The Funeral Service will be on Friday, August 22 at
11 AM at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home, Amherst with
Rev. Dwight Anderson, officiating. Burial will be
in Greenwood cemetery, Amherst. Visitation will be
on Friday, morning from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral
home.

Doris B. Sitzman, age 56, of Plover, WI, passed
away Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Crystal River
Nursing Hone in Waupaca. Doris was born in
Columbus, WI on April 25, 1952, the daughter of
Lloyd and Pearl (Feldhusen) Schoenwetter. Doris
worked at Amherst Family Foods for many years.
Doris is survived by her children: Darrick Sitzman
of Beaver Dam; Aaron Thorstad of Plover; Andrea
Thorstad of Plover; her mother: Pearl
Schoenwetter of Columbus; her sisters: Shirley
(Larry) Knudtson of Columbus and Jean Pahl of
Columbus and a brother: Gerald (Ethlyn)
Schoenwetter of Columbus. Doris is also survived
by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was
preceded in death by her father, Lloyd and her
soul mate, Donald Thorstad. The Funeral Service
will be on Friday, August 22 at 11 AM at
Jungers-Holly Funeral Home, Amherst with Rev.
Dwight Anderson, officiating. Burial will be in
Greenwood cemetery, Amherst. Visitation will be
on Friday, morning from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral
home.

Mervil Knutson

October 31, 1930 - August 19, 2008
Services: Holly Funeral Home - Waupaca

Funeral Service along with full Military Honors will
be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at
11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 23rd, with Reverend
Jennifer DeNetz officiating. Interment will be in
the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery,
King, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Friday 4-8
P.M. and Saturday 10-11 A.M. at Holly Funeral
Home-Waupaca. A VFW Prayer service will be held at
7:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Mervil H. Knutson, age 77, of Waupaca, Wisconsin,
passed away Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 at his
residence. Mr. Knutson was born in Town of St.
Lawrence, Waupaca County, Wisconsin on October 31,
1930, he was the son of the late Hale J. and
Kitty (Edminister) Knutson.

On July 30, 1951, he married Joan (Babe)
Siemering in Waupaca. Merv was a 20 year retiree
of the United States Air Force. He served during
the Korean Conflict. Merv was a member of VFW
Post #1037 in Waupaca. He was a Waupaca Business
man for over 30 years and enjoyed playing cards,

golfing at Weymont Run, fishing on the Crystal
River, playing pool at the Waupaca Senior Center
and having coffee each morning at Simpsons with
his friends.

He is survived by his Wife: Joan Knutson,
Waupaca; Sons: Michael (Cheryl) Knutson, Berlin;
Wayne (Pam) Knutson, Waupaca; Son in law: Allen
Jensen, Rice Lake; Grandchildren: Tim Jensen,
Rice Lake; Bryan (Leslie) Jensen, River Falls;
Michelle Knutson, Berlin; Melissa Knutson,
Colorado Springs; Tyler Knutson, Antigo; Nicole &
Ashley Knutson, Waupaca; Emily Johnson. Chetek,
WI. Great Grandchildren: Katelind & Nicholas,
Cecelia, Carter & Sophia and Madisen & Makade.
Sister: Ilda (Ken) Lewis, Waupaca; Audrey Pogue,
Kentucky; Brother in law: Bill Cook, Waupaca.
Mervil was preceded in death by a Daughter: Linda
Jensen, Grandson: Tristan Knutson; Sister Donna
Neuman and Sister in law: Leta Cook

Funeral Service along with full Military Honors
will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca
at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 23rd, with

will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial
cemetery, King, Wisconsin. Visitation will be
held Friday 4-8 P.M. and Saturday 10-11 A.M. at
Holly Funeral Home-Waupaca. A VFW Prayer service
will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral
home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been
established.

Margaret Wharton

November 13, 1924 - August 19, 2008

A Memorial Service will be held at the Jungers-Holly
Funeral Home in Amherst at 11 AM on Saturday, August
23rd, 2008, with Father Robert Pedretti officiating.
Interment of cremains will be in the St. Mary
Magdalene Catholic cemetery, Waupaca at a later
date. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday,
from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral
home.

