Vicki L. McCue, 54, Port Orchard resident
Vicki L. McCue of Port Orchard died on Feb. 25, 2005.
She was 54.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1950, in Bremerton to James W. and Patricia McCue.
She married in 1969 and was a homemaker and mother. After her children were grown, she worked as a social and healthcare worker for Frances Haddon Morgan.
She is survived by father James McCue; daughters Tammy Lane (and husband Richard) Brinkley, and Rose Marie (and husband Matthew) Chamberlain; son Christopher Lane; brother Wayne McCue; and friend Frank Pretare, all of Port Orchard.
A memorial service was held on March 4 at the First Christian Church of Bremerton.

Brose, Richard Monday, 28 Feb 2005
Richard M. Brose Sr. of Port Orchard died on Feb. 28, 2005, in Bremerton.
He was 81.
He was born on Oct. 14, 1923, in Bemidji, Minn., to Otto and Marion (Till) Brose.
He married Patsy McLeod on Aug. 22, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He graduated from high school in Minnesota in 1940 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviation sheet metal mechanic.
He then worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Puget Sound Naval Shpyard unil his retirement in 1985.
He was an avid horseman and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by sons Bill (and wife Barbara) Brose of Bremerton, Richard (and wife Sherry) Brose Jr. of Winthrop, and Kenneth Brose of Las Vegas; sisters Delores Murphy of Port Orchard, and Marjorie Himelwright; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wis wife, Patsy Brose, in 1994, and by son Douglas Brose.
A graveside service was held at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard on March 4.

Alexander, Bessie Tuesday, 01 Mar 2005
Bessie Leon Alexander, of Port Orchard, died on March 1, 2005, at home.
She was 101.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1903, in Hickmanm Neb., to Howard and Julia (Liesveld) Martin.
She married Harry Ozenbaugh on March 31, 1924, and J.H. Alexander on March 14, 1960.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Prundale (Calif.) Grange for 50 years.
She enjoyed sewing and game shows.
She is survived by her first husband, Harry Ozenbaugh, of San Mateo, Calif.; daughter LaVerne Beltz of Port Orchard; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters Mary, Sadie, Estella and Rosella; brother Ralph; and grandchild Robert.
Services are private, followed by inurnment at Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln, Neb.

Sehmel, Margaret Thursday, 17 Feb 2005
Margaret Ann (Flesher) Sehmel, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 17, 2005.
She was 70.
She was born on April 26, 1934, in Bremerton, to John D. and Margaret E. (Proetz) Flesher.
She graduated from high school in 1952 before becoming a wife and mother.
She worked as a dispatcher for the Department of Natural Resources, then as a bookkeeper at Pacific Coast Evergreen and later as a secretary at Mission Creek Youth Camp until her retirement.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Ann Wilson Children’s Hospital Orthopedic Guild and the “Birthday Club.”
She is survived by sons Bill (and wife Carol) Sehmel of Port Orchard and Jim (and wife Sheri) of Port Orchard; brother John C. (and wife Phyllis) Flesher of Port Orchard; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 25 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.

Giertz, Lorriane Tuesday, 22 Feb 2005
Lorraine Giertz, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 22, 2005, at home.
She was 82.
She was born on March 8, 1922, in Lignite, N.D., to John A. and Thea (Solseth) Moen.
She married Orlander “Al” Giertz in July 1993.
She worked for 30 years as a cook at Myhre’s and was active in VFW Post 2669.
She is survived by sons Richard (and wife Nita) Giertz, of Milton, and Gary Giertz of Puyallup; daughters Colleen Watkins of Port Orchard and Delores (and husband John) Nielsen of Burien; brother Stan Moen, of Port Orchard; sister Eunice Larsen of Port Orchard; and 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
No services are scheduled.

Carlson, Ernest Saturday, 19 Feb 2005
Ernest V. Carlson, a lifelong resident of Olalla, died on Feb. 19, 2005, in Gig Harbor.
He was 89.
He was born in Shelton on May 9, 1915, to J. Victor and Katrina (Bloomquist) Carlson. The family moved to Olalla soon after his birth.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School and became a commercial fisherman. He later worked in the sheetmetal shop at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until his retirement.
He is survived by three nieces and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Carlson and sisters Mildred Krauter and Inge Wilson.
At his request, no services are planned.

Freden, Mary Tuesday, 14 Feb 2006
Mary Freden died Feb. 14, 2006, in Bremerton.
She was 68.
She was born March 19, 1937, in Minnesota to Arnold and Inez Malzahn.
She graduated from Chaska High School in Chaska, Minn.
She married Calvin “Cal” Freden in East Union, Minn., on May 26, 1956.
She worked as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and needle point, and was a member of Christian Life Center in Port Orchard.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and fellow church members.
She is survived by her husband, Cal; son Bradley (Susan) Freden of Everett; daughters Shelley (Dwight) Pauls of Auburn and Karlyn Devereaux of Burien; brothers Ray, Richard, Michael and John Malzahn; sisters Annette Gjesdahl and Sally Beck; and grandchildren Matthew, Kirsten, Landon, Gabe, Laura and Aaron.
A service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Christian Life Center. Burial will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: World Outreach Ministry, P.O. Box 23267, Federal Way, WA., 98093.

Pallo, Jayden Tuesday, 07 Feb 2006
Jayden Michael Pallo, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 7, 2006.
He was four months old.
He was born on Sept. 23, 2005, in Silverdale to Ronnie and Cassandra (Gurganious) Pallo.
He enjoyed cartoons and was the unofficial mascot of the Poor Man’s Bowling League at Hi-Joy Bowl.
He is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Cassandra Pallo, of Port Orchard; and grandparents Mike and Debbie Guganious of Port Orchard and Wayne Patterson of Port Orchard and Rosemarie Lachica of Bremerton.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Feb. 14 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
Remembrances can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank, c/o Jayden Pallo Savings Account.

Wilt, Melissa Friday, 10 Feb 2006
Melissa Joyce Wilt, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 3, 2006.
She was 50.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1955, in Ukiah, Calif., to Marston and Carol Gillette.
She married Steven Michael Wilt in Ukiah, Calif., on Jan. 5, 1974.
She graduated from Ukiah, Calif., in 1973 and from Tacoma Community College in 1992.
She served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1982 as a corpsman and was named the Sailor of the Year award at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C.
She later worked in medical records for 13 years at Harrison Hospital and the Washington State Veterans Home at Retsil.
She attended St. Bedes Episcopal Church in Port Orchard and was a member of Eastern Star and the Rainbow Girls, Port Orchard Lodge, and the Daughters of the King, affiliated with the Episcopal Church.
She enjoyed cooking, church, music, flowers, plants and volunteering.
She is survived by her father, Marston Gillette, of Ukiah, Calif.; husband Steve Wilt, of Port Orchard; daughter Valerie (and husband Timothy) Ungren, of Muskegon, Mont.; brother Jeff (and wife Linda) Gillette, of Eureka, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Feb. 11 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, with burial to follow in Ukiah, Calif.
