LaVerne Thorpe
LaVerne Thorpe, 89, was born to eternal life on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at a local nursing home. She was born on Nov. 10, 1913, to the late Harry and Anna (Van Iten) Ladrow in Green Bay. She married Edward C. Thorpe on Nov. 25, 1933 in Green Bay.
Surviving are two sons, Lee (Florence) Thorpe of Cedarburg and David (Judi) Thorpe of Green Bay; and grandchildren Dale (Dolores) Thorpe of Mukwonago, Sharon (Mark) Benishek of Cedarburg, Karen Thorpe of Shorewood, James (Doreen) Thorpe of Green Bay, Mark (Sandy) Thorpe of River Forest, Ill., Heather (Chris) Henson of Hartland and Jeff Thorpe of Green Bay; stepgrandchildren Wayne (Mary) Voigt, Darrell (Dawn) Voigt, Debbie (Kim) Meyer, Elaine (Dean) Santos and David Voigt. Also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1993; and a granddaughter, Susan (Thorpe) Saloun, in 2002.
Friends may call at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, corner of Cass and Irwin Streets, on Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Al Lis, OFM, officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel & Mausoleum. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary Ann Webb
Mary Ann Webb, 77, of Green Bay, died Monday February 3, 2003. She was born October 25, 1925, in Green Bay to the late Alvin and Amy (Barrette) Lancelle. On June 1, 1946, she married John "Jack" Webb in Green Bay at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
She will be sadly missed by her loving family, including her husband of 57 years, John "Jack" Webb; her children and their spouses, Amy Unrath, Green Bay, Molly and Craig Darrow, Green Bay, Mugs and Ted Smits, Appleton, Jackie and Jim Scott, Holly Springs, N.C., and Joe Webb, Boynton Beach, Fla.; her grandchildren, Lee Unrath, Selena Darrow, Jake Darrow, Heidi Gallager, Naomi Smits, Joe Smits, Mike Smits, John Scott, Cassandra Webb and Emily Webb, one great-grandchild, Micayla Darrow; her sister and brother-in-law, Regina and Jim Renier, Denmark; and her dearest friend, Mary Ellen Webb.
She was preceded in death by her baby, John; her parents; her brother, Omar Lancelle; and her son-in-law, Ron "Smokey" Unrath.
Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchell officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Milly (Mrs. Norbert) Ver Cauteren
Mrs. Norbert "Milly" Ver Cauteren, 88, longtime resident of Ashwaubenon, joined her husband in eternal rest Sunday February 2, 2003. Milly was born June 27, 1914, to the late Hubert and Odelia (Gaertig) Fonder in Plymouth, Wis. She married Norbert Ver Cauteren on May 25, 1938, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere. Milly was a homemaker and enjoyed spending her summers with Norbert at their place on Grindle Lake. She was an avid Packers fan and season-ticket holder who rarely missed a game since 1939. Milly thoroughly enjoyed game day, complete with tailgating and Old-Fashioneds.
Survivors include her children, Melvin (Brenda) of Courtland, Minn., Mary (Bill) Zentmeyer of Ashwaubenon, and Betty and (Don) Van Gheem of Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Nanette (Bob) Belongia, Kurt (Tammy) Ver Cauteren, Dawn Burns, Brent (Kristen) Rothe, Jill (Patrick) Pogrant, Dean (Mary) Haen, DeeDee (Terry) Klug, Darren Van Gheem and special friend Rhonda, and Randy and Chrystal Van Gheem; great-grandchildren, Brett, Brooke, Kimberly, Jeffrey, Brittany, Jake, Megan, Brannden, Cassidy, Benjamen, Logan, Lauren and Levi; sister Viola Powell; sister-in-law Marie Manders; brother-in-law Joe Ver Cauteren; and sister-in-law Phyllis (Chet) Klarkowski; many nieces and nephews.
Milly was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister Dorothy Brunette; brother Eugene Fonder; and two brothers-in-law.
Friends may call at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, on Tuesday, February 4, 2003, from 4 p.m. until time of service. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the church on Tuesday at 7 p.m. RYAN FUNERAL HOME, De Pere, is assisting the family with arrangements.