Margaret J. Wharton, age 83, of Amherst, WI.,
passed away on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008. She
was born in Stanley, WI., on November 13, 1924, a
daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Shilts)
Flynn.

She married Robert Allard in April of 1946, he
preceded her in death on December 3, 1973. She
then married Murl Wharten on December 18, 1976.
He preceded her in death on June 8, 2008.

Survivors include 2 Children: Marilyn (Robert)
Miller, Amherst, WI; William Allard, Waupaca, WI;
3 Grandchildren: Jacqueline (Andrew) Grenlie,
Scandinavia, WI; Jon (Claudia) Miller, Sun
Prairie, WI; Bobby (Carmen) Miller, Waupaca, WI;
5 Great Grandchildren: Gunner, Erik & Soren
Grenlie; Ivy & Robin Miller. She was preceded in
death by her husband - Robert Allard, husband -
Murl Wharton, four brothers and one sister.

A Memorial Service will be held at the
Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst at 11 AM on
Saturday, August 23rd, 2008, with Father Robert
Pedretti officiating. Interment of cremains will
be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic cemetery,
Waupaca at a later date. Memorial Visitation will
be held on Saturday, from 10 AM until the time of
service at the funeral home.

Memorial cemetery at King, WI. Military Honors will
also be observed at the cemetery. Friends may call
at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on
Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. The Holly
Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family
with arrangements.

Peter Hurst Gibson

Waupaca, WI

Age 63 – died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 24,
2008 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI.
He was born on August 26, 1944 in Rolla, MO, the
son of Henry and Barbara (Blaine) Gibson.

He is survived by his son; Blaine Gibson of
Waupaca, his mother; Barbara (Blaine) Gibson of
Tucson, AZ, a brother; Alan Blaine Gibson of
Harper’s Ferry, WV, and a sister; Julieann Gibson
of Tucson, AZ. He is further survived by aunts and
uncles. He was preceded in death by his father;
Henry Hurst Gibson.

Peter had attended UW-Whitewater and received a
Bachelor’s degree in Math and Physics from Milton
College. He had served in the U.S. Army during the
Viet Nam War. He had been a member of a Viet Nam
Veterans of America-Chapter W10351 of Appleton,
WI. Peter had been an over the road truck driver
for about 35 years. He most recently had driven
truck for the H.O. Wolding Company in Amherst for
five years before retiring.

A funeral service will be held at the Holly
Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday, August
27, 2008 at 10:00 AM, with the Reverend Jim Bump,
officiating. Interment will be in the Central
Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery at King, WI.
Military Honors will also be observed at the
cemetery. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral
Home in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday morning from 9:00
– 10:00 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI
is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sophia Rowe-Wojtech

Sophia Rowe-Wojtech, infant daughter of Courtney
Rowe and James Wojtech of Waupaca, passed away
Sunday, August 24th, 2008 at St. Michael's
Hospital in Stevens Point.

In addition to her parents she is survived by
Grandparents: Steve & Mary Lee Rowe,
Scandinavia; Vincent & Jan Wojtech, Waupaca; Great
Grandparents: Lucille Wojtech, Waupaca; Ralph &
Jean Tesnow, Ormond Beach, FL; Julian Rowe,
Waupaca; Isabelle Rowe, Weyauwega. She is also
survived by Aunts: Carrie (Sean Gingerly) Rowe
and their children: Lilah & Finnigan of Milwaukee;
Darci (Ross Geurin) Rowe of Milwaukee; Valerie
Wojtech of Seattle and Erika Wojtech of Milwaukee.
Various aunts, uncles other relatives and friends
also survive. She was preceded in death by her
Great Grandparents: Kenneth & Hannah Robbins and
Alexander Wojtech.

Funeral Service will be held at the Holly Funeral
Home in Waupaca at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, August
30th, 2008. Interment will be in the Pleasant
Valley cemetery Town Dayton, Waupaca County ,
Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Saturday from
10:30-11:30 A.M. at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca.
A luncheon will follow the graveside service at
the home of Vincent & Jan Wojtech E894 Tammy
Trail, Waupaca.

