Kenneth M. Daniels

April 13, 1923 - Aug. 7, 2009

Kenneth Monroe Daniels, 86, Redgranite, died peacefully Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at his home. A life-long resident of Redgranite, Ken was born April 13, 1923 in the family home in Redgranite, the son of Lloyd and Allie Mae Barnes Daniels. He was raised in Redgranite, and was a 1940 graduate of the former Redgranite High School. Ken served his country in the United States Army during World War II as a mechanic in an Anti-Aircraft Unit. He served in the South Pacific in New Guinea and the Philippines. Following his time in service, Ken worked as a mechanic in Austin Wilcox’s Garage in Redgranite, and was employed as a die caster at Speed Queen Corp. in Omro, and was also a mechanic at the Dahlke-Frasier auto dealership in Poy Sippi. Ken owned and operated the Granite Service Station in Redgranite, where he repaired cars and sold gasoline for 14 years. He was the custodian at the Redgranite Elementary School for a number of years until his retirement. He married Gladys Mae Rogers on Dec. 25, 1985. Gladys preceded Ken in death on Easter Sunday, April 12 of this year, after nearly 24 years of marriage. Ken was a member of the Pine River Congregational Church, the Redgranite Lions Club, and was a Certified ham radio operator. He loved people and animals. “He was one of the kindest hearted people you will ever meet in your life.” Ken and his wife, Gladys enjoyed devoting time to visiting family and friends. He was also a member of the Curve-In Caf», Redgranite, afternoon Coffee Club, where the problems of the day were discussed and solved. Survivors include a daughter, LuAnn (David Thornton) Daniels, Wautoma, four sons, Philip (Maria) Daniels, Lohrville, the twins, Donald (Renee) Daniels, Berlin, and Ronald (Janet) Daniels, Marinette, and Jim Daniels, Mosinee; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Ken is also survived by the mother of his children, Donna Mae Daniels (nee Beckman), Oshkosh; a sister, Marjorie Groth, Oshkosh, and a sister-in-law, Erma Daniels, Maple Grove, MN; his seven step-children, Gloria (Edwin) Davis, Omro, Douglas (Diana) Morrison, Port Barrington, IL, Rhonda (Paul) Nichols, Prior Lake, MN, Richard Morrison (missing since 1977), Roger (Jean) Morrison, Green Bay, Kent (Mary) Morrison, Oshkosh, and Brad Morrison (Dave Bluma), Appleton; his step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, his friend Cathy Zarling, and many other good friends. Ken is also survived by his canine friend and companion, Buddy. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will begin at 12 Noon Saturday, Aug. 15 and continue until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redgranite. The Rev. Dorothy Heckner Mendonca and Lay Pastor Louis Bock will officiate. (The Church is located on the East side of Redgranite, South of Highway 21, across from the Citgo Station.) There will also be a time of fellowship and refreshment following the services at the church. At the conclusion of the Memorial Services, full Military Honors will be rendered at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Redgranite Foster Road cemetery. The family suggests Memorial Contributions to the American Cancer Society in Ken’s memory. The Ruminski Funeral Home of Redgranite is assisting the family with arrangements.

Helen Mae Frost

Aug. 9, 1945 - July 21, 2009

Helen Mae Frost, 76, Princeton, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009 at her home after a brief and courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born on April 27, 1933 in Princeton a daughter of the late Felix and Helen (Kuharski) Kallas. Helen married Donald A. Frost on June 22, 1957 in Princeton. In her younger years Helen was involved with the Girl Scouts of America. She had worked for Handcraft Co., Yahrs, and LoAnns of Princeton. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton and Foresters of the church. She enjoyed shopping, reading, making arts and crafts and was an excellent seamstress. Helen also enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, and spending time with her grandchildren. Helen is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Buzz) Frost-Vahradian, Wautoma, Myra (Chuck) Hartwig, Princeton; grandchildren, Gregory Sommers and Ashley Sommers; great grandchild, Brayden Sommers; sister, Lois Jankowski, Princeton; brothers, Michael (Ginger) Kallas, Princeton, Roger (Elaine) Kallas, Princeton; sister-in-law, Marion Frost, Princeton, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald A. Frost; and brother-in-law, Sylvester Frost. Relatives and friends called on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home in Princeton. A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Mae Frost will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Dale Grubba officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. John’s Catholic cemetery. A memorial has been established to St. Agnes Hospice Hope of Green Lake.

