Holler, Anthony Tue, 05 Feb 2002
Anthony Wayne Holler, 46, of Port Orchard died Feb. 5, 2002, in Tacoma.
He was born April 29, 1955, in New Port, R.I., to Walter and Dorothy (Pahr) Holler, Sr.
He married Nina Ramarez July 10, 1982, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard and West High School in Bremerton graduating in 1973.
In the military he attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 1987.
Holler served in the Navy as an E-6 from 1973 to 1983.
He worked as a maintenance electrician for the federal government for 11 years.
Holler is survived by his wife Nina; his parents Walter and Dorothy; daughters Santerra and Santisha Holler, both of Port Orchard; and his sister Donnalee Austin of Port Orchard.
Services will be held at Rill Chapel Feb. 9 at 6 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Bremerton Affiliate.

Howell, Ermelinda Fri, 01 Feb 2002
Former resident of Port Orchard Ermelinda Stadden Howell, 89, a resident of the Port Orchard area for over 20 years, died Feb. 1, 2002.
She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.
Family members include her daughter, Elaine, and son-in-law Art Montalvo of Port Or-chard; son, Stanley How-ell of Penn-grove, Calif.; grandchildren Cynthia Mont-alvo of Belfair; Art Montalvo of Olalla; Deb-bie, Donna, Mark and Jay, all of California; local great-grandchildren David, Brandon, Michael and Rebekah Montalvo, and numerous others in California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo, in 1995.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. Remembrances in her name may be made to the “Memorial Fund” at St. Gabriel’s.
Arrangements by Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor.

Broughton, Jr, Prenters Wed, 30 Jan 2002
Prenters Broughton, Jr, 69, of Port Orchard died Jan. 30, 2002, at his home. He was born May 11, 1932, in Troup, Texas, to Prenters and Janie (Daniels) Broughton, Sr. He married Grace Jabillo May 28, 1989 in Reno, Nev.
Broughton graduated from Stanton High School in Whitehouse, Texas, in 1952 and Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, Calif. From 1952-1977 he served in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant. He had two tours in Korea and two tours in Vietnam.
Broughton retired in 1997 after 16 years as a warehouseman in Fort Ord, Calif., and at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. His main interests were the Disabled American Veteran & Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was a Baptist.
Broughton is survived by his wife, Grace Broughton; six sons and three daughters; sisters Elizabeth Newsome of Lindale, Texas, Mae Ella Green of Troup, Texas, Georgia Brown of Troup, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and 21 grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Rill Chapel Jan. 31, 2002. Services and interment will be at Evergreen cemetery in Tyler, Texas. Arrangements were made by Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Ellison, Sr., Ronald
Ronald A. Ellison, Sr., 63, of Port Orchard, died Jan. 29, 2002, at his residence. He was born July 16, 1938 in Marion, N.D., to Albert and Mildred (Hanson) Ellison.
Ellison graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma in 1956 and from City University in Silverdale in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1976 and served in Vietnam. He retired as a Sgt. 1st Class. He was also employed at Bangor Sub Base as a warehouseman for 20 years. He enjoyed bowling and was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Ellison is survived by his wife Joan; sons Ronald of Port Orchard, Raymond of Belfair and Richard of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter Robin Kasper of Belfair; brothers Vernon Ellison of Yuma, Ariz., and Raymond Ellison of Unionville, Iowa; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday Feb. 2 from 1-3 p.m. at Rill Chapel. Interment will be at Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair. There will be no service with the burial. Arrangements were made by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Champeau, Donald
Donald C. Champeau, 63, a Port Orchard resident since 1975, passed away Jan. 29, 2002.
He was born in Little Chute, Wisc., on Sept. 15, 1938.
He was a retired machinist from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyards and a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Family members include: his wife, Kathleen Champeau, Port Orchard; daughters: Darla Kaufenberg, Spokane; Debbie Hocking and Susan Champeau, both of Port Orchard; and son, Steve Champeau of Port Orchard; brothers: William Champeau of Florida and James Champeau of Wisconsin; sister, Lynn Champeau of Wisconsin; 22 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, April.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, February 2 at Haven of Rest Chapel.
Interment at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Severson, Duane Mon, 28 Jan 2002
Duane Severson, 59, of Port Orchard died Jan. 28, 2002, at Port Orchard Care Center. He was born April 14, 1942 in Roseau, Minn., to William and Myrtle (Moore) Severson.
He attended from South Kitsap High School and served in the Army reserves from 1960-1964. Severson worked 20-plus years as a maintenance person for family rentals. He also played in bands as a drummer.
Severson is survived by his mother, Myrtle Perelli in Port Orchard and his brothers Bill Severson of Minneapolis, MN and LuVerne Severson of Port Orchard. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Darrell Severson in 1981.
Service and interment location was held at Feola cemetery Feb. 1. Arrangements were made by Rill Chapel.