Lydia R. Schoenfeldt

Residence: Wautoma

October 11, 1924 - August 25, 2008

Lydia Ruth Schoenfeldt, 83, of Wautoma WI passed
away Monday August 25th 2008 at Wild Rose Manor.
She was born in Milwaukee, WI in 1924, and was
united in marriage to Fred Schoenfeldt in 1942.

Lydia enjoyed many activities throughout her
life, particularly music and art. She was adept at
the piano, teaching for several years, and also
graced many with her beautiful paintings, ceramics
and countless quilts.

She was truly one of a kind; a wise, social and
magical woman who was a great listener and best
friend to countless people. She was also a caring,
selfless mother who loved her family more than
anything else in the world. Throughout life's
challenges she always managed to triumph with a
smile and a laugh. She genuinely cared for and
loved all those she knew.

Lydia is survived by her sons Tom and Jim; their
children, grandchildren, and many extended
relatives as well as special friends Mary, Maggie,
Carol, Judy and Shelly.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband
Fred and daughter Vicki. A private family service
will be held at Zur Ruhe cemetery in Cedarburg on
Thurs Aug 28 2008.

The family would like to thank the staff of the
Wild Rose Nursing Home and Agnesian Healthcare for
making Lydia's last weeks as comfortable and
enjoyable as possible.

Jane Davies

Residence: Green Bay, Wisconsin

February 6, 1941 - August 26, 2008
Services:

A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, August 28 at
5:30 PM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Rev.
Nate Gauerke, officiating. A gathering of family
and friends will be on Thursday from 4 PM until the
time of services at the funeral home.

Elizabeth *Jane* Davies, age 67, of Green Bay, WI
passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at St.
Vincent Hospital. Jane was born in Detroit, MI on
February 6, 1941, the daughter of Carroll (Tom)
and Kathryn (Rogers) Lewis. She moved to Waupaca
in 1944 and attended Waupaca High School, where
she graduated in 1959. She lived in Waupaca the
majority of her life, always close to her family
that she loved dearly. She worked at Riverside
Hospital in Waupaca for several years as well as
the Waupaca Foundry, from which she retired in
2001. She had a beautiful voice, could play the
piano and was a gifted artist. She was an avid
reader, enjoyed watching movies and loved her
crossword puzzles. Never one to make a fuss or
complain about the obstacles life placed in front
of her, she lived her life with love and kindness.
Jane was affectionately known as Nana to her
grandchildren, whom she loved and adored. A
position she held with great pride and joy. She
will be greatly missed by all her family and
friends and will live on in their hearts forever.
Jane is survived by her mother, Kathryn Lewis of
Waupaca; her children: Therese (Daniel) Flaherty
of Appleton; Dan Davies of Appleton; Pete (Sarah
Becker) Davies of Weyauwega; Kathy (Todd
Lauritzen) Davies of Appleton and Matt (April)
Davies of Green Bay; ex-husband: James (Sandi)
Davies of Montello; her siblings: Carole Lewis of
Waupaca; Tom (Mona) Lewis of Racine; Mary Kay
(Dave) Pohl of Waupaca; Mimi (Pat) Meighan of
Waupaca; Patsy Mittelstaedt of Weyauwega; Tim
(Bev) Lewis of La Crosse and Mike (Solange) Lewis
of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Also surviving are
eight grandchildren: Shelby Flaherty, Steven
Ripp-Davies, Alec Flaherty, Sydney Flaherty,
Christopher Ripp-Davies, Jordan Davies, Brennen
Davies and Ella Lauritzen-Davies and numerous
nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by
her father, Tom Lewis and a brother-in-law, Paul
Mittelstaedt. A Memorial Service will be on
Thursday, August 28 at 5:30 PM at Holly Funeral
Home in Waupaca with Rev. Nate Gauerke,
officiating. A gathering of family and friends
will be on Thursday from 4 PM until the time of
services at the funeral home.

All I ask of you is forever to remember me as
loving you.
