Morgan, William “Bill”

William “Bill” Morgan, age 84, passed away
Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the Wisconsin Veterans
Home in King, Wisconsin. He was born March 24,
1920 in Eagle River the son of Alfred and Elsa
(Cook) Morgan. Bill was a graduate of Eagle
River High School. He served his country in the
U.S. Army during World War II. Bill married the
former Audrey Selle on January 3, 1943 in
Colorado Springs, Colorado. She preceded him in
death on July 29, 1994.

He is survived by:

A daughter: Jeanne Marie (Dennis) Deis of
Milwaukee

Two sons: James Jay Morgan of Bloomington, IN

Robert Edward (Rose) Morgan of Milwaukee

Three grandchildren: Morris Evan Morgan

Heather Morgan

Melodie Morgan

Nieces, nephews and friends further survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his
wife-Audrey; a daughter – Marie Lee Morgan; and
siblings – James, Edward, Peg and twin Walter.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 PM on
Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Wisconsin Veterans
Home Olson Hall Chapel in King. Chaplain Wayne
Schwanke will officiate. Burial of cremains will
follow at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery in
King. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting
the family with arrangements.

Lillian Bailey

Lillian Bailey, age 90, a long time resident of
Waupaca passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2004. She
was born January 22, 1914 in Waupaca to the late
Herman and Anna Hansen who came to Waupaca in
1913 from Copenhagen, Denmark with six older
children in search of a better life. These older
siblings and one younger brother are deceased.
In 1932 she graduated from Waupaca High School
and worked as a bookkeeper, clerk and waitress
before joining the Navy on June 26, 1944 and rose
to the rank of yeoman third class before being
discharged on September 11, 1945. She tutored
sailors on writing and English skills. After
World War II, she married Edmund “Ned” Bailey on
December 9, 1945 and together they ran a dairy
farm before moving to town in 1958. They were
married 54 years and he preceded her in death.
Lillian loved to read, cook, do crossword puzzles
and watch movies. She was a charter member of
Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church and a past
president of the Riverside Hospital Auxiliary.
The last 8 years of her life she lived at Welcome
Home in Waupaca where she enjoyed the staff and
the care she was given. The family appreciates
the care given by Crystal River Nursing Home at
the end.

She is survived by: Two children: Craig (Kathy)
Bailey and Fred Bailey; and two
grandchildren: Eric (Rachel) Bailey and Sharon
Bailey all of Waupaca.

It was Lillian’s wish to be cremated and her
ashes will be interred at Lakeside cemetery. A
memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday,
May 29, 2004 at the Parfreyville United Methodist
Church. The Reverend John Christianson will
officiate. A memorial will be established for
the Alzheimer’s Association.

Edwin Kropidlowski

Residence: King, formerly of Amherst, WI

July 3, 1924 - May 28, 2004

Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic
Church in Amherst at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June
2nd, with Father Robert Pedretti officiating.
Interment will be in the Wisconsin Veterans
Memorial cemetery, King. Visitation will be held
on Tuesday from 4:30 - 8:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly
Funeral Home in Amherst, with a Rosary Service at
8:00 PM. Visitation also on Wednesday, 1 hour
prior to the service at the church.

Edwin R. Kropidlowski, age 79, of Wisconsin
Veterans Home, King, WI., passed away Friday, May
28th, 2004 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-MacArthur
Hall, King. Edwin was a resident there for 13
years. He was born in the Town of Stockton,
Portage Co. on July 3, 1924, a the son of the
late John and Sophia (Patoka) Kropidlowski.

He entered the U.S. Army in June of 1944 to June
of 1946. He served as a Cpl. in World War II.
He received the American Theater Service Medal,
Army of Occupation Germany Medal, Good Conduct
Medal, and European African, Middle Eastern
Theater Medal. After the service, he was
employed at Preway in Wisconsin Rapids and owned
and ran his own restaurant. He enjoyed fishing,
gardening, being outside and being around people,
bingo, bowling and going to church.

Survivors include: a Daughter: Christine
Somers, Stevens Point; 2 Grandchildren: Jason
Jones, Schofield; Nikki Somers, Nekoosa; 2
Sisters: Verona Groholski, Amherst; Laura
(Hank) Sopa, Wauwatosa. He was preceded in death
by his parents, a sister - Mary Groholski and a
brother - Harry Kropidlowski

Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic
Church in Amherst at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June
2nd, with Father Robert Pedretti officiating.
Interment will be in the Wisconsin Veterans
Memorial cemetery, King. Visitation will be held
on Tuesday from 4:30 - 8:00 PM at the
Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, with a
Rosary Service at 8:00 PM. Visitation also on
Wednesday, 1 hour prior to the service at the
church.

