Darwin R. Wiese
Jan. 26, 1938 – Aug. 1, 2011

Darwin Rudolph Wiese, age 73 of Redgranite, passed away Monday night, Aug. 1, 2011 at Seasons Hospice in Waukesha following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 26, 1938 in Berlin, a son of Rudolph and Irma (Harke) Wiese. Darwin was raised on Big Island, Township of Seneca. He was a 1955 Graduate of the Berlin High School. He was a long-time resident of Redgranite.

He began working at the Chicago Pickle Co. in Redgranite as a forklift operator and warehouse man. When Hawthorn Melody bought the pickle company, Darwin moved into management. In 1971 he purchased the company, which had operations in both Ripon and in Redgranite. He renamed the company the Ripon Pickle Co. He owned and operated Ripon Pickle for the past 40 years. During that time, he became a well-respected icon in the pickle industry. He also purchased a pickle plant in Stockton, CA, which he named Ripon Pacific. He later sold this plant.

Darwin is probably best known for Ripon Pickle in both Ripon and Redgranite. He was instrumental in many young people’s lives by providing them with summer jobs, which enabled them to finance their further education.

He was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redgranite and the Redgranite Area Volunteer Fire Department. Darwin served the Redgranite community as Village Board President and was also a member of the Village Board. He was a member of the Redgranite Economic Development Committee, the Midwest Pickle Packers Association, the Redgranite Lions Club, the Ripon Economic Development Committee, the Berlin Conservation Club, Walleyes For Tomorrow, the Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, and the Wautoma Hornet Booster Club.

In his younger years, Darwin enjoyed playing softball for both City Recreation of Wautoma and Jerry’s Bar and Lanes of Redgranite. He continued playing softball well into his 50’s. He also enjoyed bowling, and hunting with his beloved dogs, Sandy and Bart. In his later years, Darwin enjoyed collecting antiques and going to his granddaughters’ activities. He was very proud of their achievements. He also enjoyed casino trips with his special friend Marjo and others.

Survivors include his daughter: Laurie (the Late Troy) Gustke of Lohrville; his son: Jeff (Pam) Wiese of Redgranite; four grandchildren: Amber, Shelby, and Jordan Gustke, and Kristal Wiese; his special friend, Marjo Hughes of Ripon; 3 brothers, Gordon (Carla) Wiese and Harold (Nancy) Wiese, both of Ripon; and Dennis (Jacqueline) Wiese of Berlin. Darwin is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter: Gail Patsy Wiese; his parents: Rudolph and Irma Wiese; and his son-in-law: Troy Gustke.

Funeral services for Darwin R. Wiese were held Monday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 330 Foster Road in Redgranite. The Rev. Gregory Sluke, Pastor officiated. Following these Services, Darwin was laid to rest in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church cemetery, Fairburn (Town of Seneca, rural Berlin.)

Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite, and then at the Church on Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the time of Services.

Raymond G. Willing
Feb. 25, 1928 0 Aug. 6, 2011

Raymond G. Willing, age 83, of Wild Rose, died on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Feb. 25, 1928 in Chokio, MN, the son of William and Bessie (Clauss) Willing. He married Margene Micheels on Sept. 8, 1951 in Neenah.

Raymond is survived by his wife: Margene; daughters: Wanda (Dean) Genett of Neenah; Sandy (Tim) Leebrick of Kennesaw, GA; Toni (Peter) Hoertsch of Marion; and Penny (Tim) Bausch of Woodstock, GA; a son: Greg Willing of Menasha; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister: Dorothy Witkowski of Menasha. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son: Scot; a grandson: Nick Genett; his parents; his stepfather; a sister: Bernice (Cecil) McKay; and three brothers: Ferd, Erville, and Willard Willing.

Ray had been employed at the Neenah Foundry for 45 years. He had been the Financial Secretary of Local 121 – International Molders & Allied Workers Union for 25 years. He was a former member of the Fox Valley Men’s Club. He was a member of the Wild Rose United Methodist Church. Ray was a loving husband and father; a kind and gentle man. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with friends. Ray had a great sense of humor and always came up with a joke or interesting story to share. He always told his kids he didn’t need gifts; just get him a funny greeting card. He thought sharing time together is better than anything you can buy in a store.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Wild Rose United Methodist Church in Wild Rose with the Reverend Yul Kwon officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 10 – 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in the name of Raymond G. Willing. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.

