Linda L. Smith, age 95, of Waupaca, WI, passed
away Friday, October 19th, 2007 at Riverside
Medical Center in Waupaca. She was born in the
Town of Lind, Waupaca County, on July 29, 1912,
the daughter of Arthur and Helena (Behm) Zabel.
On June 29, 1946, she married Gale Smith in the
Town of Lind. Linda attended Emmaus Ev. Lutheran
Church, Town of Lind. She spent her early years
as a homemaker and later went to work for
Zwickers Knitting Mill in Waupaca. Linda enjoyed
cooking, reading, and traveling.

She is survived by Daughter: Arlene Smith,
Appleton, WI; Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Budd
(Hagara) Smith, Waupaca, WI; Violet (Harold)
Rasmussen, Waupaca, WI and Beatrice Zabel,
Oconomowoc, WI. Linda is further survived by
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, Gale and one brother, Elder.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday
October 23, 2007 at the Holly Funeral Home in
Waupaca, with Reverend William Jordan
officiating. Interment will be in the Hatton
cemetery in the Town of Lind. A visitation will
be held Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of the
service at the funeral home. A memorial has been
established.

Mary T. Hansen

Memorial Visitation will be held Friday 4-8 P.M. at
Jungers-Holly Funeral Home-Amherst and on Saturday
from 10-11 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in
Amherst. Memorial Service will be held at Peace
Lutheran Church in Amherst, 11:00 A.M. on Saturday,
October 27th, with Reverend Dwight Anderson
officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the
Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery in
King, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Mary T. Hansen, age 84, of Amherst, passed
away Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 at Lakeview
Manor in Weyauwega.

Mary was born in Amherst, Wisconsin on February
13, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Lee
Edward and Mabel Tunis (Anderson) Guyant.

She grew up in Amherst and attended Amherst High
School graduating in 1941. She married Louis
Glen Hansen on May 13, 1945 in Stevens Point. He
preceded her in death on March 8, 1998. They
farmed near Amherst until retiring in 1997. Mary
moved to Amherst in 2001. Mary was a devoted
mother to her eight children. She loved spending
time with her family, playing cards and reading
the Bible. She was a life long member of Peace
Lutheran Church in Amherst and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by Sons: Larry L. (Linda)
Hansen, Okauchee, Wisconsin; Timm G. (Rose)
Hansen, Bloomington, MN; Samual D. Hansen, Pasco,
WA; Charles J. (Karen) Hansen, Plymouth; David B.
Hansen, Waupaca; Mark J. Hansen, Amherst; Randal
L. (Peggy) Hansen, Waupaca; Daughter: Judy L.
(Peter) Trzebiatowski, Grant Pass, Oregon;
19-Grandchildren, 6- Great Grandchildren and 1
Great Great Grandchild. Mary was preceded in
death by two sisters: Irene Guyant & Lucille
(Grant) Lutz and three brothers: Herbert-Norske-
(Irene) Guyant, Gerald -Socker- (Ethel) Guyant and
Richard -Dick- Guyant.

Memorial Visitation will be held Friday 4-8 P.M.
at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home-Amherst and on
Saturday from 10-11 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church
in Amherst. Memorial Service will be held at
Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, 11:00 A.M. on
Saturday, October 27th, with Reverend Dwight
Anderson officiating. Interment of cremains
will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans
Memorial cemetery in King, Wisconsin.

The family would like thank the staff at Lakeview
Manor, Portage County CCP, Dr. Charles Rathjen and
Julie Hansen for the excellent care given to Mary
during her illness.

Doris Anderson

A celebration of her life will be held at the
Scandinavia Lutheran Church on Thursday, November
1, 2007 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Mark Sabin,
officiating. Interment will be in the Scandinavia
Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call at the Holly
Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday evening
from 4:00-8:00 PM, and at the church on Thursday
morning from 10:00-11:00 AM. A memorial has been
established in the name of Doris M. Anderson. The
Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the
family with arrangements.

Doris M. Anderson

Scandinavia, WI

Age 75, passed into eternal life on Sunday,
October 28, 2007 at the Crystal River Nursing
Home in Waupaca. She was born on June 17, 1932
in Scandinavia, WI, a daughter of the late
Maurice and Olga (Rasmussen) Thompson. She
married Russell Anderson on September 9, 1950 in
Scandinavia, WI.

Doris is survived by her husband, Russell, a son:
Kent (Robin) Anderson of Scandinavia, a daughter:
Kay (David Forsythe) Anderson of Scandinavia, a
daughter-in-law: Lori Anderson of Iola, six
grandchildren: Sarah Anderson of Madison, Paul
(Katy) Anderson of Byron, MN, Michael (Krissy)
Anderson of Manawa, Amanda (Mike) Anderson of
Waupaca, Kirsten Anderson of Iola and Andrea
Anderson of Iola, and three great grandchildren:
Ryan, Jax, and Mason Anderson. She was preceded
in death by her son: Keith Anderson, her parents,
and a sister: Louise Strand.

Doris and Russell made their home and farmed in
Scandinavia. Doris had a variety of passions
which she pursued throughout her life. Among the
activities she will be remembered are her long
hours and hard work as an active member of the
Scandinavia Lutheran Church. Her gentle smile
and sparkling eyes inspired many hearts as she
taught lessons to her students for over 25 years
in the Kindergarten Sunday School. Doris looked
forward to her involvement in the Hellestad
Circle, Ladies Aide and Bible study. Doris’
culinary skills gave her and others pleasure as
she crafted Norwegian pastries, lefse, wedding
and special occasion cakes and memorable holiday
dinners. In the spring, summer and fall,
gardening helped renew her enjoyment for life as
she tended dutifully to her vegetables and
flowers. The winter months were passed with
sewing, crafting, and crocheting afghans and baby
blankets which were given as gifts for others to
enjoy. Volunteering was an important part of her
life and she demonstrated that with her
involvement in the Church, the Scandinavia Corn
Roast, and the SHARE program. Doris will be long
remembered for her positive approach to life, her
passion for hard work and attention to detail.

George Venzke

Residence: Wild Rose, WI

February 22, 1931 - November 2, 2007

George E. Venzke, age 76, of Wild Rose, WI ,
passed away Friday, November 2nd, 2007 after a
long term illness. He served in the United
States Army during the Korean War. George was a
graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering
and was employed at Rockwell Collins in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa for 28 years. He lived on Little
Silver Lake in Wild Rose for the last 17 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years,
Eve (nee: DiSalvo) Venzke, Wild Rose, WI; Loving
father of Frank G. (Catherine) Venzke, Spokane,
WA; Randy (Amy) Venzke, Dubuque, IA; Jennifer
(Christopher) Cox, Sheboygan, WI. Adored
grandfather of Jacob, Lydia, and Nicolette Venzke
of Spokane, WA, Grace and George Venzke of
Dubuque, IA, Brett, Carlee, and Nicholas Cox of
Sheboygan, WI. He is further survived by three
sisters and a brother.

George was preceded in death by his parents,
three brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at West Holden
Lutheran Church in Wautoma on Friday, November
9th, 2007. A visitation with the family will be
at noon with a service to begin at 1 PM. The
Reverend Todd Murken will officiate. A private
interment of cremains will be held at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been
established to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, *the
little zoo that could*. The Holly Funeral Home
of Wild Rose assisted the family with
arrangements.