MAE CLEMENTINE PONTZLOFF
April 9, 1919-April 24, 2010

Mae Clementine Pontzloff, 91, Wautoma, passed away April 24, 2010.

She was born April 9, 1919 in Wallace, MI.

She married Raymond Fred-rick Pontzloff on June 6, 1936 at the age of 17 years. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1982.

Together they had five children. The first was Dorothy Ann, who married Dale Oliver Gardner; second was Roy Roger who married Saundra Labodie; the third was Delores Jeanine who married George William Neeb; next born was Dale Allen who remained single; finally the last child born was Sue Lynn who married David Pringle.

Mae is survived by two daughters, Delores and Sue; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three of her children, Dorothy, Roy and Dale.

Mae was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1944 and remained faithful until her death.

A Memorial Service for Mae Clementine Pontzloff will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 4 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Wautoma, with Tim Topping presiding.

NORMAN EDMUND LINDEKUGEL
Aug. 7, 1918-April 19, 2010

Norman Edmund Lindekugel, 91, Pine River, died Monday afternoon, April 19, 2010 at Patriot Place in Berlin, where he had resided since June of last year.

Norman was born Aug. 7, 1918 on the family homestead in the Town of Leon. He is the son of Edmund and Jessie Hanson Lindekugel. He married Edith Graham Wheaton Dec. 27, 1963 in Crown Point, IN. Edith preceded Norman in death Aug. 1, 2008, following nearly 45 years of marriage.

Norman farmed all his life on the family farm in the Town of Leon, which was in the Lindekugel name for almost 100 years. Norman was a life-long member of the Poy Sippi United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler, and was very active in 4-H in his younger years.

Survivors include his sister, Lucille Gates; step-daughter-in-law, Diane Wheaton; step-grandchildren, Sabra, Jodi and Ruth; step-great-grandchildren, Dezaray, Samantha, Nicholes, Kristen, Michael, Joey, Dallas and Courtney; step-great-great-grandchildren, Austin and Cavon; sister-in-law, Marjorie Kempinger; nieces and nephews, Donald (Judy) Rickert, David (Janet) Rickert, Donna Burgett, Judy (Darrel) Fenske, Garry (Darlene) Snell, Gordon Snell, Roger (Therese) Snell, Joan (Lee) Sauer, Mary Ann Chase, Jim (Robin) Gates, Robert and Sherry Gates and Thomas (Cindy) Graham. Norman is further survived by 26 great-nieces and nephews; his special life-long friend, Collin Deppe; his neighbors, and many friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith; step-son, Charles Wheaton; two sisters, Edna Rickert and Esther Snell; three brothers-in-law, Loren Rickert, Herb Gates and Alfred Snell; sister-in-law, Lema Mae Cowling; nephew, Dennis Gates; and a great-niece, Heather Snell.

Funeral services for Norman E. Lindekugel were held Monday, April 26 at 11 a.m. at the Poy Sippi United Methodist Church (W2256 Liberty Street). Rev. George Groves officiated. Norman was laid to rest in St. Margaret’s cemetery in Neenah. Friends called at the church in Poy Sippi from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of services.

A Memorial fund is being established in Norman’s name.

The Ruminski Funeral Home, Redgranite assisted the family with arrangements.

Norman’s family would like send a special thank you to the staff at Patriot Place and St. Agnes Hospice Hope for the care and compassion given to him during his stay there.

We look forward to seeing Norman with Jesus in the resurrection of flesh.

NEAL L. STUEBS
April 24, 1927-April 25, 2010

Neal L. Stuebs, 83, Weyauwega, was called to his eternal rest early Sunday morning, April 25, 2010, at Weyauwega Health Care Center.

Neal was born on April 24, 1927, in Neenah, the son of Lawrence and Daisy (Potratz) Stuebs. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah. In 1945, he graduated from Neenah High School. He then enlisted in the military and served in the United States Navy as a quartermaster during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, Neal attended UW-Oshkosh for two years. On August 27, 1949, Neal married Donna Volkman at Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah. He was employed for a short time by Marathon Corp. as a millworker. In March of 1955, he purchased the family dairy farm in the Town of Fremont from his aunt and uncle, Norma and Henry Kuehl. He ran the family farm until his retirement.

