.
He served in the Air Force.
He married Gini Ruth LaBran on Aug. 8, 1969, in Phoenix, Ariz., where he lived for a time.
He worked for the Clallam County Public Utility District for the past 14 years.
Survivors include his wife; sons Eric of Phoenix, and Michael of Simi Valley, Calif; daughters Karen Knorowski of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Kristan Cote of Renton; brothers Andrew Knorowski of Aurora, Colo., and George Knorowski of Phoenix; sister Mary Knorowski, also of Phoenix; and five grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, March 12, 2 p.m., memorial service at Sequim Bible Church, 847 Sequim-Dungeness Way, with Tom Machamer officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone N.C. 28607.

Nathan David Marshall
Nov. 14, 1978 -- March 4, 2005
Port Townsend resident Nathan David Marshall died in Port Hadlock at age 26. The cause of death is pending.
He was born in Port Townsend to David Sidney Marshall and Cindy Lorraine Bradley.
He graduated from high school and was an auto-body worker in Port Townsend.
He enjoyed building hotrods and muscle cars. His interest earned him the nickname ``Musclehead."
Mr. Marshall belonged to the Evangelical Free Church of Port Hadlock.
Survivors include his father and his father's partner, Jan Kemp; mother and stepfather Bill Kelly; brother Dylan Kelly of Port Townsend; sister Michelle Marshall of Port Hadlock; and grandparents Laverne and Roy Hicks of Port Hadlock and Percy and Dorothy Marshall of San Diego.
He was preceded in death by grandmother Annie N. Perret.
Services: Thursday, March 10, 1 p.m., service at Evangelical Free Church, 681 Irondale Road, Port Hadlock. David Hodgin will officiate. Potluck follows at the Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., Port Townsend.
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, is in charge of arrangements.

Elwood Harold `Woody' Newell
Nov. 11, 1922 -- Feb. 25, 2005
Former Port Angeles resident Elwood Harold Newell died in Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia from complications of pneumonia. He was 82.
He was born in Regina, Saschetchewan, to Floyd and Mirinda Newell.
He lived in Port Angeles from 1926 to 1945, and attended Lincoln and Roosevelt High schools.
He married Ruth Lawrence in Bellingham on May 6, 1945. She died on Jan. 28, 2005.
Survivors include sister Ruby Fuller of Sequim.
Services: Saturday March 12, 1 p.m., service at Travel Inn Resort in Elma. Arrangements by American Burial and Cremation Service, Olympia.

Raymond Francis `Red' Norman
May 28, 1919 -- March 6, 2005
Raymond Francis ``Red" Norman died of cancer at his Port Angeles home at age 85.
He was born in Olympia to John B. and Minnie (Arnold) Norman.
He attended school in Olympia and served with the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Norman was a carpenter and piledriver and worked in Nevada as well as in Ferndale, Olympia and Port Angeles. He was a member of the Carpenters and Pile Drivers Union.
He enjoyed traveling and gardening.
He married Olive Leona McBride in Seattle in August 1971.
She survives him, along with sons Jerry Norman of Alaska and Shannon Norman of Idaho, and daughters Wanda Gifford of New Mexico and Donna Norman of Idaho.
Other survivors include stepsons Leon Dechant and Kennith Dechant, both of Port Angeles; stepdaughters Carol Harding and Donna Fogle, both of Arizona; stepdaughter Nancy Morris of Mount Vernon; a brother, Robert Norman of Tacoma; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services: Thursday, March 10, 1 p.m., memorial service at Lighthouse Christian Center, 304 Viewcrest Ave., Port Angeles. A reception follows the service. The Neptune Society of Lynnwood is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Lee Roe
Sept. 18, 1929 -- March 7, 2005
Margaret Lee Roe, 75, of Sequim died after a long illness.
She was born in Albany, Texas, to Mon Richard and Beatrice Pearl (Endsley) Roe.
She attended Texas Christian University and worked for 37 years as a flight attendant for Pan American World Airlines, living in Miami, Arizona and Sequim.
Miss Roe served as a labor contract negotiator for the Association of Flight Attendants in Washington, D.C.
She belonged to St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by a sister, Flo Gibson, a nephew, Blake Gibson, and a niece, Courtney Nelson.
Services: Thursday, March 10, 2 p.m., memorial service at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 515 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim, with the Rev. Robert Rhoads officiating. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joel L. Birkland
Jan. 7, 1922 -- March 8, 2005
Port Angeles resident Joel L. Birkland died of pneumonia at age 83.
He was born to Andrew and Clarice Nickolina (Lund) Birkland in Bottineau, N.D.
His first marriage to Lorrayne Evenson, the mother of his sons, in Moorhead, Minn., ended in divorce.
Mr. Birkland served in the Army during World War II with a hospital unit in Guam.
He married Helen Jane Brown in Bothell, on Feb. 23, 1973.
Mr. Birkland worked as a farmer, a construction worker and a commercial driver.
Among his hobbies Mr. Birkland enjoyed hiking, fishing and hunting, particularly with his sons.
Survivors include his wife, sons Vance Birkland, Gregory Birkland and Shannon Birkland, and four grandchildren, all of Port Angeles
Services: There will be no services. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