Christl Weis Burgess
April 20, 1932 – Aug. 7, 2011

Christl Weis Burgess, age 79, of Geneva, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at her home with her family at her side after a seven-year battle with cancer.

She was born April 20, 1932 in Germany, the daughter of Rudolf and Augusta (Roth) Weis.

A meeting in 1953 led to her marriage to Jack Burgess on May 14, 1960 and they made Geneva their home. This was the beginning of their 51-year love story. Christl became a proud U.S. citizen in 1965.

She was a talented person with many interests. A photographer by profession, she enjoyed taking photos of friends, family and the great outdoors, which expressed her love of nature. She was a partner in the family tree farm in Coloma. For years she and the children sold Christmas trees at their home in Geneva. It was at the farm that her cooking and baking were truly appreciated by visiting friends.

Throughout her life she volunteered for many charities to aid her community. She didn’t sit still for a moment, as there was always something to do: taking a walk, talking with friends or tracking the stock market. Although cancer took her life, it could never capture her spirit.

Christl was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva.

She is survived by her husband: Jack; son: Tom (Lindsey) of Geneva; and daughter: Mitzi (Steve) Weiss of Wheaton. She was the best Omi to Brad and Lauren Burgess and Max and Jack Weiss; brother: Franz (Hanne); sister: Helen; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Mizzi; and her in-laws: F. E. and Mary Burgess.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church 1891 Kaneville Rd. Geneva with Father Dennis Morrissy Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Hill cemetery in Geneva.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 4-7 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home 324 East State St. (Rt. 38) Geneva and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass.

The family would like to thank CNS Hospice and care givers Loreta and Lanie for the loving care they gave Christl.

Charles “Moose” Moosbrugger
Oct. 15, 1929 – Aug. 6, 2011

Charles “Moose” Moosbrugger, 81, Wautoma, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at Silver Lake Manor.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1929 in Milwaukee, the son of Charles and Freida (Haase) Moosbrugger. He married Dora Woerner in Tippecanoe Church, Milwaukee on Oct. 28, 1951.

Moose worked as an expeditor for Louis-Alice Company in Milwaukee for many years. Upon his retirement, he and his wife relocated to Wautoma, where he worked for the Waushara County DNR for three years. Moose was interested in cars and enjoyed stockcar racing. He also enjoyed many spontaneous road trips with his family. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Moosbrugger, Wautoma; his four children, Deborah Moosbrugger, Wautoma; Bennett (Donna) Moosbrugger, Waterford; Gerald Moosbrugger, Columbia, SC and Kristina (Eric) Hutchins, Eleva; two grandchildren, Brandon (Dana) Bradley and Hannah (Alex) Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Laylla, Brycen and Phelix Bradley. He is further survived by his sister, Wilma Krueger, one brother-in-law Edward (Carol) Woerner, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, and one brother, Richard.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Crossroads Family Church, Wautoma, with Rev. Dan Carlson officiating.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

The Leikness Funeral Home of Wautoma is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Clyde Jacob Paul

July 27, 1929 – Aug. 7, 2011

Clyde Jacob Paul, 82, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at home surrounded by family. Clyde was born on July 27, 1929 in the Town of Little Black to Harry and Mary (Habermeyer) Paul.

Clyde started to work at Nash Kelvinator in 1948. He joined the Army in 1950. While stationed in Babenhausen, Germany, Clyde met Henrietta Mahr. They were married in Germany Oct. 7, 1953 just prior to Clyde’s discharge.

Upon returning to the states, Mr. and Mrs. Paul moved to Milwaukee where they both worked for American Motors until 1967, at which time they moved to Spring Lake in Waushara County. Here, Clyde filled his time working as a carpenter at Walker Co. until he went into his own business in 1983. Clyde worked for Waushara Home Building Center in Wautoma until his retirement in 1991.