Romaine (Romie) Onken

Residence: Waupaca, WI

July 26, 1934 - February 16, 2005

A Memorial Service will be held in the sanctuary at
Trinity Lutheran Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin at
11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 19th, with
Reverend Dr. Charles Tews officiating. Visitation
will be held Saturday 10-11 A.M. at Trinity
Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial
has been established for the Crystal River Nursing
Home where he was compassionately cared for the
last weeks of his life. Also special thanks to Dr.
Matt Oetken for his care and concern.

Mr. Romaine P. (Romie) Onken, age 70, of
Waupaca, Wisconsin, formerly of Neenah, passed
away Wednesday, February 16th, 2005 at Crystal
River Nursing Home in Waupaca, as a result of a
fall on the ice. Mr. Onken was born in Fulda,
Minnesota on July 26, 1934, he was the son of
the late George and Grace Onken. He graduated
from Fulda High School and attended Mankato State
University and Augsburg College. He married
Leona (Onie) Greenfield on April 17, 1955 and
they were about to celebrate 50 years of
marriage. He worked for Firestone, U.S. Oil and
for the last 25 years in the antique business.
They lived in Neenah for 30 years before retiring
to Waupaca in 1990. Romie was a member of
Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. He loved his
family, everyone he met, sports and antiques.

He is survived by Wife: Leona--(Onie) Onken,
Waupaca, WI;

Three children: Kim (Jim) Elvecrog; Tom
(Michele) Onken; Amy Kron; Four Grandchildren:
Anne, Jane, Kathryn and Karim. One Brother:
Ray Onken, Ottertail, MN; One Sister in law:
Christine Onken, Cherry Hill, N.J. He is also
survived by many nieces and nephews. Romie was
preceded in death by one brother: Douglas and
two sisters: Lily and Ellen. A Memorial Service
will be held in the sanctuary at Trinity Lutheran
Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 11:00 A.M. on
Saturday, February 19th, with Reverend Dr.

Marjorie Hansen

A memorial service was held at the Shepherd of The
Lakes Church in Waupaca on Friday, February 18,
2005 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverends David Martin
and Dean Wheeler, officiating, assisted by Reverend
Emeritus Fred Lueders. Interment will be in the
Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. Memorials are
appreciated to the Shepherd of The Lakes Church
Altar Guild in the name of Marjorie C. Hansen. The
Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family
with arrangements.

MARJORIE C. HANSEN

WAUPACA, WISCONSIN

Age 88 - died on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at
Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on August
14, 1916 in the Twp. of Saxeville, Waupaca
County, WI, the daughter of George T. and Delia
(Evans) Jorgensen. She married Everett Hansen on
June 1, 1945 in the Twp. of Farmington, Waupaca
County. Everett preceded her in death on May 1,
1998.

Margie is survived by her son: Chuck (Lynn)
Hansen of Waupaca, two granddaughters: Holly
(Paul) Clarke of Menomonee Falls, WI, and Ericka
Hansen of Waupaca, two great granddaughters:
Allison and Madelyn Clarke, and a brother: Ben
(Margie) Jorgensen of Waupaca. She is further
survived by many nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death
by her husband: Everett, a grandson: Ryan Hansen,
her parents, and four brothers: Everett, Walter,
James, and G. Lloyd Jorgensen.

Margie was a charter member of the Shepherd of
The Lakes Lutheran Church in Waupaca and had been
very active with the church for many years. She
especially enjoyed her work the Altar Guild. She
had been employed as a Secretary with the Waupaca
School System for 31 years, retiring in 1978. She
had been a member of the Riverside Medical Center
Hospital Auxiliary, and the Waupaca County
Homemakers. She had been a volunteer with the
Meals on Wheels program in Waupaca for many
years. She also enjoyed her time sharing coffee
with her friends at her home.

A memorial service was held at the Shepherd of
The Lakes Church in Waupaca on Friday, February
18, 2005 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverends David
Martin and Dean Wheeler, officiating, assisted by
Reverend Emeritus Fred Lueders. Interment will be
in the Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca.