Neal was a member of Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Weyauwega where he served on the church council and held various other positions throughout the years. He also served as director for the following organizations: Farmers and Merchant Bank, Weyauwega Cooperative and the Waupaca County Mutual Insurance Company. Neal was a member of the Weyauwega VFW Post#10407. Neal enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, reading and traveling with friends.Neal is survived by his two sons: Steve Stuebs (fiancée Jean Francart) Weyauwega, and Mark (Pam) Stuebs, Weyauwega; four grandchildren, Ryan (Susan) Stuebs, Sarah Stuebs (fiancé Jeremy Rhone), Stephanie and Seth Stuebs; and four great-grandchildren, Brooke, Makayla, Kendra and Justin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; one brother, Orlie; and one sister, Marvelyn. A Christian funeral service for Neal will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2010, at Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Weyauwega, with the Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Relatives and friends will gather at Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, Weyauwega, on Thursday evening, April 29 from 4-8 p.m. and again at the church on Friday, April 30 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery where military honors will be conducted.Memorials may be directed to Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church “Building on the Rock” program. JEANNE L. MUSCHINSKI
Dec. 27, 1931-April 19, 2010

Jeanne L. Muschinski, 78, Plainfield, passed away Monday afternoon, April 19, 2010 at her home with her children and sisters at her side.

She was born Dec. 27, 1931 in Plainfield, the daughter of Ora and Alda (Crummer) Rowsam. She married William P. “Bill” Muschinski on Nov. 11, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1999.

Jeanne will be remembered for her love and dedication to the community of Plainfield and for being an active participant in Relay for Life. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Plainfield.

She is survived by three children: Sally (John) Zabel, Sandy (Jim) Reblin and Mark (Lynne) Muschinski; four grandsons; four great grandchildren; three sisters: Mavis Johannes, Mary (Robert) Bohn and Lois (Gary) Bohn; a sister-in-law, Janet (the late James) Rowsam; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ardis Nigh; and a brother, James Rowsam.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Plainfield. Visitation was held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

A memorial has been established in Jeanne’s name.

Anthony Charles Mosley
Dec. 5, 1950-May 27, 2010

Anthony Charles Mosley, 59, Wautoma, formerly of Kenosha, entered into eternal rest at his home on Thursday, May 27, 2010, after a long illness.

He was born on Dec. 5, 1950, in Milwaukee the son of Charles and Betty Mosley. He married Janiece King on Jan. 25, 1968, in Clarksville, TN.

Tony attended schools in Kenosha and Milwaukee. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam-era and was a member of the American Legion. He had been employed by the American Motors Corp. until his early retirement, and served as a shop steward for Local 72. Tony loved to trout fish on the Little Pine, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Janiece Mosley, Wautoma; three sons, Dennis, Mike and Steve (Deb) Mosley, all of Kenosha; two brothers, James (Carol) Mosley, Kenosha, and Gary Stern, Fond du lac; six grandchildren, Ashley, Milwaukee, Mike Jr., Wautoma, Corey, Tori, Abby and Steve Jr., Kenosha; special grandchild, Devin and special family friend, Traci; further survived by five nephews, five nieces and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, in the Grace United Methodist Church, Wautoma, with the Rev. George Kafer officiating. Visitation was held at the church. Inurnment will be held in the Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha at a later date.

Eleanor P. Young
March 4, 1921-May 24, 2010

Eleanor P. Young, 89, formerly of Hancock, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at Fountain View Care Center, Ripon.

She was born March 4, 1921 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Martha (Budura) Stance. She married Clifford J. Young on May 8, 1937 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2002.

Eleanor and her late husband moved to Hancock in 1988. She loved being with her family, and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing and going to the casino.

She is survived by five children, Thomas (Adeline “Addie”) Young, Indiana, Darlene Young, Omro, Bonnie Young, Coloma, Becky (Jerry) Bailey, Cary, IL, Rick Young, Omro; six grandchildren, Bob, Laura, Johnny, Peggy, Tommy, and Christine; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, Summer Nicole. She is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Angela; and by a great-granddaughter, Amber; three brothers, Eugene, Tom, Jesse; two sisters, Katherine, and Nettie.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with Sister Mary Ellen Doherty of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Burial was in Hancock cemetery.

Joyce Mary Bengsch
July 29, 1936-May 25, 2010

Joyce Mary Bengsch, 73, Westfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at her home.

She was born in the Township of Warren on July 29, 1936, to Robert and Bertha Thada. She married Eldon Bengsch on July 21, 1956.

