Susan A. Zolandz

Susan A. Zolandz, age 91 of 2445 Stanley St. passed away Friday evening April 2, 2010 at St. Michaels Hospital. A mass of Christian burial for Susan will be at 11: 00 AM Thursday April 8, 2010 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. George Thayilkuzhithottu MSFS will officiate. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4: 00 - 8: 00 PM Wednesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, and again Thursday from 10: 00 AM - 10: 45 AM at the funeral chapel. The St. Stanislaus Rosary Society will combine with the General Rosary to be prayed at 6: 30 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral chapel.

Susan was born July 12, 1918 in the town of New Hope, the daughter of Bernard and Veronica (Domask) Kozickowski. She married Steve Zolandz, May 20, 1939at Sacred Heart Church in Polonia. The couple settled in Stevens Point and were at their current address since 1947. Susan was a homemaker, she and Steve raised four children. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, gardening, and had a knack for raising flowers.

Susan is survived by her children: two sons: Robert (Mary) Zolandz, Greenfield and Donald (Phylis) Zolandz, Germantown. Two daughters: Mary Ann (Francis) Pitt, Milwaukee and Charlotte Stahl, West Allis. Nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Two brothers: Joe (Carol) Koziczkowski, Greenfield and Chester (Ramona) Koziczkowski, Menominee Falls. Two sisters: Irene Hintz and Mary Ann Koziczkowski, both of Amherst. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Steve in 1987; and three brothers: Emil, Stanley, and Henry.

The family wishes to Thank Anthony George MD and the 2nd floor East and ICU staff at St. Michaels for the care and comfort they provided their mother.

Robert L. Rowe

Robert L. Rowe, 85, of 832 W. River Drive in Stevens Point, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 5, 2010, at his home.

Robert was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Stevens Point, the son of Lyman and Marie (Jagodzinski) Rowe. He attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1942. He worked at Krogers Grocery before his entry into the United States Navy Feb. 27, 1943, in service for his country. He earned the American Theatre and Victory medals. After his honorable discharge Feb. 3, 1946, from Great Lakes, Ill., he returned to the area and worked briefly again at Krogers and then at Consolidated Paper for a number of years before owning and operating Rowe Trucking and Trenching, and the West Side Service Station until retirement in 1986.

He married Eleanor Ottem on May 9, 1959, in Stevens Point. The couple settled into the home that Robert and his brother built on West River Drive. He enjoyed boating, woodworking and volunteering for Operation Bootstrap.

Robert is survived by his sister-in-law, Elmarie Rowe, Stevens Point; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bette.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor in 1999; and his only brother, Jim, in 2006.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service and burial at 11: 00 AM July 10, 2010 at Guardian Angel cemetery in Stevens Point. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Operation Bootstrap.

Bernadine Doerrler

Bernadine E. Doerrler, age 86 of 215 N. Hillside Road in Custer passed away April 7, 2010 at St. Michaels Hospital.

Funeral services for Bernadine will be held Saturday April 10, 2010 at 10: 00 AM at First Baptist Church in Waupaca. Rev. Larry Gross will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 4: 00 - 8: 00 PM Friday at the Shuda - Plover Family Funeral Home in Plover, and again Saturday morning from 9: 00 to the time of services at the church.

Bernadine was born November 18, 1923 in Chicago the daughter of the late Samuel and Gertrude (Claussen) Fritz. She married Raymond Doerrler December 21, 1946 in Chicago. She and her husband formerly lived on Old Hwy 18, and after his death in 1998 she lived at 1450 Water St.

Bernadine is survived by three sons: Raymond Doerrler Jr, WI Rapids; David (Susan) Doerrler, WI Rapids; Daniel (Kathleen) Doerrler, Milladore. Four daughters: Catherine (Lloyd) Hamann, Custer; Janet (Sam) Reese, Mayville, Michigan; Patricia (Dennis) Quinnell, Wi Rapids; Becky (David) Sutton, Washington, MO. 32 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Plover- Shuda Funeral Service & Crematory assisted the family.