After retirement Clyde was an active member of VFW Post 10992 of Neshkoro and volunteered at the WI Veteran’s Home in King. Clyde was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing on the lake.

Clyde is survived by his wife: Henriettta Paul; daughter: Diane (Paul) Noblitt; and grandson: Jacob Noblitt; his son: Albert Paul and loving friend Niki Bielmeier; sister: Elaine Colby; and aunt: Charlotte Habermeyer. Clyde also has many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Galen Paul; brother: Myron Paul; and sister: Corrinne (Paul) Neitzel.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neshkoro.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Memorials to Mrs. Henrietta Paul are appreciated to help assist with the service expenses.

Esther C. Wandrey
May 31, 1920 – Aug. 4, 2011

Esther C. Wandrey, 91, Wautoma, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 4, 2011, at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma.

She was born May 31, 1920 in the Town of Oasis, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Pagel) Helmrick. She married Elmer E. Wandrey on March 21, 1942 in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1989.

Esther and her late husband farmed for many years in the Town of Dakota. She served as Treasurer for the Town of Dakota and the Waushara County Fair Association. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma.

She is survived by one daughter: Lois (David) Bartel, Wautoma; one son: Dale (Vicki) Wandrey, Wautoma; grandchildren: Aaron (Amy) Bohn, Wautoma; Brian (Lea Ann) Bohn, Galesville; Daron Bohn (friend, Adrienne Smith), Appleton; Ryan Bohn, Plover; Rhea (Bill) Rosenau, Wautoma; and Grant (Melissa) Wandrey, Wautoma; great grandchildren: Barret and BriAnn Bohn, Galesville; Megan and DJ Paeth, Wautoma; special nephews: Richard (Mary Lou) Putskey, LaCrosse; Lawrence (Betty) Timm, Plainfield; and Bill (Wendy) Wandrey, Wautoma. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson: Alan Bohn; two brothers: Walter Helmrick and Arnold Helmrick; and two sisters: Martha Timm and Edith Putskey.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Chaplain Pam Werth officiating. Burial was at Hope Lutheran cemetery in Wautoma.

Visitation was held on Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Matthew Krimpelbein
July 6, 1931 – Aug. 28, 2011

Matthew Krimpelbein, age 80, of Wautoma, passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 28, 2011 at Wild Rose Hospital.

He was born July 6, 1931 in Milwaukee, the son of Heinrich and Eva (Wagner) Krimpelbein. He married Darlene G. Mashock on Nov. 24, 1956 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2001.

Matthew served his country in the United States Army and received the National Defense Service Medal. He then worked for 30 years as a letter carrier in Milwaukee. Matthew was a dog and cat lover and spoiled them as often as he could.

Matthew is survived by four children: Mark J. Krimpelbein; Linda M. Krimpelbein; Laurie A. Krimpelbein; and Daniel L. (Gail) Krimpelbein, Oshkosh; two grandchildren: Amber Marie (Trevor) Eckstein and Julie Lynn; one brother: Heinrich (Delores) Krimpelbein; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 2 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Leikness Funeral Home with a procession and graveside ceremony at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery in King following.

Vivian I. Osinski
June 28, 1924 – Aug. 30, 2011

Vivian I. Osinski, age 87, Waupaca, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at Crystal River Nursing Home under hospice care in Waupaca. She was born June 28, 1924 in Wild Rose, daughter of Griff and Winifred (Lanphear) Davis. Vivian served in the U.S. Navy from July 1944 – October 1945 during WWII. On May 8, 1948, she married Henry “Hank” Osinski at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church – Heffron. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1987. Vivian was a member of the American Legion Post # 370 of Wild Rose. She was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church between Waupaca and Plover in the Town of Buena Vista.

Vivian is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Griff and Winifred Davis; her husband: Henry Osinski; two brothers: Donovan Davis and Gerald Davis; and a sister: Evelyn Steinke.

A Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Hope cemetery in the Town of Belmont. A visitation will be held before the graveside service on Wednesday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

Opal Augusta Noha

Mrs. Opal Noha, 94, passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Healthcare, Racine.

Memorial services will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1400 Warwick Way, on Sept. 11, 2011 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Immanuel Baptist Church have been suggested.