Sampson, Roland Thu, 24 Jan 2002
Roland Frank Sampson, 93, of Port Orchard died Jan. 24, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1908, in Yakima to Own and Mammie (Gibson) Sampson.
He married Helen M. (Smith) Sampson in Yakima on Jan. 26, 1933. She preceded him in death in 1993.
Sampson retired in 1968 after 25 years as a shipfitter at PSNS. His main interest was travel.
He is survived by his sons Raymond D. Sampson, Jay D. Sampson, both of Port Orchard and Seth O. Sampson of Burien; daughters Carol Hiett of Ranburne, Ala.; Gail Coleman of Port Orchard; and, Ruth Roppe of Dayton, Ohio; brothers Bill Sampson of Spokane and Larry Sampson of Rochester; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Sampson was preceded in death by his brother Don.

Hoyecki, Stanley Tue, 22 Jan 2002
Stanley Hoyecki, 77, a former 30-year resident of Port Orchard died Jan. 22, 2002, at his home in Yuma, Ariz.
He was born Nov. 10, 1924 in Somerset, Penn.
He was a retired electronics technician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and served 34 years in the U.S. Navy and Civil Service.
Hoyecki is survived by his wife Belva Hoyecki of Yuma, Ariz.; sons Stanley of Renton and Gael of San Diego, Calif.; daughter Patti Hoyecki of Ore.; brother David of California; sisters Genevieve and Irene of New York; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Hoyecki was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle and brother Vic-tor.
Cremation was by Kammann Mortuary in Yuma. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at the VA cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore.

Ritchie, David Sun, 20 Jan 2002
David Glenn Ritchie, 53, of Port Orchard died Jan. 20, 2002 at his residence.
He was born March 18, 1948 in Fresno, CA to Ralph and Gerry (Lehman) Ritchie. He married Ann (Bulfinch) Ritchie Feb. 13, 1988 in Reno, NV.
Ritchie graduated from McLane High School in Fresno in 1966 and he attended Fresno State University. He also graduated from Southern Illinois University through the Navy at Bangor in 1998.
Ritchie served in the Navy from 1969-1990 and retired as a Senior Chief Machinest Mate. He spent 2 years at Kaiser Aluminum Tacoma as a training consultant and was a Business Manager at PSNS, code 1218 from 1979-1996.
Ritchie was an avid fly fisherman and an aspiring Nascar driver. He was also a member of the Southworth Word of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Ann Ritchie, his parents Ralph and Gerry Ritchie, his stepson Krystof MacBryghde of Tollhouse, CA, daughter Jennifer Jemmett of Ft. Lewis, WA, sister Cheryl Ann Rewnedy of Clovis, CA and 3 grandchildren.
Visitation is Jan. 12, 2002 from 4-7pm at Rill Chapel and Jan. 24, 2002 from 12-1pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints on Mullinex Rd. in Port Orchard followed by a funeral at 1pm. Interment will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements were made by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Champaco, RaeAnn Fri, 18 Jan 2002
RaeAnn T. Champaco, 30, of Seattle died Jan. 18, 2002. She was born April 23, 1971 in Agana, Guam (Naval Hospital) to Ramon and Lourdes (Toves) Champaco.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard in 1990. Her main interests were crocheting and crossword puzzles.
Champaco is survived by her parents, Ramon and Lourdes Champaco; her son, Mark A Champaco; brothers Ramon Champaco, Jr. and Rodney Cham-paco; sister RoxAnn Champaco; sister-in-law Yadira G. Champaco; nephews Jordan and Justin Cham-paco; and grandmother Tomasa A. Toves.
Visitation and Rosary was Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Rill Chapel and funeral will be Saturday Feb. 2, 2002, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Interment at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements were made by Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Paula M. Urban, 38, a Kitsap County resident for 12 years, died June 7, 2002.
She was born in Brockton, Mass. on June 11, 1963. She was a homemaker and her hobbies were cooking, knitting, building puzzles and playing darts.
Family members include her husband Adam C. Urban; children Theresa and Daniel Stone, of Bremerton; step-children Jason Urban of Tri-Cities and brandy Urban of North Carolina; step-granddaughter Jordan Urban also of North Carolina; mother and stepfather Theresa and stanley Shibata of Hawaii; father and stepmother Leo M. and Anne Martinez of Port Orchard; brothers Leo M. Martinez Jr of Omaha, Neb., Alfonso P. Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colo., James A Martinez of Gig Harbor; several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at Haven of Rest Memorial Park, Hwy. 16, Gig Harbor.