Anong (Pawn) Sonnenberg

Anong "Pawn" Sonnenberg, 58 Stevens Point, passed away peacefully Thursday April 8, 2010 at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services for Pawn will be at 3: 00 PM Sunday April 11, 2010 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, Stevens Point. Aspirus chaplain Dee Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of services at the Shuda Funeral Chapel.

Born" target="_blank">Born in Thailand on October 21, 1951, she came to the United States in 1972. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and trips to the casino.

She is survived by her companion, Jim Firkus, Stevens Point; five children: Judy Liegl, Weston, Anita (Keith) Wiza, Plover; Bill Sonnenberg, Stevens Point, Jamie (Jake) Bailey, Plover; Jennifer Weiler, Stevens Point. Ruth Edwards

Ruth Edwards age 95 of Stevens Point, formerly of Junction City passed away Thursday April 8, 2010 in Stevens Point. Funeral Services for Ruth will be at 11: 00 AM Tuesday April 13, 2010 at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. Rev. Aden Ward will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 PM Monday and 10 -11 AM Tuesday at the funeral chapel. A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established in Ruth's name for Ministry Home Hospice Care.

Ruth was born August 23, 1914 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of Carl and Ida (Anderson) Pearson. She married James F. Edwards on February 5, 1933 in Chicago. The couple settled in the Chicago area until 1950 when they moved to the Central Wisconsin area. Ruth was a licensed practical nurse and worked at the Edgewater Nursing Home in Port Edwards. She belonged to the Kellner and Rudolph Moravian Churches. She was active in the Women's Fellowship in Rudolph. In 1996 Ruth moved to the Edgewater Manor in Stevens Point and in 2006 she resided at the Hi-Rise Manor until the past year where she was at the Portage County Health Care Center. Ruth loved spending time with family.

She is survived by her three children: Norma (John) Gardner, Bourbonnais, IL; James F. (Joyce) Edwards, Mosinee; Linda (Bradford) Barick, Mosinee. Five grandchildren: Susan, Christopher, Jill, Jennifer, and Andrea. Four great grandchildren: Jackie, Justin, John, and Lilliana. Two brothers: Ralph (Bonnie) Pearson, TN; Gerald (Carol) Pearson, ID; Nancy Webster, FL. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Her husband James in 1977, Two brothers: Herman and Carl; two sisters: Doris and June; grandson James Edwards III, great grandsons: James Edwards IV and Joshua Edwards.

Victor Hytry

Victor J. Hytry, age 84 of 3626 E. Maria Dr. Stevens Point passed away Sunday April 11, 2010 at St. Michaels Hospital. A mass of Christian Burial for Victor will be held at 10: 30 AM Friday April 16, 2010 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. George Thayilkuzhithottu MSFS will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday and from 9: 30 - 10: 15 AM Friday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7: 00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral chapel. A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established.

Vic was born October 7, 1925 in Stevens Point, the son of Frank and Hedwig (Wirth) Hytry. After attending local schools, he married Lorraine Radomski, on June 18, 1949 at St. Stanislaus Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point, and Vic worked for Consolidated Paper for 42 years retiring in 1987. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, he enjoyed woodworking, playing horseshoe, pool, card playing and gardening, after retirement he enjoyed spending much deserved time with his children and grandchildren. In later years he became an accomplished winemaker. He volunteered for years at the Lincoln Center and S.H.A.R.E. Program.