Joyce enjoyed driving school bus. She worked several years at Westfield Equipment and Brakebush Brothers, and most recently, as a custodian for the Westfield School District. Joyce was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield.

Joyce loved baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners for the family, playing cards, collecting turtle memorabilia, reading, word search puzzles and going for gator rides.

She is survived by her husband, Eldon; daughter, Carol (David) Lullo, Montello; son, Robert (Cynthia) Bengsch, Montello; stepdaughter, Debra Doherty, CA; sister, Louise Thada, Redgranite; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Bradley Sr., Rebecca and Maveny; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Hubert, George, Lawrence, Carl and Roy.

A funeral service for Joyce was held on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield, with Rev. Ron Riemer officiating. Interment was in Westfield East cemetery. A visitation was held on Saturday at the church.

Jerry Tom Caswell
Sept. 20, 1945-May 30, 2010

Jerry Tom Caswell, 64, Wautoma, died Sunday afternoon May 30, 2010 peacefully at home with his children around him.

Jerry was born Sept. 20, 1945 in Redgranite, the son of Plin and Mabel Soules Caswell. He was raised in Redgranite and was a 1964 Graduate of Wautoma High School. Jerry was a life long resident of Wautoma.

In his younger years Jerry was known for his athleticism. He loved sports, especially basketball, track and football and it showed in his performance. He would fill up the stands and light up the crowd with his quick, unexpected moves. After high school Jerry graduated from barber school and worked in Redgranite. He then served in the United States Army (soldier of the 9th Infantry Division) in the Vietnam War from April 7, 1967 to April 1969.

Following his time in the Army , Jerry was employed at the United State Postal Services for 31 years. Jerry also was a realtor, developer and auctioneer. He was the developer of Two Oaks North Golf Course, which is where he resided. Jerry also was a basketball and baseball coach for Little League and Wautoma Junior High students. After retiring, Jerry spent his time developing a tree farm in Redgranite in honor of his kidney donor.

Jerry had been married to Judi Schley, whom he married July, 1966 in Wautoma. Jerry and Judi had five children, Cory, Natalie, Jackie, Jill, and Jasey. Jerry loved being a father and was so proud of his children. Some of Jerry’s most beloved treasures however, were his six grandchildren: Cooper, Ashleigh, Ellaya, Coby, Conor, and Joey. He loved spending time with them and hearing all their stories. “Grandpa Jerry” will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two daughters, Jackie (Jeff) Kucharski, Cedarburg, and Jill (Ryan) Tetting, Appleton; and a son Jasey Caswell, Wautoma, six grandchildren, Ashleigh, Ellaya, and Joey Kucharski and Cooper, Coby, and Conor Tetting; four sisters, Betty (Ralph) Eannelli, Redgranite, Mamie (the late Glenn) Butters, Ripon, Gloria (Gary) Klug, Waupaca, and Susan (Joe) Moerke, Duluth, MN; two brothers, Robert (Billie) Caswell, Myrtle Beach, SC and Miles (Monica) Caswell, Neenah. Jerry is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Steve Caswell and Tony Caswell; and two children Cory and Natalie Caswell.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. Trinity Lutheran Church, Redgranite, with the Rev. Gregory Sluke officiating. Burial will be in the Wautoma Union cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma and from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church.

Memorials to the UW Kidney Transplant Services would be appreciated: UW Hospital and Clinics Attn: Colleen Fraser 600 Highland Ave. Madison, WI 53792-8350.

Ruby Marie Alverson
July 28, 1927-June 1, 2010

Ruby Marie Alverson, 82, Plainfield, died Tuesday morning, June 1, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at Leikness and Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield. The wake will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 7 with the funeral to follow the next day, June 8, at 11 a.m. with Rev. David O. Leistra officiating.

Marie was born on July 28, 1927, in Selma, NC, a daughter of James Terry and Minnie Batten Corbett. She was married to Carl Alverson on Jan. 25, 1947, in Virginia. Later that year, they moved to the family farm in the Town of Oasis.

Marie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her son, James Alverson and his wife, Diane, Plainfield; four daughters, Valerie Mata, Plainfield; Diane Fabich and her husband, Bill, Plover; Dawn Lucas, Plainfield; and Shelby Chase and husband, Joe, also of Plainfield; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace Harrell, and one brother, John Corbett.