Vic is survived by his wife of 60 years Lorraine; and their six daughters: Sandie Allen, Amherst; Kathy (Dennis) Laska, Winneconne; Cherie (Gary) Evans, Amherst; Lori (Gary) Downhour, Tacoma, WA; Darcy (Michael) Pierce, Stevens Point; Krista (Jay) Yenter, California, KY. Nine grandchildren: Heather, Jake, Sam, Colin, Tia, Paige, Garth, Tanner, and Alexia. Three great-grandchildren: Westin, Cameron, and Elliot. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael John; 2 son-in-laws; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

James Ogren

James M. Ogren age 42 of Plover, passed away Sunday April 11, 2010 at his home. A prayer service for James will be held at 7: 00 PM Wednesday April 14, 2010 at the Plover - Shuda Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Plover. Pastoral Associate Dwaine Habrat will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 Pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

James was born July 1, 1967 in Chicago, the son of James and Patricia (Maioriello) Ogren. After graduating high school he worked various jobs, before moving to the Plover area in 1998. He was employed at Coca Cola of Plover.

James is survived by his two children: Thomas Ogren and Catherine Ogren of Plover. His parents: James and Patricia Ogren, Western Springs, IL. Maternal grandparents: Al and Janet Marioriello, Berwyn, IL; His sister Kimberly (Richard) Faulk, St. Charles, IL; three nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.

A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established.

Gregory N. Tepp

Gregory N. Tepp, age 84 of 261 N. Oak Rd, Custer, died Thursday April 14, 2010 at Sylvan Crossings where he has resided since December.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10: 30AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Custer. The Rev. Rajen Anandan will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4-8PM on Friday and at the church from 9:30 AM until the services on saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 6PM on Friday at the Funeral Chapel.

Greg was born on August 13, l925 in Stevens Point, the son of the late Frank & Katherine (Knapp) Tepp. He attended local schools and went to work at Consolidated Papers WRD in 1946. He retired as a machine tender in 1990. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, card playing and going to casino's.

Greg married Bernadine Jurgella on April 23, l947 at St Stanislaus Catholic Church. She survives along with one daughter Barbara (Robert) Flateau of Stevens Point--five sons Thomas (Cynthia) and Douglas of Stevens Point--Robert (Marilyn) and Dennis of Custer and Kevin (Mary) of Plover---6 grandchildren-Pamela--Kenneth--Holly--Lance--Kory & Kim---Seven Great-grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Jr. and three brothers--George--Paul & Jim

Carl E. Dickerson Jr.

Carl E. Dickerson Jr, age 54 of Plover passed away April 15, 2010 at his home. Private family funeral services were held. Shuda Family Funeral Service & Crematory of Plover and Stevens Point assisted the family.

Carl was born October 7, 1955 in Hartford City, IN. The son of Carl and Asondra (Hoheimer) Dickerson. He married Johniece Ann Thinnes September 17, 1977 in Indiana. The couple moved to the Portage County area in 1988. Carl loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing on the Wisconsin River. He will be sadly missed by the family he loved.

He is survived by his wife Johniece Ann, Plover; two daughters: Carlisha Ann Thinnes, Gas City, IN and Dylana (Kyle) Maas, Wisconsin Rapids. Son Carl (Amber) Dickerson III, Appleton. His mother Asondra, IN; two brothers: Terry Al Dickerson and Clayton M. Dickerson, both of Indiana. Five grandchildren.

Lucille Stanczyk

Lucille Stanczyk, age 95 of Stevens Point passed away Wednesday morning April 21, 2010 at North Crest Assisted Living, under the care of Ministry Home Hospice. Funeral services for Lucille will be held at 11: 00 AM Friday April 23, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Al Burkhardt will officiate. Burial will be at the Guardian Angel cemetery. Visitation will be from 9: 30 - 10: 45 AM Friday at the church. The St. Stanislaus Rosary Society will pray a rosary for Lucille at 9: 00 AM Friday morning at St Joseph Church. Shuda Funeral Service of Stevens Point & Plover is assisting the family. A memorial in lieu of flowers is appreciated.

Lucille was born May 28, 1914 in Plover, the daughter of Adam and Katheryn (Konkol) Skrzypkowski. She attended school in Plover, Lucille married Alois Stanczyk September 6, 1933 at St Bronislava Catholic Church. She was a full-time homemaker, baker, cook, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Lucille was a giver, she found joy in giving and enjoyed seeing the happiness it instilled in others. She loved making quilts and made sure all her loved ones got one. Lucille also enjoyed gardening, canning, and giving boxes of homemade cookies to family and friends. She was a self taught furniture upholsterer. She was a proud 50 year member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society.

Lucille is survived by her daughter: Marcine (Jim) Laska, Stevens Point; her son: Gerald (Shelby) Stanczyk, Rudolph. Daughter-in-law, Valerie (Bob) Stanzcyk, Custer. 10 grandchildren: Jess, David, Penny, Willie, Dale, Jason, Christel, Trevis, Tyler, Tad, and many great grandchildren. Three step grandchildren: Jackie, Dennis, Tony. Two brothers: Stanley Skrzypkowski, Plover and Chester Skippy, Plover. Two sisters: Delores Duda, Stevens Point and Jean Wayerski, Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alois in 1983, son Robert in 2005, infant daughter Mary Jane in 1947; four brothers and three sisters.

Helen Becker

Helen Becker, age 93, died Thursday April 22, 2010 at the Portage County Health Care Center where she has resided since 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Monday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. The Rev. Donald Minnick will officiate, Burial will be in Forest cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7PM on Sunday and again after 9AM on Monday at the Funeral Chapel.

Helen was born on Feb. 22, l917 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Nick & Anna (Dybas) Pawlik. She moved to the Stevens Point area as a child with her parents and attended local schools. She married Clarence Becker on August 1, 1936 in Stevens Point. They started Whiting Nursery, a landscaping company in 1955. They retired in 1987. Clarence died in 1992.

Helen enjoyed square dancing, water color painting and was a volunteer at the Lincoln Center. She also worked as a demo lady at the Southside Copps Grocery Store.

She is survived by one daughter--Judy (John) Groholski of Stevens Point. One son --Roger (Patricia) Becker of Mayville. Three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Esther J. Shulfer

Esther J. Shulfer, age 95 of Stevens Point died Saturday April 24, 2010 at Point Manor where she has resided for the past two months.

Funeral services will be held at 10: 30 AM on Tuesday at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. The Rev. Robert Pedretti will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4-8PM on Monday and after 9AM on Tuesday at the church. The St Mary's Rosary Society of which she was a member will pray the rosary at 7PM on Monday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.

Esther was born on August 13, l914 in Polonia, the daughter of the late Anton & Helen (Wysocki) Mrochinski. She attended local schools. She married Alois Shulfer on Oct. 30, l934 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Custer. He died on Jan. 16, l984. Esther was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, canning and playing cards.She was a Volunteer at the Lincoln Center and a long time poll worker for the Town of Stockton.

Esther is survived by two daughters--Germaine (Casimir) Trzebiatowski and Marcy (Geno) Trzinski both of Stevens Point. Two sons--Conrad of Stevens Point and Fred of Amherst.--13 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Esther's family would like to say a special thank you to Ministry Health Hospice and the staff at Point Manor for the care given their mother.

Renetta J. Pezewski

Renetta J. Pezewski, formerly of the Town of Sharon, died Wednesday April 28, 2010 at the Portage County Health Care Center, where she has resided for the past eighteen months.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. The Rev. Marcin Mankowski will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9AM until services on Monday. The Shuda Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

Renetta was born on April 23, l936 in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Henry & Theresa (Lehman) Gagas Sr. She attended local schools and married Harry Pezewski on August 27, l956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They farmed all their married life in the Town of Sharon. Harry died in 2003. Renetta enjoyed playing cards, bingo & visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons--Michael (Joann) of Chicago--Randall (Shelly) and Harry Jr (Cerise) both of Custer. 6 grandchildren--Bradley--Melissa--Carmen--Bobbie Jo--Ashley--& Harry-- 5 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers--Donald (Irene) Gagas of Stevens Point--Henry Gagas of Custer & one sister Grace (James) Wood of Chicago. She was preceded in death by 2 sons Patrick & Joseph and one sister
